Categories Comments Great for these types of students Be heart-felt when writing your essay, colleges love when students are honest.
Tips for prospective students Keep taking the ACT until you get to about a 28-30. Also, be sure to take the writing ACT or the SAT.
Bang for the buck The best education demands the most money.
Will enjoy being here There are tons of fun things to do, even if you're not into clubs. They have broom-stick hockey!
Will learn a lot Findlay is a small liberal arts college and specializes in only a few majors.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Equestrian and Pre-vet majors are very strong programs. Students looking into a pharmacy program as well.
Tips for prospective students Study hard in high school and do the ACTs and/or SATs. Make sure you are ready to be in college. Check into the size of school you want. Findlay is a small private school.
Bang for the buck Tuition is expensive but if you want the best education....you got to be willing to pay.
Am enjoying being here There are TONS of clubs to be apart of and there is always something to do on campus. There are intramural sports you and friends can be apart of...there's broom hockey, soccer, football, volleyball, and a bunch more I can't think of right now.
Am learning a lot The classes are really small for the most part. I am a Pre-vet student, it's a popular major here so the classes get filled up quickly and are really full. They almost always open up another class to choose. The professors care about the students and usually have one-on-one sessions to help the students out to make sure they're getting the most out of their classes. The professors are passionate about their subjects and really know what they are talking about.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Prospective pre-vet students, pharmacy students, and equestrian students will be treated to the amazing and strong programs the University of Findlay has going.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to get a high GPA in high school and do well on the ACT and SAT. Be prepared for some intense learning and a lot of studying. But also be prepared for such a fun atmosphere and an all around awesome school!
Bang for the buck You get what you pay for here. The tuition is high because it is a private school. But with that tuition comes some of the best learning you will receive from any school around.
Am enjoying being here I feel so welcome in the small, school atmosphere. With only around 5000 students total, you get a nice close to home feel. The people here are so friendly and you almost don't miss home at all!
Am learning a lot The professors want you to learn all that you can. They are always helpful and provide a lot of help for you when you need it. The classes are challenging which makes learning the more fun. The programs this school has are top notch.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students People who really like having a connection with their teacher, and feel it is necessary to succeed in school. Also people who aren't afraid to be friendly. Since Findlay is a small school, you tend to know almost everyone here!
Tips for prospective students Make sure that Findlay has a major you're interested in because there aren't a vast amount of different majors here!
Bang for the buck Since Findlay is a private school, it will be more expensive than most schools. Although, what most people don't realize when seeing such a big number is that there are copious amounts of scholarships awarded to almost everyone on the campus.
Am enjoying being here The environment and atmosphere is so student friendly. Findlay is a definite college town which makes being here so much more enjoyable. There are always campus events going on which makes for a fun time!
Am learning a lot The University of Findlay has very specialized majors with professors that know exactly how to teach these different focuses. The class sizes are relatively small which means that as a student, you can get to know your professor more intimately and really get some one-on-one help when needed.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Horse/Animal Lovers. Their basketball team is pretty good too. It is also a good school for students who want to start off in a small university and not be overwhelmed by the vastness of a big time University.
Tips for prospective students Visit campus and talk to students on the University. Ask as many questions as you can and if you feel like Findlay is the place for you, apply for as many scholarships as you can.
Bang for the buck It is really expensive. However, it is worth it to me for the equestrian program but if I wasn't majoring in Western Equestrian Studies or Animal Sciences I would not choose this school simply because its cost is too high for me and my family.
Am enjoying being here I am in the Equestrian program and I love it. If you love horses or animals, this school is the one for you. The equestrian program is one of the best. I am in the Western Equestrian program and we ride everyday. The professors at the barn are some of the best and even in the hall of fame. You develop good friendships and interact with people who share your passion.
Am learning a lot For the most part, the teachers here will help you in any way you need. However, there are some who make you question taking their class. Nonetheless, every school has a teacher like that and overall Findlay does a good job in their professor selection. Most teachers here are enthusiastic about their jobs and are concerned about helping their students.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Farm-raised kids, students who don't want to go to a huge university, students who want a personalized education.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to visit campus, it really sells you on if you want to attend or not!
Bang for the buck Although the tuition cost is somewhat high, I think it'll be worth the expense. They offer a lot of things to do for free it seems. Everyone is always willing to help, so you won't have to pay to go tutor somewhere else.
Will enjoy being here There are a lot of things to do related to horses and animals in general, and I love animals so I'll be joining quite a few of these clubs. The town is smaller, but still has everything you need without needing to go to a bigger city.
Will learn a lot The classes I signed up for interest me a lot, so I know I'll pay attention in class and learn. The professors seemed really friendly, down to earth, and honest about what they told you. They didn't sugar-coat things at all.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Shy students who want to thoroughly know their future field of work.
Tips for prospective students Really consider the size of school you want to attend.
Am enjoying being here There is not a wide variety of on-campus activities. In addition, the student body size is extremely small. Everyone knows everyone which gets to be annoying.
Am learning a lot The class sizes are small allowing for the professor's full attention.

Am enjoying being here I do enjoy being at Findlay. A lot of activities to do and organizations to join.
Am learning a lot the classes are small from 10-30 the most in lectures. very good at teacher to student basis

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Shy, quiet students who want to broaden their self-esteem.
Tips for prospective students The University of Findlay is big enough that you will make plenty of friends and will never be bored, yet is small enough that you're not just another face in the crowd.
Bang for the buck Like everyone said, UF is expensive! But with an excellent staff and plenty of activities, the pay is well worth the great education I'll be getting.
Will enjoy being here It sounds like there is SO much to do! I plan on being involved in a lot of the intramurral sports and possibly a few of the clubs.
