Categories Comments Tips for prospective students for every one hour you are in class, study that class for tow hours
Bang for the buck DEFINITELY a great investment. There is a great price and I strongly recommend this college
Am enjoying being here There is usually something to do around here. There is rarely a dull day here, but of course, there are indeed some dull days.
Am learning a lot The teachers will most definitely work with you whenever you are either falling behind or simply have questions and need extra help. Along with that, there is free tutoring among most subjects.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is good for science and nursing majors. They give comprehensive work that will help you succeed.
Tips for prospective students Work hard, ask questions, get a tutor, and get your work and to work (class) on time. Make sure you don't put all your study into one bulge into three hours, but study for an hour then take a half hour break. Make sure when you read don't read it straight through, but read it meta-cognitively. And don't high-light your text books. Use a fine-point felt tip pen when doing your studying.
Bang for the buck It is worth your money.
Am enjoying being here Even though the people, such as teachers and other students, smile alot this place really is a good place to be. And it's very easy to make friends here like my friends from the Bridge Program, Sade, Monica, Mike2, Akram, Jolie, and Shaniqua
Am learning a lot The teacher go the extra mile to break down the material and explain it more depth if you don't understand. They want to expand your mind on their subject at hand.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Enjoys smaller classes not huge lecture halls and likes interacting with others.
Tips for prospective students Just work hard and focus on your studies and you'll be fine.
Bang for the buck You have so many resources available to you for free! You can even text a librarian a question and they'll text back with your answer!
Am enjoying being here They have so many activities to do around campus! There's usually something fun to do everyday. It's nice to hang out with friends and do something free in between classes.
Am learning a lot Courses here are great and the professors are very helpful! They want you to pass and will help you in every way that they can.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are looking for: a more intimate classroom setting. - Smaller class sizes - Personal relationships with teachers Quiet surroundings Positive open minded people and a good college experience Then Stevenson University is the place for you.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you actually study and turn in your assignments. Every little bit of time you dedicate to your studies the better off you will be. But don't forget to make friends and have fun it'll make your time at Stevenson even better.
Bang for the buck The school is a great price, just have to make sure that you keep on top of your financial aid or it could be a little overwhelming.
Am enjoying being here The enviornment is very positive. You rarely see a negative person and there is always something to do. It does have it's moments where you get bored but that's up to the individual.
Am learning a lot The teachers here at SU are very straight forward and are very concerned about your grades and status in the class. If it looks like you're falling behind they take the time to ask you what can they do to help you.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are coming to stevenson to be a nursing major this is the best school to attend. This is their most popular major and 99% of students who graduates from stevenson university as a nursing major passes the licensing exam on the first attempt to become a registered nurse. In my opionion, that is excellent. So I encourage every student who is interested in nursing to apply to Stevenson University because they have the best nuring program that I know of.
Tips for prospective students My advice to the future prospective students is to study very hard and please, please, please have an organized time schedule to where you know the times of your classes, when you eat and most importantly SLEEP!! try to attend all of your classes because a missed class can really affect you in your grades and completed assignments. When you start your courses your freshmen year, start off strong, put your best effort into your studies because if you don't it is so hard to catch up later on when the end of the semester arrives. If you are staying on campus in the resident halls, your Stevenson ID card and your Residential dorm key will become your best friend because losing it will not be a fun experience. You will use these items almost everyday.
Bang for the buck In all honesty, this university is a little expensive but they give out numerous scholarships, and if you are in good academic standing and has accomplished good things in high school such as sports, club organizations and community service you will most likely receive a scholarship. I love how this school gives you opportunities to earn scholarships just by showing what you have accomplished in high school and what you can bring forth to the university. All the money that you have to pay to attend the school is worth it because the school provides us good courses to take each year, good meals to eat and several activities held throughout the university each week.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy living on campus at Stevenson University. The residential halls are amazing. Everything is clean and organized, I feel very secure at this university. We are given ID cards to receive access to meals, on campus buildings and off campus stores for discounts. Th e social environment at Stevenson University is good; everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It is very easy to make friends at Stevenson University because it is a small campus so it is easier to know everyone. The athletic sports at this university is interesting because in the year of 2011 the first football team was formed, the soccer team and lacrosse was also popular at this university. We had a great homecoming in 2011, coming into the university as a freshmen is one of the most memorable experiences I will never forget.
Am learning a lot The courses that I have taken currently in my first semester freshmen year have been really helpful towards my studies as a nursing major. I have taken courses such as sociology, basic statistics, English and beginning acting. I was a little reluctant about my acting class because I had never taken a course such as this. My biggest fear was standing in front of others and performing and shyness. Eventually, I developed well in this course. I started to like it. Beginning acting taught me to speak loudly and I discovered acting skills I never knew I had. I became very close to other peers in my class. Stevenson University has helped me get out of my comfort zone; I am experiencing and learning new things every day. This university pushes the students to do their very best on whatever major you are studying in. The faculty at Stevenson University is also helpful and caring to the students.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck The money is very expensive but I can truly say that it's worth every penny.
Am enjoying being here There is always something to do here. There are always many activities and events to be a part of...there is barely a dry day here.
Am learning a lot The teachers are always willing to work with you one on one. The classes are small which is an advantage as the teacher is able to pay more attention to each of the student's needs. There is also free tutoring and Supplemental Instructors available for specific classes.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Stevenson University is one of the most affordable independent universities in the country. If you go online to Stevenson University Tuituion & Fees they offer a complete page of estimated tuition and fees including housing and meal plans.
Will enjoy being here Resident life at SU strives to create a residential community that goes beyond the traditional dormitory setting. The staff works not only to ensure that University housing is safe, clean, and well-maintained, but also help students become active members of the Stevenson community.
