If you're in state going to the University of Montana is a very smart move. It's very inexpensive and you get a very high quality education out of it. As for out-of-state, it may be a little more pricey but the education and experiences you gain from Montana are priceless.

If you pay in-state tuition, this is one of the best deals in the country. It's kind of pricy for out-of-state students, though.

Overall, you get a lot out of this University. Unfortunately, school itself is way over priced, so if you're an in-state student you're definitely getting the best deal in town. But if you're out-of-state I would say it's average. If you're looking to go into anything that involves the outdoors (natural resources, wildlife biology, forestry) pick this school over any others. It has a great reputation and high credentials. For any other major, I'd say keep shopping around.

It's super affordable when you come to the university from a Montana city. The tuition is almost completely covered by your pell grant.