Will learn a lot When I visited UF, the professors seemed very interested in wanting to teach you everything they possibly could. They also seem willing to help you one-on-one if you need it. The classrooms are the perfect size and you don't feel like just another number.

In three sentences it is a great university i really like the physical therapy program that it offers. the tuition is a little high but that is to be expected from a private institution. i love that its a smaller campus and i know most people within my year and major.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus is equipped with blue call towers if for whatever reason you feel threatened or need help with anything including your car or an injury. they go out extremely early on snowy days and do an amazing job clearing the snow and laying down salt.
Greek Life there is a multitude of greek life organizations both social and professional.
Clubs and Activities findlay offers over one hundred organizations to be involved in. it is extremely easy to get involved and leadership opportunities are everywhere.
Great for these types of students hands-on learners and those willing to get involved and make friends will do the best at this institution.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the university of findlay has an arch that is only to be passed through on the first day of freshman year and on graduation day. if you go under the arch at any other time you will either not graduate or not graduate in your major. there are also red dots on campus in the sidewalks. if you step on one of these, you will fail a test. to compensate for this, the shaffer library has a globe on the 2nd floor. you rub findlay, ohio for good luck. the globe is actually indented and findlay rubbed off from so many people rubbing it.
Bang for the buck findlay offers my ideal college experience. there is a plethora of things to do on and off campus. everyone is friendly and willing to make new friends. the classes offer plenty of diversity and each teacher adds their own flair to the class.
What to do for fun findlay offers lots of things to do. there are theaters, stores, restaurants, etc. on campus, there are events going on all of the time. headlining groups are often brought in and several organizations on campus offer several diverse activities. you should never get bored.
Food and Dining for the most part, there are lots of different options. the food is good and the dining hall tries to add in advice from students occasionally through surveys.
Dorm Life dorms are awesome. you can make lots of friends and meet new people every day.
Academic Rigor classes can be easy or can be challenging. a lot depends on the teacher, the course, and your efforts and input.
Tips for prospective students tips for prospective students are the same at any institution. you should talk to different people, be open-minded, always ask questions and go see your teachers. it's okay to form relationships and get involved on campus. you can get yourself out there and network with all kinds of people.
In three sentences i love the university of findlay because of the small campus atmosphere. teachers and staff are always willing to talk to and help you with whatever you may need. classes are exciting and fun because the small class sizes allow for hands-on interaction and extra teacher attention.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus security is always around.
Clubs and Activities so many clubs, i don't even know them all.
Great for these types of students ones who do well under pressure. you are able to take up to 18 credit hours, so if you like work this is the place for you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the main gate. it's tradition to only walk under it twice. towards old main as a freshman and away from it for graduation. otherwise the suspicion is that you won't graduate.
Bang for the buck it's a lot, and you have to be involved in a lot to feel like you are getting your bang.
What to do for fun they have a lot of on campus activities, like dances, speakers, bbqs.
Food and Dining lots of selection, but it rotates and you get tired of it fast. the best thing is the bonus bucks that you can spend at several resturants around campus, like pizza and sub places.
Dorm Life some dorms are nice, some not so much. but all ra's in the buildings plan something twice a month to bring residents together, so you really get to know your dormmates.
Academic Rigor the upper-level classes are more on your own. they give you a sylabus at the beginning of the year, and expect you to remember. the lower level classes have more busy work.
Tips for prospective students know what you are going for, and make sure they are the best in that field and they feel right.
In three sentences a very large but close campus. a great equine program. not a bad cafeteria.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are campus security buttons placed all around campus. There is at least 2 campus security officers wondering the campus at all time. The University of Findlay's campus always feels secure at all times.
Clubs and Activities There are hundreds of activities to join within any interest that you have.
Bang for the buck The University of Findlay is a great college but is very expensive. The University of Findlay is also a private school and college students do not get the full college experience for the money that we pay.
Food and Dining The Dining halls hours are not long and fit around many peoples schedules. The variety of food at the dining hall is very little.
Dorm Life Dorms are spacious and are very local to the campus. Several events are planned through the semester to keep students entertained.
Academic Rigor The University of Findlay academic program is one of the best you can receive. The professors care for your future and go great lengths to help you individually, you are not just a number such as at large schools.
Tips for prospective students The University of Findlay is a great college for academics. If you are willing to put in the work to be at the University of Findlay, they will provide you with one of the best educations you can receive.
In three sentences Attending the University of Findlay for two full years, I have learned more than many would in a four year college career. At the University of Findlay, we are not just a number. The president and staff actually cares for the students and attends to our greatest needs.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is a huge part of the campus, they do not fail at securing and maintaining the welfare of the students in the campus.
Greek Life Greek life is close knit every fraternity is like a family and they all welcome new people, I am apart of greek life and I enjoy every moment of it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Stepping on red squares that are scattered around campus believes to be a bad omen and you will be at risk of failing an up coming test. There is an arch that you walk under you're first day attending the university of Findlay, and you must not walk under it till you graduate.
Bang for the buck Three words pricey, pricey and pricey
What to do for fun There isn't much to do around the town except the bowling alley and a local night club.
Food and Dining Food and Dining here is okay, It's the smae thing day after day and a bit repetitive, the food is good none the less but lacks variety
Dorm Life The Dorm life is amazing, I became friends with alot of the males living on my floor and we were close with the RA. The RA try to intermingle with the residents and try to make living in the dorm as pleasurable as possible.
Academic Rigor The Academic Rigor is intense in the college but at the same time they are able to get one on one with students and help indivuals gget through tough situations.
Tips for prospective students I advise you to attend if you like a medium sized campus in a small town scene, If not you may need some time to adjust.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Located in the middle of campus. 24/7. blue lights scattered around campus as well.