Will learn a lot The Nursing program is phenomenal with a 98% passing rate. Important features of this option are the strong theoretical and clinical experiences.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Most buildings are secured with card key access.
Greek Life Several sororities, but no fraternities.
Clubs and Activities So many, its hard to decide.
Great for these types of students They have something for everyone; great for all types.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus SU recently purchased land near campus to expand. Its rumored to be haunted.
Bang for the buck According to my parents, no a la cart expenses. Tuition covers may of the extra costs such as laundry, copying, even the occasional trip to SubWay.
What to do for fun There are so many activities; some planned and some last minute.
Food and Dining There are several cafes on campus and the food is ok. But there are many restaurants near campus, and with my SU ID cards meals are subtracted directly from my SU account.
Dorm Life Co-ed...enough said!
Academic Rigor The courses are what you would expect at the college level. SU offers both student and professional tutoring for anyone who may need it.
Tips for prospective students Take your time to look at all SU has to offer and visit often (they even offer an overnight visit).
In three sentences We visited several schools, but decided on SU because of its overall atmosphere. Its moderately sized with 2 campuses (1 urban/1 rural), there's plenty to do (on and off campus), and they have the newest technologies throughout the campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is always a guard around and they too are friendly and helpful. I once locked my keys in my car in the pouring down rain and Campus Security got my keys out of my car and waited for me to get in before leaving.
Greek Life There are two sororities on campus but I don't think there are any fraternities.
Clubs and Activities There are Sororities, clubs for a wide range of interests such as horseback riding and graphic design and sports teams that range from lacrosse to football.
Great for these types of students Stevenson is great for any major but especially Nursing, Business, and Art majors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Greenspring's art gallery and theatre is great.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is a private University but the people are great and helpful and you get a well-rounded education.
What to do for fun Stevenson is located near Baltimore so there are a lot of things for students to do there such as the Science Center and the Aquarium. Artists come frequently on campus to talk about their careers and show their art. There is also school and club sponsored activities.
Food and Dining There are two campus's at Stevenson- one in Owing Mills and one in Greenspring. The food at Greenspring is really well done with a small cafeteria like place and a sub shop where students can buy school food. At Owings Mills there is a large eating hall at the Rockland center; the food here has an extensive selection but isn't as good as the Greenspring food.
Dorm Life Stevenson is in an area where students at the university can either commute to school or live on campus. First year dorms are what to be expected but sophomore and later students can apply to get small on campus 'apartments' that are extremely nice.
Academic Rigor Like most schools the difficultly of classes is mostly due to the teachers. There are a lot of teachers who have heavy work-loads and will make you work for the grade you get.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to ask the staff at Stevenson; the people are friendly and will try their best to help you with your problems. Get involved in the Stevenson campus.
In three sentences Stevenson is a up-and-coming University with a wide range of programs and degrees. It is filled with wonderful and helpful people that can get you on the academic career you want. There a lot of activities for students to participate in such as clubs, art showings, and workshops.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who: like small class sizes, want a small and friendly environment, want to live in a busier area but also have the choice of classes at the other quiet campus, who like to be involved with the college and go to many events on campus
Tips for prospective students Like some other people said, it is easy to get help so just ask if you need it. The teachers I've had won't hold your hand, but they are willing to help if you ask questions or go to them during office hours. There are also tutors, and some classes have SI sessions that can help you if you are confused on anything. There are a lot of ways to get help so take advantage of it.
Bang for the buck It might be expensive to someone who isn't involved in activities. There are tons of free campus events and opportunities which makes it worth the price.
Am enjoying being here I'm a commuter and have had almost all of my classes at the Greenspring campus since it's closer to my house. I really like the calm and nice environment, but still being close to the other campus in a busier area. Everyone seems nice and helpful.
Am learning a lot Most professors understand the material and are able to answer your questions and provide help.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Dedicated students, people who enjoy learning, people who know how to ask for help, people who can prioritize but also balance school with their social life.
Tips for prospective students Definitely not a party school, the social scene here is very different than at some of the bigger colleges. But if you're a dedicated student and/or athlete or performer, this can be a great opportunity. Definitely make friends with your teachers and take advantage of the tons of FREE and great services the school offers. Services like the Academic link, tutors, Smarthinking, etc. If you really apply yourself and take advantage of all you can you will be fine.
Bang for the buck I have a scholarship (which Stevenson gives out many scholarships) so the amount of money I have to pay is not at all bad. But it's a great school, with good equipment and a wholesome, clean, and great environment, so it's worth it. Without the financial aid, it would feel a little too expensive though.
Am enjoying being here I'm a commuter, so it's a little bit harder having a social life here. But for the most part, it's a nice school with very nice people from all sorts of backgrounds. Now if you're looking for a party school, that's a different story...
Am learning a lot The classes are a great size and the teachers are very knowledgable in their areas of expertise.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who like: ~ smaller classes ~participate in sports, and not always sit on the bench ~have fun in a urban and rural settings ~who want to be remembered by name and not a number
Tips for prospective students If you like smaller classes, but still want that full on college experience, Stevenson is the place for you. Stevenson is a place where you can feel at home, and you can still have fun with friends and family. Family is welcomed on campus, and not just on Family Weekends. Families come and support our sporting events, and even when we have special events at school.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is a very affordable university. The only thing is, you need to make sure that you check your account regularly because there can be mistakes on your bill, that may hinder you from signing up for class for the next semester.
Am enjoying being here This fall marked the first time Stevenson University has had a football team, but that doesn't make a difference. Win or lose, the Stevenson student body are out there cheering for each other. We are a close knit family at Stevenson because within a few weeks, you know more people than you could ever imagine. This is because there are so many activities on campus like Patio Jams, sports, clubs, etc.
Am learning a lot Stevenson University is a place that encourages the students to work one on one with advisers and teachers. They believe that each and everyone of us have full potential. The professors want each of us to succeed, and they will help you no matter what time of day it is. Some classes are hard, but with the help of the Academic Link and professor's office hours; you can succeed at any subject.

