Categories Comments Great for these types of students TWU is a great school for any one who doesn't want the cost and hassle of the larger universities, but still would like the feel of one. It is a very cozy home away from home. It has a friendly atmosphere, it's not very expensive, and if you are a Health Science major, this is one of the top schools to choose from- especially Nursing and Kinesiology.
Tips for prospective students Apply for financial aid EARLY! Get to know your advisers before classes begin. Visit the campus to see if you feel you will like it there. Talk to current students who are majoring in what you intend to major in.
Bang for the buck TWU is not as expensive as other universities but you learn just as much- if not more!
Am enjoying being here The city is a very college oriented city with both Texas Woman's and Univ. of North Texas being a few miles from each other. There a many things to do since the weekend begins on Thursday night. There are lots of places to eat and there is always something to get into that's affordable and safe.
Am learning a lot Every teacher will take the time to help their students if you let your presence be known to them. They will help you to reach your goals and better understand the course material. If you introduce yourself to them and show genuine interest in passing their class, they will keep their eye on you and be very helpful. In addition to learning inside the class, you learn alot about how other people from different backgrounds differ from yourself and it helps to make you a more well rounded person.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students interested in Nursing or any other medical major. Students who are serious about their education. Students who do not find homecoming and football games important Commuter students: TWU is a great school for commuters who live in the area. Students with a family or Nontraditional students: This school is no stranger to nontraditional students. I had a woman in my class who was 55 and we are great friends today! We also have a daycare and a playground for children. However, I would not recommend the daycare because I have heard that they cost too much money and only watch your children for a small amount of time. I still say this school is great for students who have a family because our classes teach so much about family structure, and child development.
Tips for prospective students Find friends that have your same goals in mind. Watch who your friends are because you do not want to have conflict in a small school this can make things uncomfortable and awkward when you run into someone you just got into argument with the previous day. Keep yourself busy by joining various organizations and communities around school. This makes you feel better about not going to parties and getting drunk every Friday night. Look for an apartment your sophomore year of college. TWU has a new policy where they will not allow you to live in the dorms if you are 21 or a junior/senior. The on campus apartments can be too hard and very expensive to get into. Get ahead of the game. You are better off finding a cheaper apartment and a roommate to split the cost with in apartments around Denton.
Bang for the buck TWU is not too expensive and they have great financial aid and scholarship opportunities. However, paying for an expensive parking sticker when there is barely parking can make you irritable. Paying over a thousand dollars for a food card when the food hardly changes and does not offer enough healthy alternatives can also make your irritable.
Am enjoying being here TWU is not a party school. In fact, our definition of fun is helping an organization in need or debating about the hottest topic. However, this also means attending this school can feel like all work and no play. If you are not careful, you can overwork and stress yourself out here.
Am learning a lot Pride, dignity, and liberation are words that come to mind when I think about Texas Woman’s University. This school has a personal goal to make sure that every man and woman that attends knows of the struggles woman went through in the past and the subliminal messages that keep them beautifully ignorant today. This school is serious about what it stands for and the education its students will receive. You will be surrounded by educational stimuli everyday. There is no way you can attend Texas Woman’s University without learning something that may change the way you see life forever.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students If you're going for Nursing here, you need to be competitive. This college's main degree I would say is Nursing, which is both good and bad. A
Bang for the buck This is a great deal for a 4-year university! Compared to most others in Texas.
Am enjoying being here The campus is wonderful, it is a very small campus...and you can get from one end to the other in under 10 minutes by foot. Most of the buildings are very old and give it the real college campus feel. Most people are very friendly here and very social.
Am learning a lot I am truly learning a lot here. The teachers are for the most part very helpful and determined not only to get you an A, but to get you to learn.

Tips for prospective students Take yourself seriously! Really work for what you want, and you will excel in all your walks.
Bang for the buck I have been really surprised by the low tuition. The teachers and classes are spectacular, while costs stay relatively low.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love it here! Not only is it a BEAUTIFUL campus, but it's small too! Having a small campus is so great because you never have to worry about being late to class or having to park 5 miles away.
Am learning a lot Every single one of the professors is dedicated to serving you and making your college experience great. They answer any and all questions you throw at them and truly care about how you're doing in their class.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who like old, dirty dormitory's, like being surrounded by 99.9% girls and .1% gay males, like a small country town, and who like being bored out of their minds.
Tips for prospective students Don't attend the school
Bang for the buck Pretty well price school, but you'll be miserable there.
Did enjoy being here School is majorly BORING!! One maybe two events held a year, and you must have a social life through North Texas University which is two minutes away.
Did learn a lot Some professors really did step out of their way to help students. Also class sizes are tiny so you have a easier time concentrating and learning.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are competitive academically TWU is the school for you. We are all students determined to get good grades and hold high achievements.
Tips for prospective students just remember to always keep your focus cap on ,because you are here to work on getting that well earned degree. Make sure to have everything organized so deadlines are not missed. Form study groups if you need help studying. Always remember to have some time for yourself. You'll need a break in between sometimes so don't stress!!!!
Bang for the buck This is very inexpensive. I don't have any scholarships but it's very manageable for me. Compared to other schools the cost is GREAT!!
Am enjoying being here If you love what you're doing then everyday is enjoyable here. As a Music Therapy major, my classes are very enjoyable and hard working. Class is such a friendly environment.
Am learning a lot I have learned so much in my freshman year here it's AMAZING. The teachers are great and are willing to help you with any problems you are having. There are centers to go to for writing help and much more.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Texas Woman's University is a great school for any type of student. There are many programs to help you find help if you need it or just a place to turn to if you need to talk. They offer everything you need.
Tips for prospective students You'll love it here. There are so many organizations to get involved with and help you find your home here. Everyone you meet will make you feel so welcome. This place is home to many now and we're just waiting to open our doors to whoever else would like to join our big family.
Bang for the buck The cost to attend is not that bad either. It's definitely not as expensive as most schools but its not real cheap. I come from a family with not a lot of money, but Texas Woman's University is definitely worth every penny we pay.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love Texas Woman's University. It's a beautiful campus and the staff here is amazing. Everyone is so nice and they do everything possible to help you with anything you need. I am very happy with my choice to go here. It was my first and only college choice, as soon as i took my tour of the campus all other choices went out the window. I knew that this is where I belonged.
Am learning a lot I am learning more here then I thought I would. I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up, but the teachers here are amazing. They really know how to explain things in a way that you can understand.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I believe TWU and Denton, TX is an awesome place for first time students especially. The campus is small and not overwhelming and there are many clubs and organizations that cater to any and everyone (its also a great way to meet people). The dorm life is welcoming with many activities right in the dorms. I also recommend TWU for students with families (there is family housing available right on campus) and for International students (they really cater to them here with the International Student organization, and the fact that there are many students from outside the US).
Tips for prospective students I recommend coming to visit, if you go to the website there are many, many opportunities for open house. At open house you get to tour the campus, check out the dorms and really get a feel for the campus and ask questions. Visit Denton and drive around to get familiar with it. Learn where Walmart, Target and other popular stores are. If you are car-less, learn the bus schedule and stops.
Bang for the buck Tuition does go up every year, but what college doesn't? Right now for Fall 2011, tuition and fees for undergrad resident students taking about 12 hours (full time) is $2,714.32. That is not including housing. You can check it out here: http://www.twu.edu/bursar/6107.asp
Am enjoying being here I started out at the Denton, TX campus, and I loved it! I love the diversity of the student body, people from all walks of life and even from outside the US. The campus is small, and really gorgeous with flowers and trees and benches to sit on. Every building can be walked to easily. The transit system is free for college students. Also the nightlife is pretty nice, and there are little places to have fun at, like the Town Square, with little shops and thrift stores. The food places are amazing, and many places give student discounts (ask about it!). It has that small town feel, which I love, seeing as how I am from Houston. Also, Fort Worth and Dallas are only 45 minutes away.
Am learning a lot I went to this school for the nursing program, which they are well known for. Its challenging, but there are so many resources to get help, like the SLRC for science classes and the Write Site for when you need help with your essays and the Math Lab which are full of graduate students to help you. The teachers welcome you coming to their office hours (my Chemistry professor helped me not fail :). I believe that when I graduate I will feel equipped and not feel like I missed out on something.

Tips for prospective students You should apply for the Honors program. They're nice and like to keep tabs on how you are doing.
Bang for the buck I got the Honors scholarship and it pays for a lot of my tuition. They require a lot from you, though!!
Am enjoying being here I commute from almost two hours away so I do not have much time to be on campus... However the people are very nice and helpful, and if I could, I would live on campus in order to be more involved.
Am learning a lot As an education major, I am learning nothing!! I have recently switched to a general studies major with concentrations in English, history, and business and I hope to learn more from those classes.

Bang for the buck The tuition is not as expensive as the majority of schools around Texas.
Am enjoying being here The environment and community is small but it is a great way to start off your first year of college.
Am learning a lot I have learned many things in detail that I have already learned in high school.

Categories Comments Greek Life I have never been involved with Greek Life. So, I cannot adequately comment on the subject.
Clubs and Activities As a veteran and new student, I am already receiving emails from other veterans and non-tradional students. This makes the environment warm and inviting. People want to help you meet your goals.
Great for these types of students The university is great for female students, as it was once an all women's college. The university is one of the top, if not the top schools for Adapted Physical Education. The faculty to student ratio is very accommodating.
Bang for the buck I believe TWU provides a top quality education for the cost of attendance.
What to do for fun There are many activities and sporting events held on campus and the City of Denton is very active.
Food and Dining I cannot speak of the food and dining yet, as I have not been on campus. But, I gather it is as acceptable as any other campus I have visited. Food is better when it is first prepared and the later you wait the less options you will have.
Dorm Life I do not plan on living in a dorm as I am a non-traditional student. But, having lived in dorms in college and in barracks and onboard ships in the Marine Corps, patience is a must.
Academic Rigor I have not started classes yet, but I expect since I am in a doctoral program that my classes will be challenging.
Tips for prospective students I recommend communicating with as many people as possible. Communicate in a clear and concise manner. Tell the faculty and staff what you need.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University's application process was simple and straightforward. The faculty and staff have been very professional and accommodating. I am excited to be attend TWU!!

