Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for students who are looking to have close relationships with their professors. Most of the classes are 25-30 students. All the professors I've had so far have been really caring and helpful. They all learn each of their students' names. I even have one professor with a 200-student class, and he is working on learning everyone's name.

    Tips for prospective students

I would encourage prospective students to try one semester undeclared first. Even if you already know for sure what you want to major in, just wait to declare it because then I think you are more open-minded. Also, I would encourage prospective students to live on campus. Living on campus really allows you to be more involved and feel like you're a part of the college community.

    Bang for the buck

Very active campus, excellent education, many good places to eat, constant changes (new campus center being built right now)

    Am enjoying being here

Stockton has much to offer. Residential life at Stockton is excellent. There is not one thing I dislike about living on campus. The main campus where I attend classes is no more than a ten minute walk from the dorms. When I am not in class or doing homework, I am at Stockton After Hours events. There are events three to four times each week: movie nights, game nights, bingo night, quizzo nights, karaoke nights, craft nights, candy nights, comedy nights, and more. The best part about it is that everything is free, and there are snacks and beverages, and many opportunities to win prizes and money. In addition, there are many clubs and organizations students can be a part of. There really is something for everyone.

    Am learning a lot

There is a wide variety of courses available. When it comes time for me to register for classes, I am stuck because there are so many I want to take, and not enough time. I really love that Stockton encourages students to gain a breadth of knowledge by exploring different areas. When I attended instant-decision day the man who was reviewing my application and transcript told me that undeclared is the best way to go for the first semester. I strongly agree because without a set major right now, I am very open-minded and am trying many different things. As a result, I have taken a variety of different courses and have discovered a couple new areas that interest me, that I never would have thought twice about before. Additionally, the professors here are excellent, and passionate about teaching others. They really care about their students, and make it known.

Great for these types of students

Stockton College is a GREAT science school. It is also a good business school. I would also recommend Stockton for anyone who doesn't want to enter a huge college. Stockton is on the small side, and is very comfortable. It has changed my life, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

    Tips for prospective students

I would definitely recommend on going to the SOAR program the weekend before school starts. I met three of my best friends during that program. I would also recommend going to all the activities they have during the first week of school. It really helps you feel more comfortable in your new surroundings. Take classes you think you will enjoy, but also take classes you've never really heard of. College is all about experiencing new things, and Stockton definitely gives every student that opportunity.

    Bang for the buck

Although Stockton is a state school, it is still extremely expensive. But, on the bright side, it offers many amazing scholarships that aren't too hard to achieve.

    Am enjoying being here

Stockton College gives freshman numerous opportunities through different freshman activities to meet one another. I made many friends within my first few days at Stockton. It is a relatively small school, and the buildings are in ABC order so it is very easy to find your way around. The college offers a variety of clubs, organizations, and sports for anyone to get into.

    Am learning a lot

The professors that I have had so far have been great. Each teacher has taken time out of class to work with students who are struggling or need help in choosing which career they may pursue. Stockton College has an enormous amount of different classes to choose from and everyone is extremely friendly.

Great for these types of students

I really enjoy the Criminal Justice system here.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply to as many colleges as possible and make sure you visit them! You want to go to a school thats right for you.

    Bang for the buck

Stockton is a great state school, and its one of the cheaper ones.

    Am enjoying being here

I love being at school, I never go home unless I have to.

    Am learning a lot

All of the teachers that I have had cared a lot about your learning. They take time to make sure you understand everything and know what is going on in the class.

Great for these types of students

Stockton's perfect for homebodies, wood nymphs, and environmental science majors.

    Tips for prospective students

Live on campus; even if you go home on the weekends, you'll have an easier time making friends and with classes if you're living on campus. Furthermore, visit the campus and make sure it's the right school for you. If not, you'll end up feeling like you got gypped by the system. Go to the school that makes you happy.

    Bang for the buck

Stockton is incredibly cheap, comparatively speaking, and you're not getting a shabby education for your money, either. If you're looking for a good choice financially, this might just be it for you. They also tend to give good scholarships and financial aid.

    Am enjoying being here

There's absolutely nothing to do on campus; everyone pretty much goes home on the weekends. If you're a commuter like I am, you're going to have even less of a good time; class projects are a little harder to do, and you're going to have a harder time making those lasting friendships you're supposed to make.

    Am learning a lot

There are a lot of teachers here who are amazing, and then there are some who aren't as excellent. It really just depends on what classes you're taking, and if you got lucky.

Great for these types of students

Any and all students! No matter your age, the GPA you have or your choice of study. Best for undecided students, you have many choices in one School, no more worrying about the need to switch schools if you change majors once or 15times!

    Tips for prospective students

Take a tour of the campus, apply for instant decision day if your eligible, join as many clubs or activities as you can to meet people, go on the SOAR trip (Stockton Orientation Adventure Retreat) and enjoy the experiences while you can, it goes by quicker than you think.

    Bang for the buck

The educational experience and the social experiences you gain at Stockton are definitely worth the money you spend each semester. Also it is the cheapest tuition for a state school in NJ.

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love it at Stockton. The campus is beautiful, on your daily walk to class from the apartments you can enjoy a view of Lake Fred and Lake Pam, and the giant trees surrounding the paths. You can enjoy the sand volleyball courts, or the numerous fields or if your a gym buff you can work out in one of our two weight rooms. The people are nice, its as if your one big family you'll see someone you know anywhere you go.

    Am learning a lot

There is a very wide variety of classes, you can take classes on topics such as Natural Disasters to Forensic Science, to Ballet or Psychology or even Nursing. It has multiple school divisions dedicated to different studies: Behavioral and Social Sciences; Business; Arts and Humanities; Education; General Studies; Graduate and Continuing Studies; Health Sciences and the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for students who don't enjoy the city life and prefer a calm setting. The campus is beautiful and set back in the woods.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not get caught up in the excitement and put off your homework and studies because it will add up and end up hurting you.

    Bang for the buck

The college is an affordable one. MOST of the teachers are friendly and willing to help, and make it worth the money.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus life is a little less than average. During the week is busy, but weekends tend to be dull. It's a lot of fun when you make friends and keep yourself busy doing things with them. There's a mall and other stores and restaurants close by as well.

    Am learning a lot

The classes are a range in difficulty, as is the class size. It's not too hard as long as you pay attention and do your work. Studying requires a lot of time and effort, and should be done.

Great for these types of students

Those who liek to get involved, love the outdoors, like being located near the beach, and those that like to be in close proximity to the city (Philadelphia and Atlantic City).

    Tips for prospective students

    Get Involved!

    Bang for the buck

College is an expensive school but it is definately worth it. Small class sizes, knowledgable professors, kind staff, and a diverse student development makes Stockton an easy transition into college life for any highschooler.