Tips for prospective students If you are thinking of attending SU apply to do an overnight visit. It is extremely helpful and gives you a good idea of life at SU.
Bang for the buck The dorms are very nice. The food isn't that great but it is improving. The teachers are very helpful and there is a free tutoring center if you need help in any of your classes.
Am enjoying being here Yes, I love attending SU.
Am learning a lot The teachers are very helpful and the classes are useful for my major.

Tips for prospective students The main tip I would like to give prospective students would be to just enjoy yourself make the most of it and don't get cooped up in your room explore.
Bang for the buck It is a great place and it is very enjoyable. Sure it is expensive but it is definitely worth it.
Am enjoying being here I am really enjoying my time here I have met so many people while being on campus.
Am learning a lot I am learning a great variety of things here at Stevenson University. They are helping me with all my needs as a student. The teachers are very resourceful and know what they are doing.

Categories Comments Campus Safety security is top notch. you must have your card to get into buildings and through gates.
Clubs and Activities lots of interest groups, sports, etc.
Great for these types of students great for people who like to be hands on with their job.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there are two separate campuses and they are adding a third. transportation is provided to all of them.
Bang for the buck they are building a new third campus, so the college is expanding. they continue to add new sports like football and ice hockey. everything is state of the art and up to date!
What to do for fun there are sports games to attend. there are holiday events, volunteer opportunities for the community, interest groups, and lots more.
Food and Dining there are many options for food and dining at stevenson. i have never had a problem finding something i like to eat here on campus.
Dorm Life the dorms are the best. my dorm is brand new and security is very good here.
Academic Rigor the classes are challenging, and i was able to seek help when i needed assistance.
Tips for prospective students stevenson a lot of positive academics to offer. many of the majors will give you work experience as well. i felt welcome from the first time i came for a tour of the college.
In three sentences i had a great first semester at stevenson. the classes were tough but i was able to get assistance when i needed it. i plan to attend here next year as well.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities at stevenson there s a club for everybody. there's a q group which supports the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. the step-team promotes the african tradition of stepping and making beats with the body. the black student union provides a variety of options from modeling to singing for students of all races. as one can see, stevenson has a wide variety of clubs and activities.
Food and Dining stevenson has a wide variety of food choices to choose from. there are many restaurants on campus such as five guys, baskin robbins, outback, bonefish grill, new york pizza, and nino taco. most of these places accept flex dollars which is the money the school gives you. the places where you can use your meal lan are rockland and pandini's. the food at rockland is either a hit or miss. you're experience depends on what the menu is for that night. pandini's is pretty good however.
Dorm Life dorm life at stevenson is absolutely amazing. here you have suites where you share a bathroom with three other people instead of sharing it with the whole floor. each suite has two bedrooms one bathroom and a common area. the dorms are already equipped with refrigerators an microwaves. stevenson gives you a roommate questionnaire and they do a great job of matching people up according to their responses.
Academic Rigor stevenson has very high academic standards. if you obtain a scholarship, you must maintain a 2.5 gpa to maintain it. different majors have required gpa's as well. if you're grades are low in specific classes the academic services office will contact you and help to get everything back on track.
Tips for prospective students i would recommend that all students apply for this school before march. this school does offer scholarships but it takes about two weeks for your application is processed. applying earlier gives you time to ensure that the school can process all financial aid.
In three sentences stevenson provides a positive learning environment. the professors are always willing to give extra help. the academic services office ensures the success of the students.

