  • Oct-16-2014 I am researching this school and have visited the campus

The Church of Christ Student Center was a nice place to chill with folks attending the school. All the people there were polite and funny, and I can't wait to spend more time with them.

Martin is a small town, but that doesn't mean there isn't any fun. There is a Soybean festival that is top notch and full of free concerts, food, and rides. There is also nice little shops downtown. If you are looking for some big adventures, there is a larger city only 15 minutes away full of other activities.

There's always something going on including: things that the Student Activities Council(S.A.C.) plans, greek life events, student organization events. You're only bored at Martin if you dont get involved!

The university brings in entertainment and guest speakers a few times throughout each semester. The Soybean festival that happens in the fall is really popular and artists such as Kansas has come to perform at it. Jackson and Paducah, two bigger cities, are an hour away. Fraternities and Sororities host lots of events and the theater or music department usually has a concert or play at least once a week. There are a lot of opportunities for Travel Study.

There's some bars around town that are actually pretty chill and nothing crazy. Just good ol' dancing, and the cities are not too far if you have a vehicle if you want to get out of town for the day.

The town of Martin isn't quite as exciting as the bigger cities, but the school has between two and five events a week that are completely free to students. The events range, but most of them are enjoyable. The town itself is nice if you enjoy hunting, nature, and small town charm.
