Texas College is a residential and coeducational four-year, liberal arts, historically black college awarding baccalaureate and associate degrees. It was founded in 1894 by a group of ministers interested in offering a quality education to African American youth. Texas College operates under the auspices of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. The College has an ?Ç£open admissions?Ç¥ policy that permits it to serve a broad-based traditional and non-traditional student clientele. Its mission is to ensure that graduates experience a balanced intellectual, psycho-social, and spiritual development aimed at making them active and productive members of society. The College pursues academic excellence; instills integrity; implants perseverance; promotes social responsibility; emphasizes tolerance; and encourages community service by its students as essential anchors in fulfilling its mission in an ever-changing world. Truly weigh out your options when picking a institution. It's not all about parties yet not all about homework(50/50). College is for a growing experience, a mere stepping stone to your bright future. Don't listen to that 12 credit hour bull. To graduate on time take at least 15 credits, get out of their in four years. Don't waste your money, know every loan you will pay back. Show up to class at least 85% of time, its beneficial towards you. No... Repeat No morning classes your first semester unless your a morning person. Parties last all night, it hard's to get up everyday. No mater what, or how shy, Get Involved in school activities. Looks good on your resume as well scholarships. Avoid developmental classes, they don't go towards your degree plan, ultimately delaying your graduation. Choose the right school the first time, each school has different requirements so your liable to lose credits. All of this comes from personally experience. I did everything wrong only, but now that I am on track I mentor to do something right. My mistakes were endless but I wasn't the party type. I was a over worked book worm who had no guidance. Experience of a lifetime...... read full review