    Am enjoying being here

Stockton's location doesnt offer much to those without transportation. However, if a student gets involved with all the activities that the college's Student Development has to offer, is/her time here will be awesome! There are monthly (free) trips to Philadelphia and New York to visit museums and plays, as well as different clubs and fraternities/sororities to join!

    Am learning a lot

Stockton has some of the absolutely best professors. Over 90% of the professors have earned the highest degree avalible in his/her field and it shows. They get to know students on the first name bases which really help build strong bonds between pupils and instructors.

Great for these types of students

Stockton is best for students interested in the environment or in hospitality (since the location is ideal for internship/post-graduation opportunities) and students who want to attend a small school (because classes typically consist of 25 to 30 students).

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you check out the ENTIRE campus in person before making a decision. If you are accepted, be sure to get involved with clubs or sports.

    Bang for the buck

This school is extremely affordable for commuters, but as a resident, I find it a little unreasonable. Although Stockton is not nearly as expensive as most other schools in New Jersey, I don't think the costs of living/meals are fairly priced.

    Am enjoying being here

The school once offered very little to do on campus, but with the help of the Stockton Entertainment Team and the Stockton After Hours program, there is guaranteed to be some sort of event going on each night of the week. Open mic nights, movie nights, game nights, and exercise classes are just a few examples of what is available for students to enjoy.

    Am learning a lot

There are many interesting courses to take here, anything from paranormal courses to nature courses to courses about the history of different kinds of music. Some of the professors are absolutely brilliant and interesting (i.e. Professor Daly) and most are specialized in the area they teach!

Stockton's good for science (especially environmental studies), math, and medical students and those who want casual, personal relationships with professors and staff.

    Tips for prospective students

It's important to have good grades and SAT score in order to be eligible to receive financial aid in the very first year (currently, the Presidential Scholarship with an SAT Critical Writing and Math total score of at least 1400 and a rank in the top five percent of your class, Provost's Scholarship with 1250 and in the top ten percent, and the Dean's Scholarship with 1150 and in the top 15 percent; it's all on the website) as well as to review all of your major options once you're a student -- there are many fields of study available at Stockton, so it's good to check them all out before declaring your major(s) and/or minor(s). And once you've enrolled at Stockton, remember to join at least one or two clubs, organizations, or sports teams. :)

    Bang for the buck

Much financial aid is given based on financial need and academic ability. It's crucial to apply for the FAFSA well before deciding to attend any school. At Stockton, any problems that you may have can be handled by the Bursar's Office.

    Am enjoying being here

It's in a suburban area in the Pinelands, but it is close to Atlantic City, Ocean City, and other Jersey Shore towns. There are many clubs and intramural sports on campus, as well as bus trips to places like museums and to watch Broadway plays in New York City. I'm a commuter, so I'm not entirely acquainted with campus life, but I know that there are many dorms and apartments off campus.

    Am learning a lot

Many of the professors have earned doctorate degrees and have a lot of knowledge about their field. Some professors have higher standards for students than others, but that's typical of any college. In addition to classroom experiences, there are also several opportunities to conduct independent scientific research if you take advantage of them or have a job on campus, whether it's in the library, theater box office, or working as a Teacher's Assistant.

I believe that the Richard Stockton College in Pomona, NJ is an excellent school and everyone who wants to go to school should check it out! Students from the ages of 18 to infinity should apply!

    Tips for prospective students

I would encourage anyone who is interested in exploring a college to explore a 4 year college! It's worth the experience! Take it from an older person in there 40's, I should have came here first.

    Bang for the buck

I believe that the course I'm studying Speech Language Pathologist is one of the best courses to studying for in the Medical field, besides being a Doctor! I believe that it will be worth every penny!

    Am enjoying being here

I transferred in as a Junior from a community college and the rewards of being at a 4 year college is unbelievable! I didn't know that I could have this much fun at a bigger college!

With all the new building, if you are commuting be sure to come early, there is litterally no parking after 9:30 am.

Stockton is New Jersey's Distinctive Public School as well as New Jersey's Green College. They have awesome Biology and Environmental Studies courses.

    Tips for prospective students

If living off campus arrive early for classes because finding parking is hard with the construction going on.Food on campus is great there and is always tax free. The meal plan is available at other local restaurants outside the school.

    Bang for the buck

Being in state and using financial aid I am getting an amazing education for a great price. Stockton uses flat rate tuition, so whether you take 3, 4 or 5 classes you pay the same flat rate. I put this to use by taking five classes to save money and graduate sooner. There are so many ways to save money like living off campus as well. The food is tax free for students and the meal plan works at many places outside the school, in local restaurants and pizzerias.

    Am enjoying being here

I live off campus but stockton has so many clubs and organizations there is something going on almost everyday. SAH Stockton after hours always has game or movie nights with current movies you actually want to see! And they plan a lot of activities for students after classes.

    Am learning a lot

Stockton is a great school with many amazing teachers. All of my teachers are currently working in their field and have great stories and examples of real situations in the workplace. I really feel like I am learning everything I need to know to get a job and be able to perform once I am out of school. One of my teachers is helping me create projects for interviews and setting me up with a local internship. All of my teachers are involved and very willing to help which is so comforting.

    Bang for the buck

One thing that is really unique at Stockton is that you can take 3 classes (12 credits) or 5 classes (20 credits) for the same price. So if you took 5 classes per semester for a 4 year degree you could graduate in 3.5 years and cut down some major costs to the tune of $12K.

    Food and Dining

N-wing is not quite the same as the food I can cook in my kitchen, but it is not as unhealthy for you as the other fast food restaurant options on campus such as Chik-fil-a and Johnny Rockets.

    Dorm Life

I love living on campus because we are in the Pine Barrens and are surrounded with gorgeous, ever-changing nature.

    Academic Rigor

The academic course load is a very different pace from high school as one would expect. The professors do their best to help the students succeed.

    Campus Safety

Campus safety is really important to this school they even have there own set of campus police. This is important because for many parents they are trusting an institution with their child's safety. Many rules are set on the dorms such as no alcoholic beverages, smoking and a few more which are reasonable and essential elements to a safe campus.

    Greek Life

Although i am not part of the Greek life i have friends who are part of the sororities or fraternities. Many join the one that there family members from past years have joined, others want to be part of team or family. No matter the reason Greek life is a great opportunity to make new friends and carry those friendships with you through life.

    Clubs and Activities

When it comes to clubs and activities there are a variety of different clubs to join so that a student can become more involved with this school. In addition a few times a semester groups will give out information about there clubs telling you just what its all about. Basically, if you have some free time or have an interest in something chances are there is a club or activity that will be just for it.

Great for these types of students

I can't say that this school is great for any one type of person because you can find just about every type of student here in the hallways of Stockton. I must admit that I enjoy the diversity of this school. In the end you can always find someplace to belong because of the melting pot of backgrounds of students here at Stockton.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I suppose the only unusual aspects of Stockton is lake Fred. A lake behind the institution that has been there for so long people talk about what might possibly inhabit it. As for unusual traditions I am not so in tuned with campus life that I know of any particular traditions.