Greek Life 2 fraternities and 2 sororities. Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Kappa, Theta Chi, and Alpha Sigma Phi.
Clubs and Activities 70+ clubs. Basically one for everything. Also easy to start your own!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus As a freshman, you walk on the outside of campus and then you walk in through the arch. Professors and alumni line the sidewalks and welcome you to the campus and then you walk around Old Main and there is a huge picnic that takes place through the middle of campus. Then when you graduate you do the opposite and walk one last time through campus with your graduating class and then out of the arch and into the world. With that tradition, we do have a superstition, and that is that you can't walk back under the arch within those two times or you won't graduate from Findlay. Another superstition on campus concerns the big red dots located outside of Fox Hall. With those it is said that if you step on them before an exam, you will fail that test.
Bang for the buck I think for as much as tuition is, more could be offered.
What to do for fun Well, I'm from the city so compared to back home there isn't as much in my case. But I know plenty of people that come from smaller towns and find Findlay to be very entertaining. There's plenty of on campus activities planned throughout the year. Also, there is a bowling alley, ice ring, movie theater, and a dance club (Yukatan) that many people go to for fun. There's also parks around town as well if that fits your fancy.
Food and Dining It's better than most but if you always eat in the dining hall, it can get repetitive and tiring. Bonus bucks are a great help too since you can go elsewhere and eat.
Dorm Life Some of the dorms are much better than others. Definitely look at all of the options before deciding which one you want.
Tips for prospective students Look into a lot of scholarships and grants; being a private university, it is pretty pricey.
In three sentences I love the hands-on learning at UF. All of the professors are helpful and most will go out of their way to help you when you need it. Everyone also makes you feel like an individual instead of just another number.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus security is incredible. They are extremely reliable and trustworthy. They monitor campus successfully and have the best interest of all students in mind.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for everybody with any interest or major. And if a student has a special interest that does not yet have a club, they can request to establish a club themselves and start one on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus has an arch at the very front of campus. As a freshman, you enter the arch from the outside and walk onto campus. It is believed that if you go under the arch anytime before graduation you will not graduate.
Bang for the buck Although the University of Findlay is expensive, the educational programs provided at the university are highly credible and therefore makes tuition more reasonable. The University of Findlay provides special degrees and educational programs, such as equestrian and physical therapy, that can allow for a high tuition because the programs are so rare and at UF the programs are very respected. Fortunately, UF also gives gracious scholarships to students every year to help with tuition costs.
What to do for fun Student Rec Center, Intramural Sports, Club meetings/events, Sorority meetings/events, Worship Services, Theater events, bowling, movie theater, skating.
Food and Dining At Henderson Dining hall there is a great variety of food options for everyone. The food is fresh daily and is served by cheerful, friendly employees. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean and most importantly the food is satisfactory.
Dorm Life Dorm life gives students an opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friends. At the University of Findlay, the dorms were not only pleasant to live in because of the friendships that you can make, but the furniture in each room is nice and the buildings are kept clean everyday which is very much appreciated.
Academic Rigor Each professor is highly experienced and knowledgeable in their subject and most importantly they are available to help students and are willing to help. Each professor is flexible and understanding when it comes to academic performance/attendance, etc. Their goal is to successfully teach every student and teach in such a way that each student is capable of succeeding.
Tips for prospective students Consider every opportunity on campus. Do not hesitate to get involved, make new friends, and strive to be an active student on campus and in the classroom. Put your best effort forth everyday, academically, physically, and relationally.
In three sentences The University of Findlay is an incredible school that offers programs, classes, clubs, and activities for every individual. The campus is beautiful, safe, and accessible. Each graduate is garaunteed to have incredible experience, skills, and knowledge in their field.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Sounds like there are a lot of clubs and activities to participate in.
Food and Dining Got to eat in the main cafeteria, and it was AWESOME. There were all different places to get all types of food. The stir-fry was the best I have ever had.
Dorm Life The dorms look so comfy, especially the freshman dorms. You can put so much stuff in them and still have plenty of room.
Academic Rigor Sat in on a class there, looked easy enough. But I'm sure it was an intro class I saw.
In three sentences The campus looks amazing, the students are friendly. University of Findlay is definitely my top choice.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck This is an expensive school. I would not go there for an undecided major.
Food and Dining The food could be better. There is only one dining hall, so it gets old having the same food over and over. However, Bonus Bucks are helpful for getting pizza and spending otherwise.
Dorm Life After just finishing my freshman year at The University of Findlay, I can say that my dorm experience was amazing. I made my closest and best friends in my dorm. My roommate became my best friend!
Academic Rigor I am majoring in Nuclear Medicine Technology. I had a brain tumor when I was twelve, so I feel like I was led to this major. The University of Findlay will help me reach my goal of working with people like me.
In three sentences I love being at the University of Findlay. I feel like I fit in with my group of friends. The education I am receiving is also much more than I would have expected anywhere else.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This is the one thing that is excellent about Findlay. It is so small that everyone knows each other or has been in class with each other so not alot of arrests or danger from the surrounding community. You still need to travel and groups for the girls or small guys just to be safe. If you are a large individual nobody is going to mess with you. No real crime rate or robberies around the university or in the town for that manner the police are very good at patrolling the city streets and keeping everybody safe. Even so if you are going to college you need to pay attention and realize when a situation is not safe.
Greek Life Almost non existant, not like the big schools, no crazy parties or anything like that. Maybe three total on campus and not very big. I don't really know anybody in the greek life so not a lot i can share.
Clubs and Activities There are some clubs but they are not big deals like at larger universitys, our fraternities sororities I think we only have three or four total. The activities though are limitless, if you just put out some effort you can do so many things on campus and always have fun.