Categories Comments Campus Safety It seems like a safe enough campus, I'd prefer some more lighting, but over all it's fine.
Clubs and Activities The only activities they have are sororities which cost $80 a month
Great for these types of students TWU will be great for students who just want a cheap and easy education without much of a social life.
Bang for the buck TWU is pretty cheap, even for out of state students. If you receive a scholarship of $1000, they give you in state tuition.
Food and Dining The food here is horrible. The choices are limited, and pricey.
Dorm Life The rooms are decently sized, but are definitely not communities.
Academic Rigor I haven't found this school to be challenging. If you do the homework, you will be fine.
In three sentences This University has a pretty campus, but is not for everyone. It is smaller, and hard to get involved. It also has a vast gay population, which may turn people off.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Ambitious, active students of all ages. Great school for occupational therapy and nursing.
Tips for prospective students A friend who was just accepted at TWU recently told me that the people at the college will really push to get you to stay on campus, but as both of us said, why? If you live close by, don't let them pressure you into spending a whole bunch of extra money. Also, tour the campus WAY ahead of time so you can really get an idea of what it's like there!
Bang for the buck You get lots of amenities with your stay at the college, like huge indoor and outdoor pools, a kitchen; a big, beautiful library; you name it. Plus it's a pretty well-recognised school, so having TWU on your resume someday could really pay off.
Will enjoy being here The campus is gorgeous. I can't wait to explore it on my own. It's small, with lots of safety precautions taken, so I don't need to worry about my safety all the time, but has very rich history. Beautiful trees for the hot Texas summers, too!
Will learn a lot Whenever I mention TWU, people tend to respond positively. Almost everyone seems to know about this college. It has a great reputation! And when I looked at the basic course plan for the occupational therapy program, it sounded really exiting. There are lots of internships planned right into the program, and many cool classes. There seems to be a great balance between hands-on and textbook work.

Tips for prospective students Make sure you choose your roommate wisely, make sure you have a good schedule. Meet all your teachers and make sure to take advantage of every opportunity that the school offers you will really appreciate it.
Bang for the buck TWU is a very affordable school they work with you and give out a ton of scholarships which are a benefit and jobs on-campus that could also cover some of the price of the school.
Am enjoying being here The campus is safe, and they have a lot of activities every month. There is almost something to do everyday here. They provide the best and encourage participation.
Am learning a lot TWU is an amazing school. The teachers are helpful and they care about you. With most small sized classes you often get one-on-one time with your teacher. I always due and they have a variety of helpful places you can go to get tutoring.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I think this University is good for all students, but particularly for women who want to challenge themselves. The professors are great, classes are actually rewarding.
Tips for prospective students classes tend to be on the smaller side if you are a junior transferring in from a community college. I haven't been to a freshman seminar but hear they are still really good.
Bang for the buck CHEAPEST IN THE DFW METROPLEX
Am enjoying being here Student life here is pretty good, the sororities are always present in the student union, although I think there should be more than just 3. The Social Work Program is amazing and tution is relatively cheap compared to other universities in the metroplex area.
Am learning a lot Your professors are willing to help you, they are very accessible and it feels more like a small community college that is actually a University. I feel that being around more female students has forced me to be more competitive about my grades and overall this school has been amazing

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The library is beautiful and a great place to study. There is a garden that is so beautiful in bloom during the spring, a pond, and a small little park with huge trees.
What to do for fun Cinemark is $3.50 for students on Thursdays in Denton. Movie tavern is a great place to dine and watch a movie as well. During spring semester there is a Jazz & Arts festival which is really fun and low cost and is walking distance from campus!
Food and Dining Mainly food is found in only the student union. There is a buffet on the underground level, chick-fil-a, coffee shop, and garden room on the second floor. The garden room serves pizza, soups, sandwiches, etc.
Dorm Life I loved the dorms and NET (neighbors educated together) and LLC (Living and Learning Communities) help you to know everyone on your floor and take a few classes together to become closer as floormates and friends.
Academic Rigor Depends on you major. I was a Bio major and labs were only 1 credit hour, but required up to 4 hours a week (not including times you can come into lab for extra practice or work).
Tips for prospective students Get a campus job to gain work experience, to network with faculty and staff, and put some money in you pocket. The Honor's Program is really good and Dr. Litton, Beth, and Janie are always willing to help and talk to interested students.
In three sentences TWU is a beautiful campus with a homey atmosphere. I was very satisfied with my experience, and I definitely saved a lot of money attending here. They have a wonderful health science dept. (PT, OT, Nursing, Speech pathology, Kinesiology, Child Dev, etc.).

Categories Comments Campus Safety twu is a really safe community. denton in general is safe, and few residents of deonton rarely lock their door. nothing dangerous really goes on around campus, but i always stay on the safe side. there's an on site police office with patrols on campus, along with various areas where you can go to so that you can alert the police if you are in danger.
Great for these types of students it's great for artistic people like theater majors. it's also known for it's nursing and education program. it's cost affordable compared to other universities. great for nontraditional students. i see so many people who either are older than the normal age group or are mothers with childrn. they have a great program for mother's who need day care during their classes. students who are serious about their education. people who don't find sports and parties important. it is not a party school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus before your first end of the semester exams they have a thing called mignight breakfast.. it starts at ten at night and is over at midnight. they give awy all kinds of cool prizes, have photo boothes, characature artists, and even massages! it's really fun and everyone comes away with something. for halloween they give away bags of candy, and for valentine's day they pass out roses and chocolates to everyone. the holiday celebrations usually happen in the underground. there's so much interesting things to do, and visit on campus. it's a lot of fun.
Bang for the buck the money you pay to attend the school is worth it from your tuiion to the activities that they host. they make sure you get your moneys worth while having a fun time at the school.
What to do for fun the school always has something going on from actuvities in the student union to various speakers visiting the school. they have all kinds of really cool, and unique things for the students that allow you to relax, while getting to meet new people. there's always something going on at least two or three times a month.
Food and Dining the food is really tasy and healthy at the same time. the underground, which is the cafeteria, has a wide selection of food. they provide something for everyone, and tehy make sure that if you have a food allergry or are a vegetarian that you still have food available that still tastes good. they are very clean, and the workers there are really sweet people, and they are willing to help you with whatever you need.
Dorm Life the people in the doors are really friendly. i have yet to hear about any drama between very many people living in them. they are well kept, clean, and very calm. they are a great place to relax after class or work. while it may not be your home you still feel comfortable there.
Academic Rigor they do have some professors that are difficult, but they teach you so much from the actual subject to life tips. they make sure you have the best things to your advantage while making your education there affordable. you must attend you classes regularly in order to pass your tests, and you must read your text books. i have to find a professor i did not like. most professors will help you if you go to them. i like to sit in the front of my classes that way the professor knows my face. it's always a good thing to introduce yourself to them and get involved in the class discussions.
Tips for prospective students make sure the school is within your budget. attend your classes because the professors are great. be sure to check your email a lot because the school holds a lot of free events for the students on holidays, and various other times throughout the year. study for your tests, and don't slack because while some classes may be challenging the things you take from them are life altering.
In three sentences it has a wonderful program for the students, and they make sure that no matter what your problem is to help you deal with it. they have many oppertunities for the students to get involved no matter what it is. they truly care about your education, and about your well being.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very well light and one of the safest campus out there. There are emergency call booths all over campus, so if you do not feel safe, do not hesitate to hit the button on the booth and a cop will come and escort you back to your car or dorm.
Greek Life There are 3 main Greek sororities and many other sororities on campus, such as a Latino sorority, and African American sorority, etc., which are all Greek. Being in a sorority is a great way to get involved on campus, meet people, and looks great on resumes. Plus it is a lot of fun!
What to do for fun The Denton square is fun, great food, bars (if your of age), and an amazing ice cream place called Beth Maries. There is a studio movie grill type place on University that is fun, along with a movie theater in Lewisville that has College Night on Thursday.
Food and Dining I learned at an orientation day that the university plan was the way to go, and I stuck with that my 4 years of under grad, and I recommend that. Also, anytime there is a midnight breakfast during exam week...go! It is so much fun, relaxing, and free food!
Dorm Life It has it's pros and cons. I hated it until my very last roommate my first year. My last roommate and I got along great. I think the key to having a good experience with a roommate is setting boundaries and setting rules with one another.
Academic Rigor It's college! There are project's, papers, tests...and its tough, but if you use time management and a planner/calender you will be fine. Just relax and make some time for your self as well as focusing on school work.
Tips for prospective students The best advice I have is to become active in anything that interests you on campus! A few years ago the campus would be dead on weekends because everyone goes home on weekends, but there are still activities planned. It is a great way to meet people and get to know the city of Denton.
In three sentences TWU has some of the best teachers I have ever experienced. Through my classes and the sorority I joined I met some of my best friends I have ever had at TWU. I received my undergrad degree here and am returning to take more prerequisites here before going off to graduate school, because I know TWU will prepare for my future.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus police are very active and are easy to get a hold of. There are emergency stations all over campus that alert the station of the emergency and its location.
What to do for fun Shopping, site-seeing, photography
Dorm Life The two major dorms on campus are Stark and Guinn Hall. The former is 21 stories high and the former 24 stories high. They can be noisy during the week, but on the weekends most students go home.
Academic Rigor The school is challenging but it is personally satistifying work.
Tips for prospective students Students need to actively seek out relationships with professors in order to learn effectively as well as provide character references. Attack the first semester as if your life depends on your grades, because in the long run it does. Do not get too carried away with the freedom you have.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University has a warm environment to encourage academic and personal growth. The professor to student ratio is low, which enables close teaching relationships to increase academic potential. The campus is beautiful and historical.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe. There is a police station on campus and officers patrolling all the time.
Bang for the buck This isn't a very expensive school so I believe it is worth every penny to go here.
What to do for fun Besides hanging out with friends on campus there are outside activities that students can do for fun. There are movie theaters, bowling alleys, clubs, and hang-out spots all around Denton.
Food and Dining While there aren't a lot of good on campus choices for food there are plenty off campus. There is a strip with places ranging from McDonald's to Cracker Barrel.
Dorm Life Dorm life has some issues but it is all around a great experience. The rooms and buildings are nice and most of the people are good to live with.
Academic Rigor Great
Tips for prospective students Make sure you understand that this school is mainly women and if you are uncomfortable with that then it is something to think about. If you are truly here to lean then utilize all the resources on campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety TWU has the best security on the campus. You will feel very safe being on the campus. Everyone is friendly, and nice to one another.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus has a beautiful scenery. There's a gorgeous blue water fountain near the library, a relaxing trail to walk along, a stunning chapel called The Little Chapel in the Woods, which is where many weddings are held, and a tranquil pond to sit near when you need peace and quit.
Bang for the buck Texas Woman's University has one of the lowest tuitions in the state of Texas for a university. This is one of the reason's why I attend the school.
What to do for fun In the student union, there's a pool table, a Foosball table, and air hockey in the Underground.
Food and Dining If you love food, you will enjoy the meal plans at Texas Woman's University. Especially upstairs in the student union. There's Chick-fil-a, a garden room full of a salad bar, pizza stand, sandwich stand, and Tex-Mex food stand. And there is also the Underground, where there's a buffet of food to choose from.
Dorm Life It takes about 2 minutes waiting for the elevator, but as long as you have friends within the university, life in the dorms in enjoyable.
Academic Rigor If a studnet truly studies the subject or knows the subject at hand, that student will be successful in that subject area.
Tips for prospective students When scheduling classes, do it as soon as possible because the classes do go fast. Take a mixture of your rigorous courses and your easy courses each year that they can balance each other out. Study at least for 2 hours on a subject so your prepared for your assignments.
In three sentences The environment at TWU is wonderful; it feels very peaceful, relaxing, and you feel comfortable being there. It's a smaller school, but you are able to get to know people better. Finally, the professors there are willing to help with your academics if asked about them.

