Vist the College more than once before making your decision. Be honest when filling out your residence portion of the application.

It is 30 minutes away from Lynchburg, which is the closest town to really do anything in. It is like living in a bubble, SBC is often referred to as the pink bubble. You have to find something to do on weekends cause SBC rarely has anything offered.

If you like horses this is a good place for you, otherwise don't go. If you're still considering it and don't like horses, show up unannounced to Sweet Briar because that's the only way to get a true feel. They have a tendency to try to make things seem better than they are.

Be sure this is the school for you. I love Sweet Briar, but it's definitely not for everyone. Many girls end up transferring due to cabin fever so to speak. It's a very small school, located in a very remote area. If you are an involved individual who actually wants to participate in the school's activities and traditions, this is the place for you! If not, it may not be your best match. Also, to minorities: As a black student, in a majority white, conservative, school, I have faced may struggles- especially my first year there. That's something to think about when asking yourself if you want to be apart of this school and their culture.
