Categories Comments Campus Safety The school is pretty safe i mean we are on the good side of atlanta with the business people and we have so many guards here its not funny not to metion the cameras EVERYWHERE .
Greek Life I heard key word being HEARD we had a chapter for co ed called grammy U but I never seen them meet or much on them as a group.
Clubs and Activities We have about 20 clubs here listed but non of them actually meet or sponsor anything so I would really say there is no clubs here.
Great for these types of students If you like to wear whatever ,say whatever, and do whatever just because then you will love this school. This school is great for rich kids who just want to spend money and say they did something productive with there life.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Everything is pretty normal here as far as traditions go we dont really have any. The people here dress crazy and don't match as some attempt to pattern block. I feel sorry for the future fashion of america.
Bang for the buck NOT A GOOD DEAL> COST WAY TOO MUCH TO COME HERE! The food is high the school is pricey and everything you need in between time is going to cost too.
What to do for fun As far as things fun to do sponsored by the school they is non our school is the worst at coming up with events which is bad because we are an art school .
Food and Dining Not many choices of things to eat but what they do serve is pretty good. One cafe upstairs on the 5th floor and there is meal plans but i doubt you will need one.
Dorm Life Depending on what apartment you get put into the living is expensive but its pretty nice. 950 a month reguardless of where you go and the keep uping the price.
Academic Rigor The classes are easy a little to easy if you ask me for the amount i am paying. If you know anything about your major before coming to this school then your whole first year will be a waste of money because you wont learn anything.
Tips for prospective students I recommed if you want to come to this school that you do all of your research and make sure that this is the investment for you. I would also say the they win the lotto or have alot of money because this school cost a lot.
In three sentences I feel like AI is a great school if you are coming to work on your skills. The school is also good if you are looking to network for your future business or with another person. I think the school is WAY too pricey but the people and classes as great.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The student services center is always doing something interesting each week. Just check it out and see if there is something you'll want to do!
Food and Dining Culinary program + food = mmm. There is a mess room that the culinary students work at and sell food on a daily basis. They also have a restaurant on the second floor, which is run by students from a specific class. It's pretty good.
Dorm Life I have not been to the dorms.
Academic Rigor Personally, I don't think the classes are too hard. I love the topic matter I am studying and enjoy learning about it. Many, though, struggled with the work.
Tips for prospective students Do your research. Don't go there without any knowledge of what you want from them. It will make the entire admissions process so much easier if you know what you want. This included the financial aid office - be prepared. My first visit into the financial aid office felt like I was talking to a salesperson. As long as you've done your research, you will be fine.
In three sentences The Art Institute knows what they're doing when it comes to their facilities. I'm in the Culinary classes - I love the cooking laboratories. Unfortunately, though, it's pricey and some procedures seem outdated.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are many security guards around and you need a badge to get on campus.
Greek Life Non-existent here.
Clubs and Activities There are numerous clubs on campus. You are sure to find one that meets your tastes.
Great for these types of students If you are hands on and hate spending every homework night looking at microsoft office, then this is the school for you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing out of the ordinary really.
Bang for the buck Its 3 years for a bachelor's but it still is a bit expensive.
What to do for fun There are usually events going on on campus every week. They let you know.
Food and Dining There is a restaurant in the school run by senior level culinary students. You can get fancy restaurant quality food at low prices.
Dorm Life Apartments. You share one with up to 3 people but it is still better than living in a dorm. This is the situation in the San Diego location anyway.
Academic Rigor I am in probably what is the most difficult field; game programming. We deal with concepts that are harder to grasp than the other fields.
Tips for prospective students This school is more for actually learning and practicing skills. Expect projects instead of term papers.
In three sentences The school is very cozy. The teachers all have real world experience. Every class is very hands on.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Cops are not far from the North Hollywood campus here in California. So much so you have to be careful when you walk across the street when not at an intersection if you don't want a ticket. Disturbances can happen, but they are few and far between. Security usually patrols the floors and the stairs for emergencies are accessible.
Greek Life There isn't one. Who needs Omega's, Alpha's, and Beta's when you need to worry about whether your color scheme is what the teacher wanted or if it compliments like you want it to.
Clubs and Activities A club for every purpose and reason? Unimaginable, but definitely possible and definitely available.
Great for these types of students ART, ART, ART, and PATIENT students. Don't expect it to be easy and definitely be interested in art otherwise you are in the WRONG school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Career Day and club activities are definitely unusual traditions. They seem more like less work and more play, but that's just how everyone comes together as a family.
Bang for the buck You get the bang for your buck especially when the school is nice enough to hold off tuition increases for students.
What to do for fun Draw in the cintiq lab, walk around and see the art, talk with peers in the lounges, read in the library, search the web on a computer, play a game, or just nap.
Food and Dining We have places to buy around and vending machines, but sometimes you just want some healthy snacks.
Dorm Life It's expensive! Not surprising, but rooming with up to four people in an apartment sometimes just isn't worth the trouble, especially during finals.
Academic Rigor Some classes are almost too easy while others can be struggling to make deadlines. However, when you push yourself for that A, make your money count, and remember your goal you find the work pays off. It helps when teachers are willing to work with you.
Tips for prospective students Have all the information you may need and when you tour the school talk to the students to get an idea of how classes and the school works. Every degree and program are different, but some opinions go across the board. By talking to some of the students you'll get a better idea of the environment than through just a tour.
In three sentences This school has its problems depending your state, but it offers good classes with teachers willing to work with students. Classes that challenge and push your creativity further than before. With an environment totally dedicated to the artist in us all.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The online division at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is perfect for the student who wants to make their own schedule. If you have a family or a full time job and need to be in class on your own time, the online program is perfect! It takes a lot of discipline and self control, the perfect environment for self starters.
What to do for fun I am attending the online division, I do not live on or around campus. Therefore, I am not aware of what to do for fun in the area or on campus.
Food and Dining I am attending the online division, I have no need for the food and dining program
Dorm Life I live off campus
Academic Rigor The Art Institute of Pittsburgh's Onine Divison class schedule is a bit different than that of a traditional university. Each class session is 5.5 weeks long as opposed to the usual 12 week semester. This translates into each course load seeming magnified by 150%! There is a lot of ground covered in those 5.5 weeks and one must really keep up if they want to have a chance to succeed in the course. This being said, because it is an online forum there are not usually the traditional test methods set in place. Instead of the usual cramming for mid-terms and worrying about pop quizes there would be the occational open book, timed test to make sure the material is being absorbed. The work is not easy and at times can be very challenging.
Tips for prospective students I will be enrolling in the online division of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Being self motivated is the most important piece of advise I can give to any new students. Your success depends on you. You must learn how to manage your time efficiently to complete your course work. Because each class is only 5.5 weeks long, it is imperative to stay on top of the course load. You must work on your written communication skills to participate in the class discussions. These discussions are my favorite part about the online forum. Through talking with your classmates and commenting on the work they do you will make wonderful connections with the other students. This is important as you do not want to feel like you are going through this alone. It is important to have a support system, someone who knows what you are undertaking. The discussions will also help you to take criticisms and learn how to give them constructively. The last piece of advise I could give to a prospective student would be to make sure to understand what each and every professor expects of you and your work. What may have been okay with one professor is not necessarily okay with another. Enjoy the experience, it's a great opportunity!