Food and Dining The food is good. Plenty of options and there is even a store located inside the dorm buildings. Kind of like a 7 eleven
Dorm Life I lived in the dorm my first year and it was okay. I did not personally like living in the dorm because i want my own things. But other than that it was good.
Academic Rigor This campus is all about academics and helping be where you need to be. free tutoring is offered through out the entire semesters
Tips for prospective students Make sure you stay focus and really get to know your professors and your academic adviser personally
In three sentences This college is very academic driven, however fun. The professors get to know you and the campus is pretty small, so no getting lost. I give this college a 8

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Focused, Know what you want as your major. Knows how to be social, but at the same time knows how to be a hard-core studier.
Tips for prospective students The campus is homey, and the city of Denton is homey as well, but on the side note. The people who attend TWU tend to be focused so, the campus is not as active as other schools,BUT there are a plethora of social oppurtunites, you just need to make the most of it. Second note: it is not an all girls school, there are guys here: straight and gay.
In three sentences I loved it here at TWU. The campus is wonderful and I would not have it any other way.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is very safe. There are always policemen going around the campus making sure everything is ok. There are emergency poles everywhere where incase you dont feel safe all you have to do is press the button and a cop will come out. You can also have a policemen walk you around if you dont feel safe.
Greek Life One thing that the campus lacks is a big greek life. Only two frats and a few sororities. But they make the best of it.
Clubs and Activities A lot of different type of clubs so there is something for everyone. Almost every major has a club along with other clubs. There are many activities that goes on.
Bang for the buck Tuition is really cheap and TWU made the forbes top 100 best universities. It feels like you are at a private university but you dont pay a lot to attend. You pay so little for so much.
What to do for fun The RA's are always planning stuff to do. There is always a big activity planned almost every week at the student union. There is plenty to do with all the clubs and organizations on campus.
Food and Dining There is a lot of options for a small campus. Most of the food is really good but you may get tired of eating the same thing very fast. Make sure to try something different so you dont eat the same thing everyday.
Dorm Life If you take the time to meet people living in the dorms will be a great experience. You will meet really good friends in the dorms. There is always something going on so there is no excuse to be bored. The RA's will always be planning fun stuff and they usually give away free stuff at the events so be sure to not miss out.
Academic Rigor Depending on what type of classes you are taking and who you have teaching the material, classes range from easy to hard. Most classes are not too hard and you do learn a lot. Sometimes you do get lucky and have super easy classes.
Tips for prospective students Get to know your classmates to help with assignments. Dont be afraid to go to your professors for help. Get tutoring if you need it and check ratemyprofessor.com when picking out classes.
In three sentences It is a very small campus but perfect learning environment. Everyone is so nice and helpful around here. I feel that going here was the best choice for me.

Categories Comments Campus Safety TWU has an on campus police station and designated posts where security can be there for you at any time of day. The policemen can be seen on campus at times and TWU practices fire drills to keep the entire school in check on such procedures.
Great for these types of students TWU is known for it's tough nursing program. The nursing program i definitely not a joke. My friends that took to it were definitely in it for the long haul when they realized the seriousness of the program. However, seeing as the school is primarily known for nursing, students seeking this education should not be put off by its tough work. This is because so many people will be right along with you, willing to stay up all night and study right by your side.
Bang for the buck It's definitely worth it. TWU offers a lot at a particularily low price. You will definitely get the experience of a college, and yo will in most cases get the good grades as well, simply because TWU offers tutoring for the core courses that trouble students the most. You get your money's worth for your education... what more can a student ask for?
What to do for fun There are several off and on campus activities available to take part in, to have more of a social life definitely join up organizations, and Helping Hands is an especially good organization for those seeking community service hours.
Food and Dining The food is okay, at first the buffet- style may seem like a dream but after a while of eating the same thing over and over, you will definitely want to try the dining upstairs and use your dining dollars for a change up on meals.
Dorm Life Dorm life is very nice, in comparison to other dorms, the TWU campus has very roomy, and comfortable living spaces.
Academic Rigor The classes at TWU definitely aim to achieve, the professors do not expect anything more than your absolute best. So aim high in these classes, doing the minimum eventually reflects in your grades.
Tips for prospective students Sit closer to the front, and get close to the professors, especially in larger lecture classes.
In three sentences TWU has a very beautiful campus. TWU has a very cooperative staff and faculty. TWU cares about it's students and does its best to accommodate them

Categories Comments Campus Safety Never a problem or any reason to feel unsafe on this campus. I have always felt really safe.
Greek Life I have not attended RUSH yet, but I am looking forward getting into a sorority very soon. It looks like so much fun and the work each of the sororities and fraternities do for the different associations is wonderful.
Clubs and Activities Fraternities, Sororities, Pioneer Camps, Family Days and lots more to keep you busy on campus.
Great for these types of students All types of students would love TWU. There is so much to do and everyone is so friendly.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The library is absolutely beautiful with the stained glass on the ceiling. The campus also has a multi million dollar fitness center that offers rock climbing and a large variety of machines.
What to do for fun There are a variety of Sororities and Fraternities offered. They have alot of events on the campus to get everyone together. The fitness club is a great gathering place and also helps you to stay healthy. They have rock climbing and every other machine that you would find in a well rounded gym. There is alot of things to do outside of the campus that is very close.
Tips for prospective students The campus is very nice. Everyone that I have met so far has been very friendly and inviting. There is so much offered at Texas Woman's University that you should be able to decide where you want to go in life and be happy.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate studies with lots of choices of majors. It is a very nice campus with very friendly staff. It is also has a world renown Nursing Program.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is a small campus so you always feel safe walking back and forth. There could be a bit more lighting along the sidewalks to farther buildings like the science building, but overall, you definitely feel safe.
Greek Life I don't really know much about Greek life as I am not a part of a sorority. I know that there are multiple sororities and one fraternity. My roommate and a few friends are in sororities and they love it! They say it is something that definitely helps form tight bonds with other people.
Clubs and Activities There are many options to choose from and, from my own experience, they are great. I am in the Athenian Honors Society (which I absolutely recommend people apply to), HOSA, Helping Hands (a volunteer organization that requires no membership - they have a variety of volunteer projects for the members), and I am also on the Quidditch team! There are so many more to choose from. You just have to find one that fits your preferences.
Great for these types of students Students who are looking for a smaller school that is not too expensive. If you don't mind being in a small town, then this is the place for you! It was not my first choice, but I chose it after some consideration and I am glad I did. The nursing program is amazing as are many others in the health-related field.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None really come to mind. It's really just your usual campus activity life.
Bang for the buck TWU is a relatively cheap school when compared to other universities, but it doesn't feel that way. The school is pretty great and you always get more than enough when it comes to being on campus. It really is quite terrific and I don't regret choosing this school.
What to do for fun There are a lot of organizations you can join for starters. There are also many events that the school puts on which often include games and prizes. If you want to find something off campus to do, it is no problem. Denton is a relatively small place so things are walking distance. You can also take the bus, which is free for students. My friends and I usually take the bus to Denton Square which is a little plaza that has many places to eat (Ramen Republic and Beth Marie's to name a few) and other things like a comic book store and a theater. I love going down there!
Food and Dining There aren't too many options on campus to choose from, but the places that are there offer a wide variety of food. The dining hall in the student union can get crowded at time, though. Upstairs is a little quieter. They offer more restaurant-type foods there, such as grilled burgers, taco salad, and sushi. Yum!
Dorm Life I joined a NET the first year which was like a little community on your floor. I was in the nursing NET so all of the people on my floor were nursing majors and we were signed up for a few of the same classes. By having that support system, you find it easier to study and find people that share a common interest. Though I am no longer in the NET, the friendships I formed will last a lifetime. I don't give a higher rating on here because there are a few flaws with the dorm establishment itself, but they shouldn't deter you from living in a dorm. Dorm life is part of the college experience and, although the walls may be thin and the printers not always loaded with ink, it will be a great experience.
Academic Rigor I feel that with any college you attend there will be classes that are a bit harder than others. At TWU, there are so many wonderful professors that take the time to help you and motivate you to do well in your studies. If you try hard and do your best, you will succeed.
Tips for prospective students Keep an open mind when it comes to attending college, even if it isn't TWU. I know that it is a nerve wracking time in your life, but you will come to find that this experience is one to cherish. This campus is truly amazing and it makes you feel safe, so go out there and explore. There are so many clubs and organizations offered that will make you feel like you have found your niche. Don't see one that catches your eye? It is so simple to start your own and find people with common interests.
In three sentences TWU is an amazing school with a wonderful atmosphere. I grew fond of this school because of the small campus that feels like a home and all of the great professors that they have to offer. I never thought that I would feel comfortable away from home, but this school, along with the honors program, has made this possible.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I've been to campus at 6am and there until after midnight. I have never had any concern for safety on campus. It's a decent size campus, but everything is compact and close - not overwhelmingly so, but close enough you don't feel like you are walking in the middle of no where late at night. Plus, campus security is an actual police station and they are always around!
Greek Life They have it, I just know little about it.
Clubs and Activities You can get involved, and challenge others to get involved.
Great for these types of students Art, Dance, Health Sciences, Science, PreMed, History
Bang for the buck The Nursing Program is phenomenal at TWU. I know that I will graduate and be seen as one of the best of the best in my field. Professors will challenge you, but they WILL teach you. I couldn't have chosen a better university to complete my degree.
What to do for fun Campus always has great activities - Maya Angelou this last spring semester, Easter Egg Hunts, an awesome new rec center with a great climbing wall, beautiful pools. Then there are venders throughout the semester - Eyebrow threading, massages, candles, etc. These are just the on-campus activities. Just outside the metroplex, there are numerous nightlife options!
Food and Dining Chic-fil-A on campus, great salad bar and many choices for the buffet style cafeteria. Plus, if you are in between classes, 2 of the larger buildings that classes are held in have small bistro style eating areas. Great coffee, bagels, pastries, sandwiches and salads! And most importantly, prices are not inflated!
Academic Rigor Again, you will be challenged. D for degree and C for continue may prove to not be acceptable for a TWU education. You will be better because of it, and others will recognize your hard work and determination.
Tips for prospective students If venturing into one of the Health Science Programs - Nursing, Dental Hygiene, etc - remember that it is competitive. Plan your classes accordingly. Pay special attention to Preference classes. Summer is a great time to take A&P 1 and 2!
In three sentences A competitive school that will challenge you to be your best. TWU has amazing, knowledgeable professors, a variety of classes and interests with multiple scheduling options. You can leave TWU knowing that you are not going to be one of those adults that just tries to skate by on mediocracy; you will believe in you, as will others.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has their own police station for your own safety.
What to do for fun There's a small pond that's in front of the gym that's full of turtles. You can bring bread out there and feed them and they'll swarm over and some will climb out of water to eat it. Beware, the squirrels are too friendly and will take bread out of your hands. The Student Union is a hang out area for the students and also TWU just got a pool.
Food and Dining The food was excellent but make sure you go to the new gym they built, because you're definitely not going to go for the healthy option of eating.
Dorm Life Join the Living Learning Community for dorm life. You get to live on the same floor as your major and can ask for help from anyone on the floor. The dorms are extremely small, so find something like a portable shelf that you can have sit above your bed so you have some extra places to place things. Buy stilts to stack your bed because you're going to want to store things under it and I would recommend to buying separation boxes or kits to put your clothes in for the drawers so you can stay more organized and not get them mixed with your roommates. The elevators are slow and certain ones only go to different levels so make sure you read the signs in front of the elevators. You don't want to end up like me who roomed on the top floor in orientation and couldn't get to the room and got frustrated and ended up climbing the stairs.
Academic Rigor I honestly cannot tell you about their academics because I haven't taken any of the classes. I have heard that the chemistry classes are impossible there and it's recommended to take them at a community college.
Tips for prospective students If you visit for orientation, bring something to entertain you. There is no cable or television, and the wii-fi is poor in the building. Bring a book or a laptop so you can read or play games. The toilets don't have much sucking power, I hope you don't mind flushing a few times and in the future, you might want to clean your toilet often if you are living in the dorm. The campus is small and easy to maneuver around, you definitely do not need a car but a bike might be helpful if you want to ride over to the UNT campus. TWU has convenience stores for you to buy what you need.
In three sentences I love the feel of the campus at Texas Woman's University. The architecture is lovely and it brings you back in time to the days of a school where only the elite would study. The dorms are small and slightly crowded and the elevators are terrifying and confusing at first but the options they have for living there are nice. When you first step on campus for orientation, you are immediately greeted with smiles and the energy and activities they have planned for you are fun.

