Categories Comments Campus Safety You must wear a badge at all times, and there's a security officer in the entrance to the building that will stop you if you don't have a badge.
Greek Life None here I'm afraid.
Clubs and Activities Student government, other nursing organization meetings and groups.
Great for these types of students Dedicated.
Bang for the buck I couldn't recommend a better school to attend, especially if you live in Houston. It's a great education with strong comraderie among the students and faculty.
What to do for fun We didn't do very much as a class except for an occasional happy hour. Most of us had very different schedules, as well as families.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food is good but pricey. Most students chose to bring their own lunch. You are given an hour for lunch break.
Dorm Life I lived off campus.
Academic Rigor This program is very intense, but very worthwhile. Study, do well on exams, and your final at the end of the semester will be a breeze. Open up to an entirely new though process your professors will open your mind to.
Tips for prospective students Get ready to devote the majority of your time to your studies. Working full time and attending school full time can be very challenging, but with dedication one can still excel. Have a blast on the journey, you're going to meet some great friends!
In three sentences This is an accredited school that provides an excellent education. It is not only one of the best nursing schools in the state, but also the nation. The faculty are very helpful and supportive.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there is campus police patrolling constantly and there is security at the school up to 11pm. Doors lock from 10pm-6am and the only way into the building is to have a UTHSC ID badge.
Great for these types of students Hard working, dedicated, type-A personality.
What to do for fun Student groups gather and have sports activities early Monday mornings.
Food and Dining In the middle of the Texas Medical Center there are plenty of hospitals within walking distance that have amazing cafeterias available for lunch.
Dorm Life There are no dorms, but the Green Briar Apartments are a great place to live if you want to be close to school.
Academic Rigor I got through high school without studying, I also finished all my basics with a max of 1-2 hours of studying a night making straight A's. Here at UTHSC-SON, I average a minimum of 6 hrs of study time a night and I make B's. It is extremely challenging.
Tips for prospective students Know which study skills are you're strong points. Master time management. Work your hardest. Be prepared for your life to be consumed with school.
In three sentences UTHSC-SON is a nursing school that definitely challenges you and makes you try your hardest to achieve your dream. The staff is helpful and positive. Students stick together and help each other out.