There isn't too much more to say except if your serious about your education this school will provide plenty of room for you to grow academically. Furthermore, you will find that the overall student population is of a caliber that will help motivate you to be your best. Teachers also will always be there to help you with any problems that may arise during your time here at Stockton.

    What to do for fun

Activities for recreational purposes include clubs, games that are held on many occasions and events that occur around campus daily. A few examples of this are the movie nights in the campus center theatre, karaoke, pool, and the list goes on. Many students have so much going on that they either don't realize or just don't care that so many events occur daily that they can participate in.

    Food and Dining

As for the food and dining here at Richard Stockton College I have to say it's better then most. The newly erected campus center is home to for lack of a better term a food court. There is a wide variety of foods to choose from for every type of diet. However, the choice of picking healthier choices versus the more unhealthy here at Stockton is ultimately that said individuals but one cannot say that both are not available at this school.

    Dorm Life

I don't live on campus I commute because I live about 15 minutes maybe less away from the campus. However, I've heard good things like the campus is clean and all basic amenities needed for a comfortable living space is given to the students. At the end of the day living on campus allows students to become more involved with clubs, and campus activities.

    Academic Rigor

With any school I think the academic rigor depends on your major and predominantly the classes that are needed to take for that desired major. I personally I am a biology major, not an easy major to pursue, but it helps to be organize and have a plan. Essentially, it boils down to the students drive and determination to obtain the knowledge given to them that will determine how well a student does at any institution.

    Tips for prospective students

For any prospective students I just want to make it clear that if you are a student coming out of high school, who lives in the area then come to this school. Its not about moving as far away as possible its about managing your money and the reality is what student can afford to go to school out of state nowadays. For any students coming from out of state or farther north of new jersey this school is great because tuition cost are low and there are so many scholarships, grants and financial aid a student can receive.

    In three sentences

Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is a school that is always progressing to a higher level of education. A school that will soon become a University, is an institution where you can truly receive a quality education, have great teachers, and meet many students of different ethnic backgrounds who can challenge you mentally. In my two years here at Stockton I can honestly say that it has been a wonderful experience to attend a college that is in fact preparing me for my graduate studies.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are considering Stockton College, then be prepared to study hard, and also participate in the many clubs and groups that will give you a lifetime of great memories. The more you get involved, the more memories you will take with you through your career and your life!

    In three sentences

Stockton College has a very nice campus set back in the Pinelands of New Jersey, with a beautiful serene lake and nature all around, any student will feel comfortable. Although, I myself am a non-traditional student and older than most, there is so much activity always going on and the dorms are a beautiful nature walk from the main campus. The students have so many opportunities to enjoy so many different clubs and groups and the faculty is an awesome group that will help any student reach their goals.

Then there is the campus center mall like food set up that has many decisions including Chik fil a , Jonny Rockets, Homestyle (hot home cooked foods), and Primos Pizza, and Mondo Subs.

    Dorm Life

As a freshmen you live in a three floor building. I live on the third floor with about 18 other girls. One side of the hallway is single rooms and the other side is doubles with one triple. You have a resident assistant who also lives on your floor who you can go to for any needs and they also decorate the floor and coordinate small floor programs for you.

Depending on the course you take and your strengths and weaknesses you may find some classes hard and others easier and someone may disagree with you depending on their personal strengths and weaknesses academically.

    Campus Safety

Stockton has their own police located right on campus. There are cameras located throughout the campus. There are also emergency phones available for everyone to use. You also have students that are there to be a designated driver if you need one.

    Greek Life

I am not a member of Greek Life. However, I met some people that are and they are nice. They are helpful when you need them. There are Greek organizations on campus you just have to find the ones in charge and talk to them if you are interesting in being a part of Greek Life.

    Clubs and Activities

They have clubs and activities for everyone. You are also able to start your own club with the help from the faculty members that are willing to help you.

Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for everyone. People who are only concerned with academics, people who want to get involved, and anyone else.

    Bang for the buck

I would say that Stockton could improve on some things. They are having a little problems but if they fix it then it would be better.

    What to do for fun

For fun, you have billiards, ping pong, fuse ball on campus. They have movies shown on campus every week. There are things to do off campus as well. They are not far from the college. For instance, there is a mall nearby and a bowling alley.

    Food and Dining

The food is okay. It could be a little better. They do have salads and other healthy foods for students. The prices are outrageous though.

    Dorm Life

Living in dorms are okay. Sometimes you will have people who do not like to sleep and they like to make noise. The floor above you may be noisy. The RAs are nice.

    Academic Rigor

The academcs here are good. You just have to keep track of your classes the best you can.

    Tips for prospective students

Keep track of your progress. Make sure you know what classes you have to take. Make sure you have a good relationship with your advisor. Try to get involved with clubs and activities on campus. Try to have a good relationship with as many people as you can.

    Campus Safety

Oh boy, do they have a lot of cops over here patrolling the area, making sure everything's safe. (Stockton has gotten huge)

    Greek Life

I'm am truly sorry. I don't know much about them.

    Clubs and Activities

I listed some of the activities above, but there are so many. Too many to list them all. The activities that I have had time to observed seem to have happy members who are really enjoying their time with one another.

Great for these types of students

Yoga and Aerobics are two great activities for people that share the same major as I. Business management is a really stressful major as well as occupation. These two types of activities are great answers for a stressful day.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I haven't come across any unusual traditions or locations of campus as of yet. But now that the idea has been set in my mind, I may go see if I can find any. Thank You.

    Bang for the buck

As far as the cost, I think education these days is incredibly too expensive. It's like now you have to pay to receive education in order to get a job.

    What to do for fun

Stockton has a lot of different activities going on during the school year. Some of those activities include aerobics classes (such as zumba), Yoga classes, basketball, football, tennis, soccer, dance, theater, and many others.

    Food and Dining

The food is great. We have a food court in the campus center. That food court has a variety of foods that should be able to fit every one's appetite.

    Dorm Life

I wouldn't know about the dorms because I live in my own apartment. I gave this 3 stars because if it were to bad, I figure I would have heard complaints about it. (I've heard complaints about certain professors plenty of times.)

    Academic Rigor

As far as the college being very strict, I can't say that they are. Me being a returning student who is eager to learn, knows how to come to class everyday, is on time, and does what is assigned for me to do, why would they need to be strict with someone like me anyway. I already have a clear understanding that I need to do the work and get it done accurately.

    Tips for prospective students

Before choosing any college, make sure you are 100% sure that they have all the necessary courses you need in order to complete your degree. Also, it is very important that you be aware of what each course has to offer. Many students find it pertinent to get hands on experience in the classroom so that when you finally land that dream job, you are perfectly prepared for the postition.