Dorm Life The Houston campus does not have dorms.
Academic Rigor There is no choice but to study with rigor.
Tips for prospective students Study hard and you will succeed.
In three sentences I love this school. It's a hard nursing school, but one of the oldest in the country and one of the most respected. I highly recommend it to people looking into becoming a nurse.

Food and Dining When I went there for a couple of tours the food wasn't bad. Whenever there is a special event they have a lot of variety of foods. It's really nice.
Dorm Life I stayed in a dorm during orientation and it wasn't to bad. The good part is you and your roommate get your own bathroom so you're not having to share with a bunch of people.
Academic Rigor Haven't started school yet so not so sure.
Tips for prospective students Haven't started school yet so not so sure.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I believe the campus safety is pretty good. There are emergency poles all around the campus, and security that come around at night for those late classes that students have. They are also good on alerting any threat to the campus whether health related or safety related.
Greek Life There are only a few Greeks on campus, and unfortunately they do not have their own houses. Greek life is not a very important factor on campus, but you will hear about them and the activities that you can participate in.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities on campus. There is something going on just about everyday, and something for every type of student. They also work meetings around classes and other schedules.
Great for these types of students There are leadership programs, math clubs, history clubs, and Greek life. Also, there is a Net program that puts you in a dorm with people who have the same major and take the same classes as you for better study groups and advisors.
Bang for the buck Texas Woman's has a great gym that is free for students. Students get to ride the city bus for free with ID, and the C-store is good for late night snacks, bathroom necessities, and supplies with dining dollars!
What to do for fun Although Denton is a small town, there is a bowling alley that has discount days for students, there is downtown Denton with thrift stores and other attractions, and there is also a cheap movie theatre with a discount for students also, and any activities on campus or at North Texas down the street.
Food and Dining Food and dining are not the best. Chick fil A will be your best friend, until you get tired of it. The cafeteria food could be better, along with the hours that it is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Dorm Life Dorm life is different than other schools I have visited, but they are better in a sense of making friends and joining study groups with the other students on your floor.
Academic Rigor The school is a challenging one, but some classes and teachers are easier than others. Good study habits are definitely recommended and stay focused to succeed in classes.
Tips for prospective students If a student would like a small ratio for teacher to student, this is a great school. There are also many activities to be involved in and the campus is safe. The school is mainly women, and can be a little over-whelming at times, but they should be alright.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a great school for nursing and kinesiology, and even other majors such as business or music. I would rate the school an 8 out of 10. The school is fairly smaller than others, but big enough to enjoy yourself.

Categories Comments What to do for fun You can walk down university drive and go shopping or to the movies. There are many activities around the campus. Be involved!
Food and Dining Food isn't the greatest for orientation or pioneer camp but the offers available around campus are pretty good.
Dorm Life Awesome roommates, had some problems with a triple room so had to break some rules, but overall the dorm experience is all on the student that is living there.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to get a tour before entering the school or you'll get lost easily!
In three sentences It is extremely pretty. Getting it to classes is a workout, which is a bonus. Downside that you can only use meal plan in one place and everything else takes money.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They're are emergency poles and campus police all around campus. Also, in the dorms, you can only get into them with your student ID. If they're are visitors, they have to hand in their ID's to visit.
Great for these types of students All types of students!
What to do for fun There are all sorts of event. There is a great fit & rec that even has rock wall climbing!! Other things are beach volleyball, basketball, movie nights, ice cream socials, and Septemberfest.
Food and Dining The french fries are the best!! There are healthy options for everyone! They even have vegan and vegetarian options!
Dorm Life LLC (Living learning communities) are a great way to start out as a Freshman. They help you interact with other LLC members and make you feel at home. There are also lots of activities and study groups you can join.
Academic Rigor Like I said, classes are pretty simple, for now, but they keep you thinking.
Tips for prospective students Keep a journal or schedule of all the assignments so you never miss anything! Bring a bike for when you're running late to class, you can just ZOOM to class!
In three sentences Since the campus is all close together, it makes my classes much easier to get to. The food options on campus are really delectable. The classes are simple but at the same time, they get you thinking.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities I love HOSA and every year there is new stuff to check out!
Great for these types of students T-Dub loves all walks of life!
Bang for the buck If you want to get bang for your buck, don't even bother buying books from the campus book store its too expensive try using Chegg or Amazon.
What to do for fun What my friends and I love to do for fun is to head over to the gym and play some basketball and chill. Sometimes on hot summer nights I love to hang out by the fountain and read my books.
Food and Dining The adjustment from my parents home cooking to school food was hard, but gradually you will learn to love new things. The cookies at the Student Union are the best!
Dorm Life The dorm life, is an experience everyone should go through. Be prepared to miss your folks even if you think you will not, believe me you will a lot!
Academic Rigor As far as academic rigor, be prepared for some ups and downs. Some classes will have an easy structure but some unexpected class will demand a lot from you.
Tips for prospective students My advice for prospective students is to form friends quickly and be out going, so you can make good cohesive study groups. Social relations is an important concept students must grasp prior to classes. Also most importantly do not be shy to be your self, if you have a question in class ask it and ask it loud and proud. Never act like someone else so you can fit when we all are born to stand out.
In three sentences I love the my T-dub family, the love and positive energy I am surrounded by makes me feel confident and proud of my university. The academic life and the social life are valued at an equal, so as a student I have an equal balance of both world. My favorite place at the TWU campus is the library because as you study in a quite and safe place you are taken back by the beautiful history of TWU, America, and current events that as student we do not have time to notice.

Clubs and Activities There are a vast majority of clubs and organizations to join. One in particular that I absolutely love is Project REV which is advocating ending Relationship Violence.
Great for these types of students Anyone willing to learn and pursue a career and better your lives.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an absolutely beautiful garden where you can sit, eat lunch or just hang out with your friends and enjoy the peace and the beauty.
Bang for the buck It is definitely worth every penny.
What to do for fun There are so many organizations you can join either for fun or to be a help to someone. There is a game room in the Student Union building and there is a great fitness and recreation center.
Food and Dining I love the food and the dining experiences.
Dorm Life I have heard Dormitory living is good although I am a commuter student.
Tips for prospective students Be ready to learn and not just goof off. The programs are intense but in the end, it will definitely be worth it.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is an excellent college to attend. There are great instructors, programs and organizations to join. There is no discrimination and I, personally am thankful for that and also for the allowance of smoking on campus.