Categories Comments What to do for fun I find that it's not what you do but who you do it with so having a great group of friends will make any activity seem fun. I personally enjoy outdoor activities. For those who don't own a car, the school offers a shuttle that runs every hour to the metro, you can easily head downtown for a night of fun.
Food and Dining Food on the Greenspring campus is better than the Owings Mills campus. It gets redundant at times. Not the greatest food but they do have some specials offered throughout the semester (last year they had a Seafood and Steak Night compliment with household music).
Dorm Life The apartments/dorms are great as opposed to those at larger universities. If you're in the apartments (requires junior or senior status) then you're provided a kitchen and you're not required to be on a meal plan(this means less money). Only downfall is that if you are someone looking for a party atmosphere, Stevenson may not suit you. There is not much offered on campus on weekends so many students leave for home.
Academic Rigor I can only speak for the biology track at Stevenson, which is very challenging as I believe it is everywhere. You must maintain a %73 average in order to stay in the program. It is essential that you do well in your chemistry courses as a biology major as they are prerequisites for many Biology courses. Being diligent and on top of assignments is essential.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to take advantage of the free tutoring, SI sessions (if offered) or the professors at Stevenson if you encounter any problems in your classes. Be proactive about yor future. Take advantage of the services that the Career center offers.
In three sentences Stevenson University is very personable. There are many fine professors who exceed what is required to help you succeed. The only downfall with this institution is that it is very expensive and students have to commute via shuttles to get to either campus.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities They have a talent show every year which is so much fun to watch. I was in it my freshman year.
Great for these types of students Those who want to focus and not get distracted too easily.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus They have some amazing bagel cafe's nearby that I love going to get breakfast at. There is NYP down the hill. It is a pizza place, run by Chinese people, that turns into a club at night....if that isn't unusual I don't know what is! We are also right near an abandoned mental hospital that is rumored to be haunted!
Bang for the buck Stevenson is extremely expensive.
What to do for fun Honestly, I have no idea. There really isn't much and everyone goes home on the weekends.
Food and Dining The food on Greenspring is amazing. Rockland and Pandinis tend to upset my stomach. I have heard many other students experience the same.
Dorm Life The dorms are amazing of course. They are brand new and really give you a lot of space. However, there isn't a lot of activities on campus.
Academic Rigor The classes aren't too challenging. I was kind of disappointed with some of the teachers I got. Some didn't really teach and graded absurdly like taking 10 points off for a missing word. Many of the classes I had to take were like repeats of my high school classes and considering I took all AP and honors classes in high school and passed, was kind of aggravating.
Tips for prospective students The campus is small, so get involved in clubs. The days and weekends will get kind of dull and repetitive at times.
In three sentences Stevenson is growing. Stevenson is new. Stevenson has an amazing career placement program.

Categories Comments Campus Safety A very close, tight knit campus with safety phones almost everywhere in case there is an emergency.
Clubs and Activities Always things to do on campus
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The stadium for football/soccer/lacrosse is brand new and football will be starting only its 2nd season ever
Bang for the buck A little expensive but your getting a great education and the school tries to help you anyway they can financially.
What to do for fun The city of Baltimore is only a few minutes away from the campus, inner harbor isn't that far away and Washington DC is about 30-45 minutes away.
Food and Dining They served lobster tail for dinner once! Doesn't get much better than that.
Dorm Life Dorms are great however I chose to live in an off campus apartment just for personal preference.
Academic Rigor Stevenson University makes you think critically and solve problems or look at things in ways you wouldnt normally do.
Tips for prospective students Great academic school, great campus, friendly people, just make the most of the opportunity of college no matter where you decide to go.
In three sentences Stevenson is a great school where I feel like I can grow as a student, athlete, and as a person. The school has an excellent reputation for academics as well as athletics. Another reason why I chose this school is because of the opportunity it possesses for life after school, being in the Baltimore area as well as being close to Washington DC.

Categories Comments Campus Safety they try lol
Greek Life THEY HAVE NONE.......NO i think they have one
Great for these types of students Students who can afford it and that don't want to be at a party school
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus they gym. its extra small. idk y the building it is n is big but ok. and the football players are always in there so you might not be able to workout
Bang for the buck To much money for a school that always asks you for money
What to do for fun alot of the students have cars so they go to towson alot for party but every now and they they might have a party on campus. the apartments usually have something goin on
Food and Dining the food is great but i hate how after 8ish you can only get pizza or pasta and after a while you get sick of it
Dorm Life The dorms are a grat size. the only thing is make sure your roommate is clean. my wasent and she had bugs on her side of the room
Academic Rigor The teachers are great. They don't make you feel like you cant talk to them about anything you need help on
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have money. a lot of the events they have are not free. Never lock yourself out your room. i did it 5 times and after the first time they charge u 25 bucks each time. And make sure if there is any damages to your room when u move you u take photos because they will try to charge you for it like it wasn't there before you got there. Also since the dorms are coed you don't have to worry about not being able to see a boy. they are all over the place lol
In three sentences This school is a great place to go if you don't want to be in the city and exposed to a lot of things but is EXSPENSIVE