Categories Comments Campus Safety The security guards are super nice.... Not very effective as security guards, but nice people.
Greek Life There are no fraternities associated with this school, thank god.
Clubs and Activities There isn't much along the lines of extra curricular activities on this campus.
Great for these types of students Anyone with a need for a creative outlet, looking for a good real life experience.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There isn't anything unusual at this campus except some of the students.
Bang for the buck You definitely get the degree and the training to get you into your desired field. I don't however, think that the college experience here is worth the money.
What to do for fun Pittsburgh is a very interesting city. Lots to do in walking distance, and transit is reasonable.
Food and Dining There is no meal plan at this campus.
Dorm Life I would not recommend living on campus to anyone.
Academic Rigor Faculty is extremely supportive and encouraging.
Tips for prospective students Don't hold yourself back just because you think someone else is better. Don't move into the dorms.
In three sentences Instructors are on task and helpful, for the most part. Students are comfortable and can be themselves. Creativity is encouraged and supported by most faculty and peers.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have a lot of security measures at the school everybody is safe and nobody has been harmed anyway. You'll feel safe and to know that nobody will hurt you or anything else. They have people everywhere and plus they have cameras to make sure nothing will happen.
Clubs and Activities I can't really tell you so much about the activities and clubs here because I haven't join any, but what I've heard they are good. Especially for the photography majors.
Great for these types of students The school is great for graphic designers or even fashion majors. People that love taking pictures and want a good career in it can come here. People that love cooking can also come here because they have a good program as well.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Mostly everybody likes going to lobby to play games are even discuss many topics in there major. A lot of people go in the cafe to eat or to have fine dining. I know some people go to different parts of the school because of their major.
What to do for fun Well I love going in the photography lab to get my work uploaded and see what great pictures i took. I also like to go out and explore more of Atlanta because it so big.
Food and Dining Well of course their food gets the best rating because they are culinary art majors that actually cook the food. They have a good selection of food that people like. I love going to the cafe upstairs and getting something from there.
Dorm Life Well we technically we don't have dorms down here we have apartments. They have some nice apartments for you down here and should come to love your roommates if you have the ones that are cool. I just don;t like the fact that you have to pay so much for them.
Academic Rigor I think academic wise they are the best fit for people that are more into their major then most people. They have classes that really test since I been here I been put to work.
Tips for prospective students Make sure this is the school you want to be at because they are tough school to be in and plus they aren't cheap. If you come with an open mind, ready for hard work and have some good connections then the Art Institute is for you.
In three sentences I think that the Art Institute of Atlanta makes sure they give you good class to prepare you in the real world. I feel like they are best for majors like photographer and culinary arts. Overall, the school is the place to be with different diversity and to get a kick start in your career.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It's a pretty small campus, all in one building. It's pretty secure and parking is not far away. I feel pretty safe when I'm there and haven't heard of any incidents, either.
Greek Life None that I know of.
Clubs and Activities If there are any clubs then I haven't really heard of them yet.
Great for these types of students Hard-working adults who are focused on learning and achieving their goals. Not a party school.
Bang for the buck So far, I feel that I'm getting my moneys' worth. The only thing I would criticize are the kits that they give you. They include the price of the kit in with tuition and if you can opt out of it then I would suggest that you do and just buy your own art supplies for school.
What to do for fun The school is in Tampa, a great city to be in full of life and diversity. It's a fun place to be.
Food and Dining There are a lot of restaurants all around Tampa. Lots of hispanic kinds of food, too.
Dorm Life I'm not in the dorms, but I have heard from classmates that they have fun and that it's a really nice place to stay.
Academic Rigor Like I said, it's hard work. Don't expect to take it easy, the instructors expect a lot out of you but they are reasonable. Don't expect to skip classes, either, attendance is VERY important.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard. It isn't easy, but it's worth it.
In three sentences The Art Institute of Tampa is focused on preparing their students to be respected professionals in their field. The faculty are very friendly and very helpful and make you feel welcomed and unafraid to ask for guidance or assistance. The instructors are strict, but fair and fun.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It's a pretty small campus and it's not in the bad part of town. It's actually near some really nice business offices and a park. There's a golf course nearby too. Campus is beautiful! Right on a pond. There's really no areas for lurkers and I have never seen any fights, drama, or any incidents involving violence, drugs, alcohol, etc. There's also always a security guard at the main entrance to the school checking IDs. Side entrances require the ID to be scanned in order to get into the school.
Greek Life There are no sororities/fraternities.
Clubs and Activities So many clubs, omg. I really had a hard time narrowing it down to three.
Great for these types of students The students here are very diverse. We're all of the artistic variety but we express ourselves very differently.
Bang for the buck It really is expensive but I feel like I'm getting what I paid for (a fast pace thorough education)
What to do for fun There are a TON of clubs you can join and the groups are always doing some project or other.
Food and Dining I love the creative palette cafe! The food is always awesome.
Dorm Life I can't speak for dorm life because I live by myself in an apartment uptown. From what I've heard, it's convenient but not necessarily fun.
Academic Rigor Very fast paced. You've gotta keep up or else you will quickly fall behind. I feel as if my teachers are teaching me everything they know. There are a select few who seem like they have no idea what they're doing but I've experienced that at every college I've attended.
Tips for prospective students It's expensive. Do not go here if you can't afford it otherwise you'll bee paying in student loan debt later. Don't waste your own time either by flip flopping through programs. You NEED to know what program you want to pursue with your artistic abilities otherwise you're just wasting your money.
In three sentences I really enjoy this school. While expensive, I feel as if the education is thorough and the teachers are great. You will have to work hard in order to keep up with the fast paced classes.

Categories Comments Food and Dining The Art Institute has food prepared for students in the deli from the culinary students. There is also a small restaurant that is ran by the culinary students as part of their curriculum that stays open for a couple of hours a day. The food is great and accommodating for students on the go.
Dorm Life The Art Institute does not have an on-campus dormitory. The dorms are about 15 minutes away from the school. By car, foot, are bus-route, students get to school from the dorms. They have on-site laundry facilities, a small convenient store, and lots of social event places such a movie theatre and recreational outdoor spaces.
Academic Rigor The school is great about making sure you completely understand youe studies. Since it is a career based school, the instructors are there to help you as much as possible with a student/teacher ratio of appx. 18/1.
Tips for prospective students Speak with an advisor to help you get into the school. They will help you step by step financially, academically, and with give you options handling those aspects. Also talk to other students that already attend the school.
In three sentences Overall, the school is great. You really learn more about your major and the instructors are really hands-on. Before you leave, you'll know exactly what type of career path to take.

Clubs and Activities There are all types of activities for students, connections is where you will find these wonderful activities.
Great for these types of students Creative and art students
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus It is so different from other online colleges, you do not have to be in class at a certain type of day, assignments are due weekly, but no classrooms to deal with.

What to do for fun You can join sorority and fraternal clubs even though it is online.
Food and Dining Online college
Dorm Life No Dorms here. It is an online college.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are plenty of clubs and activities that pertain to your area of study.
Great for these types of students Ideal for working parents or students that would like to learn anytime on their schedule.
Bang for the buck I feel that the tuition is expensive despite the textbooks are available electronically but cost the same as paperback textbooks.
What to do for fun The online school has social organization. They encourage students to socialize with each other and network.
Academic Rigor Your grades are based on time, effort and detail.
Tips for prospective students You must be self discipline in order to take online courses.
In three sentences Although classes are all year and you only get a break the last week of December, the online course structure is direct information. You are not required to take test. Instead your work is based on how much you have read and comprehend.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have id cards that we can't get into the building without. Also, each door will only open to the key cards.
Greek Life There are no fraternities or sororities.
Clubs and Activities The audio club meets every week with planned activities each quarter such as open mic, or studio/venue tours throughout the city.
Great for these types of students Rich kids whose parents bought them a top of the line macbook because they said they want to be a dj.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing too unusual so far.
Bang for the buck I like it okay.
What to do for fun There are plenty of other musicians to introduce yourself to and try to book some studio or gig time.
Food and Dining The food sucks, which is surprising because there are so many students in the culinary program.
Dorm Life I don't stay in the dorms.
Academic Rigor Nothing too difficult.
Tips for prospective students If you don't have decent computer equipment, consider an upgrade. 90% of the computers at AI Seattle are Macs. Whether Mac or PC, the audio program only uses Pro Tools 9 HD. If you don't have this software at home, homework is a logistical nightmare. You need to have a decent machine that can handle the Pro Tools 9 processing load.
In three sentences Currently in the audio program at the Art Institute of Seattle. The studios and control rooms seem to be top of the line and they are fun and exciting to work in. The teachers have big classes, so you don't get a lot of one on one time with them.