Academic Rigor All depends on the professor.
Tips for prospective students Allow extra time for network issues, and always try a workaround or log-on again- both the registration and online class environments are twitchy!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel safe walking everywhere on campus.
Greek Life I know very little about this but I have a friend who is in a sorority on campus and absolutely loves it.
Clubs and Activities There are always signs around campus for different clubs and organizations.
Great for these types of students Driven, hardworking, intelligent students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The midnight breakfast is an interesting tradition... can't say I'm a fan of staying up late for food but the prizes make it worth it.
Bang for the buck It's one of the more reasonable priced colleges. I have enjoyed going here and can't wait to attend next semester.
What to do for fun The campus is close to the Denton square, UNT, and there are lots of other things close to campus to do (bowling, movie theaters, shopping, there's even places somewhat close to hike, etc.)
Food and Dining It's cafeteria food... but since the school is so small me and my friends have gotten to know everyone who prepares the food.
Dorm Life Love it. I live with one of my best friends and we have a blast.
Academic Rigor My classes have been challenging but worth the struggle.
Tips for prospective students Apply for on campus housing early, don't do the university meal plan (in my experience the 8 meal a week plan is best), and if you take U.S. History take Professor Hawkes' class.
In three sentences This school is even better than I expected it to be. The class sizes are small as well as the number of students but I love it. Because TWU is so quant the campus feels very much like home and I'm glad I chose to attend this campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus is fairly safe. We have few reported serious crimes, and likely few serious crimes. We get some burglary and theft, but little else. We have our own police department and they will escort you if you don't feel safe.
Greek Life There are several sororities on campus. I don't know much about them because I was never interested in Greek life.
Clubs and Activities It is difficult to limit yourself in your activities because there are so many great ones! We have service related clubs, academic related clubs, and interest related clubs. If we don't have it, you can start one, with a little work.
Great for these types of students There is a large non-traditional student population. Many students are married and/or have kids. Ages range from late teens to late sixties. Most students commute.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus On Family Day, they hold armadillo races.
Bang for the buck The price is fairly low for a University. You still get smaller classes, but some are not offered every semester. The fitness and rec center is new and very nice and free for students.
What to do for fun Around campus, there are several good restaurants, even within walking distance. We have a local theatre and many little shops on the Square (downtown). Recycled books is a great used book store in an old opera house. Denton Square Donuts, Beth Marie's Ice Cream, and Jupiter House are great places to meet up with friends. Zera's Coffee is also a great place to study. Many study groups meet there.
Food and Dining There are few dining options on the weekends. Most people go home, so there is such a small demand that most places close. The main dining area (the Underground) does not always have fruits available. On average, their food is mediocre. The other dining services have slightly higher quality food, but lines develop quickly when classes get out.
Dorm Life Periodically, the Resident Hall Association hosts a game night or movie night. You are supposed to have floor meetings or parties regularly, but due to schedules, they rarely have a high turnout. The elevators in the towers (21 and 24 stories) often get bogged down during peak hours and sometimes you must take the stairs.
Academic Rigor The academic standards vary from professor to professor, but overall, there are semi-high expectations. Major specific classes have higher standards for achievement, especially education and science fields.
Tips for prospective students Pack rain boots or other waterproof shoes. Go to class and take notes. Talk to those who have previously had your professor to get tips on how to best study for his or her quizzes and tests. Take advantage of the Write Site, Math Lab, and other academic resources.
In three sentences Most TWU classes, especially ones specific to your major, are small (25-30 students). This helps you get to know those in your field and not get lost in a sea of people. Because there are an abundance of student organizations from which to choose, it is easy to get involved and meet people.

Categories Comments Campus Safety From my dorm room, I often see the TWU police patrolling the parking lot. There is also security stands on campus if you are feeling uncomfortable. The campus is well lit at night.
Clubs and Activities The clubs are friendly and host free events. At these events they provide free food, and allow people to meet others.
Great for these types of students Students that want to learn, not party through school. Students that want to enter into a great nursing program.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is the Pioneer Woman, whose model was a man because women were not allowed to be models when it was sculpted.
Bang for the buck TWU is a very affordable school and comes with a great education. I know it has one of the top nursing programs, and it has a lot of other great programs. An option available is Study Abroad, with lots of activities to participate while there.
What to do for fun TWU does not have a lot of parties on campus. If you want to party, you need to go to UNT. In downtown Denton there is the Square, which has a lot of neat little shops and restaurants.
Food and Dining There is the Underground, which is a dining hall for students. They have good food, and if you don't like what they are serving there is a line with hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc.
Dorm Life The dorms are well insulated and the view is great. My only complaint is that the walls are thin, and I can hear my neighbors talking.
Academic Rigor I was challenged to succeed in my classes.
Tips for prospective students Keep your GPA up and apply for all the scholarships possible.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a great school. It is a small university and everyone is friendly. They also offer great scholarships and the cost is very affordable.

Food and Dining They have a nice cafeteria, however it can be crowed.
Dorm Life I never stayed in the dorms
Academic Rigor Most of my classes for Biology and Psychology were taught by Graduates or grad. students.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in campus activities.

Dorm Life The dorm rooms are a good size and the convenience store in the buildings are wonderful! There is a kitchen in each dorm and multiple microwaves in the dorms also. Dorm life for me was great!
Academic Rigor The classes are fairly easy but a bit challenging if you don't pay attention. The teachers and the student help centers are such a great help.
Tips for prospective students The teachers are amazing, no matter where you are at the beginning of class every understands the material towards the end. They take their time in explaining everything and they are so passionate about what they do.

Tips for prospective students Look for a college that has all things you want in them. Like if you want to be close to home but not too close, college town orientated, and homely TWU is the school for you.
In three sentences I'm currently a Freshmen at TWU they are a boring. It's a good academic based school. But they don't have a lot of school wide activities, so it becomes boring. So, if your more into academics this school would be best.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus is very safe. Not much goes on, but if it does we have emergency polls around campus as well as police officers who are around often.
Greek Life There are a lot of sororities on campus, black sororities included. We currently have 2 fraternities, but our students are able to join sororities/fraternities at our neighboring school, UNT.
Clubs and Activities I think this is one of the best parts of this school. There are A LOT of clubs/organizations to join. We have volunteer organizations and a organization that gets to plan a lot of the school's activities/events.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a ampi theatre that has never been used. I don't know why we have it lol. We also have a creepy headless statue in front of one of our buildings that is great to go explore late at night.
What to do for fun We have concerts from known artists on Valentines and other random days. The best thing is to probably beome really good friends with someone at our neighboring school, UNT, because they're a party school. We do have organizations who volunteer often. Also, there's a country dance club that's pretty popular.
Food and Dining The food choice is not the biggest it could be, but it is okay. We have Chick-Fil-A! We also have amazing coffee and smoothies. Hours should be extended for most places. Also, it's not great for those who can't afford the best dining plan because the smaller plans require you to eat in the cafeteria which is not so great.
Dorm Life The dorms are not the greatest. There are way too many people now so waiting for elevators can take a while. Elevators also break semi often and if you're lucky you'll live in a floor full of loud and inconsiderate students, yay.
Academic Rigor Most courses get harder as you get more into your major, like most schools, but some basic classes can be really hard if you don't have the best professor.
Tips for prospective students Take a tour of the campus to see if you like the way it feels. Also get a look at the current students and weather.
In three sentences This school has great size classes. Teachers are above average, okay maybe 75% of the teachers. The weather is bi-polar.

Clubs and Activities Sports clubs and a great running club to join.
Great for these types of students It's a great school for studetns from different backgrounds and students who are open minded and won't judge.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus During finals, they have stress relievers classes at the library.
What to do for fun There are many clubs and bars to go to a few miles from the school. Dallas is also less than 45 minutes away and it has many different resturants and bars to go to as well.
Food and Dining The food is alright.
Dorm Life The dorms are awesome and are located in a skyscraper.
Academic Rigor Everything is great.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you know what major you want to pursue. TWU is known for their outstanding nursing and PT/OT program, so make sure to get good grades.
In three sentences This school is very diverse and has many different cultures. The campus is small but yet very beautiful. The class sizes are small, but it gives more time to talk with professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety TWU is very safe. there are many safe call buttons located around the campus that will alert security incase of emergency. there are always officers on campus even late at night just in case anything ever pops off.
Clubs and Activities there are many greek life organizations. the AGD Alpha Gamma Delta's are very friendly and helpful.
Great for these types of students students who like that nice warm, homey feeling. students who cannot afford to pay Baylor tuitions. students who value attention and fairness from their professors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there are always suprise events going on inside the dorms. residents assistants will randomly hold floor meetings just to sit down and share stories and there is usually free icecream or pizza provided to attendee's.
Bang for the buck Txas Woman's University was the best choice school for me. even in classes that lecture over 150 students you still get that one-on-one attention that you need sometimes.
What to do for fun there are many organizations on campus and off campus. sometimes TWU and UNT ally to host functions and massive events for college students.
Food and Dining the Undergrounds food is great. there is also various cafe's upstairs.
Dorm Life The dorms at TWU are nicely sized and there is free Internet access in each dorm. if you decide to live on campus it's nice to join a NET and have familiar faces in your core classes that you live close to. its easier to make new study companions and life long pals when living in a NET.
Academic Rigor the classes are somewhat rigorous but the resources here are limitless.
Tips for prospective students if your looking into attending Texas Woman's University, go for it. the campus is beautiful and the tuition is affordable with grants and scholarships.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus is pretty safe. At night, for our safety, they have a lot of lights on and multiple cops patrolling.
Bang for the buck Get the University Meal plan it's a little more expensive but very worth it. There is no way that you will use all your dining dollars in one semester so you don't have to worry about running out! Also this plan gives you more dining options around the campus.
Food and Dining It's not the best here. The only really good thing is the Chick-Fil-a and the Starbucks. In the future in know they are talking about remodeling the food dining so I hope that brings more options!
Dorm Life Dorm life is pretty standard. The rooms are not to small and they just installed wifi. The only down side is that there isn't a microwave on each floor. During the semester they tend to break down a lot from frequent use.
Academic Rigor In the music department the Academics are pretty strong. It's a lot of work but you learn so much and build good relationships with your teachers. This will help in the future when you need reference letters.
Tips for prospective students Stay on top of your grades! If you need help just ask questions. A lot of upperclassmen are going to push for you to get involve your freshmen year. Just make sure you go at your own speed and manage your own work load.
In three sentences The campus is beautiful and there are so many nice places to study. We recently got a new fitness and library!

