Around Town

Go to the football games! And go to the leisure pool during the warm months.

With our rec center being on of the largest, you can get carried away for hours there playing basketball, racquetball, and even badminton. You can grab an elliptical or go for a swim at our aquatic center! If you are a party type of person, there's always parties in the surrounding neighborhoods and apartments at Texas Tech.

My favorite thing to do is head down to Recreational Center and play some basketball. They have every sport available not to mention a Leisure Pool area with a lazy river and a separate indoor swimming pool.

There are many clubs and activites going on. Be sure to read the bulleting that comes out every couple of days for more information on sign ups or event times.

There is always something to do because of TAB so I would defiantly grab a TAB calendar. Also Tech is big on parting.

Join organizations. There's not much to do around the city in general, but when in an organization you will always have people to be around who you can go out and have fun with.

It's Lubbock, so there's really not much to do. You have to find something. My friends and I usually go to the movies or the mall. There are clubs and bars and stuff as well. To be honest, it's just stuff you can do anywhere. But on campus, there are a lot of clubs to join. You should also probably go to football games. Those are a great experience, the audience is lively and outgoing, and you get an overall great sense of school spirit. It is fantastic, and one of my favorite things about Tech!

Tech offers a lot of fun (and free!) activities for students! There are TAB events which are free events that sprout up a few times a week at the SUB. These events can go anywhere from making your own cacti plant to making your own keychains and going out to the movies or other fun attractions in Lubbock FOR FREE. There's also the recreational center at Tech, which offers lots of swimming options, as well as a rock wall, basketball and volleyball courts, private rooms to play sports in, exercise equipment and much more.