Great for these types of students Filmmakers Photography majors Apparel design Interior design Game designers Art students of all types!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The only thing thing I find different here is the hands on experience we get versus just doing work from a textbook.
Bang for the buck I feel that I am getting what I paid for. Already have an internship on a weekly episodic television series & an amazing faculty.
What to do for fun The Art Institutes are involved in their local communities. Best thing to do is to talk to a representative for your local Art Institute for details.
Food and Dining We're not a traditional public campus & don't have a cafeteria but we do have the student commons where we can eat food we bring & it does have snack machines.
Dorm Life I don't use the dorms so I can't honestly rate it.
Academic Rigor Love the hands on experience I get for learning here. And equipment isn't necessary since we have equipment cages where you can check out equipment for your projects.
Tips for prospective students Don't let the cost scare you, look into scholarships & student loans. If you have concerns about financial, ask them. They will help. Don't hesitate to ask an upper class man for help. Above all, have fun!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is on duty all the time. Only one door to enter building and all visitors are checked at door. Parking lot brightly lit and close to building.
Greek Life None
Great for these types of students Non traditional students with families or jobs. Classes are don in block style. For example my classes are from 1-5 Monday and Tuesdays, and 5:30 - 10:30 Monday and Tuesdays. So by Wednesday I am done with attending classes until the next week. This makes it easy for me to hold a job and still have time with friends.
Bang for the buck It's a rather expensive program but you are taught by only the best and have state of the art culinary labs filled with lots of amazing tools and appliances.
What to do for fun There are a lot of clubs to join, a big screen TV with video games, and dvd player in the student lounge to relax in between classes.
Food and Dining Most lab classes allow you to either eat what you produced in class or to take it home. The is a nice student lounge that has vending machines that contain fresh fruits, veggies, sandwiches, and other snacks. A microwave is also provided.
Dorm Life I don't live in the dorms but from what I hear it is a nice and safe environment.

Categories Comments Food and Dining Some colleges have cafes to get food; however, some don't. Try looking around for places to eat that are in you range, financially and distance- wise. A convenient way is investing into a meal card which comes quite in handy.
Dorm Life I don't have any experience in living in a dorm.
Academic Rigor I don't personally have any academic rigors because this is my first year in college. However, balancing your life has a vital role in your academics. The best thing to do is stay positive and work towards your best.
Tips for prospective students In college, the best thing to do is take notes on the literature and pay close attention because the information will be on quizzes, tests, and exams. Schedule time to study the material, and stay up to date with all your homework asssignments because homework is vital in college. The most important thing to do in college is balancing out your life, so your aren't stressed because without balance you will become overwhelmed.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I attend online & it is really great for me because I live far away from the nearest campus. It saves me time & money by not having to drive for classes.
Bang for the buck Overall, I think you get a lot out of the school for what you end up paying. Seems to be cheaper in the long run than other schools I was looking at going, offered a degree in what I really wanted to do, and I have learned a lot during the years.
Food and Dining Since I am an online student, I haven't eaten at the school. But a rating is required so I gave it a two.
Academic Rigor The professors expect you to work hard and pay attention.
Tips for prospective students You have to be self-motivated at any college, but especially when you are an online student. The teacher isn't looking at you & talking to you directly. You are responsible for logging in & remembering when assignments are due. Have fun, do your best, & you will learn a lot in your chosen field. What you put in your education is what you will get out of it in the end.
In three sentences The Online Division is great for students who cannot afford to drive to a local campus. It is also great for working around a work schedule. Classes are similar, yet diverse and I have learned a lot through the years.

Categories Comments Campus Safety we are supposed to show our IDs to security every time we enter the building but they never ask or check for them, they are either on their phones or chatting with other security people and not paying much attention to anything else
Greek Life None
Great for these types of students Rich, organized, strict with their time.
What to do for fun There are a few events like open mic night, summer fling and clubs.
Food and Dining There's a cafe type place in the school, over priced and some things taste ok but most you can taste the cheapness.
Dorm Life Sub-par rooms, strict curfew and rules.
Academic Rigor They are extremely fast paced if you miss 3 classes you will be automatically dropped. If you miss a homework assignment you can not turn it in later and your grade will suffer.
Tips for prospective students If you decide to go here be prepared to pay over 40,000 for an associates degree and over 90,000 for a bachelors. Plus you have to pay for all your books, supplies and print jobs.
In three sentences It's not worth the money you pay, The computers never have enough RAM for how many students use the computers (which is every one of them) and the computers always crash or run slow within a few weeks of school starting.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I will say one thing, you cant take more than a few steps in the door without seeing a security guard. I have not one time ever felt unsafe i really feel at ease no matter what time i am at the shool
Clubs and Activities there are clubs for each division of the school but unfortunately i don't know much about them
Great for these types of students i have seen just about every type of student from young straight from high school to older like me. Im 42 with a teenage daughter. everyone seems to get along well and i can always find someone to say hello to me and me to them. I thoroughly enjoy my new school.
Bang for the buck so far so good for me. I really enjoy cooking and I am learning more so far in just 5 weeks than i ever thought i would be.
What to do for fun There are always activities offered by the school like cookouts and there are clubs for each different aspect ie culinary, arts, design. They school makes sure that each event is well posted and everyone knows about it well in advance.
Food and Dining So far what I have tried of the food and dining, I have been impressed. My only problem I would have with it is that the cafe closes at 2 and couple of my classes don't start until after 2. Its nice to always have the cafe for drinks and cold sandwiches but its all very good so far
Academic Rigor The classes that I am taking are enjoyable but challenging. I feel every day that I leave class that I have not only learned something but that i have accomplished something. The instructors are more than willing to encourage and uplift if needed. I think the classes are challenging but not unmanageable by anyone.
Tips for prospective students The admissions staff with practically bend over backwards to help get you into the school. Financial aid personnel with explain everything, twice if you need it and always with a smile. They have a wide selection of classes and times to suit any schedule. Don't say you can't until you look into it. If you are willing and able, they will help you work it out.
In three sentences I find it to be a very rewarding experience. The staff is all very knowledgable and eager to assist. The instructors are extremely friendly and also very eager to help.