Great for these types of students Great for kids that don't need to party all the time, more small town folks that are used to smaller crowds. Great for anybody who likes one on one action with the professor more like a high school than it is a university, some teachers though are difficult to work with but i feel like you have that at any university.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have two unusual traditions. The number one big guy is after you walk thru the arch at freshman induction dont walk back under it until you graduate because anyone who has done so has never finished their college career at this University and I mean nobody has. This is completely true, I have seen it with my own two eyes. The other is that if you walk thru any of these four reds circles by the oil rig fountain on campus the next test or quiz you take you will do poorly on it.
Bang for the buck It could be better but for my career path and what i want to do with my life this college works out well. Excellent in terms of the program and campus is beautiful as well as living space is really nice here. The food and working with the staff of the school is not quality but both can be worked around.
What to do for fun The school itself has a beautiful workout area and indoor basketball facilities as well as intramural fields. The school has many events that are small but quite entertaing. In the city itself there is one or two movie theatres, a mall, parks, golf course just outside of town, driving range, of course house parties. The two clubs have thursday nght college night and if you are 21 or older there are some really nice bars on main street.
Food and Dining One star would have been my high school lunchroom, this place has more choices and every once in a while has really good food but most of the time the food and ingredients really do suck.
Dorm Life This could be anywhere from four to two stars here. I feel it has the right amount of studying, fun and social interaction. Some of my hall mates have said not enough partying for them or its too loud here. its all about your perspective here and what you choose to do with your time.
Academic Rigor Decently tough but it is not Stanford or Harvard.
Tips for prospective students Make sure it really is worth the price tag. My major and career I am working on is what I love doing and lucrative so paying loans off will be manageable for me. Make sure you are ready for the debt you take on.
In three sentences Over priced for the food and faculty cooperation. Hard to get questions answered by people who work desk jobs. Great for my major not so for very many others.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is always riding around on bicycles or golf carts. There are blue light phones everywhere on campus and if you feel there is an area that needs one all you have to do is request one. Most of campus is very well light.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Incoming students walk through into the arch out in front of Old Main the first weekend they are here and outgoing graduate students walk out of the arch after graduating. You are not to walk through the arch any other time or it is said you will fail out of school. There are red brick circles randomly throughout campus and it is said if you step on one you will fail your next test.
What to do for fun There is one bowling alley off campus that every now will have a free bowling night. There is a movie theater in Findlay. Try to keep an eye out for campus events because they usually are entertaining.
Food and Dining Although not terrible, there is definitely room for improvement. There is only one dining hall on campus so if they don't have something you like you don't have much of an option. The highlight of each month though is steak night.
Dorm Life Being a small campus where you dorm will greatly affect your experience. Both years at Findlay so far I have lived in the all girls building. I have had few problems with anyone. Most people are considerate. All you have to watch out for is the cleaning ladies, they tend to like to talk and talk and talk.
Academic Rigor How hard your classes are will depend on your major. As a Pharmacy major myself almost all of my classes are hard. The Equestrian majors have a hard major more in the fact of the physical work they have to put into their barn work. However, there are also majors like Art and English that sure have to spend a bit of time on their work, do not have what I consider to be a hard course load.
Tips for prospective students Do not buy books from the campus bookstore. Make sure to tour the campus because if you are looking for somewhere big with a lot of variety, Findlay is not the place for you. Don't worry about getting lost on campus, all you have to do is ask someone around you. Everyone is super nice and you shouldn't have a hard time making friends.
In three sentences The University of Findlay has everything you could want out of the college experience with the advantage of a small town. We have every kind of major from Equestrian to Pharmacy to Theater. Although it has it's downfalls I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are cameras in the dorms and throughout the buildings on campus. Many blue light safety poles are placed in various locations as well. Security Officers travel by vehicle, golf carts, bikes, and by foot. Dorms are locked for the safety of residents.
Greek Life There are two sororities and two fraternities on UF Campus. They are actively involved in community service and in campus activities. The bonds made between sisters and brothers is a special one and last for years and years.
Clubs and Activities There are so many activities on campus, from Casino Night to Black Tie Affair you will have more than one activity you will find yourself looking forward to the next year. The clubs offered at UF are student ran and can be a professional setting or relaxed, if you can't find the club you want to be in you are always encouraged to start a new one!
Great for these types of students Students who want a professional professor-student relationship should definitely attend UF. With small classes, professors will actually know your name. There are many international students on campus as well, which is my favorite part of UF. Learning outside of the classroom happens when you make international friends. There are many opportunities to be involved on campus and you are more well known on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus At your first orientation you walk through the Arch in front of the oldest building on campus, Old Main. The only time you are to walk through the arch is after graduating...if you walk through it again before graduating, you will flunk out!
Bang for the buck While many are discouraged when they first see the cost of living at UF there are so many benefits. There is a lot of financial aid and scholarships offered for students. Almost every major at UF offers first hand experience within the first year of studies!
What to do for fun There is a club or campus activity almost every night. UF is a dry campus, which means no alcohol for anyone. There is a lot of 'night life' in Findlay with the bars and clubs though. There is a new recreation center on campus open until the late evening and the student union is open 24/7 for you and your friends to study or hang out.
Food and Dining Henderson Dining Hall is the only dining hall in which meal swipes can be used, but it is buffet and has many options. From my years at UF I think the food gets better each year. There is also the Cave in the student union which has a cafe and grill available during select hours.
Dorm Life I love the way the dorms are set up on UF campus. There are traditional residence halls, school apartments, and actual group houses. There are no co-ed floors, but there are co-ed buildings. As well as female-only dorms. Each living space provides a different experience so I definitely recommend checking out more than one of these living spaces while at UF.
