Transferring to a new college my junior year made me a little nervous. However at UTD people don't make you feel like an outsider they make your feel really comfortable and now only after a semester I feel as if this is where I started off my college experience.

» Read MoreThe atmosphere here is so relaxing and laid back. Most people you meet here are out to have a good time. In between classes and in your free time, there are so many opportunities to just hang out and chill.
» Read MoreIn high school, I was always told my college professors would show students no mercy. I was led to believe that they would be disrespectful, the least bit compassionate, and that they would not tolerate much. UT Dallas showed me that perceptions were wrong and maybe my teachers had just been saying these things to scare us before we actually experienced college for ourselves. This environment is shaping my personality and lifestyle, helping me to see the importance of education and social relationships. I honestly believe the school would be so much more appealing with a football team, which is my reason for giving this category 4 stars instead of 5. There would be much more school spirit. I never hear about conflict or trouble on campus, which is probably what I like the most. I like feeling safe when I walk by myself in both the daytime and night.
» Read MoreUTD might not be known for it parties but it does have a good crowd of people that meet in the student union where there's several pool tables and table tennis and other activities!!! Before attending here I've never played pool before but I gave it try and some of friendly students there taught me how to play, now even during summer I have to make a visit once in a while to play! There's many chapters/clubs for everyone and all interests and students are encouraged to make their own clubs if what they want is not already there! I myself joined Women Engineering society, IEEE, HSA and a few others! It's really fun in the beginning of the semester especially when they are constantly giving out free shirts!!!