    In three sentences

On a scale from 1 to 10..... I'd give Stockton a 9. The classes you need for your major a very easy to attain. If your having a problem with finding/landing job opportunities, the professional staff at the career center are very helpful.

Great for these types of students

Party people, frat boys, sorority girls, serious learners.. basically anyone

    Bang for the buck

This school has great programs for the price.

    What to do for fun

Hang out with your friends, chill in the cafe, walk around the lake.. Not to mention Atlantic City is so close, you can basically do anything.

    Food and Dining

Stockton has a lot of on campus selections for eating. Nothing is really top notch, but its perfect for college students. There are a lot of off campus restaurants one might find delicious as well.

    Dorm Life

I have never personally lived on campus, but between hearing stories and visiting my own friends I have to say that the dorm life definitely sounds exciting.

    Academic Rigor

Every college has absurdly easy classes and ridiculously hard classes. Stockton's teachers are very professional and they really try to help all of their students. Do the work and do not be afraid to ask questions and you should do fine.

    Tips for prospective students

Take college seriously, just because your school is supposedly a party school does not mean your teachers will take it easy on you.

    In three sentences

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is a great college to earn your bachelor's degree. The teachers have unbelievable experience and they take their courses very seriously. I am very pleased that I chose this school.

    Campus Safety

I can't think of many safer campuses than Stockton. Their security and on campus police are absolutely the best. They're tough as nails and absolutely committed to the job, but they are approachable and friendly too.

    Greek Life

I am not part of Greek Life, but at Stockton it is very involved and has a lot of branches here.

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many clubs. There are clubs from the traditional Theatre Club to the unusual EDIBL club where you eat bugs! (I highly recommend that club actually, it's quite intriguing and very healthy for you). It's rare not to find a club suited to one's interests, and forming a club is not an ordeal.

Great for these types of students

Any Environmental Science majors, Literature majors, Math majors, Biology majors, and Physics majors will find comfort in Stockton.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are two lakes, Pam and Fred, that are beautiful. Pam is a little hidden in the woods, but you can swim in it and it is gorgeous.

    Bang for the buck

I love it here. I did not know what to expect from College Life in general, and Stockton has me absolutely enthralled with everything. I love it here, and I can't think of anywhere else I could be right now. Price wise, for a commuter, It is great. Living on campus isn't too expensive either, but you are definitely getting your worth in this college.

    What to do for fun

There are a ton of on-campus clubs running non stop for everyone. There are tennis courts and a volleyball court for use by students and faculty. Stockton has a full-fledged weight lifting room and gym for any sports-enthusiasts, and there is a track and field area right behind the gym for cross-country, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and baseball. There is quite a long nature trail that runs the course of the campus. It is quite beautiful. There is a theatre accessible by anyone, and there are frequent shows put up by Stockton and its clubs. The Campus Center has Foosball Tables, Billiards Tables, and Ping Pong tables for use by the students, and they are open almost all day. There is also an indoor gym for basketball, racquetball, weightlifting, and squash. There are also many computer labs for anyone.

    Food and Dining

The food is great here. The new Campus Center is stocked with food, it's just a little hard to get it on some days. Don't get me wrong, they will feed you quite well, it's just the food closes kind of quickly, and you will have to resort to Primo's for meals quite regularly. There is a Wawa just down the street, though, so you're not going to starve.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are great, so I hear. I commute, so my opinion has less weight, but I have heard that everything is pretty great for living on campus.

    Academic Rigor

They will put you to the test, but not unfairly. All of the staff know what they're talking about, and they are great teachers.

    Tips for prospective students

If you need a great school for Biology, Literature, Environmental Science, or Music, then this should be a first on your list. I'm going for Mechanical Engineering and there's a program here for that. They have everything.

    In three sentences

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is, as its title says, the most Distinctive College of New Jersey. It has a beautiful campus, great faculty, and has great programs for a wide spectrum of students. This is probably the best college I could have chosen.

On campus, the Stockton Entertainment Team always has some activities for the students to get together and do at night. There are also movie nights twice a week in the campus center!

    Food and Dining

There are many food choices including Johnny Rockets, a well-known Italian place, subs, and the cafeteria buffet. There are many options to choose from and you can even use some of your unrestricted meals at off campus restaurants!

    Dorm Life

The dorms are great. My roommate and I got placed together randomly and we are still the best of friends. The dorms in Housing II are the biggest I had seen at any school. The dorms provide a place for the freshmen to all get together and meet new people.

    Academic Rigor

The academics at Stockton are very fair. If you work hard and go to class, you will probably do well. The professors are always willing to help and from my experiences, the coursework is average.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Be a part of the college experience. Do not let opportunities pass you by. You want to be able to look back at your college years and say, I got everything out of college that I intended to.

    Campus Safety

The campus safety is a big thing. If you have a late class and do not have anyone to walk back with, there is campus police that can escort you back to your dorm.

    Clubs and Activities

I am involved in 4 clubs already and I was just a freshman last year. There are many clubs to get involved in.

    What to do for fun

There are many clubs on campus. They hold events just about every month. Every Thursday is movie night in the auditorium. There is a game room. The mall is near by with a movie theater. The school is very much on getting the students involved with clubs.

    Food and Dining

There are many options to eat at. They have pizza, homestyle, chick-fil-a, the dining hall, and lots of options.

    Dorm Life

I personally didn't have a great dorm experience, but I know other students who did. They really try to get everyone involved with the students on the floors.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are great, the professors are great.

    Tips for prospective students

Get everything in on time. Do not be late to class. Study hard, have fun, and get involved in whatever you can.

    In three sentences

It is fun and challenging. It gives great opportunities for leadership. It allows me to get involved.

    What to do for fun

I love that there is a shopping center and a mall very close to the campus which is something that is fun for me. There is also a lake that is between upperclassman housing and the academic building where you can go fishing or just relax like you're at the beach. For most students who are over 21, Atlantic City is right down the road where you can go to the casinos, bars, clubs, and obviously for everyone there's the beach. There are also outlet stores right by the beach and the boardwalk. All of the Jersey Shore points aren't too far away. In the campus center there are pool tables, ping pong, board games, and foosball. There's usually never a dull moment here because there is so much to do.

    Food and Dining

I'm not a huge fan of the food court because it is mostly greasy fast food, but there are a few healthy options and I feel like theres a lot of variety.

    Dorm Life

Such a great atmosphere especially for Freshman and transfers. Not much to pick from as a new student but upperclassmen have many options in housing which is great. Also great that all of the housing is within a 5 minute walking distance to the food court, academic buildings, and recreational buildings and events.

    Academic Rigor

From the classes I have taken thus far and from what I have heard, classes are not difficult. I have heard many people say that Stockton classes are a joke and that they would have been better off going to a county school. Most of my friends who went away to other schools can't believe how little I have to do in my classes. Definitely an easy college, but may not be worth the money.