Clubs and Activities There are many clubs on campus from D&D to major related clubs. Anyone can apply to start a club..
Great for these types of students The Art Institutes is great for student who are artistic, creative, and passionate about art.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In the main building, there's an Atrium where I go sometimes to relax and think. It's shaded and there's a fountain, so it's very serene.
Bang for the buck Overall, I enjoy the time I've spent at The Art Institutes. They offer a lot of tools for learning. I look forward to receiving my degree and finding employment in my field.
What to do for fun Student Services organizes fun events and field trips to museums and other academic related happenings. Week to week, there's always something going on. Also the student lounge gives students access to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii game consoles.
Food and Dining My Art Institutes campus has a full running restaurant with dine-in and take-out service. They even deliver to classrooms, and the food is really good.
Dorm Life I don't live in housing, but they have seasonal events that I have attended. The housing has a lot of really nice amenities, ad my friends enjoy living there.
Academic Rigor My academic adviser is always there when I have a question about class scheduling and other academic inquiries. My teachers are knowledgeable, industry professionals and are easy to talk to when I need help.
Tips for prospective students If you're thinking about applying at The Art Institutes, I recommend applying for scholarships to help pay for school supplies and tuition. I also suggest that you check out their ride sharing services, as well as free tutoring services.
In three sentences The Art Institutes offers a comfortable learning environment. They provide excellent (and free) services to help us on, and even off, campus. I'm very glad that I chose The Art Institutes to continue my education.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is always on staff at all times.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for every major, clubs provide activities such as movie marathons, bake sales, and much more.
Great for these types of students Free parking for all students!
Bang for the buck It is very expensive to attend this school, students should make sure they are financially stable before going to such an expensive school.
What to do for fun The school provides activities through out the quarter, for example, at least once a year there's an Up All Night it's a big event thrown after classes are out full of activities, free food, and snacks until 4am! The school is located down the street from a big shopping area called Metrocenter, it's full of shopping areas and restaurants, it also has a Harkins Theaters. Downtown Phoenix has plenty of museums to explore and other exciting places to check out.
Food and Dining There are no meal plans like a university, there is access to a cafeteria with a full menu and coffee shop. There are a lot of grocery stores and restaurants near by as well.
Dorm Life The dorms at the Art Institute of Phoenix are in apartment complexes, one shares a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 other people or a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 other person. It includes everything you need to live on your own even a washer and dryer! It includes access to 2 pools and a gym, plus student events every quarter. They are very pricy and remember to read the contract, some of the staff forgets to tell students about updates in housing and contracts.
Academic Rigor The classes related to one's major are challenging, the challenge prepares one for the real world outside of school, it's what every student needs. The classes that are just math, science, English, etc, are not as difficult since the teachers know one is not there for English, but for art.
Tips for prospective students It's easy to get in, but the real test is, can you stay in? Students who are unsure of what they want to do tend to drop out within the first year, so take some time to figure out what you want to do before registering to an Art Institute.
In three sentences Hello future college students, I'm currently a student at the Art Institute of Phoenix. This school has and excellent curriculum and teachers, it's a small for profit college, if you've got the passion and are able to afford it, go for it.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck This school has a great bang for the buck. The amount per credit hour is on par for most Universities and for the quality of the teachers and the studies I believe you are getting the better deal especially since you do all your studies online.
What to do for fun There is nothing to do for fun except the studying and classes itself. The classes are online so in reality there isn't anything to do for fun.
Food and Dining There is no food and dining for this school since it is based online.
Dorm Life There is no dorm for this school since it is based online.
Academic Rigor The school and classes are both easy and difficult to navigate.
Tips for prospective students The best tip I can give for a prospective student is to use your time wisely for your studies. Studying at home can be easily distracting so you have to plan ahead and use everything the school has to your advantage.
In three sentences This school is great for online learning. The classes are easy to navigate and you learn a lot in 6 weeks. For earning my degree I could find no better school to complete my studies and become a great Web Designer.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are things to do around town like go to some local clubs, the movies, bowling, coffee, and some other fun activities; you just have to look.
Food and Dining The school is very close to the local foods and also the culinary program cooks for students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so be sure to bring a few bucks for some quality 5 star food.
Dorm Life I have been told that the dorm life is really good, but it does help if one was to get someone with the same major for a room mate.
Academic Rigor Outstanding teachers, as said above, the teachers are easy to work with and the students I meet there are very similar to myself. I have never felt more at home.
Tips for prospective students Defiantly stay on target and ahead of the financial aid so that you don't get left behind. Time management is a big thing because some teachers give out big projects and if you're a full time student it can wear you down a bit.
In three sentences The Art Institute of Jacksonville is a stable environment with friendly and easy to work with teachers. Like any college though it has it's own drama and students need to stay on top of what is given to them so they don't sink. I personally enjoy the teachers because they are teaching me so much in and out side of the class room.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent. Well lit campus with security. I feel very safe and comfortable here. To gain entry into the building, you must have a coded student ID which will grant you access into the classes and labs. You cannot walk in off the street.
Greek Life None.
Clubs and Activities Numerous clubs and activities available for all programs at the campus.
Great for these types of students Students who are creative and want to learn more creativity in their chosen field.
Bang for the buck For what the tuition costs are, I would say the value is more than top notch.
What to do for fun There are many clubs an organizations available on campus. I wish I could participate, however between school and working, it doesn't leave me much time to join in.
Food and Dining I love having the opportunity to prepare recipes in our kitchen labs and tasting the food.
Dorm Life I live at home since school is so close to me. However, I know they do have dorm apartments available with their own private shuttle back and forth to school. For someone without a car, this is perfect!
Academic Rigor The classes are tough and challenging. Since Culinary is my passion, the classes so far have exceeded my expectations in the learning genre. The instructors are top in their industry, and are always willing to share their information and knowledge with you.
Tips for prospective students There are many different culinary avenues to choose from, depending on what you want to do with your career in the Culinary industry. There are so many fantastic programs here at The Art Institute, and offers better opportunities to learn, and have more programs available than other trade schools or colleges.
In three sentences Outstanding instructors and staff that really care about your success and training. I am in my second quarter and have learned a great deal that has helped me with my employment as a Cook III. I am excited to see what the future classes at The Art Institute of the Inland Empire will hold for me and how it will help me develop into a world-class Chef.

Clubs and Activities The clubs that I know about are National Technical Honor Society, Kappa Phi and the Student Photographic Society.
Great for these types of students The online labs that have tutorials. You can navigate from home without any trouble and learn what you need to become the artist to want.

Tips for prospective students Always participate in the scholarships and contests they have available. The working system is easy and you have many resourses to help you through your studies. Anyone that chooses this college will definately get far in life.

What to do for fun Anything you do for fun normally since you will still be home! Travel if you want! If you have a laptop and a Wi-Fi connection, you can go just about anywhere!
Food and Dining Eat at your favorite home town places. :)
Dorm Life Online. No dorms.
Academic Rigor I really do not feel that the school environment here is any different from any other school. It seems a little hardet at times only because the pace is so much faster. But you also have the opportunity to look ahead in the course and work ahead if you have some extra time available.
Tips for prospective students I would recommended to any student planning to attend AI Online that they make sure that they have some extra time on their hands, as classes are very fast paced. Work ahead (if you are able to) and don't procrastinate.
In three sentences AI Online has been a great experience for me. The class sizes are small so you can get a bit more attention. Also, the instructors are very helpful and reachable.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is for students who can pay out of their pocket cash and it wouldn't be a detriment to their finances.
What to do for fun Find a better school.
Food and Dining They have a special culinary program for the students to enjoy. However obtaining a student food card is highly difficult and issued to certain individuals.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor The only thing I've comprehended was the unethics of the scam of accepting students and forcing them to apply for loans where they will be forever indebted.
Tips for prospective students RUN AND DO NOT LOOK BACK. The teachers are wishy washy with no form of academic structure, and the application process can be a major headache.
In three sentences The Art Institutes are a scam. The financial aid is a loop whole. The education was too bland and I was not retrieving valuable information that would allow me to further myself academically.

Bang for the buck This is the downside. its expensive. and when i say expensive i mean they screw you over and rip you off with the student supply kit charging a varied amount of 400.00 to 800.00 for a pack of supplies you could go to target or fred meyers and get the exact same equipment for around 125.00 if less than that.
What to do for fun Hang out with classmates. i cannot stress this enough that your college friends will be the reason why you enjoy your school. because it is the reason why i enjoy mine. if not for my friends i would not be enjoying this experience right now. but besides friends, my school is located next to the armory, a portland stage play house which i go to every once in awhile. its downtown portland there is plenty of things to do downtown.
Food and Dining Located in the pearl district, food is only moments away. there are so many shops and places to go for a quick snack or a dinner and lunch. The only downside is that if you dont have money then well... your out of luck.
Tips for prospective students Students i cannot stress this enough that everything you find at the art institute you can find elsewhere at Portland State University. if you just want your education then go through your community college to your university, im pretty sure you'll find the same classes for cheaper. but if you are looking for the experience and the great community then this school is the place for you, especially since it its located in a very good college environment.

Dorm Life I don't live in the dorms so I can't say about the dorm life. The fact that even as a freshman I was given the choice to live there or not was very encouraging.

