The University of Tennessee-Knoxville

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville

Knoxville, TN, USA

Founded two years before Tennessee achieved statehood in 1794, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville is the flagship campus of the UT system and the first public university west of the Appalachian Divide. UT is home to nine colleges and schools granting undergraduate degrees in over 360 areas of study. All incoming first year students are welcomed to UT with Torch Night ceremonies and graduating seniors are sent off with a celebration called Aloha Oe. To help serve the Knoxville community, the Tennessee Volunteers live up to their nickname by serving on outreach programs through the Center for Leadership and Service.

Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. What Students Are Saying

My freshman year at the University of Tennessee has been absolutely amazing. The campus is gorgeous, especially for being in downtown Knoxville, and there's so much to do in the area. The tuition is a little steep and classes were definitely a challenge, but the staff really works with you to help you succeed.