Academic Rigor The class sizes are small at UF so you will have the opportunity to really get involved in in-class discussion; it makes it difficult to slack off in class, which is a good thing. Most professors take attendance, because they want you to pass the course. You are more than a number at the University of Findlay.
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a lot of interaction with students and faculty members. To be a complete hermit at UF is difficult to do. Be willing to get involved on campus and in the community, it is a completely awesome experience.
In three sentences The University of Findlay provides students with professional experiences from the very moment they enter the school. It has a small, unique, campus that blends in with the community. Interacting with a variety of students is fun and common at the University of Findlay.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is pretty safe, if there's ever a problem they have these blue poles that have a 911 button and a button for the security service on campus.
Greek Life There are a few Greek houses. It's not my thing though.
Clubs and Activities There are TONS of different groups to be a part of. I'm excited to check them out.
What to do for fun There's a bunch of things on campus to do. There's also a mall and movie theater like 10-15 minutes from campus.
Food and Dining The Henderson dining hall has a good assortment of food. My favorite station in it is the wrap station. They make the BEST wraps ever.
Dorm Life Dorm rooms are fairly small, storage and orginization is key! Keep everything clean and simple.
Academic Rigor Heard that the academics are somewhat of a challenge sometimes but all the teachers are willing to work one-on-one with you. Plus there are numerous tutor services on campus!!
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a lot of work and learn good study and organizational skills!!
In three sentences Such a beautiful campus, it feels just like home. I'd definitely tell other peopl to go here if they want that aspect. The atmosphere is great, everybody is social and caring, especially their staff.

Categories Comments What to do for fun tons of intramural sports. Free swimming hours at the pool. pool and ping pong tables in residents halls. campus activities planned most weekends
Food and Dining dinning hall has 3 meals a day with at least 3 options for your main course. also includes a dessert and salad bar.

In three sentences This university is very personal. You are not just a number thrown into the computer and expected to fend for yourself. It is a very close knit school with lots of community support.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Security works 24/7. There are also emergency poles everywhere on campus. If you are standing at one emergency pole you can see at least two more. You can call the security for an escort back to your dorm or house at night if you need it.
Greek Life There are only four Greek houses on campus. This school does not have a big Greek Life but they do host a number of activities and help create that same bond you would get anywhere else.
Clubs and Activities This university has many clubs to participate in. There are a lot of activities done by these clubs throughout the year and plenty of opportunities through these clubs. The clubs are a great way to get involved and make new friends and meet the faculty and upperclassmen.
Great for these types of students The University of Findlay is great for students who come from smaller cities or towns. It is not overwhelmingly big. It is also a great place for future equestrian and pre-verterinary majors. The equestrian program is nationally known and the pre-veterinary medicine program has a 66% placement into veterinary school and has had students accepted to all 28 veterinary schools.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus When you come to orientation weekend, incoming freshmen do the arch ceremony. This is where all of the new students walk under the arch in front of the school. The next time that student will walk under that arch is when they graduate. It has been said that if a student walks under the arch before they graduate they will never graduate. There are also these red circles by the fountain. It has been said that if you walk through those circles you will fail your next big exam.
Bang for the buck At The University of Findlay, professors know your name and are willing to help you succeed in the classroom and out. Numerous scholarships are given out and many opportunities are available. Findlay is a great place to stay focused on your studies but also have the fun college experience.
What to do for fun The University of Findlay has numerous clubs you can become a member of. Most clubs are major specific, but there are others that are there based on interest. The University of Findlay has one of the only Collegiate FFA programs in Ohio. There are always events going on campus and the FRC has a rock climbing wall as well as a work out facility and gaming consoles. Intramural sports are a great way to have fun and bond with your new friends.
Food and Dining Henderson Dining Hall has a lot of options for food like burgers, pizza, home cooking, and a wrap station. There are other options that you can get with your bonus bucks. The Cave and The Rig both have food you can get with bonus bucks.
Dorm Life The dorm life is great. The Resident Assistants and Resident Directors plan events at least every month and you create a small family as a floor or house. There is a curfew at midnight from Sunday to Thursday and two in the morning from Friday to Saturday where men cannot be on the women's floor and women cannot be on the men's floor. There are twenty-four hour lobbies on every floor and in every house.
Academic Rigor The University of Findlay has one of the best chemistry programs. There is also a tutoring center and academic support center that can help you with anything you may need to make your academic standing better. Findlay students come out of college ready for the real world and have great success
Tips for prospective students Buying text book at the bookstore is a waste of money. Buy your text books on line or try renting them. Take advantage of all of the clubs and activities offered on campus. The professors and staff members are always more than willing to help as well as the upperclassmen. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
In three sentences The University of Findlay is a small private school with small class sizes. The campus is relatively small and gives you at home feeling. This school has outstanding animal science, pre-veterinary, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and equestrian studies programs.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is AWESOME they give you rides on the golf carts to class and they learn your names. So so helpful all the time and they are always out patrolling. They keep us safe, no call is trivial. If you feel unsafe they come immediately.
Great for these types of students Great for agricultural students or students used to rural life. It isn't city-ish and the people are down to earth. Great for people who need to create connections on campus and make a home away from home.
Bang for the buck Findlay is REALLY well known in many industries and the experience is sooo worth the money!
What to do for fun There are a couple of night clubs, bowling, movies, and a mall. The friendly people make up for the quietness of the town's nightlife. Everything is fun with fun people.
Food and Dining The food isn't home cooked, but there are lots of options with the deli, flash in the pan, hometown, grill, and salad bar. Very good about offering vegetarian options.
Dorm Life The dorms are quaint and the RAs always plan alot of fun activities.