    Tips for prospective students

I encourage students who are looking for a small college to come here. I believe that this school is a great home away from home but I would only suggest students who live within an hour to come here because it is known for many students to go home on the weekends.

    In three sentences

Stockton is very very small. I enjoy the atmosphere, but it's just not right for me. It doesn't necessarily offer all of the things I want.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for friendly people. People who have goals and have their head on right will love it here. You have to know when to say yes and no and how to act in certain situations. Be nice and meet new people, you never know who you will become friends with.

    Food and Dining

They good for here at Stockton. The N-wing cafeteria is not the best but it is a cheap buffet. They always have snacks at night as well! Be careful of your spending because if you go to overboard you'll be broke within the first two months. Be smart!

    Dorm Life

One thing to know is if you do not like your roommate, leave before anything bad happens. Some people just do not get along no matter how hard they try. If that is the case you must make new arrangements as soon as possible so it doesn't effect how you feel about staying on campus. Keep an open mind and stay friendly with people in your dorm because you'll never know when you might need them! My floor mates and I have became extremely close in this past month :)

    Academic Rigor

The professors here at Stockton are always willing to help. You can either stay after class, go to their office, or email them with any questions you may have. As long as you keep up on your school work and study well, you will do just fine.

    Tips for prospective students

For athletes wanting to come to Stockton I advise you to practice, practice, and practice; Stockton takes their sports very seriously and all in all they have great sports teams. You should get to know people with different ethnicity's as you. If you come to Stockton without an open mind chances are you wont like it. Most importantly, do not get wrapped up in partying every night because your grades were be tremendously affected by it.

    In three sentences

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is an amazing school where all the professors and other aids are always there to help you. There are many things to do and clubs to join that you are never bored here. Campus Safety

I definitely feel safe on campus, for Stockton has its own police department, and devices scattered all over campus to call for help. They even have an police escort program for those who feel unsafe while walking across campus, walking to their cars, etc. at night. I personally feel very safe here.

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of events to attend here. It's actually Homecoming Weekend right now, and there's been a couple of soccer games, a carnival, a bonfire, and a dance which were all really fun actually. During the week, there's still a lot of fun things to do in your spare time: Zumba, boxercise, meditation, sororities, fraternities, and many clubs to choose from! They even have a club just for eating bugs here at Stockton!

    Food and Dining

Stockton has a college student's favorite foods right on campus. Chick-Fil-A, Johnny Rockets, Primo's Pizza, etc. Even more, Stockton has food for those who want to eat healthy and want to get away from all the fast food. My only problem is that the healthy options often go over the amount allotted for each meal, making me only get the healthy options occasionally. The student restaurant is alright, where it has it's good days and bad days on food, but I can say the make a variety of foods there, so there's always something new to try for sure.

    Dorm Life

No dorms are glorious places to live, but I'd say that the ones here at Stockton are decent. Naturally, the aren't too big, and whether your room is sweltering hot or ice cold isn't exactly your choice. However, the dorms were clean for the most part, and the bathrooms are kept pretty well, s I don't have any Bathroom Horror Storiesto tel, fortunately. Just always make sure you have your key with you when you leave places, because as it's happened twice to me so far, you might accidentally lock your door when it's open, and it's not fun walking to the Residential Life Building without shoes at almost eight at night- trust me.

    Academic Rigor

As with any student, there are classes that are successes and others that are hit and misses. In all honesty, in the five classes that I'm currently taking, I feel as though I am actually learning anything in about three of them, for the other two, they are more of lectures, doing the work on your own, and then learning from your mistakes, rather than getting the information prior in order to help avoid making such mistakes. Maybe that's just college, or perhaps things will be different next semester, and it might just be my classes, but the other students in my classes feel pretty much the same.

    Tips for prospective students

For prospective students, be prepared to meet a LOT of other students and interacting with them the first few days after moving in during Stockton's Welcome Week. Another tip would be to get your map, and in your spare time before classes begin, try and understand the campus grounds; Stockton's campus isn't too big, but when classes start and you're short on time, the last thing you want to do is running around on the first crucial days of the semester!

    In three sentences

Richard Stockton is a place of really kind people for the most part, where people you only slightly know smile warmly and give a nice, Hi!. The surroundings are beautiful, as being surrounded by the Pinelands is breathtaking- and don't forget about the glistening Lake Fred! I take walks around it frequently, which is a good way to enjoy nature and be active.

    Campus Safety

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is the number one safest public college in New Jersey. It is the second safest college overall in all of New Jersey, with one private all girls' college being the number one safest in all of New Jersey.

    Greek Life

There are many fraternities and sororities on campus that are well recognized and whose main focus is fundraising and volunteer work. However, there are also a few off campus fraternities and sororities who are not recognized by the school and who have been suspended.

    Clubs and Activities

There are over 150 clubs on campus and plenty of activities to go along with them. There are clubs ranging from ones that are focused on specific majors to a club all about bug eating.

Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for students who love to be environmentally friendly and who are looking for a scenic atmosphere opposed to city life.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have two lakes on campus where students like to walk around and hangout around. The campus is actually on national park soil.

    Bang for the buck

The school is definitely worth the money paid to attend it.

    What to do for fun

There is plenty of clubs, sports, and intramural sports to partake in while on campus. There are also gyms and a volleyball court in the courtyard of the freshmen dorms.

    Food and Dining

The food is alright. There is a food court and all you can eat buffet close to the freshmen dorms. The food court food is good but the all you can eat buffet could use some warmer and better tasting food.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are comfortable and homey feeling, but with the college being a big suitcase school, many students go home on the weekends, leaving it pretty quiet on the weekends.

    Academic Rigor

The academics at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey are consisted of in depth knowledge of each subject of the class, and helps connect to advancement of the person's major.

    Tips for prospective students

I suggest, to be very involved in the school's activities, for it is a big suitcase school.

    In three sentences

Great for these types of students

    Campus Safety

Stockton is pretty secluded and there are emergency buttons spread all over campus in case things get crazy. The Stockton police can be called at any time and can be seen patrolling the school and the campus is pretty well lit apart from the dark path. There are security cameras set up along the paths and around the buildings. Dorms require a student ID to enter and the police will be happy to escort you anywhere you need to go at ANY hour of the day if you're feeling particularly panicked. I have night classes and never really worry about safety when I have to walk alone around the lake from the main campus.

    Greek Life

There ARE sororities and fraternities at Stockton, however there are no greek houses. You'll be living in the normal housing like everyone else. Though I'm not a part of the greek life, it's pretty obvious they like to have fun while still hosting benefits and fundraising for various causes.