Food and Dining The on campus bistro that is run completely by students is absolutely AMAZING!!! Better than most of the high end restaurants in Los Angeles (and its reasonable)
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm
Academic Rigor If you think that you will have it easy at this school, think again. Its pretty tough and a lot more work than I thought it would be. You will walk away with so much more than you ever imagined though.
Tips for prospective students Its important to stay focused and give it your best every day. I see far too many students there that do not take it serious and are barely passing. Categories Comments Campus Safety The apartment complex that the student housing is set in is high-end and safe, the campus is in a good part of town and there are no hazardous areas.
Greek Life No sororities here, unfortunately?
Clubs and Activities There are a TON of clubs and activities, most of them geared towards making projects and connections with other students and making contacts for the future when they're in need of, say, an animator when they're working on a film. I'm not in any, but my roommate and friends who are in some say that they're great fun.
Great for these types of students Social students, students who are enthusiastic about their art (of course!), nerds, geeks and usually quiet people, since the latter three groups will find themselves among friends in most situations.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Every quarter, there's a new artistic contest at the Ohio-Cincinnati AI - for the summer quarter it was rubber duckies, and the coming fall quarter will be mini pumpkins. The third floor of the AI campus is deserted and can't be accessed by elevator, so we joke that Slenderman lives there. The Student Lounge is also usually populated by people playing video games on the big screen TV there.
What to do for fun It honestly depends on who you are. I invite friends over to my apartment, my roommates go to clubs, we watch movies, order pizza, et cetera. Our AI is outside of Cincinnati, although Mason is a cool town with lots of restaurants and a bowling alley, movie theater and such within walking distance of the apartments. On campus, the student lounge is always a party.
Food and Dining There is no public eatery other than the culinary-student-run gourmet restaurant on campus. You're expected to buy food and cook for yourself, though in the long run it's easier and cheaper than buying lunch/dinner every day, and it teaches new students how to manage their own budget.
Dorm Life The AI that I attend buys out high end apartment complexes, and all the basic amenities of home are provided for you in your apartment. Your end of the bargain is keeping it clean. Most of the time, the guest rules, curfew rules and noise rules aren't strictly enforced unless you're really causing a ruckus. Roommate choices are made by the student housing advisers, who take your application and match it up to three others with similar requests. If you're lucky, like I was, you'll end up with three great roommates who will make college a unique and unforgettable experience outside the classroom.
Academic Rigor The art classes challenge you to challenge yourself and the creative limits of your mind by teaching you to work with many mediums - from pencil to ink to foamcore board - and across all dimensions of art. The general education classes aren't as challenging as classes in other colleges, but they provide you with a foundation that will help you in other classes and in your life beyond college.
Tips for prospective students Please know what you're going into when you start; there are people here who are living their dreams, and people who are getting a degree for the heck of it. AI is expensive, but you need to make sure it's worth it for you. Make sure to keep in contact with your teachers, and also check to see if your financial aid will cover your books.
In three sentences If you're wanting to go into a field that involves modern, active art - such as fashion, culinary, film or animation - the Art Institutes is definitely a high-quality college to start with. Their admissions process is straightforward and comprehensive, they arrange meetings with every new student to help with financial aid as much as possible, they provide a lot of benefits for veterans hoping to attend their school and the staff that I have met so far are all friendly and cheerful. The Art Institutes provide the tools and background that a creative mind needs in order to understand how to create more effective and striking art while competing in a highly competitive field.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This does not apply since it is the students choice where they choose to learn. Internet safety to keep your information private is stressed often.
Greek Life It doesn't matter your religion or ethic, the school is very non biased.
Clubs and Activities There is contests, internships, clubs, scholarships, groups, newsletters, scheduled sessions, etc. all available for nearly every need.
Great for these types of students Students that prefer using a computer and posses basic computer knowledge; Students that don't mind reading their work online or printing it up; Students that wish to make computer use an important part of their career; These are all necessary for success in this school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The unusual things that this school offers are the fact that you have the same counselors through out your time pursuing your degree. You have the option to hear lectures, complete your work, and access the stores or library at any time of the day. The flexibility is very unusual.
Bang for the buck Although this college is a little more expensive then other schools, the amount of work that they do to enhance your experience and simplify your life goes far beyond the cost to attend; for example, the amount of gas and time that you would need in order to find and purchase your own books is not needed here. The books are a simple download, and are available as soon as class starts.
What to do for fun There are several groups and clubs available, and if you have an idea for a club that is non-existent, it is easy to create one by getting a few people involved.
Food and Dining This also does not apply.
Dorm Life Dorm life does not really apply here considering all of the classes are online.
Academic Rigor This school runs year round, daily, twenty-four hours a day. To attend full time you must complete two classes that last six weeks at a time. There are also several classes that you can attend either self paced, or in your free time at no cost. Those classes are for basic preparation such as learning a computer program.
Tips for prospective students Since technology continues to advance and become more and more important to every day living, this school is always updated and prepared to train you. Their main goal is to make sure you have time and are prepared to learn. They do all of the outside work such as financial planning, references, and offered availability to higher education made easy.

They provide absolutely everything online so that you can learn from anywhere. They not only teach you the basics of your career, they also help you create your portfolio, assist in job placement, and many other extended resources.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Never had an issue with safety at our school. WE got some top notch security guards. They are ridiculously cool, but they don't play either. Overall it's one of the safest places I've ever been to!
Clubs and Activities There are so many different clubs and activities. Most apply to the different majors that we have, but we also have some in regards to just random hobbies, cultures, and so forth.,
Great for these types of students The Art Institutes are great colleges for anyone. They dominate with artsy kids, but overall the variety is easily recognizable.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Traditionally the Graphic Design majored students have a competetive ricalry against the Fashion Design najors, but it's all fun and games. We have many debates about which major is better or more significant out in the Real WORLD! I enjoy it.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are not guards on every corner, which help with the laid back feel of the campus. You should keep you ID tag on you at all times or they will stop you from entering until someone confirms that you are a student or a guest with a student.
Great for these types of students This is a great place for art students to get together and learn about all kinds of similar and different traits between each other. I made several friends within the first two weeks of my classes because my classmates are so easy and fun to talk to, even when we disagree on what we do and do not like.
Bang for the buck The college is expensive, but what college isn't. The reason I think you get your money's worth is that they let you design how you want, with minimal requirements on projects other than to just get it done. Teachers don't tell you specifically how a project has to look, so you can add you own crazy twists to it.
What to do for fun There are student lounges at the school where you can hang out with your friends and play games, get snacks, and just chat. You also have many books in the library that you can use for research or just to read. I have not seen many clubs around but there are scheduled events that students can attend almost every week.
Food and Dining The food from out kitchen is cooked from our own culinary students and is set up like a very nice restaurant. I have tasted the food myself and it is very delicious.
Dorm Life I do not actually live in the dorms, but the apartments that I have seen look nice. The only problem is that you and your roommates have to bring most of your own items from home such as cooking utensils and television set.
Academic Rigor The classes so far for me have been very easy, and there is a whole week between classes for me to get homework done or ask someone for help on what I don't understand.
Tips for prospective students You don't need to be afraid to ask either the teachers or even other students for help. They are very friendly and always are willing to help.
In three sentences The Art Institute I go to easy very laid back and friendly. Everyone gets along well and always has something in common. With easy classes and a flexible schedule, I recommend it for any upcoming art students.