Academic Rigor The classes are hard, but since the class size is small it makes up for it.
Tips for prospective students Don't come if you have a problem with agriculture, people wear their boots to class and alot of the people are either horse or cow people.
In three sentences The class size is small, and the professors are knowledgable. The campus and surrounding community are safe and easy to get around. Everyone is really really friendly and close on campus, it is a family.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety in Findlay is generally a non-issue. Aside from the very rare car collision, there isn't much to worry about in concern to campus safety.
Clubs and Activities Short and simple, Findlay has a great variety of clubs and activities, with no shortage of volunteering and on-campus activities that benefit everyone.
Great for these types of students Equestrian majors, pharmacy majors, PT majors are the most popular majors, and thus fit these types of students, but UF is versatile enough to provide content for any student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus is host to a couple of strange traditions, such as the superstition of walking through the front arch in front of the Old Main building; they say if you walk through it before your senior year, you won't graduate. Some of the dorms also have strange patterns where students may tell you to avoid.
Bang for the buck The tuition alone is steep, but accounting for dorms, food and other expenses, the bill might seem absurd. Thankfully, financial aid is always readily available in some way, from loans to scholarships, the latter of which the UF staff always inform the students. Still, it's worth the precaution of getting scholarships and loans before attending the University of Findlay.
What to do for fun Just as in many other colleges and universities, the University of Findlay has Greek Life, specialty clubs like a writers' club, equestrian club, diversity groups, and so on. Also, UF has a recreation center that's free for students, allowing anyone to exercise for a little bit or just kick back with some games of basketball, ping-pong, etc.
Food and Dining The University of Findlay has a meal plan, but due to its rather high price tag, it may turn away some of the students, given the abundance of nearby restaurants within the radius of campus, access to cheaper food from both within and outside campus still makes UF a good place in which to eat.
Academic Rigor Aside from standard required classes for graduation, when you really explore the classes that fit your intended majors, you'll really get into the classes, as the lessons taught in UF are valuable both in your potential careers and in life.
Tips for prospective students 1. Don't go home after the first week of school. The semester gets better with time. 2. Explore campus and the nearby eateries and local shops. Findlay has more to offer to students than meets the eye.
In three sentences Expensive, but worth the price. Great student diversity. Challenging yet fair classes.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Pathways and parking lots are very well lit. Security is just a phone call away and is more than willing to give you a ride if you think you need one.
Greek Life There are two sororities and two fraternities.
Clubs and Activities There's a wide variety of clubs available, from Chemistry to FFA, and because Findlay's pretty small, there's usually quite a few opportunities for leadership positions.
Great for these types of students Someone that wants a closer knit community, smaller classes, etc. Findlay's pretty small compared to other colleges, especially state schools. I didn't want to go to a huge school. I used to be quite withdrawn and shy, and was worried that I'd get lost among all the other students. Findlay's great about that. The advisers for the pre-vet program are amazing, and make sure you know exactly what you need to do before applying to vet school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In front of the first building used when the school was a college, there's an archway that you walk through during the freshman welcome days. If you walk back through that arch before the graduation ceremony, it is said that you will not graduate.
Bang for the buck The tuition's pretty costly. The campus is beautiful, and the dorms are nice, but be prepared to apply for a LOT of scholarships or loans.
What to do for fun There's quite a few on campus events (which frequently include free t-shirts, sweatpants, etc). Recently, the rec center was modified and there's now a track, pool tables, ping-pong tables, a rock wall, video game consoles, and a racket ball court in addition to the cardio center and weight room. There's also quite a few restaurants, which occasionally have live music, and a couple clubs and bars.
Food and Dining More variety would be nice. The Cave has decent food, but is a little pricey, and Henderson varies. Sometimes the food's great, other times it's awful. Make sure to check what they're having before you actually use your card. Though it is nice that once you're in, you can stay however long you want and eat as much as you want.
Dorm Life The only thing I didn't like about the dorms was that there was no kitchen available for use. I love that there's the option to live in a house or townhouse and still remain on-campus. However, please note that you won't be able to live off campus until you have senior standing.
Academic Rigor In the pre-vet program, the academics are definitely tough once you get to sophomore year and up, particularly the higher level chemistry and biology courses.
Tips for prospective students Go to on campus events, join clubs, etc. Findlay's pretty small, so unless you go out and make friends
In three sentences I love attending Findlay; the people are great and the campus is beautiful. I feel that I'm getting an excellent education and that it's preparing me well for entrance into vet school. However, the price is certainly a bit prohibitive, though there are quite a few scholarships available.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This is a very safe campus, there are blue lights everywhere, and you always see security somewhere on campus. As a female I feel very safe on this campus walking alone around campus. If you would need security they are only a phone call way and respond very quickly to your needs!!
Greek Life They only offer a few Greek life opportunities.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities here, from clubs for your majors to clubs for fun and interests. Plus you can always find many volunteer opportunities to boost your resume !!
Great for these types of students They have Great health care programs from a Master's in Occupational Therapy, Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and Physician Assistant programs. Also they offer two different equestrian degrees both Western and English.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an Arch at the campus entrance that as a Freshman you will walk through marking your coming to college and the adventures you will be taking, and no one walks back through the Arch until their Graduation Day marking you going out into the world on our own.
Bang for the buck You may spend a little more coming here but you get the education and technology to match it. This University is updating their technology everyday as well as adding new majors and making sure the majors they offer are staying competitive with other Colleges and Universities.
What to do for fun Findlay has lots of sporting events through out the years to go enjoy or take part in, as well as many volunteer opportunities to help build your resume. Findlay has many local shops, a mall, ice skating, new workout facility, and much more...and it's less than 30 min from Bowling Green and Toledo where you can go to the zoo, concerts, lots of shopping and many restaurants as well.