Categories Comments Bang for the buck If you use the facilities that are offered it is well worth the fees. As for me I do not have time to use the facilities so it is a waste of money.
Dorm Life I do not recommend the dorms unless you pick your room mate. I walked in on her and her boyfriend having intercourse several times. My room was also very small. There was not enough room to open the door entering the room, and there wasn't enough room to open both closet doors.

Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs that that are available on and off campus. There is a bulletin board on campus that will provide up to date clubs and activities that we can be a part of.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus police are seen driving and sometimes walking around campus. They are also available for help late at night when walking to and from one's car. Having them in sight has helped make me feel more at ease and safe on campus.
What to do for fun Chill out at, Zera's, a nearby coffee shop. Shop at local stores. Enjoy some sun and scenery at TWU's campus grounds. Attend occasional music concerts and festivals.
Food and Dining I cook my own meals, but hear that most people don't like the cafeteria food. There is a Chick-fil-A and a few other restaurants for students to eat in place of the cafeteria.
Dorm Life I live off campus, but hear that the dorm life is not too bad.
Academic Rigor This depends on the teacher. Some teachers hardly assign any homework aside from quizzes and tests, and others assign lots of busy work.
Tips for prospective students Communters, get here early for parking! There seems to be limited space and it can be frustrating to arrive a few minutes before class and have to search for 20 minutes before finding a parking space. Transfer students, don't rely on the advisors for everything. Be willing to do some of your own research as well. Some of us other transfer students have struggled at times with feeling like we are almost lost in the cracks and important details get missed out on.
In three sentences TWU is has a somewhat relaxed campus feel with the smaller student body when compared to larger universities such as UNT. For the most part, the faculty are willing to help the students succeed and advance in their studies. I feel like TWU has a fairly large representation of all kinds of minorities, which is good for one to learn to interact with others different from his or herself.

What to do for fun There are a ton of organizations on TWU campus. There is always something to do. Your college experience will be what you make it. My advice is to take advantage of it.
Food and Dining I feel that the dining choices are adequate. I hope that one day that food and dining will expand as well just to provide more options.
Dorm Life I feel that TWU should enlarge the dorms by building new buildings. I say this because every year we have a healthy amount of students that come each year to stay on campus.
Academic Rigor Texas Woman's University feels that academics are very important and they take it seriously.
Tips for prospective students 1. Stay on top of all assignments given out. Procrastination will make life more stressful. 2. Make sure you become involved on campus. There are many clubs and organizations offered at TWU. 3. Graduate!

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is good! But one thing I have heard from my friends experiences and personally mine too, the police officers aren't very helpful. My friend was once walking late at night and saw a police officer. She asked him if he could could escort her to her car because she was scared. But the police officer said, Oh sorry, I am an on-campus police officer, not an off-campus.
What to do for fun It is a really pretty campus! Its amazingly beautiful! My friends and I usually take lots of pics!
Food and Dining I do not like the food given at TWU. I usually bring extra food from home. I can't complain, but I really think TWU should really think about the students, if they have allergies or not, if they can eat that meat or not, and so on.
Dorm Life Dorm life is good! But only in the aspect of having your own schedule. When I say having your own schedule I mean that your parents are not telling you to study, their not making decisions for you. You are making them your self! One very important note: Always be around GOOD company!
Academic Rigor TWU has honeslty helped me make what I thought was impossible to possible. And no one could ever understand that from my perspective.
Tips for prospective students One thing I highly encourage is to go to your professors! Talk to them! They love that! And that helps you a lot! That shows the professor you care about your grades! Something to consider, you don't have to be smart to make good grades, you have to be hard working! Be hard working and always smile! Give yourself breaks from studying and relax!
In three sentences Texas Woman's University has an amazing environment. The professors at this university are willing to help you if you are a hard worker. It has helped me build myself and really understand who I am.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are on campus police every where you look so safety is no issue. if you walk late at night, just know that you will be safe and get back to where you need to be.
Greek Life I would not be able to tell you anything about this.
Clubs and Activities There are many around campus and they update you on them as you walk around, or even if you ask someone in student life.
Great for these types of students They have a Kinesiology, Nursing, and Dental Hygiene degrees that are outstanding for students in that prospective area.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Not too sure about this one.
Bang for the buck the first thing that comes to mind is book rentals. they also have a section for savings around campus too.
What to do for fun They have multiple activities on campus a majority of the time so the fun never ends. they have seasonal festivals, heath fairs and many more things. if you want to do something fun, all you have to do is look in the announcements at the school and you will find something of interest.
Food and Dining I have eaten on campus and all of the food is pretty good. I do not eat in the underground because that is not the type of food i like but they do have chic-fil-a, Mexican food and a sandwich making area, ect. so you have a good variety.
Dorm Life I do not live in the dorms but i have had all night study secession with a few class mates here and there. the times that i was in the dorms were pretty fun times. they are a new home if you live far. I am not able to give the full experience so i will let that be known.
Academic Rigor The only academic rigor that you can get caught up with is class work and assignments. always stay on your A game and you will have no problem with this. Other than that, it is an easy flowing life.
Tips for prospective students Use everything to your advantage. If you need help, then you should get it. also, ask lots of questions anytime you need to.
In three sentences I would have to rate Texas Woman's University at a 7 out of 10. I gave them a 7 because they have been awesome in helping me through school and they are very helpful in general. They have been wonderful so far and i know it will proceed that way.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is the second safest school in the nation. It's quiet and peaceful. We had an occasion maybe once, but other than that it is nice.
Greek Life Sorority life is amazing!
Clubs and Activities Great clubs and extracurricular activities to choose from!.
Bang for the buck I personally feel that the school could be a little better. If it weren't so crowded and they applied the budget where needed a little bit more then the school will be better.
What to do for fun I personally do not do anything on campus for fun. Denton is quiet. Usually some students from our school go to the University of North Texas in Denton to have fun. Some go outside of Denton for fun. Depends on who you are. There are indoor and outdoor pools around so it's pretty nice.
Food and Dining With meal plans you will survive and have fulfilling meals at the buffet. Their food is enjoyable and you have the ability to get Chick-fil-A.
Dorm Life If the rooms were meant for the amount of people they put in them then the living would be comfortable. The campus apartments are okay depending on which ones you get.
Academic Rigor Depending on the teacher, subject, and how savvy you are on the subjects you study (or academics generally) depends on the difficulty. You will have challenging classes but do not let the teacher psych-you-out because of your classification.
Tips for prospective students When you plan to attend college, know for sure what you want to do before you attend college. If you need to go to a four-year school, take your basics in community college or test out of them before you graduate. Stay on top of your things at this school and keep on track with dates.
In three sentences I love Texas Woman's University. However, I wish that they would either expand their space or minimize the amount of students they allow into their university. Classes get crowded too fast and it makes it hard to register.

What to do for fun I would spend time with my roommate talking or watching a funny movie.
Food and Dining FOOD made me gain weight a lot. It was difficult not being able to eat my mom's delicious and wonderful Indian food. I was craving for food made by mom and dad.
Dorm Life It was difficult at first. Leaving home was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Nonetheless, my roommate was understandable and everything went smoothly and we became best friends.
Academic Rigor Academic standard is at the high for those applying to work in the medical field. Twu is highly known to be more in the medical field and other majors/minors are also approachable.
Tips for prospective students Make yourself feel extra special when surrounded by your professors and friends. Don't feel shy but welcome opportunity at each end.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The rec center is where I am at most of the time, they have a basketball court, full weight room, a rock wall, golf course (not in rec) and an outdoor pool, and a sand volleyball court. And when the night comes you can always go to Fry Street, or find a party or kick back, whatever your into. I've known some people who get a little something going on in the dorms, but you have to be careful with that because you can get noise complaints and get busted.
Food and Dining If you go here, take this advice, get the University Meal Plan. If you get one of the ones with the meals and only some dining dollars you will regret it. You can only use those meals at the Underground and the majority of the time, that food sucks. When you get the University Meal Plan you get 1500 dollars that you can spend on anything at the university so its much more worth it.
Dorm Life The dorms are kind of strict with everything. You have to check guests in and they can only be checked in so much in a week, and you only have so many hours in a week you can bring guests in, even if they go to school here but just don't live on campus. And depending on your RA your floor can get kind of boring. A lot of them don't like anything loud going on.
Academic Rigor The classes here aren't to hard. If you go to class and pay attention, then you will be alright in most cases. Just go to class, study for the test, and you can get through the classes here easy.
Tips for prospective students This is a good school to come to. It's not expensive and it's a good learning environment. You can still have fun though because this is a college town. And if you're a guy, just because it's a women's university don't shy away from it. I am a male currently attending here and it's not bad at all.
In three sentences This is a very good medical school. Professor's are very good teachers, and actually try to help you out in most cases where there isn't 200 kids in a class. And in all it's just a good college in a good town. I recommend it.