Categories Comments What to do for fun there are plenty of clubs and activities on campus however if you must leav campus downtown Baltimore is just a train ride away.
Food and Dining The food is like any other campus however they spice it up with different cuisines.
Dorm Life The dorms are very new. two new building were just built and the others are still in great condition.
Tips for prospective students Make friends at Mustang Days because most likely you will see them a lot during the school year.
In three sentences Stevenson University is a growing University who has amazing programs. The student-teacher ratio is great for a 1 on 1 relationship with your professor. It is a great place to be.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an old chicken coop that is converted into a meditation room. No one seems to know about it even though it is right next to the parking lot.
What to do for fun There is not much to do. The school tries but it can seem to overcome its boring location. Students can go to Baltimore if they are looking for something to do.
Food and Dining The food seems to be the best on days when there are prospective students. I imagine it is the same quality as every other school.
Dorm Life The dorms are absolutely wonderful. They are big and there are private bathrooms. The only problem is that they are insanely expensive and there is not much to do on campus.
Academic Rigor It really depend on the major. The science majors seem to be the only ones that require much effort.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you want to stay with the major you start with. The school does not have a wide range of majors so changing to a major that suits your interests can be difficult.
In three sentences Stevenson University is a small school so it can be difficult to make a good schedule. However, it is a good school for students interesting in science majors and other majors that are academically rigorous. The school does lack some prestige due to the entrance gpa requirement being so low.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is very safe. Security is a priority.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is expensive. My parents say they're paying for the small classroom size to give me the best advantage for my learning style.
What to do for fun Stevenson is a small campus located in a suburb of Baltimore, so unless you have a car to travel, then you're stuck on campus, which isn't bad at all. There are a lot of activities and a lot of work to do to keep you busy.
Food and Dining The food is better than expected for college. I get tired of the same menu items, but the quality is good.
Dorm Life The dorms are new and all located in the same area. I like the dorms and options for roommates.
Academic Rigor My classes are difficult, but there is help. That is a major reason I chose the school- the one on one assistance from professors as needed.
Tips for prospective students Come visit the school to shadow. You will not get a true picture of Stevenson unless you stay on campus for a couple of days.
In three sentences Stevenson has been a good experience for me. I appreciate the smaller classrooom sizes and focus on my academic success. I also like the diversity and job placement.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus at Stevenson is a smoke free campus. Bullying of any sort, and underage drinking are not tolerated at Stevenson. The campus is also gated, and those gates close after 10 p.m. again to protect the students and staff.
Greek Life There is also something for everyone at Stevenson, as far as joining a sorority, a fraternity is coming soon. One of the oldest sororities is the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Tau Theta Chapter; founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-lettered organization established by African-American college-educated women. Stevenson University's undergraduate chapter of AKA, Tau Theta, was chartered on April 3, 2011. Its members are distinguished young women who boast excellent academic records, proven leadership skills, and are involved in the community through service.
Clubs and Activities At Stevenson there are several clubs and activities such as sororities, the Accounting Association, Active Minds, American Chemistry, Society, Association of International Graphic Artists, Best Buddies, Black Student Union, Campus Crusade for Christ, Catholic Campus Ministry, Class Councils, College Republicans, Cool Kids Club, Environmental Club, etc. The Best Buddies Club deals with helping others with disabilities, and the Cool Kids Club deals with helping families with kids who have cancer. There are also several sports like football, basketball, track and field, hockey, dance etc. There is something for everyone at Stevenson.
Great for these types of students Stevenson is great for students who work well in smaller environments, and want a quality education, that goes beyond the classroom. Internships, and studying abroad are also options at Stevenson.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an annual movie night around halloween. The campus is split between Owings Mills and Greenspring however by the fall of 2013, every building/class will be moved to one campus making the transportation from class to class easy and convenient.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is expensive, once you add up the tuition, room and board, and meal plan. But overall, it's worth the price. Stevenson is a great community, and the campus is also gated, for the student's and staff's protection. The people at Stevenson greet you with a smile, and it is obvious that they want you to go to their school. Where as some other institutions can make you feel like a number rather than a student, due to the sheer size of their campuses. The quality of education also is greater, because of the one on one time, and personal relationships gained between students and teachers.
What to do for fun At Stevenson there are several things to do for fun, there's a game room, where people can play video games, rent movies, watch television, or play pool. Stevenson also has many school events, like crab fests, the carnival, trips to New York, White Water Rafting etc.
Food and Dining The food is great at Stevenson University. Their is a wide variety of food, at Stevenson from stir fry, pizza, sandwiches, etc. There are also several other restaurants around the campus; Chick-fil-a, Dunkin' Donuts, subway, etc. On the Stevenson campus, there is also a school grocery store.
Dorm Life The dorms are a decent size they are not huge, but they are not small either. The dorm rooms are shared by two people, the bathroom is split, shared between two rooms, or four people. There are dressers to put clothes in, and one stand that you can put a television or something on. There are no toaster ovens or anything like that, a just a microwave as far as cooking.
Academic Rigor Studying is key, depending on the major more or less studying is required. For example a science major has maybe six science classes per week. For every one hour of a class you would want to dedicate three or four hours of study time on material for the week. Therefore you would want to dedicate 18 to 24 hours per week for the material. College is not easy, but if enough work, and effort is applied then you should be fine. The average student to teacher ratio is 17:1. Therefore, there is more one on one time for students to learn more effectively, and more time for the teachers and students to get to know each other.
Tips for prospective students Always do research on the University you are thinking about or planning to attend. A college visit also makes all the difference in the world. Visiting a campus shows what campus life is like first hand. Five out of five, the staff and students currently attending Stevenson University, let you know what you're getting yourself into, and they ask that each student challenges themselves everyday to learn something new, and gain life lessons from each experience, being active within Stevenson will give you the best experience. Always finding balance between work and play will be the key to success at any institution. The campus visit also lets you experience what type of vibe you will most likely feel, if you decide to go to Stevenson University. Apply for as many scholarships as possible, the less money you have to pay back the better.
In three sentences Stevenson University deserves four out of fives stars, it has a beautiful campus, the food is great and dorms are a decent size. Stevenson has everything I was looking for in an University; it is close to home, small, career-oriented, and the focus on each student's growth as a person, morally, socially, and mentally. However, the cost for tuition, room and board, and a meal plan, altogether seem to be expensive, but financial aid helps alot.