Food and Dining There are many options for dining here for both on-campus and commuter students; from the normal cafeteria to wraps, fast food, bakery items, and coffee options. Plus there are plenty of restaurants around the campus for a nice change.
Academic Rigor The faculty have a high standards here, but they help you achieve your dreams and reach your full potential. They know when to give you that extra push to reach your dreams.
Tips for prospective students Come tour the campus and see all The University of Findlay has to offer you and I bet you fall in love with this campus!! Plus they offer a bunch of free services from tutoring, writing lab, and counseling services to all their students. So don't be afraid to use them because they work and again they are FREE!!!
In three sentences This is a Great University, with caring Faculty that go above and beyond to help their students reach their dreams and accomplish their goals towards obtaining their degrees. Plus it is a Beautiful campus with a lot to offer everyone and a variety of interests and majors. They also work very well with transfer students and make your transition as easy as possible.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe. I never had any problems going anywhere on campus. Whether it was 8pm or 2am that I was walking somewhere at.
Greek Life Greek life is good, but small. there are only 2 fraternities and 2 sororities on campus. However all of them are very nice and friendly.
Clubs and Activities There are alot of clubs and activities on campus. There is something for everyone
Bang for the buck I like Findlay I just don't feel like I get my moneys worth. For how much it costs to go to school there I don't know what the perks we get are.
What to do for fun There is bowling, a mall, movie theater, and clubs. On campus there are clubs you can join, sororities, fraternities.
Food and Dining The food is good when you first start but it gets old fast and you won't want to eat there. The only good nights are the themed ones or steak night.
Dorm Life I loved my first year in the dorms and all of the people in my hall as well as building. The dorms are nice, better if you have a bathroom like the Haven and village do.
Academic Rigor The classes range from easy to very difficult. It depends on the teacher and the class. English and general education courses are easier, where as the science courses are more challenging.
Tips for prospective students Learn what your professor is like and what they expect out of your for the class. This way you will do good in the class. Always study hard for exams.
In three sentences The classes, professors, and academic help you can get for school are excellent. However the food gets old fast, and by second semester you will not want it. I give Findlay a 7/10

Bang for the buck Yes, the $40,000 tuition is a little high but you get what you pay for!
What to do for fun Plenty of activities on campus. Outside campus, Walmart.
Food and Dining Food is all-you-care-to-eat but sometimes is that stereotypical cafeteria food. Sunday brunch is pretty decent though!
Dorm Life The rooms are average sized...freshman dorms do not have bathrooms in the rooms so you have to walk down the hall for that midnight bathroom break.
Academic Rigor Classes and professors are somewhat difficult but manageable

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Equestrian majors. Health Science majors, especially Occupational Therapy. Students who want smaller class sizes and more personal attention with and help from the professors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are large red dots on the pavement around the oiler rig fountain there and the tradition is that if you step on the dot you will fail your next exam.
Bang for the buck The campus is very nice and the class to teacher ratio in classes are great. However, some professors are not what I would necessarily consider worth all of the money I will have to pay. There are many many services available that come free as a students though so there are pros and cons.
What to do for fun There are many clubs and events going on, for almost every interest out there. Sports games are a great way to have fun and get a little socializing in while supporting the Oilers.
Food and Dining I have only eaten at two of the dining halls/restaurants. It was somewhat the same food at both places. It was not great, but it was good. My favorite is getting a deli sandwich or wrap at either place (Henderson Dining Hall and the Cave). The residential students are required to buy a meal plan if they live on campus, though, and it is very expensive, especially for the kids who do not eat much and still have the same price for the meal plan as the kids who eat a lot.
Dorm Life I am a commuter; therefore, I do not live in the dorms or on campus.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor increases gradually at a steady pace. I like that a lot.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to do your work. Don't procrastinate on your work. Study as much as you can. Don't be afraid to ask questions to the staff or upperclassmen. Be social and don't be afraid to make friends.
In three sentences UF is a welcoming, comfortable environment. The education is of high quality. The programs (e.g. equestrian, occupational therapy, etc.) are top-notch on a national level.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe. One could walk to somewhere on campus late at night and feel very safe. Also, if you have to go somewhere at night but are too afraid to walk there, you can call security to pick you up and take you there.
Clubs and Activities There are a lot of clubs and activities going on. It seems like there is never a quiet day.
Great for these types of students The University of Findlay is a good place for every kind of student. It has challenging classes for the more advanced students, but also has plenty of tutoring options to the people who need it.
What to do for fun The University of Findlay has a fitness center where you can work out, play basketball, raquet ball, rock climb or just hang out and play pool. Also, if you want to go somewhere, there is a mall and a movie theater in Findlay.
Food and Dining The food on campus is really good. There are a lot of on campus dining options, and the University of Findlay has something called bonus bucks where you can go to places like JimiJohn's, Marcos pizza and things like that and pay with your bonus bucks instead of money.
Dorm Life The dorm life is nice at Findlay. Every one is nice to each other, and your Residence assistant plans fun activities your floor does together, like watching movies, playing games, and going out to eat. Also, the dorm rooms are very nice.
Academic Rigor The University of Findlay has many hands on classes, such as animal handling classes that teach you how to properly handle food animals, like pigs, cows, and goats, as well as horses. Also, you get to feed the food animals and help take care of them your sophomore year when you get barn duty.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to study. College is nothing like High school, it is more challenging. If you study though, you will have no problem passing your classes.
In three sentences I am in the University's pre-vet program, and it is by far the best school for a pre-vet major. The hands on experience is amazing, you work with horses and all the food animals, like cows, pigs, and goats. I would not pick any other school for pre-vet.