Tips for prospective students Go for a degree that you will love when you graduate.
In three sentences This college is awsome because they really care for the student. The class sizes are really small. They offer a lot of different degrees.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The Art Institute of Seattle is in the heart of Seattle and so safety around that area can be a little sketchy. With that being said, when you enter the actual campus buildings they take security very seriously. You need to have your ID badge when wandering around and you will be asked for it and ejected if you don't. They don't want other people to enter and cause any problems.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for everybody; all you have to do is ask. If you can't find a club that is right for you then just make one and you'll get people to join you in a short time.
Great for these types of students Students who are serious about wanting a job in the art field will love it here. You need to love what you go to this school for because you're going to be doing it a lot.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I went to community college and then a four year college before this one and I have to say that the biggest thing that has caught me off guard at this school has been the lack of drive of a lot of students. It is almost a tradition where you will begin a class with roughly 25 students and end the class with 6-8. It baffles me. Other then that, the strangest things that occur usually involve the teachers. They're all fun, but they've all got their quirks.
Bang for the buck I'm not going to lie, this school is expensive. That being said, the amount of experience and expertise that you will get in the field of your choice will astound you. I did a large amount of research into other colleges and none of them even came close. If you can make it through to the end and speak with career advising then you will have more than a 90% chance of being hired right out of school. All the classes that were offered at other colleges for graphic design (my major) were offered at the Art Institute plus more advanced versions to keep you ahead of the others. All in all, more than worth it.
What to do for fun There are always options of things to do such as joining clubs, activities, and networking with the staff. The staff there are very friendly and have a significant amount of pull in their fields so making friends with them is a great step in the right direction. There are always things to do posted on the bulletin boards around campus if your bored and want some extra art projects. If you really want some extra fun then join a club with other people with a common interest. There are a lot of them and they all have a great people who want to come together and do something useful. If they don't have one you like then just make one and soon people will join.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has a decent selection of food but seeing as how the college is three blocks from Pike Place Market, where the food is astounding, it doesn't really matter.
Dorm Life I'm not actually living in the dorms, I commute from my apartment but I have talked about it with a lot of the other students there and they seem very satisfied with it.
Academic Rigor You need to stay at the top of your game because that is where the teachers expect you and you can fall behind really fast.
Tips for prospective students You get out of the school what you put in. If you don't put in the effort and just trying to skate by under the radar then you won't get much out of the school. The school does have a low graduation rate but that is because there are a lot of students who just go in for an easy BA and get burned out early. Show up for every class!!! Can't emphasize that enough.
In three sentences The school is a great place to learn how art is used in business and how you can be part of it. The college classes are easy to understand and very well thought out. I did a large amount of research before coming to Art Institute of Seattle and apart from it being expensive it was definitely the best choice by far.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for those who are creative, want to be creative and aren't exactly traditional learners. The cool part about being an online student is that you have all access to faculty, tutoring and your peers just as you would on campus.
What to do for fun Campus common was created for online students. It's similar to social networking sites. The campus common allows online students to interact on topics non related to school work and also join forums of interest.
Academic Rigor The material covered in each course encourages the students to push beyond their comfort zone to excel. As a student you have the opportunity to freely express yourself through your work and are encouraged to think critically. This is a key characteristic of the Art Institutes given the low teacher to student ratio, which allows for this unique learning opportunity.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should keep in mind that The Art Institutes operate on an accelerated schedule compared to other Universities and Colleges. Studying and adhering to deadlines are a must, but all relevant and worth it in the end!
In three sentences The educators at the Art Institutes are well rounded and have hands on experience in the industry pertaining to the major. The work is challenging, invigorating and rewarding.

Bang for the buck This school is very expensive. I believe that you get most of what you pay for.
What to do for fun The school is blocks from Pike Place Market. Great place to walk, eat, and just hang out.
Food and Dining For a Culinary School the food that is provided to buy is less than appetizing.
Academic Rigor You need to not only show up but be ready to work. The instructors expect that you are on point each and every class. I believe that my education is preparing me for my career as a Chef
Tips for prospective students Keep in contact with your instructors and academic advisor. Choose to take the weekend workshops that are extra instruction and at no cost. Keep up with all assignments as the quarters go quickly, only 11 weeks.
In three sentences The knowledge of the Instructors is great and they are able to transfer it to the students. The facilities are nice and up to date. The price for the knife kit and Chef Uniform is high for the level of knives that your receive.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have never had an issue when I walk to my car in the crack of the morning nor the late nights. I have only had a small incident of someone backing into my car while I was in class.
Great for these types of students Art enthusiasts, visual, audio and hands on learners.
What to do for fun There are always activities to do for those who live near campus. Register with the school's message alerts to now about BBQ's, movie nights, and other student gatherings.
Food and Dining The food is the best. The cafeteria has a a long menu for those picky palettes.
Academic Rigor Every teacher expects the best from their student, be it a general education course or a major specified course.
Tips for prospective students First apply for all and any scholarships that are applicable to you. Tuition is overpriced and keeps going up.
In three sentences I love the professional atmosphere. Everyone who attends here knows exactly what they want. You meet inspiring students everyday that make you want to also be the best.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck It is a bit pricey, but especially the fact that you do not have to have your AA before transferring, you can come in with whatever credits you have under your belt and start right away. It's easy to get it, sure, but not easy to graduate. They make it tough for a reason, so that you really have the drive to learn. The students that don't want to be there get weeded out pretty quickly, so be sure that this is what you want before investing the cash.
What to do for fun There are always a lot of events on campus, Q&A with designers, casino nights, etc.
Food and Dining The on-campus restaurant is AMAZING! It is run by the culinary students and the menu changes constantly. It it something you absolutely have to check out.
Dorm Life Don't live on campus.
Academic Rigor Each class requires a lot of time and effort. The general education classes(math, english) require a bit less as they are more typical college courses, but the classes that focus on your major require a lot of research, innovation, and mostly, your time. The more time you put into your work, the more you will get out of it.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to allot a significant amount of time for homework and projects. Since most of your work is project based, you have to be willing to invest the time to make the work worthwhile. It's not just a study then take a test type of school.
In three sentences This school is extremely informative and eye opening. While the curriculum is a tad unsteady due to extremely different teaching styles between professors, this only helps to broaden your spectrum on whatever aspect of design you choose to study. I have learned both technical and real-world information about my field of design(graphic) which I use every day.

What to do for fun AI Connections is like a school facebook. I love it.
Tips for prospective students Speak up! You are the boss of your curriculum and ask questions; if they don't answer your phone calls try speaking with their supervisors. And when you have a tough instructor do your best and just know that this school is for self motivated student's. Most of the instructors do not praise their students.
In three sentences The admission process was very easy, and the staff was great getting me started. I had some great professors-that were patient. I have a few though that were not that great explaining and giving guidance. I give it a 50/50 The end was difficult my guidance counselor was not very nice, or tactful, I requested a change but never got changed until it was too late.