Greek Life None really. There are no houses for the only Sorority on campus, and it's more of an academic sorority.
Clubs and Activities Some activities, but lack of real bands and artists to perform at the school.
Great for these types of students Athletes, nurse and business students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a neat trail behind the school along a creek which is fun to take when it's warm outside.
Bang for the buck Little too expensive for a small school. Money seems to go to the President's paycheck and the Lacrosse team.
What to do for fun Visit Baltimore City, play sports, recreation rooms, campus activities.
Food and Dining Meal plan is way too expensive for the quality of the food. You are also required to have a meal plan for your first two years if you're living in the suites.
Tips for prospective students Be involved in as many activities as you can and you will have the best time while at Stevenson.

At night the gates lock so only people with an idea are allowed in and we have security in each building from 8pm to 2am.
Greek Life We have at least two sororities on campus Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Kappa Alpha. We share Delta with Towson University and some guys are working on getting a fraternity on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities like sororities, M.A.P, forensics club, chemistry club, biology club. There is pretty much at least one club for each major.
Great for these types of students Stevenson is great for people who like small classes, small campuses and even if you do not have a car we have shuttles that drive you from campus to campus and even on some weekend out of town or to stores. There is also a shuttle that takes you to and from the metro.

Tips for prospective students Come check out Stevenson.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel completely safe on campus. Nothing will happen to you unless your making it known you would like to be hurt. Campus security is great, always there when you need them.
Greek Life Not really big on Greek Life, but there are a few sororities but no fraternities.
Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs for anyone.
Great for these types of students Great for people who like the small close knit feeling. Everyone knows or have seen everyone on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Two campuses, and are building a third. First campus (Main) has all the dorms/apartments, gym, food, school services, and two buildings for class. The second class has most of the classes, cafeteria, gym, mediation room, theater, etc. I heard the third campus will have the classes moved there.
Bang for the buck 39,000+ is a bit much, especially for such a small school. But they have great campus, huge dorms, good conveniences for students, and are currently still building.
What to do for fun Not much to do unless you go off campus. There are plenty of groups on campus with activities planned. But if your more of a party goer, not really for you.
Food and Dining Dining at every school isn't the best, especially if we are comparing it to your mom's home cooking. There is a buffet style dinner and a pizzeria style dinner on the main campus. with two other small dinning areas. On the second campus, food is better and more options. It gets boring after a while, i don't hate it yet.
Dorm Life The new dorms are huge and the older dorms are still a great size compared to other schools. You have your own bathroom, refrigerator, and microwave. Don't worry about fans or heaters, you can control your own AC/Heater unit. Dorms are Co-Ed. I would recommend living on campus.
Academic Rigor Stevenson University is BIG on learning. The The teachers, advisors, and tutors there are willing to help you in anyways possible. Anywhere you look, there is someone willing to lend a hand.
Tips for prospective students If your into a school that is very small and small classes, with a at home feel this is the place for you. Definitely more for Nursing and Science Majors. I recommend visiting the school before you attend to get a good feel for it.

Categories Comments Food and Dining There are two Main food places here on campus. one is called Rockland where it is an All you can eat buffet which closes at 7:00 pm and Pandini's which serves sandwiches, pizza, and pasta. Pandini's closes at 11:00 so, it is conveniently open later so if your are going to be up all night doing homework or just as a mid-night snack you are able to eat.
Dorm Life The dorms are very different from any other college or university. Here, every dorm has two rooms with two people to each room, there are duel sinks, a shower, and a toilet in your room so you are not sharing a bathroom with the entire floor. Also a Fridge and freezer comes with the room. It's like living in a small sized apartment. It is really cozy for incoming freshmen
Academic Rigor The teachers here are very caring and helpful to your needs. Also the teachers try very hard to learn your name and get to know you so you don't feel like Just a number
Tips for prospective students This is a great school to meet new friends. The school also cares a lot about the new Freshmen and there are many support groups and activities to make your transition easier.
In three sentences Stevenson University is a growing college with great students. The school allows you to grow as a person. Most importantly it puts you on YOUR road to success.

Academic Rigor I learn a lot and most teachers are willing to do anything to help the students. The classes are fairly small for greater learning. Of course as with any school there will be a few teachers who are not such great teachers
Tips for prospective students Check ratemyprofessors.com when you have a choice of which professor to take. Most teachers are listed and have reviews. Of course you can always post on the Facebook page and ask and current students will reply with their input on that teacher.
In three sentences It is a great school that always has activities going on the keep the students involved. Categories Comments What to do for fun Well there's actually a lot to do for fun, there is a beach volleyball court and basketball court. There's always people out in the quad doing something. Your RA's have floor events or building events. There are campus activities like the homecoming dance to indoor ice skating. There is a broad range on things you can do.
Food and Dining It might seem great but it can be bad on certain days. But this is just like every other college or university it'll always have bad food.
Dorm Life Dorm life actually isn't as bad as what people expect well at least not here. Unlike most colleges each dorm has there own bathroom, only downside is you have to clean it. But other than that its pretty roomy. You have 2 rooms for people to live in and a small common room when you first walk in which basically for us was our pantry, we had all of our snacks and food in there with the microwave and fridge that's provided. Also if there was ever a problem with people in your dorm its easy to fix either by a room meeting or if its at the point where you cant take it then they can find you a different room.
Academic Rigor Well me as a nursing major when choosing my college I wanted a school well known for their academics. This being the school of the sciences they're well known for those courses in which your engaged and you have experience to jump right into a job, Now don't get me wrong you'll definitely get your academic challenges but it'll be worth it when you get your diploma.
Tips for prospective students My first semester just passed and the biggest tip I can give is do all of your work and go to all of your classes. It will be hard but its more challenging to keep your GPA up when they don't let you hand in anything late or if your absent without excuse you will not be able to make it up. I had the hardest time getting up for early classes and if i slept through them that was my fault, yet i couldn't do anything about it.
In three sentences I feel that Stevenson University is a well diverse school, great teacher to class ratios, and small enough where you feel at home. I know that with a big school you feel overwhelmed but with a smaller one its easier meeting people along with not feeling awkward. Also some students are scared to do bad which is why the ratio of teachers to class is the best, you feel that one on one aspect of high school in college