Categories Comments What to do for fun It's limited. You can go to the square. Denton's downtown is small but comfy. You can always got to UNT's events without a problem. TWU does not have parties, so people migrate to North Texas. Our mall, Golden Triangle, is a small thing that we have come to accept. It could be better, but it also could be worse. You can go to the movies, bowling, out to eat with friends, I mean you won't die of boredom if you look in the right places.
Food and Dining The dining experience is mediocre. The Underground is far from a five star restaurant, but we as students take what we can get. However, I will have to be honest and say that after eating there once, I doubt you will try and go back a second time. That's what I tell incoming students to get the University Plan that consists of all dining dollars that you can use anywhere around the campus instead of having meal plans which will force you downstairs to the Underground. The Garden Room is basically like A La Carte. It has a variety. The only fast food place we have is Chik-Fil-A which your dining dollars can also be used at.
Dorm Life There are three halls. Jones, Stark, and Guinn. Jones has a community bathroom which tends to make it peoples last choice. Jones is also further away from the towers (Guinn and Stark) which also houses the C Store. But Jones is not bad, I just wouldn't leave there. Guinn is a co-ed dorm, meaning both guys and girls stay there. This tends to be people's first choice, for the visiting hours are less stringent than that of Stark. It has 24 floors, and Stark has 21, if I am not mistaken. Stark is an all girls dorm, and the visiting hours are til 1AM on weekdays, and 24 hours on the weekends, starting Friday.
Academic Rigor Academically, TWU excels. With its many facilities like the Math Lab, SLRC, or the Write Site, it gives you many opportunities to try and help yourself get toward that 4.0. Being that there is not much around Denton, there are not a lot of distractions as well. The professors here are great at helping students and replying back in a timely manner. When it comes to TWU, academics is their first priority.
Tips for prospective students If you are coming looking for the 'college life', TWU is not for you. Try UNT. There activities are limited, being that most of the students going here are women. I would also say make sure your priorities are in place. You think you have so much time, but in reality you need to spend it on studying. All in all, TWU is a great starting place to get focused if you are considering to transfer.
In three sentences TWU is a great place for education, especially those pursuing degrees in nursing, kinesiology, and dance. The classes are smaller and personal, and the communication with your various teachers is more than accessible. TWU offers many facilities that can only improve your knowledge.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This is a predominately woman campus so the crime rate is very low. The police officers get very bored because there is little crime.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The gardens at TWU are a very popular spot for pictures, picnics, weddings, and relaxation. The surrounding high school campuses will come to the gardens to take senior/prom pictures.
What to do for fun I am a collegiate athlete so my schedule is very limited. When I have free time I like to work out or visit the many local spots in Denton that TWU is very close to.
Food and Dining There are not as many food choices at this campus, but the food it does provide is satisfactory. Some items taste don't taste good while others are delicious. I do not have a meal plan and I do not eat in the cafeteria.
Dorm Life I do not live in the dorms.
Academic Rigor Because this campus is so highly rated for success, the school has challenging classes. Not every class is the same, but if you are serious about getting in your chosen career field then it is important to focus on your studies.
Tips for prospective students It is important to follow the syllabus and turn in assignments on time. Attend all classes even if they're not mandatory. This campus has a multitude of resources that students pay for in their tuition to help them progress through the years. There are Living Learning Communities on campus to help new students prosper and get to know the campus with other new students so no one is alone.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a great school for health studies. This campus is beautiful as well as functional because the buildings are all in walking distance. This school will benefit me for my future career.

Categories Comments Food and Dining There are two meal plans, one is dining dollars and the other is a meal plan with some dining dollars, and both plans are different. Dining dollars are used for your food, snacks, and anything else you want just because it is money, and the meal plan with dining dollars is used for the cafeteria and there is not much dining dollars that comes with it to use for the fast food they have so you have to use it wisely.
Dorm Life The dorm life is very fun and cool to experience because you meet your neighbors and have meetings to get to know each other a bit more. Your roommate might end up being your best friend and a good study buddy. The only disadvantage is that if you want a friend to roommate with you, you have to request them ahead of time because there is not much room and opportunities.
Academic Rigor At TWU you have to be responsible because if you don't then you get behind in classes. It is tough to try to catch up depending on what kind of classes you have and how much credit hours it is counted for because in a three hour class you may miss a lot of information. Putting yourself up for success is the best way to get through most of your work.
In three sentences I rate Texas Woman's University as a good school just for the fact that the campus is a little small. It is a school were more girls attend and less guys, but they want to change it to both girls and guys. Most of everybody knows someone because of the campus being small and friendly.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for students serious about the medical field. It is also good for students who are looking for an affordable school that offers top education.
Bang for the buck The school is fairly affordable and is one of the less expensive schools in the North Texas area. The education is absolutely great, and the school is well known for its nursing program. It partners with Collin College in order to make transferring a little easier on prospective students.
What to do for fun There is fairly new gym built on campus that has an indoor walking track. The gym has classes everyday from Yoga to self defense classes. The school also has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool as well as a rock climbing wall. The school is within walking distance to UNT and is fairly close to the Denton Square where there are many activities to participate in there.
Food and Dining The food in the student union is fairly good. They have Chik-Fil-A and a Starbucks. There is a cafeteria with different kinds of foods. The underground also provides meals, but I prefer to eat on the top floor of the student union. There is a lot of variety from salads to tacos to pizzas and more.
Dorm Life There are many dorm opportunities at this school. They have the two large buildings that overlook Denton. There are apartments all around the area.
Academic Rigor Professors expect you to do your part in your education. They will not hold your hand all the way till graduation. Attending class and being prepared for quizzes can be the difference in a letter grade.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should prepare for each lecture by reading ahead in their notes because the professors here want the class to engage in discussion. Attendance is important to each class. Some professors teach material that is outside of a book. There is always new information to be shared and it is the professor's job to teach something more than a book can teach a student. The school tries its best to have fun activities and it is best to be involved in the fun in order to enjoy the college experience.
In three sentences The school has a small classroom setting, so students have a stronger relationship with the professor. The students are serious about their future and their work, so there are a lot of hard workers at this school. The professors try their best to get their students to understand the concepts in class by making themselves available outside classroom times.

Tips for prospective students Teachers shape you in a perfect way that you dreamed for.
In three sentences Located on Medical Center Houston, it gives an opportunity for students to deal with real situations on Health Care System. TWU focuses on team approach for the students to get educated. We, students, feel the parenting touch along with their roles from the professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The police office is open 24/7, which is great. They can escort you back to your dorm or apartment complex.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs on campus and getting involved is easy. There are many opportunities in becoming a great student, both academically and as a volunteer.
Great for these types of students Those who are entering college as a freshman straight out of high school, it's a small campus and the classroom size is less that 100.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The water fountain is the best place to relax and enjoy a bit of sun.
What to do for fun Downtown denton is great to visit for an ice cream or just a walk about town. There are many activities to do if you look around town.
Food and Dining The food isn't too bad, just wished they had more options available.
Dorm Life I met my best friend living in the dorm. It's a great experience when first starting college away from home.
Academic Rigor The grades are posted accordingly and the professors are approachable.
Tips for prospective students Enjoy the small campus because other campuses are huge. The longest walk to a building is between 5 to 7 minutes.
In three sentences Overall, the university is a good small place to receive an education. Some of the class offerings are once a year which is a bummer to those of us who plan on graduating in the spring. Every one on campus is friendly and buildings are easily found.

Categories Comments Food and Dining Food here is average as well, nothing spectacular. The biggest complaint that I have is that during peak lunch time, between twelve-thirty and one o'clock, every eatery is swamped with students. If you have an eleven o'clock class that releases late, you're basically stuck grabbing your lunch on the way to your next class or waiting for awhile.
Dorm Life Dorm life is average. In my opinion, the more you put into it, the more likely you are to get something out of it. My objective was to attend school and graduate as quickly as possible, so I chose not to get involved.
Academic Rigor The online classes through TWU require very little brain power; they're more time consuming than anything else. The science classes I have taken, however, require much more focus and dedication to learning the material thoroughly on one's own time.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Police men are always out at late hours to make sure you get to wherever you plan to reach safely. I admired this of the campus because it made me feel safe to leave at such late hours from the campus due to any reason.
Clubs and Activities There are many activities and clubs that you can join and they are definitely not a waste of time!
What to do for fun There are many activities that are free of cost every week on campus. The rec center alone is a great place to relieve stress and walking the campus is a great view on any given day.
Food and Dining Food and dining is great at Texas Woman's University! There is a variety of food places and food choices in their dining area.
Dorm Life I did not personally live in their dorms but did visit them occasionally and they seemed to be well taken care of and provided students with what what needed such as a kitchen and late hours in a computer lab.
Academic Rigor In the academic aspect, apart from a few professors, the student does receive what they pay for. Academics is a main priority for professors at this campus and they sincerely go out of their way to make sure you comprehend what is being taught in their lectures.
Tips for prospective students Get familiar with the campus so you can make it to class on time on the first day of class. Get to know your professors so they know you on somewhat of a personal level. Take advantage of what you pay for that's included in your tuition rate.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a great school with a low tuition rate. The campus is small making it not a hassle to get to classes on time. The professors are always there to help at respected office hours.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Texas Woman's University is known for their Nursing program. The classes you take can be quite difficult but as long as you try, work hard, and study you will do great!
What to do for fun For fun you could go to the gym or just hang out with friends. The university also creates different events throughout the year that you could possibly attend, such as sport games, movie nights, fairs, or other stuff. If you join organizations, they too come up with many fun things to do.
Food and Dining The food is not all fancy either, but you need to eat in order to survive. Some of the stuff you will like and others you just might not. Again, it all depends on your food preferences. There are also a couple of places within the university for you to decide what you want to eat that day.
Dorm Life The dorms are not the best, or as modern, like others. Some are a bit smaller than others and you only have one restroom to share with your roommate. However, they are comfortable enough to help you survive your college years. It really all depends on which building you decide to stay in because they are not all the same.
Academic Rigor Texas Woman's University has really good teachers on campus. They are there to help you when necessary and many times are available through email and office hours. Some classes are going to be harder than others, but the professors are always there to help. There are also many resources made available by the university and tutors that can facilitate your learning while attending TWU.
Tips for prospective students I would advice future students to get involved in school. The university is filled with many organizations that could be of great benefit to many individuals. I would also advice them to study, study, study! College isn't all that easy, so use the resources that TWU offers.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University has a small campus compared to other universities and, for that reason, it is very relaxing and makes you feel very comfortable. Its campus is also kept very clean and neat. The environment at Texas Woman's University is very calming and soothing because there hardly is any chaos going on.

Dorm Life I was never able to experience dorm life, however; I see all the activities that students participate in and I would have loved to experience it. They have added to the school and also have the ability to work with people that may have children.
Academic Rigor I am a single parent, with a full time job and about to go to school full time from part time. I would say it can be achieved, especially with an online program because they set a deadline and you can work at your own pace to achieve it.
Tips for prospective students Work with an advisor to make sure that you fulfill the requirements for specific programs that interest you. Many of their programs have deadlines that you may have to fulfill in a certain order before you can move on to another.