Great for these types of students I suggest that you are artsy and always thinking out of the box. Always be willing to work hard and go above and beyond.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is always a place for you to be creative and the different majors that are offered create a place of unity and success.
Bang for the buck The Art Institute is expensive but totally worth your money. The oppertunities are endless and 100% of students that graduate find careers/jobs within six months.
What to do for fun I enjoy painting and drawing. I also enjoy singing and merchandising at work. Organization is key in all the fun that I do.
Academic Rigor Having an 4.0 and keeping it is your only option.
Tips for prospective students If you are planning on attending The Art Institute of Seattle you have to be willing to work hard and stay focused. This College is full of opportunities but you need to be diligent and proactive. Lastly have the drive to finish because most classes do not transfer to other colleges.
In three sentences The Art Institute of Seattle is a college that offers hands on learning with professors that work in the industry. Categories Comments Campus Safety We have circulating guards, not just in the building, but also patrolling the parking lots. Many access doors are photo ID badge entry during the day and afterhours.
Greek Life Sorry brothers and sisters, I haven't seen any fraternities or sororities here.
Clubs and Activities A strong student activity life is open to all. There is everything from an Anime Club to Student Leadership. Organizations oriented toward professional groups are available like AIGA, a professional association for design. Film Club, 3D Modeling Club, Everything Music and the Culinary Club are a few of 19 currently active. It's easy to start a club with members, an advisor and a dream.
Great for these types of students Both traditional and non-traditional students. There is a strong veteran's presence on campus too.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus You can experience fine dining at Ol-o-gy, the culinary department's campus restaurant. You can get a four course meal for $10.00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Bang for the buck I have been particularly appreciative of small class sizes and personal attention. I have the sense from everyone I have encountered from teaching staff to support staff that our goals are the same. Success and achievement. Student affairs can help you find jobs during your time at The Art Institute of Austin. In addition to student support after graduation, site visits from local employers can get you hired on the spot - you may find an amazing opportunity to work your way through college too.
What to do for fun Austin, Texas is the Live Music Capital of the World. We have South By Southwest, Austin City Limits, Alamo Drafthouse and many private venues in the area for music. Our proximity to San Antonio expands your entertainment options and we aren't that far from the Gulf Coast for sun and beach options. When not preparing for an amazing career, you will not be at a disadvantage to find something to do!
Food and Dining The Austin area is without compare! Foodies will be satiated and dazzled with options. Let's not forget that The Art Institute of Austin has an amazing Culinary Arts program - definitely make friends.
Dorm Life As a non-traditional student, I cannot address dorm life. Our student affairs department is open and involved. There are many activities on campus as well as in the campus housing.
Academic Rigor Thus far my experience is a good one. I felt adequately challenged but not overwhelmed. The instructors teach you, guide you but will not hold your hand.
Tips for prospective students I suggest being open during the interview process. The Admissions Director's goal is to help you find the correct fit for your interests. Be open to suggestions and look at all your options. You may be surprised at the opportunities you may find with an open mind. Don't be shy!
In three sentences As a non-traditional student I have found The Art Institute of Austin welcoming. I had superb support through the application process. I have felt confident in the support available for me to succeed in my return to higher education.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck For me personally I feel that all of my money that has gone into this school has been completely and utterly wasted. The school is considered online based, but I can easily find the exact same information(sometimes even better) with a quick internet search. I feel like I'm paying for teaching myself sometimes.
Academic Rigor The majority of the subjects are incredibly easy to prepare for, so much in fact that retaining that knowledge can be more tricky than the actual content.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you are not a hands on learner otherwise gaining actual skills related to your major will be difficult. But if you can easily learn from text and/or videos alone, then this is a very good candidate for you.
In three sentences Art Institutes online campuses give you many tools to help you succeed academically. The majority of the Instructors are very helpful and enthusiastic about their subjects. But the actually art classes leave much to be desired.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is well secured. The staff members do a great job of educating and informing students and future students of the safety precautions and actions to take in the event of a safety hazard.
Clubs and Activities I wasn't introduced to any clubs or school activities that are conducted outside of the class rooms. But given that the school is filled with creative mined students, I am sure that there are some fascinating and interesting student driven clubs and activities that go on within the school limits.
Great for these types of students This school is great if you are the type of person that likes to customize things with your own thoughts and ideas rather than the normal standard that everyone else has. If you are a person who is self-driven and have a strong passion and dream that you would like to create and live. If you are the type of person who sees the world as a huge pot of opportunity and the sky is the limit as long as you have the tools or skill sets to grab it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Didn't notice anything unusual about the school expect the cafeteria turns into a dining restaurant for the public in the evening. The food there is really that good I hear!
Bang for the buck I believe that the Art Institute provides you the best tools and cutting edge technologies to guarantee you get the best experience out of the type of education that you seek. To me, the experience is very important that way you are aware of all the limits to what you can do once you get out and start your career.
What to do for fun For fun I like to participate in sport activities. I'm a big movie fan. I love to draw, read books on art, fashion, sports, cars, history and science fiction. I love to learn on the latest and current technologies and discover how they work and the direction they are headed in.
Food and Dining The dining hall and cafeteria is second to any other school I have attended. They have one of the best restaurants in town, Houston that is, whom serve nutritious, delicious first class dishes
Dorm Life Although this school is more of a private and small technical school, they have a dorm system set up like those of large university. It's actually a bit more of a modern economy lifestyle as students stay in an apartment complex rather than a dormitory. Students get the taste of the real world while still being monitored and supported by the school.
Academic Rigor The challenges that I came to conclude would only apply to students who may have some skills already and look to only take a set of particular classes. This can be challenging because the curriculum is designed to take classes in hierarchy progression and you are required to take some classes in order to another.
Tips for prospective students The best place for an education tailored towards your creative thoughts and desires. As well as driven towards helping you begin your career as soon as you get the education that you are looking for.
In three sentences I like the Art Institute Of Houston because it can be considered heaven for anyone with any kind of artistic bone on their body. The Institution as world-class equipment and tools for all kinds of art and is known for their excellence in the class room. The environment is electric and the staff is friendly and supportive.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have security on campus at all open hours. All hallways and rooms are monitors and checked on an hourly basis. ID cards are required to access the school after 5pm and certain classrooms all day, and must be worn visible at all times.
Greek Life Nope. Not a traditional college. That wouldn't fit here--- we're not a sports/prep type oriented school. We're all nerds and artsy people.
Clubs and Activities Tons! We try to keep our clubs as active as possible. Our students are super engaged.
Great for these types of students Nontraditional, flexible, engaged, interested, creative, hard working, dedicated, fun, friendly, etc. Students looking for something other than your average college experience.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I've never been to a traditional college so it's hard for me to say. To us, it's normal. But it's an art school!
Bang for the buck Again, it's what you make it. This school is really expensive though, so don't go if you're not sure.
What to do for fun There are tons of events, clubs, and organizations... not to mention lots of cool people. The school is right in the middle of a busy commercial area so there's plenty to do-- movies, shopping, and pools at the apartments.
Food and Dining We have a couple of vending machines, a student store to purchase snacks at (expensive), and a rather expensive student-run cafe. No cafeteria.
Dorm Life Here at the Austin campus, we have school sponsored apartments. The apartments are nice, and they have a no tolerance policy for drama, violence, and uncleanliness. I had a decent time in my year in housing.
Academic Rigor This can really depend on your teacher, as they all have different teaching styles. They are industry professionals and all know a great deal about their area of expertise and are ready to teach it to you.
Tips for prospective students Ask tons of questions, always. If there's something you're unsure about or need advice on, always, always ask questions!
In three sentences Everything is what you make it. You will get what you put into this school... Do your best and you'll succeed. Don't come here expecting an easy ride!

Categories Comments What to do for fun What's available for fun depends on where you attend. I'm a working mother. So I don't spend time on campus other than when I'm in class or doing school work.
Food and Dining The campus I attend just added a Subway restaurant to the main building. The culinary students run a restaurant on campus as well. I heard the food is delicious but expensive. I don't eat on campus. I eat at home with my children or pack a lunch.
Dorm Life I have no opinion on dorm life. I don't live on campus.
Academic Rigor The Art Institutes work hard to make sure that when you enter your field you know what you are doing and what you are talking about.
Tips for prospective students Only apply if you are serious about growing. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and your money.
In three sentences This school is dedicated to art as a career. In classes you will learn the skills to take your art and talent to a new level of professionalism. You will learn and grow as an artist and a professional.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are some pretty cool security guards at the school. Some of them will remember your name and what you said to them last time they saw you. Some great connections.
Clubs and Activities There is a club for every major and almost every interest. Photography Club, Animation Club, and others. There is always some event that goes on. From DanceDanceRevolution night to free massages during midterm and finals week. A lot of fun.
Food and Dining The school has a cafe with pretty good food and nice staff.
Dorm Life I stayed in the dorms for a short time and i hated it. There was a lot of immature people who didn't care and extremely rude. The RAs, residential advisers, were very nice and polite. But they found it difficult to contain the stupidity of the dorms. I found that there was too much drama. Me personally...I don't handle that bs. The school is awesome and it is surprising that they are the same people.
Academic Rigor One thing you should know...either do your work to the best of your ability or flunk. All professors expect dedication and completed work. No half-ass-ing anything. Also, unless you're in the hospital or have an amazing excuse, try not to miss a class. The policy is that if you miss three class, you're done and will have to repeat the course. Many teachers will allow you to make up work, but you better make it look like you spent a good amount of time with it and not like you made it the night before.
Tips for prospective students If you're interested in joining the school, be prepared to work. Many of are teachers will push you to the breaking point to see if you have what it takes to face the real world. I know I've been there. My first quarter at the school, I wanted to quit and give up. Now, I'm so glad I didn't. I kept pushing for what i want. From what I have learned, some professors find it admirable if you fight for what you want, or if you go completely outside your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to speak your mind.
In three sentences I have been attending the Art Institute in Miami for almost two years now and I have never met so many people with a fixed idea of where they want to be later on in life. Everyone is dedicated to there studies and still make time to hang with other students. I'll be honest, I have the greatest friends here and wonderful connections that'll come in handy later on.