    Clubs and Activities

There are numerous clubs available for students and you can get a good look at them during the annual club fair, where the clubs set up tables and talk about what they do. Some clubs, such as the Anime Club, Fencing Club, and the Gaming Club are purely for fun. Others, such as the Physics Club and the Marine Science Club are great for networking and learning about opportunities in those fields. (Marine science club even helps members get SCUBA certified!). You can create a club that isn't there, no matter how unusual it may seem. For example, just last year a new club sprouted up that focuses on the benefits of bugs in your diet. That's right. They eat bugs.

Great for these types of students

As a marine bio major, I can tell you that Stockton offers great opportunities for those seeking marine science degrees. Boat trips in your first year? Check. Small classes where your professors can give you their focus and attention? Check. Clubs that help you get involved and begin networking with others in the field? Check. Stockton also has a fantastic arts program. Apparently one of the best, so it's definitely worth checking out if you want to major in the fine arts. There are also plenty of places for commuters to hang out between classes, with lounges strewn about the campus and a game room for some entertainment while you wait.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There is a gorgeous lake that divides the main campus from the apartments and there are two ways around it - the light path and the dark path. The light path is well lit and poured concrete, while the dark path is essentially a nature trail. It's great for a relaxing walk after a stressful test, especially since you can spot wildlife fairly easily on this campus. Though beware of the dark path during the school's annual humans versus zombies event. The zombies love to lurk there and catch humans off guard!

    Bang for the buck

There are plenty of scholarships given out to students and classes are pretty much worth it, as long as you pick ones that interest you. Teachers are attentive, students get the attention they need, and labs are engaging. Again, undergrads might just experience things usually reserved for grad students only, so that's always a plus. It's a bit more expensive for out of state students, but still do-able for low income families as long as you actually try for those scholarships. Most likely you'll get something.

    What to do for fun

The school holds events every week, so you can count on entertainment if you actually look for it. This includes movie nights, bus trips to the nearby cities, plays, improv performances, and fraternity/sorority sponsored events. There are also speakers who come by quite frequently. If the school bores you though, there are also buses that will take you to the mall nearby as well as Atlantic City, or a free shuttle that will take you to the train for a ride to Philadelphia.

    Food and Dining

While not the most amazing food, it's still pretty good. The school offers plenty of different options including Johnny Rockets, Papa John's Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Chik-fil-a, Mondo's subs, as well as a buffet that changes their menu every day. Coffee connoisseurs can stop by the Bean's List for a morning cup in the main building, and there's a convenient Au Bon Pain shop if you want to grab a sandwich or baked good on your way to your next class. There are also shops around where you can buy things to cook in your dorms if you feel like a bit of home cooking.

    Dorm Life

There are 5 housing areas on Stockton, with 1 being exclusively for freshman, another for transfer students, and the other 3 for upper class-men. The freshman and transfer dorms are single room units shared between 2 students and includes a microwave and mini fridge. Bathrooms are shared by the entire floor and there is a lounge for communal use. The other 3 living areas are across the lake and are apartment style with each individual apartment rooming 4 students, a bathroom, a kitchen area, and a living room. All laundry is free and there is a store open late for students' needs. Each of the 3 types of apartments available have their own perks so students can find which style best suits their personality, though all are surprisingly spacious for college apartments. Wifi is free, cable cords are included, and while the freshman side of the lake (where the actual classrooms are) is a dry campus, the apartment side of the lake allows alcohol. A shuttle runs between the apartments and the campus, so don't worry about walking in the rain. Depending on where you choose to live, dorm life can be quiet or it can be crazy, so choose wisely.

    Academic Rigor

This varies upon student learning style, professor, and class content, however most classes are relatively small compared to larger colleges and the professors can dedicate more time to individuals who approach them for help. Classes are more difficult than high school (as you probably assumed), and science majors should expect to be writing quite a few research papers once they're here. Personally I tend to work on my own, however for those who need an extra boost, they can always email or visit their professors or stop by the tutoring center. Work shouldn't take up all your time though, and there's plenty of room for fun.

    Tips for prospective students

Get your applications in and sign up for SOAR. It's a fun experience a great way to be introduced to your fellow freshman. Apply for the honors program! Even if you don't think you'll make it, you never know, so give it a shot. It offers some opportunities you won't get as a regular student. Don't panic. Keep a level head and make sure to break up study time with something fun and stress relieving.

    In three sentences

A small school that offers opportunities to undergrads bigger schools save for graduate students. Stockton College is surrounded by nature, yet close enough to Atlantic City for those seeking a little more life during their down time. Both science and art are catered to at this gem of a school.

Also know exactly what classes you need to take and when, because most times getting into classes you need to graduate is almost impossible.

    In three sentences

I have had nothing but problems since coming here, particularly with financial aid. The vast majority of the professors are not helpful, and either don't answer your questions, or just don't respond to e-mails in any way. Parking is also atrocious if you're a commuter.

    Campus Safety

Never heard of any ongoing problems regarding campus safety. Any school no matter where you go is going to have a few occasional incidents with minor issues, but Stockton has a great police force who protects the campus and community.

    Greek Life

There are tons of fraternities and sororities at Stockton, and one for everyone, so if you're interested you should have no problem finding one that is a good fit for you!

    Clubs and Activities

There is literally a club for ANYTHING and everything you could be interested in. And by the mere chance that there isn't already, you can ALWAYS easily start up your own club!

    Bang for the buck

I really think that you get your money's worth with Stockton. It isn't extremely expensive and you get a good education and experience for what you're paying.

    What to do for fun

Atlantic City is only ten/fifteen minutes from Stockton so you can always go visit there! If you're 21 there's the casinos and bars and stuff, and if you're under 21 there's still fun things to do like go to an aquarium or a concert! The cape may zoo is only 20 minutes away, smithville (an adorable place with cute shops and places to eat) is right by the school, and then of course there are always things to do ON campus. Movie nights every thursday, zumba and kickboxing classes different days of the week, open mic coffee houses every month....there's lots to do on campus!

    Food and Dining

The on campus dining is pretty good; there is a buffet style cafeteria which is not amazing but it's alright. And then there is a campus center food court with Johnny Rockets, Chick-fil-A, a pizzeria, sub place, and a homestyle-cooking place. It's actually really good. And then of course when all fails, there's a dunkin donuts right in the campus center as well. If you want to venture off campus, there is literally almost everything. Subway, Applebees, TGI Fridays, Wawa (always delicious), Sushi places, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Fro-yo shops, etc. You will never go hungry.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are very nice for the most part; always clean bathrooms and common areas, and they just put new furniture in!

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you go see your preceptor/advisor before scheduling your classes. They are only as helpful as you allow them to be, so if you go to them with your questions they will be more than willing to help you out with whatever you need!

    In three sentences

So far my experiences at Stockton have all been positive. I've met so many amazing people and have learned so much in various different and interesting classes. Although it's very small, it seems to be a good fit so far.