Greek Life Being a majority women's school, there are lots of sororities on campus but only one fraternity here, that I know of.
Clubs and Activities There are plenty of clubs here to join. For example, HOSA, SGA, tae kwon do, etc...
Great for these types of students If you are a nursing, dental hygiene, kinesiology major, this school is great for you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Having been a student here for almost a year now, I cannot think of any unusual tradition or locations on campus.
Bang for the buck TWU is fairly cheap compared to other universities. If you are low on money but are looking for a university to attend, I recommend TWU.
What to do for fun TWU holds lots of events all semester long. Its pretty hard to make friends here since everybody is already in their own little clique. I suggest joining clubs and getting involved.
Food and Dining Food and Dining at TWU is average. There is not much of a selection.
Dorm Life Dorms are small and Compacted. But living in the dorms is convinient since everything is so close and in walking distance. I've heard a lot of students not liking their roommate here. My experience living in the dorm was good because i had a great RA.
Academic Rigor Twu's classes are rigor some., especially the science classes. However, if you study and do all your work, you will succeed.
Tips for prospective students If you are wanting to go here, keep in mind that you won't get the generic college experience here. Most students are here mainly to get their degree and they're future started. Also, the the ratio to male to female is 1 to 10 so also keep that in mind.

Clubs and Activities SGA, Honor's Program, Greek Life, Fitness and Rec activities (camping, kayaking, horseback riding), volunteer programs, Project REV, sporting events, Residence Hall Association, Art exhibits, Music and Dance performances, Research Symposium.
Great for these types of students A student needs to be hard working, focused, involved to go to TWU. The campus is small so being involved is encouraged and it is not much of a party school like UNT next door so focused students may be interested in the peace and quiet of the campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are gardens for lounging and napping and socializing at. There are haunted tours on campus, a block party, and a spring fling.
Bang for the buck This University is very inexpensive but has a strong program, which is always beneficial.
What to do for fun Join the Honors Scholar Program, SGA, Traveling Abroad, or Greek Life!

Categories Comments What to do for fun Fun for i hang out with my friends in the dorms, at the recreation center, or off campus.
Food and Dining Our dining hall isn't up to my taste but it isn't horrible, the food is just bland. We have other eating commodities though that are way better but also costly.
Dorm Life Dorm life is dorm life. If you have friends then you will always be with them if you don't then you will be by yourself. Are RA's do try to make it enjoyable for everyone with different activities throughout the month.
Academic Rigor Right now I am taking all my basics which seems pretty easy to me but I have heard that they're science classes are rigorous.
Tips for prospective students At TWU science classes are rigorous so don't slack off. Actually study for finials and look at www.ratemyprofessor.com to know how your professor is before you pick that class. My last tip is before you buy your books ask the teachers do you need them and even then don't buy them from the bookstore buy them online.
In three sentences TWU is a small campus with teachers who really care to educate. Teachers here are reasonable with you but you also have to keep in mind that you are no longer a child. There is always something going on on campus for students to get involved in; I would recommend this school.

Clubs and Activities Sororities and many other clubs.
Great for these types of students Students who need to work during college and student who are paying for school themselves or with loans.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None that I know of.
Bang for the buck TWU is one of the most cost effective universities in North Texas. It doesn't have a football team or as big of a campus life as major universities do, but you save a ton of money.
What to do for fun You can join a sorority or other student clubs. There is a very nice and big new gym on campus.
Food and Dining The student union has many options and there is a Starbucks and chick-fil-a on campus also.
Dorm Life I never lived in the dorms at TWU. My friends did though and said it was OK.
Academic Rigor The nursing program is very tough and you need to be committed to school and understand you will have to make social sacrifices.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is great for students who like a smaller school vibe. It isn't a school to go to if having a football team and a huge greek life is important to you. However, the teachers care and the learning experience is great in a smaller class room.

What to do for fun Here at Texas Woman's University they have activities on and off-campus. On campus they have things such as 5k races, sports games, movie nights, speakers, free food for a curtain cause or a holiday. They also have information sessions that involve health, jobs and housing. For off-campus events CAB (Campus Activity Board) take field trips. They have gone to places such as the aquarium.
Food and Dining There is Chick-fil-a on campus and other wide varieties to choose from. They have what is called the Under Ground which is like a buffet for students. Some people say that it's good and others say it's bad, but in my opinion I like eating there. I guess it depends what you eat.
Dorm Life My friends that are living on campus say that they dislike living in the dorms.
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a campus that is focused on your education. They are also very helpful and lead you into the right way to reach your goal. The school advisers are very helpful and are open for any questions that you may have.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has taken an active stand to make the premise more safe for students and faculty. They set up emergency poles that allow people to call in case of trouble, set an alarm off, and notify the campus police of exact location of the individual. It is nice for night classes especially if you are walking out to your car in the dark. They are distanced throughout campus to help students feel safe.
Clubs and Activities There are many things offered through TWU. Each experience is unique and it depends on which club or activity you attend. Some typically at the beginning of the year are overcrowded yet as class loads build up people tend to pick and choose which ones they attend and events can be more fun. When they are not overcrowded it seems to be easier to talk and get to know people.
Great for these types of students It is great for all types of students. The campus is very diverse and has many opprotunities for students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus When sororities are recruiting for students to join they have a dance in the student union on campus. They dance to music and hold a celebration promoting each of the different sororities. It is a fun tradition even if you are just there to watch.
Bang for the buck TWU really has a great tuition price. Most universities are very expensive but TWU is a more affordable university. Students get a good quality education for the price that they pay and if they take the time to invest in their education when it is all said and done they will see the benefits of it.
What to do for fun Most fun things to do at TWU are events held by the campus itself. They are constantly posting flyers and having things for students on the campus. These are not only fun for the students but for their families or children as well. Some have bounce houses, face painting, others do a parade or concert. Also there are sporting events through both TWU sports teams and the UNT football games. Then there is a bowling alley that has dollar night and can be fun to get out and do something different.
Food and Dining Food choices are limited but what they have is good. Basic things like chick-fli-a, sandwiches, pizza, salads, ect are offered for students on the campus. The city square is less than two miles from the campus and also has a wide variety of options for those who get tired of eating on campus or want something new.
Dorm Life I have never lived in the dorms on campus but I have visited them. They are nice and kept up with. There is adequate space and it seems to be a fun and inviting environment. Plus there are always events on campus and students living in the dorms are right there to join in on the fun.
Academic Rigor Teachers hold high expectations and actually teach their students the information necessary for them to succeed. Every teacher has a different teaching style just as students learn differently. Take an active role in learning and seek help from teachers if there is confusion. Most teachers are not unreasonable and want to see their students succeed.
Tips for prospective students Ask alot of questions and ask early. If there is anything you do not know ask someone. If they do not know the answer they will direct you to someone who does. The sooner you get acclimated and figure things out the less stress and easier the semesters will go.
In three sentences Overall it is a great university. The campus is diverse to fit a wide variety of needs. Also the quality of education is high and challenges students to learn and take active part in their learning.

Bang for the buck To me it has been totally worth it so far! Tuition just went up but I still can not wait for next semester.
What to do for fun There are ALWAYS events going on such as Crawfish Boils, live bands, and other themed events.
Food and Dining In the student union there is a ChicFila, and the lines are always pretty long. But within a 5 mile radius of the school is an assortment of Fast Food restaurants.
Dorm Life I do not live in the dorms, I commute on a daily basis. I have seen the two main dorm buildings though and they look really cool. The two tallest buildings at the entrance of the campus are the newer dorms.
Academic Rigor I am in the ESL Education program, so far it has been a lot of work. However, the professors are all willing to help out so the assignments never seem as bad as they really are.
Tips for prospective students TALK TO YOUR ADVISERS!
In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a great school to attend. All of the teacher's I have had so far really put in the effort to see their students succeed. The only problem is between tuition and commuting an hour a day, it gets a a little expensive and parking is not the greatests.

In three sentences Texas Woman's University is a fun school with great faculty and staff. The professors are so helpful, always willing to answer questions. Academic Rigor I want my academic rigor to be challenging and not just handed to me on a silver platter, I want it to chanllenge me not just physically, but mentally, socially and emotionally. I feel if its chanllenging, then I'll appreciate it even more.

Categories Comments Food and Dining There's the garden room and the underground. The garden room has several Chick-fila, pizza, mexican food, burgers, convenience food. The underground is the school cafeteria and is fairly decent, serving as a buffet when you eat in and also has take out boxes.
Dorm Life The dorms are fine- they come with a small fridge. There are always activities going on to help you met new people and make new friends. In the basement are washers and dryers so it's convenient.
Academic Rigor Depends on the professor and course- some classes are more rigorous than others. Reading course material and staying on top of syllabuses helps.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel safe on the campus even being a women and walking at night about a mile away. Plus they have call boxes as you move through the campus should someone need assistance.
Clubs and Activities There are a ton of club options that are out there even if you think you don't have an interest anyone would like you can find something there for you.
Great for these types of students This school is good for all students. I have classes with female and males and find that it is an interesting class regardless of the topic. While the ratio is still favored to women, we eliminate most of the bull at the start of classes and cut right to the area of focus so we can get out early.
What to do for fun I love art and animal rescues.
Food and Dining I am a commuter student so I am luck not to have to eat the food. But I can say there the best option is to opt of off side dining options along with coffee. The coffee on-site is not the best brew.
Dorm Life Dorm life is not the way to go at this school. I have not personally expereinced this but from what I hear there are major issues with finding room for students and ensuring that the rooms/dorms are safe and free of bugs. Recent outbreak of bedbugs in the dorms off campus.
Academic Rigor It is difficult, so please don't think you can slack off in a class at TWU. Slackers only make the rest of the class work harder.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are aware of where you permit for parking allows you to park and when/if there are blackout times like holidays. This will help you avoid costly parking tickets with the campus police.
In three sentences TWU has nice class sizes even if you a joining from a community college campus. The campus is safe and in the middle of a college town so there are options for food and transportation.