Food and Dining Food is HORRIBLE. I dread going to the Dining hall, the Cave is a good place, good wraps.
Dorm Life Wish there were more opportunities to live on-campus apartment housing without a specific GPA.
Academic Rigor Teachers are helpful, at least some are. They are there to make sure you pass.
Tips for prospective students STUDY STUDY STUDY!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel extremely safe on campus. It would almost impossible for anything to happen to you on campus.
Clubs and Activities There is so much to do on campus. I am in Habitate for humanity, American Sign Language club, Pre-vet club, and Chemistry club.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus DON'T STEP ON THE RED DOTS IN BY THE FOUNTAIN. You will not pass your next exam. The main on is DO NOT GO THROUGH THE ARCH YOU WILL NEVER GRADUATE!!!
What to do for fun I go out clubbing at night on the weekends and go to the mall during the day. Other then that there is not much to do
Food and Dining It is good at first but after a semester it is not as exciting. Don't get me wrong most of the food is good but is the same thing every week. They also don't flavor any of the food. Very blan.
Dorm Life The dorms are for the most part are really nice. Yes some of them are old but they seem nice. The only problem is that the walls are thin so if you have loud neighbors, then you're going to hear them
Academic Rigor It is pretty hard, depending on the classes that you choose. Some days you will just be studying and do homework. Then on others you can study a little and be with friends.
Tips for prospective students To be a prospective student you just need to remember one simple thing, to make sure you have you study time and friend time separated.
In three sentences The University of Findlay is a wonderful school in every way. Everyone including the students here are very friendly. This is defiantly one of the best places to study at.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This is a special campus for those coming from small high schools or small areas who don't want to be lost in a crowd.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Don't walk under the Arch of you'll mysteriously drop out! Also, don't step on the cirlce in the sidewalk or you'll fail your next quiz!
Bang for the buck My program is super expensive. Although tuition is high, a lot of thins are free. For example: laundry and parking.
What to do for fun We have movie night every weekend and intramural sports year round. In Findlay, there is a movie theatre and The Cube, along with a mall down the road.
Food and Dining Although there are few choices, Henderson food is not too shabby. For being the only cafeteria, it is rarely repetitive.
Dorm Life The university even has all girls' dorms. The dorms are conviently located and the rooms are decent sizes. You get free laundry!
Academic Rigor I am in the 0-6 Pharmacy Program and there is no time for play. This program is strict and difficult.
Tips for prospective students Come see us at the University of Findlay! Sign up for extra-curriculars and Greek life. Go in to visit your professors during office hours, they want you to stop in!

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an arch out front of Old Main, the oldest building on campus. You are only supposed to walk through this arch twice in your life. Once walking towards the university during your first weekend at the school. The second time is during graduation when you walk away from the school. If you walk through the arch at any other time it is rumored that you will soon fail out of school.
Bang for the buck Very expensive school, but totally worth it if you are in a major that is not offered at many other colleges.
What to do for fun There are two clubs in Findlay, along with a movie theater and a bowling alley. Different organizations put on events so you may be able to find something to do on campus also.
Food and Dining Only one dining hall on campus, but bonus bucks can be used at a variety of off campus restaurants. The dining hall does have different food everyday, but if you are a picky eater you may end up eating cereal for dinner.
Dorm Life The dorms are nice to live in as a freshman or sophomore. You meet other people in your year and make lots of friends. The campus is completely dry so don't expect any parties in the dorms.
Academic Rigor This definitely depends on your major. Pharmacy and pre-vet majors have work loads that are enormous. There are other majors, however, that have it easy.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you visit campus. If a small college where you know everyone and so do the professors and the longest walk you have is 7 minutes doesn't sound pleasing to you, this may not be the college for you.
In three sentences Small college with a lot of opportunities. Great teachers and great students. You can find anything you want to do here.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a water fountain shaped like an oil rig; around this fountain are four red circles; don't ever step on them!! There's a curse to be dealt with if anyone dares.
What to do for fun Make friends and there will always be something fun to do. Findlay is not much of a lively city, but it's quaintness is what makes it so peaceful. The fun is where your bring it in most places. I suggest Coffee Amichi on a Friday night, they have amazing coffee and even better live music.
Food and Dining Henderson is the dining hall, and I would not go so far as to say it's delicious, but considering you have to eat there as a freshman, make it worth your buck! Take the bananas after your meal and don't always get the pizza! If you watch, you'll learn the tricks of the trade, just be careful not too eat too much first.
Dorm Life The dorm rules are not always enforced, and that has its ups and downs. Never think an RA is too much of a prude to be your friend, because if you know the right people, you'll find all the best secrets of the campus.
Academic Rigor As an undergrad, I took several master courses, and everyday I was reminded of that. Not a lot of the classes here are easy, so be prepared, but they are making your brain grow, think in ways you never imagined before. You might get that easy A once a semester, but why not aim for the class that has you doing your hardest?
Tips for prospective students As for any college, do not stay in your room: go out an mingle, keeping in mind that friends aren't made through judgments, they're made mostly by accidents. But as for UF, stay strong, when the hard Chem. classes knock you to your feet, grab a study buddy and prove yourself worthy, because everyone has the potential for greatness, it's just hiding under a few hundred pages.
In three sentences Looking back on the choice now, there is a lot of speculation as to why I choose Findlay, but every class period I have, I am reminded as to why I did. Although some general education classes have 40 or so kids, my main classes have been pushing me harder and farther than I have ever wished I could go; mostly because of the teachers: a small school is only as good as its weakest teacher and Findlay has no such thing. With their help, I have seen the world, met dozens of people, and have tried food that was still moving, so because of their faith in me, I am turning into the person I have always wanted to be.