Dorm Life It is overpriced but it is a comfortable lifestyle. I recommend living of campus where surprisingly, it is cheaper than student housing but still expensive.
Academic Rigor Art is difficult to grade because because there is no set standard on what is art and what is not. Passing classes is easy as long as you do the work, but I am there to make connections and become the best.
Tips for prospective students Get involved and meet people. Networking is the key, especially for the majors that are offered. Do not waste your time, because it is a fast paced environment.
In three sentences Santa Monica- You get what you put in it. It is really close to Los Angeles, the king of movies, so it is worth it. The education is very minimal. You will learn the basics but that is about it.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The safety here is relatively good and you can feel safe around campus the whole entire day. There are guards at the door in front of the school and they often go outside to check around the parking lot.
Food and Dining Now about the food and dining, there are places to go out and eat with friends or if your just planing to go by yourself. Around the school there's a shopping center near by and there is also a restaurant inside of the school its called CREATIONS. The food there is really good and they often offer discounts to students who attend this college.
Dorm Life The dorms are very nice and pretty comfortable to live in, but can't say that it's cheap. It gets kind of pricey and including the other necessities you have to buy with your own money such as a bed, a desk, lamps and FOOD. Lots and lot of food!
Academic Rigor The classes in my opinion are pretty easy and are passably to pass throughout each quarter. I wouldn't say that there classes are hard nor easy, but you can get through them.
Tips for prospective students All you need to do is to be organized, be on time to every class and being able to manage your time VERY WISLEY (Can't stress that enough).
In three sentences If you enjoy art and have a passion for it, then you should go for it and attend this college. This college has a great atmosphere and you wouldn't even feel that your attending school. From my part I think this college is worth going and later in life on you'll never know what your future career will bring you.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Housing isn't so safe. But the school is really safe.
Clubs and Activities Only a couple of clubs.
Great for these types of students Animation Students is their biggest marketing point. But make sure you want to work with 3D programs alot. If you're going for Anime, or cartoons, forget it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus All you can eat Sushi bar. Discount Theater.
Bang for the buck Nice, expensive equipment. But most other colleges give you a kit with the programs you need, this school does not. Over charging for classes and you will always fail at least once.
What to do for fun Some classes have field trips.
Food and Dining Student store for snacks, Cafe for food.
Dorm Life Housing director does not care for the students. Overcharges bill.
Academic Rigor Some teachers are good. But others either don't teach what you need to learn in that class, or they don't care about the student.
Tips for prospective students Only go if you are willing to deal with the problems of paying for this school and staying the entire time.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have security officers that are at both campuses from open to close, and they also have a door person on the first floor upon entering the building.
Greek Life The only Greek organization is Kappa Omicron Nu, which is for students who excel in their studies and have high a GPA. Other than that, if you want to be in a traditional sorority or fraternity, you will have to contact a city chapter for that.
Clubs and Activities There are plenty of clubs available, some greater than others, and some more consistent with activities than others.
Great for these types of students This school is great for students who are determined to graduate regardless of the sacrifice and the cost, meaning you will have NUMEROUS all-nighters that you will have to pull, your health will definitely be affected from the stress, and be ready to deal with the rampant unfair practices of some of the faculty at this particular school.
Bang for the buck I believe that for the most part I received my money's worth when it came to knowledge versus the amount of money I paid to go here. However, I would caution ANY perspective student: do NOT take your general education classes at this institution! Go to a city school after getting the course schedule for your chosen major from AI, and then pick your gen ed classes based upon that schedule to transfer to AI once you have taken all required courses somewhere else!
Food and Dining The culinary students often would make food available for all students for free, and it was ALWAYS quite delicious! There was no lunchroom for this school because it is not a traditional school.
Academic Rigor The coursework for my program was extremely challenging and difficult at times. However, sometimes undo stress was placed upon students in my major because a couple of the instructors were very unreasonable at times in regards to various issues.
Tips for prospective students You need to make SURE that you are ready to study for your core classes because they do not play here when it comes to the entertainment industry related majors. Also, TAKE YOUR GENERAL EDUCATION CLASSES AT A CHEAPER SCHOOL FIRST and THEN transfer them to AI!!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Occasional mishaps, but that's expected in any college. There are security guards on duty 24/7 at this school for everyone's safety.
Great for these types of students Hard working, dedicated students that really want a good experience. Not just a degree in order to get a job... All of the staff here have real world experience and it shows through their students accomplishments.
Bang for the buck The staff really make this school worth it. They are all top notch in their dedicated fields and know what they are teaching because they are very passionate about it.
What to do for fun There is a library full of books as well as wifi throughout the school. There is also an Xbox in the student lounge.
Food and Dining The food is simply amazing, but that is expected from a school with a culinary program. The culinary instructors know what they are doing and it shows through their students.
Dorm Life I can't really speak on this as I have never even seen the dorms... I live elsewhere.
Academic Rigor This is not an easy school, it requires a great deal of hard work and dedication just to pass your classes.
Tips for prospective students This is a very fast paced school, so be prepared for that. It is also a little on the expensive side, but the education is worth every red cent.
In three sentences Simply put, I love this school. It is not an easy school by any means, but the quality is unmatched. The small classes make this school very conducive to learning.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe, I have no problem walking home late at night from my classes. If you don't like to we do have taxis here.
Clubs and Activities The art Institute does have clubs to help other majors get to know other people in the school. So just because you are going out for a surton major doesn't mean you can't join a club with a different interest/
What to do for fun We do have concerts here in Portland, Plays, the Zoo, Powell's book store, really anything.
Food and Dining There are so many restaurants around here that you will never get bored with eating the same things ever.
Dorm Life I would recommend finding some place cheaper than living at the dorms for the Art Institute, they can be very pricey. I lived at different dorm over by PSU which is cheaper.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I cannot honestly complain security is fantastic at our campus. Security is known and they know us as well. The Security is always there and makes us feel safe every day.
Greek Life Unfortunately, we do not have that at this time however, I think it would be a great idea to partner up with all Art Institutes to make that happen.
Clubs and Activities Clubs are good but can be better. I attend The Fashion Stars which I think could be managed better. But overall it has its periods when it can be pretty amazing.
Great for these types of students Creative visual learners wanting to explore and maximize their learning ability.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus My most unusual experience would have to be the creative people that attend. There are so many students that are so creative in many ways some even exposing creativity on their bodies.
Bang for the buck I have so many resources in the Library that help me to complete assignments, papers, projects, and classwork.
What to do for fun The Art Institute has different clubs that you can join of your interest. These clubs offer so many Fun and exciting events to keep you busy on weekends.
Food and Dining Food and Dining is exceptional they have the best chefs in the working. The dining experience is phenomenal they also offer 3 course meals on weekend to give them the experience.
Dorm Life I do not live in dorms I am off campus.
Academic Rigor Academically the Art Institutes offers so much. They teach you to take your creativity to a different level expanding your thoughts abundantly. You get the full effect of a normal class yet using creative techniques making it more enjoyable to learn effectively.
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a fast paced environment. Also stay focused and always submit your best work. Always try your best to be on time and attend your classes schedule. Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is so locked up and safe that sometimes even students can't get in easily. Even though we share the building with some other companies, we have card scanners set up in all of the elevators and any of the doors to the stairways that could lead to the classrooms. You do not want to lose or forget your identification card.
Great for these types of students Despite being artists, you have to really be someone who won't procrastinate on getting your projects done. Oh, and the classes are typically either three or four hours long so you'll need to be someone who can pay attention for that long.
Bang for the buck The Art Institutes are really pricy, but if you want a really hands-on education with fairly flexible scheduling then it's pretty good.
What to do for fun Anything you want really. The school is located in a really built up part of Virginia Beach and so there is a nearby bookstore, other shops, a little art center, and a ton of little hidden shops in the streets.
Food and Dining Most of the restaurants right around the school are actually restaurants and not really something you can just hop on over to during breaks to get food. There are a couple of places you can get little snacks besides just the vending machines in the lounges, but they can get kind of pricy.
Dorm Life I'm not living in the dorms currently, but I hear the apartment complex that my school is partnered with is supposed to be pretty nice. It's only a couple of streets down from the school and right around a bunch of shopping areas.
Academic Rigor How hard the grading is really depends a lot on the teachers and your willingness to ask them for help and/or guidance. They don't want you to fail.
Tips for prospective students Instructors will help you, but don't expect them to hold your hand. Be ready to check your e-mail regularly and do a lot of online correspondence. As long as you apply yourself and are really into your field of study, you will do fine.
In three sentences The Art Institute isn't nearly as bad as a lot of reviews I have seen for them in the past. The more effort you put in yourself, the more you will get out of your education. It's really hands-on learning and a lot of practice.