Stockton's campus is very safe. We have our own police department on campus which is patrolled all hours of the night. We have blue light buttons that are placed all over campus which will contact the police to your location if you feel that you need them. I have never felt not safe or in any danger as a girl at Stockton.

    Clubs and Activities

There is a club for everyone at Stockton. If there is something your interested in and we don't have it, it is so easy to found one yourself .

Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for anybody who loves the outdoors. We are surrounded by pinelands and have a huge lake on campus where people like to fish and walk through our nature paths. Stockton is also very close to Ocean City and Atlantic City so if you love the beach Stockton is great for you!

    Food and Dining

There are many different options on campus for dining. On the academic side of campus there is N-Wing, which is buffet style. Also you have the campus center which is set up to be like a food court. There are many options such as Primo's Pizza, Johnny Rocket's, Chic-fil-a , and a few more healthier options as well where you can get salads and sandwiches for a good price. In the campus center as well there is Dina's Deli which is like a little convenience store. On the other side of campus there is Lakeside Lodge. In there, you have a sub place and Papa Johns. Also another larger convenience store.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life at Stockton is like a home away from home. All of the freshman are close together in the quad so everyone can get to know each other. There are a lot of activities set up on weekends and during welcome week that let have a chance to relax, hang out, and get to know each other before classes start. The dorms itself are nice and are in walking distance of everything.

    Academic Rigor

Stockton has a lot of great programs to choose from. The staff is always there to help and they really want you to succeed as a student. Classes are challenging and make you think so you can perform to the best of your ability in the classroom.

    Campus Safety

Stockton is extremely safe due to the fact that the police that monitor our campus daily aren't rent-a-cops. but they are actual Galloway police officers. They carry guns and the full belt of a cop. They've arrested students and are always available when a student needs them to be.

    Greek Life

Stockton is a small school, but Greek Life is a HUGE part of that. You can go nowhere on campus without running into a Greek. The presence is growing due to a new Greek adviser also.

    Clubs and Activities

Stockton has a TON of clubs and activities that fit all student desires. Students also have a chance to start up a club on campus as long as they get enough student interest and an adviser to sign for it.

Great for these types of students

Stockton is great for students will specific handicaps. Everything at Stockton is handicap accessible! From the railings all the way to the class shuttle stops, it's all fair for everyone!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Stockton is located in a very woodsy spot in Galloway, NJ. There are so many trees and forests around it that the signal on cell phones often is an issue, as well as the bugs.

    Bang for the buck

At Stockton, you pay one price, no matter how many courses you take. So as long as you take at lease two courses and no more than five courses, your tuition will be the same price. You do't pay per credit here!

    What to do for fun

Due to the campus being in the middle of a forest, there isn't much to do. We do have a game center area where students can engage in pool, ping pong, board games or some PacMan style game machines. Outside of this area though, that's it...

    Food and Dining

Stockton's food choices are extremely limited, the eateries close early and the choices aren't that broad. There's a Chik-Fil-A, Johnny Rockets, Dunkin Donuts, Primos Pizza, Homestyle, Papa Johns, Mondo's Subs and a small convenience store. Only Primos, Dunkin Donuts, Papa Johns and Mondo's stay open past 7:30pm on the weekdays and these are the only things open on the weekends.

    Dorm Life

I personally loved living in the dorms freshman year. Once you become a sophomore, you get an apartment, but both of these are as fun as you make them.

    Academic Rigor

Stockton is known for it's Science programs primarily. However, nothing else here is easy, not even the general studies courses...

    Tips for prospective students

For anyone interested in possibly coming to Stockton, I'd say that being open to new surroundings and people is insanely crucial. The school is small yet dense with the many people you'll come across. If you don't give it at chance, then you'll hate it here. Also, when you get here, don't just sit in your dorm room and let life pass you by. Go join a club or attend a campus event! It'll make things SO MUCH more interesting and fun for you, I promise!

    In three sentences

This school is the hidden gem of the state of New Jersey. Stockton is not only extremely affordable as a state school; but it creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere for anyone who attends or visits. Most people don't know about us because of how young the school is, however, that's all changing very fast.

    Campus Safety

Campus safety is something this school really excels in! They have emergency phones stationed all over campus, signaled by a blue light, along with constant campus police patrols along with the neighborhood watch program, who will escort you to and from class at night if your afraid of walking alone.

    Greek Life

The greek life at the school is mediocre. All the fraternities host get to gathers at least once a week, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet all the brothers of each different one. The only major downside to the frats at stockton to me is the fact that they are all off campus locations. However most aren't more than 10mins.

    Clubs and Activities

Stockton literally has every kind of club you can think of and if by some chance they don't, alls you need is 10 people and you can start one of your own. They have everything ranging from neighborhood watch to a club that consists of people who eat bugs.

    What to do for fun

Stockton entertainment team hosts events at least once a week to get students up and out of their dorms to mingle with one another and have some fun. Some of these activities are Bingo, Who's line, Karaoke, and much more. If thats not your cup of tea, than they have a game room in the main campus building containing pool tables, ping pong, shuffle board, foosball, along with many board games. If thats not your type an you are more of the athletic type there are usually always people outside playing football or frisbee amongst other things.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining at the school is alright. Currently in the food court there is a Johnny Rockets, Chic-fila, Passport (international cuisine), Mondo's, Primo's Pizza, and a place called Homestyle (reminds me of a better Boston market). Other than that there is a cafeteria set up buffet style. The food there is usually very good, especially if your trying to eat healthier.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is mediocre at this college. I know this is something I've heard about this school when i applied as well, however don't let that affect your decision of attending this school. During the warm weather its not too bad, theres a volleyball net in the middle of the quad, which is where a lot of students get involved with some pickup games. During the cold months however its a little more on the quite side, most people go home on the weekends and theres not a whole lot todo. Mostly everyone on my floor hung out in the common room every night, either watching movies, playing card/board games, or video games.

    Academic Rigor

I thought classes weren't extreamly hard, as long as you stay focused and complete all assigned work and readings you will be fine.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to look up all of there scholarships. Stockton offers so many to incomming students scholarships for so much, all you need do is look! I'm more than certain there is one for you.

    In three sentences

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is Great for anyone considering a liberal arts school. Class sizes are on average no larger than 25 maybe 30 at most. Professors at this institution are always willing to help students in the right direction, most that i had this semester would stay after and help students who had questions on that days lecture.

Actual Police on campus, not many issues with arise, will notify you if anything is happening/reoccurring.

Great for these types of students

Students who want a smaller more personal college experience, few class sizes are over 35, you will see a bunch of people you know walking to class everyday.

    Bang for the buck

Very reasonable prices for the tuition, it is also easy to graduate early and save money due to the Flat-Rate tuition policy. They offer MANY scholarships, and I am on one as an out of state resident, which makes it close to in state tuition.