Categories Comments Campus Safety The security here is great. Everyone is encouraged to save the number in their cell phone, and their office is easy to find in the community center. After 8pm, anyone entering campus has to scan their student ID, so outsiders really can't get in.
Great for these types of students Stevenson is great for anyone, but the science programs are particularly strong. I'm a nursing major, and I can already see why the nursing program is so highly esteemed. I feel like I'm getting such a good education.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is totally worth the cost. The education is phenomenal and I couldn't ask for more helpful professors.
What to do for fun Honestly, you have to make your own fun around here. One thing I don't like is that there isn't all that much to do. Make a few friends, though, and you'll have a blast doing almost anything.
Food and Dining The food isn't the best I've ever had, but it isn't the worst, either. Some dishes are better than others. There's room for improvement, but it is good enough to live off of.
Dorm Life The dorms are very nice and modern. It is very spacious compared to most dorms, and the bathroom is a very nice size. The closet is a good size, and there's plenty of drawers for my stuff.
Academic Rigor I haven't been challenged academically much yet, but I'm sure that it gets tougher as the years go on. I took Advanced Placement courses in high school, so I think taking those really helped me to excel this year.
Tips for prospective students My biggest tip would be to look at the money last. Come visit Stevenson, and if you have that gut feeling that you belong here (I did!), then come! The education truly pays for itself.
In three sentences Stevenson University provides a wonderful education. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but it is totally worth the loan I had to take out. I can't imagine more caring and helpful professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Super extra overdone security.
Greek Life No Greek houses. Minimal Greek life.
Clubs and Activities Anything you want, although you have to contact them. They are elusive.
Great for these types of students Students who don't want to sit in a stadium sized classroom.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Pet the stang in the caves for good luck!
Bang for the buck Stevenson is expensive but classroom sizes and education are worth it.
What to do for fun We're 20 minutes away from Baltimore! Go to clubs, concerts, events, etc. Not much to do on campus, especially in winter, but I like the quiet life.
Food and Dining Food is good. A lot of options. Beware freshman 15, seriously.
Dorm Life Dorm life is chill. There's a security guard from 8 pm to 4 am but he/she doesn't bother you. You can basically do whatever you want as long as you're not screaming/ burning the place down.
Academic Rigor Stevenson intro classes are fairly easy and most teachers don't aim to make 101 classes impossible. However teachers aim to make higher level classes more challenging. As a freshman in a 300 level class it's definitely challenging.
Tips for prospective students Bring a lot of warm clothes and rain boots. Also don't be afraid to ask for help. There are tons of people who are just waiting to help.
In three sentences Stevenson is small and private. It has small classroom sizes which I thoroughly enjoy and teachers are normally very helpful. There is no reason why someone cannot succeed here.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities A lot of the clubs are new or re-starting, so there aren't too many big club events.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are big mustang statues that are painted to represent different parts of the school on Greenspring campus.
Bang for the buck Getting a scholarship for Stevenson is pretty easy, which is good because it's expensive.
What to do for fun There are events almost every week on campus, but there isn't really anything to do within walking distance. If you have a car there's plenty of hiking trails, nature centers, places to shop; and the campus provides a shuttle to shopping and baltimore/DC on the weekends.
Food and Dining Much better than the food at other colleges I checked out, but still not home cooking ;)
Dorm Life The dorms are really nice, there's no communal shower; but if you hate bunkbeds as much as I do, hope you get the A type room (there are two room types for freshmen dorms and type B has bunkbeds).
Academic Rigor I haven't had any trouble in my freshmen classes, they're mostly introductory courses.
Tips for prospective students Have a really good idea of your major Be ready for a few evening classes, sometimes you'll have to take them Be careful what you eat- freshman fifteen is not a myth!
In three sentences Stevenson is a realy good college if you already know what you want to do with your career. The University is very focused on preparing you for a job, so if you come in your first year undecided, it will be tougher to graduate in four years. There are some fun things to do on the two campuses, and the housing is way better than the other coleges I looked at.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The are security guards 24/7. At night there is one security gaurs per dormitory to check ID's. there is also a fire station not even two minutes away.
Greek Life As I mentioned, we have sororities and a trying to start a fraternity.
Clubs and Activities There are so many different clubs to get involved with from Mustang Activities and Programming to English Club to Not For Sale. We also have a few sororities, and they are trying to start a fraternity.
Great for these types of students Definitely a great school for those focused on education. It is definitely not a big party school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a mediation center on the Greenspring campus that boasts a meditation wheel.
Bang for the buck Stevenson is a pretty expensive school, but they have a lot of amenities. Also, if you ate interested in Nursing in particular, they provide the latest and greatest technology for you to use to learn.
What to do for fun There are a lot of events happening on campus. I personally work for Student Activities and we provide, in conjunction with other clubs and organizations, lots of fun things to do on the weekend and during the week. For example, we recently had a glow party and we are hosting a comedy show in February featuring Seth Myers from Saturday Night Live!
Food and Dining The food is pretty good. They are trying to change up their menu. The school also provides you $75 on your card to use at participating restaurants near the campus, which is a plus. There are also many options around the school that you can shell out money and obtain food.
Dorm Life The dorms are pretty nice. However, if you do happen to be assigned a B room, they are really small, especially for two people to share. There are quiet hours in place, so don't be afraid to knock on a door and tell them to hush up. Also, the RA's (resident assistants) are extremely nice and supportive, so don't be wary of talking to them.
Academic Rigor The teachers here do not play around. If you don't put forth your best effort, they are not afraid to give you a bad grade. They push you really hard to succeed in their class and in general.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should be aware that you will need to work really hard on your studies to be able to succeed in almost all their courses.
In three sentences Stevenson University is a fun, friendly environment. Stevenson is very focused on helping you to find a job after you graduate. Also, a very goal oriented university.

