    Campus Safety

the security is very active around the entire campus and parking areas are well lit, open and patrolled.

    Greek Life

there are two or three major specific greek organizations and the phi theta kappa honors society for community college students who maintain a 3.5 gpa.

    Clubs and Activities

the clubs are whatever you make of them. if you are a leader there are dozens of people who will follow. the clubs change every semester based on the changing student body, but there is always a nice selection of very active clubs.

Great for these types of students

students who know what they want to do with their lives and will work. the professors will work with you.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

the president and deans walk around at odd times just to observe what is happening and to chat with a variety of students. they are very well connected with the student body and encourage you to visit them any time.

    Bang for the buck

excellent financial aid department and numerous scholarships. they also have top notch instructors who are passionate about what they teach, so combine super low tuition with some of the best professors in the state and you get lots of bang for every buck. small classes too.

    What to do for fun

there are dozens of student clubs doing everything from bowling and bycicling to debates, movies and camping trips. others organize multiple trips each semester to new york, boston or even places like ireland.

    Food and Dining

food? i prepare my own food and there are lots of chain and nice family run restaurants in the area. there is a cafeteria, but it has neither a good nor bad reputation.

    Dorm Life

you can live at home. yay! no dorms. rentals reasonably priced all over the city, and the college is in an area with no hills so you can bicycle.

    Academic Rigor

the courses are rigorous, but the professors are also very helpful and flexible where necessary. if you work hard and put in the time you will get an excellent grade in any class here.

    Tips for prospective students

if you need help ask. try to learn about as many resources as you can as early as you can. start a study group in every class and get to know other students.

    In three sentences

the class sizes are small and the professors are extremely helpful and go out of their way to provide explanations and assistance. i found the whole school to be very friendly and helpful from president to security officer.

    Campus Safety

the safety here is amazing, i always see security on duty no matter what time of the day walking around campus and calling in to check-in their position of where they are at the school.

    Clubs and Activities

    lots of clubs!

    Bang for the buck

the tuition is great here, my financial aid covers all of it every year that i apply and i always get money back for books which can also be applied to the bookstore! the staff in the financial aid office is really helpful too!

    What to do for fun

there's a game room in the f wing of the second floor where students can go and chillax before or after class. there's a billiards table, television, and i think a wii?

    Food and Dining

the cafe food is a bit on the expensive side, i mean when you're hungry and you have no time to go out to get food, this will do but i paid almost $3 for literally 5 small pieces of mozzarella sticks. =/

    Dorm Life

    there's no dorms.

    Academic Rigor

great staff, clean, and friendly environment.

    Tips for prospective students

try to get classes all planned way ahead of time, i mean like start registering right after the semester has ended because classes come and go really fast. plan to get your classes within two to three days of the week so that the commute wouldn't waste as much gas and time as oppose to having one class everyday.

    In three sentences

i remember a lot of my fellow high school friends looking down at this community college because it wasn't those big universities but i can honestly say this is a great school. this school not only has great programs like their nursing one but because it's local, it helps a lot of fresh high schoolers who don't know what they want to major in yet and cope with the transition from real . i've attended this college for almost two years now and i highly recommend this college because it's a great school.

Over zealous. They all think they are like TJ Hooker or something. It's actually comical.

    Clubs and Activities

    Something for everyone.

Liked it there. Could have REALLY done without all the All Men are Rapists type themes plastered all over the halls though. Other than that, it's a really good school.

    Campus Safety

TRCC is located in a safe area, but the school also employes many security guards. They enforce their smoking area policy and parking strictly.

    Clubs and Activities

The TRCC campus offers a variety of club from SKA club to student government.

Great for these types of students

TRCC would be great for most students, but especially students who are undecided on their future college major, students who would like to save money before transferring to a 4 year school, and students who have a full time job or families.

    Bang for the buck

Three Rivers Community College offers an affordable education, significantly less than other colleges.

    What to do for fun

TRCC is located in the center of Norwich,CT, just minutes away from Mohegan Sun Casino. Within the school, there are several student lounges with video game set-ups as well as a student game room. The school is also located by a variety of local restaurants and a public ice skating rink.

    Food and Dining

TRCC offers a variety of foods and beverages in its cafeteria and well as in its cyber cafe. The school is also located by several fast food chains and family style restaurants.

    Dorm Life

TRCC is a commuter college and does not offer any housing.

    Academic Rigor

TRCC goals is to create an environment that promotes learning, and a appreciation for education. By both challenging and inspring their students. A common misconception is that community colleges have lower expectation than other colleges and universities. This is simply not sure, I know from my own experience, that the expectations of TRCC can sometimes be higher than at other universities, because TRCC classroom sizes are remarkably smaller than most other universities.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved, in the TRCC community. Being a commuter college, it's easy for students to overlook the variety of clubs and organizations but getting involved within the school gives students the opportunity to expand their college experiences beyond just the classroom.

    In three sentences

Three Rivers Community College (TRCC), offers a comprehensive educational atmosphere, with a range of certificate programs and associate degrees. TRCC fosters the needs of a diverse student population of students, while also ensuring that the school is affordable, accessible, and innovative for all its students. These traits makes TRCC an excellent choice for students who are not sure what they want out of college yet and/or students who are worried about finical burden of higher education.