    What to do for fun

It is a college, so you have your frat/house parties... Besides that, it is a beautiful campus with so many facilities at you use, the occasional trips to Philly, and the beach when it is warm. You find things to do on/off campus.

    Food and Dining

Food is decent for the first month with a meal plan, but it is all down hill after that. Nwing (The Dining Hall) is god awful, I just resorted to eating cereal for dinner near the end of the semester. Campus Center Food Court is okay, however Primo's is the only place opened on weekends. I ate so much dry, cold pizza there, I do not know how I still eat pizza.

    Dorm Life

Freshman dorms are okay, you meet a lot of people how they are set up. Upperclassman Apartments are much better, I am in the Housing I Courts, (which are the oldest ones) and it is pretty nice. Laundry is obnoxious...

    Academic Rigor

The school work is very manageable at Stockton College, I currently have a 4.0 GPA (second semester sophomore) but I am in the library/studying a lot to accomplish that, it really matters what kind of classes you take. For example, Hospitality Classes are a breeze compared to Accounting classes (just what I know from switching). I have friends who are in the sciences who have a lot harder time.

    Tips for prospective students

Just drive down the parkway/expressway (very easy drive) and check it out. The Campus is beautiful in its own way. People I know either love the campus or find it pretty terrible. Also, just apply in any major/I would advise to go in Undecided, unless you REALLY want to major in that, I went in as a Hospitality Student (Great Program at Stockton), however I realized it is not really for me, and I switched it accounting the end of my freshman year. (Not a bad program, a few bad professors). I lost 12 credits for this switch, but due to the policy that you can take up to 21 credits for the same amount of money as the regular (16), I'm almost caught up.

    In three sentences

Stockton College is a very distinctive school that is improving every year. Great professors (for the most part), and the administration is pretty decent. It is in a decent area geographically (hour from Philly, 15 minutes to the beach, right off of the parkway), however the town of Galloway serves as a pretty mediocre college town (It is improving).

Just have a good attitude, join stuff, make friends and go to the parties (if you're up for them), there's a volleyball net with sand and the area is great. AC casinos, beach, boardwalk, shopping, convenience stores are nearby. Stockton is not situated in a secluded area of NJ.

    Food and Dining

Food is really salty, and not that good in the cafeteria. The buffet is amazing, though, and for $7. Also, for every 5 times you eat at the buffet, you get a free one-time pass. The cafes and little food shops are overpriced, but the food is good.

    Dorm Life

I commute but the dorms look nice and they're not far from the classes. Room size is the average dorm size and they're pretty big on keeping a friendly environment.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes don't give much damn about teaching you and you learning and some are misleading with their class description and what you actually learn and do. Most of the time, I felt like I wasted my time and money.

    Tips for prospective students

Go to a college with a bigger name, unless you want a mediocre college that's very affordable.

    In three sentences

It's alright, but I am not satisfied. It's not big enough for me, and I commute, so I feel it's a bit boring. I hate how few their class choices are and their website sucks, signing up for classes is a pain.

If you are over 21 Atlantic City is twenty minutes away. On campus you'll meet many friendly people with a lot of clubs and sports to join there's always something to do. Outside Lake Fred can be canoed on or walked around with the pretty bike paths.

    Food and Dining

They have chic fil a, a pizza place, Johnny rockets, and dunkin donuts to name a few. I wish they had healthier options. When I had an apartment I ended up mostly cooking my own food because I got tired of the greasy food.

    Dorm Life

A lot of money to live there. It's definitely cheaper to rent a shore house with your friends. The newer apartments are nice.

    Academic Rigor

Depends on the professor there are always going to be tough classes but for the most part the professors know how much work we do and how some work a job and commute. Very understanding and willing to help.

    Tips for prospective students

Really get to know your professors, you never know which professor will ask you to help write a book or help you find a job.

    In three sentences

I met the best professors at Stockton, if you are hard working they really take you under their wing and do everything in their power to help you. Stockton in in a beautiful setting, you can enjoy walking around the lake or canoeing on the lake. The classes are challenging and rewarding, a lot of the classes have really impacted me and the way I live now.

    What to do for fun

If you're living on campus, nothing really. They never have things going on and if they do, they don't inform you. Everyone goes home on the weekends. A guy made an app called StoCo to download which has all the events going on which is cool. Living off campus is the best bet.

    Tips for prospective students

Look for another school. There are many other state schools with cheap tuition that are far less rude and idiotic.

    In three sentences

Has the most unprofessional and incompetent staff that I have ever had to deal with. I had to go through a medical withdrawal, and they made that process difficult by not even having me on as one! With that, my financial aid and scholarship was all messed up and even though I would only be a year away from finishing school, I am transferring. They have NO assistance for disabled students. The man running it is nice, but besides that, he hands you a paper to give to your professors and that's it. My time here was wasted.

    What to do for fun

Join a club, visit Lake Fred.

    Food and Dining

    Limited variety, but good food.

    Dorm Life

I do not live on campus, so I am not sure.

    Academic Rigor

So far, my classes have not been too difficult.

    In three sentences

Stockton College is a great choice for higher education. However, they tend to cater to on-campus housing students rather than commuters. Overall though, great experience and great faculty.

    Clubs and Activities

I heard of a lot and enrolled in a couple but have not had the time to check them out.

Great for these types of students

School spirited (kinda) just mostly the basketball games (which are always fun)

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There is this lake that seems pretty nice with sand and all but I have only had the chance to go once.

    What to do for fun

Join clubs, a sorority, fraternity, or join a sport. If you work and go to school full-time (like myself) it is nearly impossible but just make good friends with people in your hall and you'll end up meeting more people.

    Food and Dining

Same options all the time, but pretty tasty...sometimes.

    Dorm Life

Nothing like home, but it has to be done.

    Academic Rigor

It's mostly a lot of reading, A LOT of reading.

    Tips for prospective students

Study, study, study! College is not like in the movies (well it can be if you would rather socialize than get ahead).

    In three sentences

Professors challenge you intellectually. There has to be something done about parking, it is ridiculous! There should be someone or something that helps students, one on one, who are in need of financial support in order to achieve their dream and get a degree.

dorms for freshmen are tiny, but that's not much news

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Too many students, not enough parking

    What to do for fun

Play basketball, gym, hit they heavy bag, jiu-jitsu classes, etc.

    Food and Dining

Most of the food choices they aren't the greatest and healthiest selections.

    Dorm Life

I never lived on campus here. Save your money and live at if you commute.

    Academic Rigor

Only offer certain courses at certain times of the year.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you know what you want to pursue as a career. Know which professors to take certain classes with so you don't have to re-take those courses. As I said before, this is a liberal arts institution, so be prepared to take those general/at some distant courses that don't pertain to your degree.

    In three sentences

Overall, I'd give it a 7. It's a liberal arts college with lack of faculty in certain Math and Physics departments. This is the reason why it's taking me an extra two years to graduate.