Great for these types of students undergrad
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus rockland blowout, glow party, freshmen activities
What to do for fun get involved on campus, sports, groups, etc.
Tips for prospective students books are expensive so save for them.
In three sentences It is a very good school academically. There are many things to do and basically the college experience is what you make it. The dorm life is amazing and the best I have ever seen.

Categories Comments Greek Life there is barely any greek life on campus, beside a few cademic greek lilf organizations.
What to do for fun The university does not have many engaging activites for students, which is way students tend to drive to other universities to have fun. Unfortunately, Stevenson does not accessible transportation to other neighboring universities.
Food and Dining The food and dining at Stevenson University is poor. The food contains a lot of laxitives and there isnt much variety. Additionally, there is only two dining places on campus, besides two small cafes. Most freshmen eat off campus, while upperclassmen have the opportunity to cook in their dorm rooms.
Dorm Life The dorms are fairly new, with tons of space and amenities. Stevenson University has the best dorms I've seen while searching for colleges. The residential assistants are always available and resolve issues to the best of their ability. Each dorm has its own theme, which allows students to have friendly competitions.
Academic Rigor The academic classes are small which allow students to receive the one-on-one attention with faculty, but the classes do not seem very challenging.
Tips for prospective students I would advise an prospective student to attend an overnight stay through the university, in order to truly get the feel of the campus. As well as, I would attend open houses mutliple times and ask current students questions that concern them.
In three sentences Stevenson University is a school best for students who hope to have a small academic environment. As well, Stevenson is more of a communter school, where most students return home on the weekend. But, the university does have great academic support faculty and programs.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus is big on safety and there have been little to no incidents on campus that I have heard of.
Greek Life As of now we have no Greek Life, but we are supposed to begin some in the coming school year.
Great for these types of students Students willing to learn and improve will receive the most here.
Bang for the buck This is a private school so it is expensive, but is probably the most least expensive of any private school I have seen. The quality I think is worth the price.
What to do for fun Like I said before if you are not involved on campus there is not much to do on campus. We do live in a very populated area so driving and finding something to do is not hard but a car is needed for that.
Food and Dining The food is decent; probably just as good as any other school. The food on the Greenspring Campus is better than the Owings Mills Campus.
Dorm Life The dorms themselves are very nice. I have even had friends visit who told me it looked like I live in a hotel. There are activities in some of the dorms sometimes and you are always welcome to participate.
Academic Rigor Stevenson as I said before pushes you. Classes having to do with my major are difficult, but because I enjoy the area of law and the professors are so willing to help through it all it makes the experience a lot more pleasant.
Tips for prospective students I would say for anyone planning to come to Stevenson to get involved in as much as you can because if you are not you will get bored and it might get you in trouble. Also do your work and go to class, it is very easy to fall behind.
In three sentences When it comes to academics, Stevenson pushes people to go beyond what they are use to. It is a small campus, but that provides better relationships with our professors. So far my experience education wise has been good and makes me feel like I will be well prepared for my career after college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus security is on point and super helpful.
Greek Life I think there are like 2 sororities and 1 fraternity
Great for these types of students People who like to study and not party.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The meditation center on Greenspring is really awesome but not a lot of people use it.
Bang for the buck Super expensive for what you get but they do give decent merit scholarships.
What to do for fun Not much, some events on campus.
Food and Dining Some options but the meal plan is a rip-off.
Dorm Life Nice-ish dorms, but can be super boring.
Academic Rigor If you're going into the sciences, expect a challenge. Especially for nursing, they always complain about how difficult it is,
Tips for prospective students If you want to have internships and have a career based education, Stevenson is a great choice.
In three sentences If you're looking for a big party school, you won't find it here. Can be really boring if you don't have money or a car. Great school for career specific learning opportunities.

In three sentences It is a beautiful campus. Everything is in a good walking distance from each other. Also the athletic facilities are amazing.
