Keep your grade point average high. When starting college, the best thing to do is start with a high GPA. If your GPA is high then others won't mind helping you out in the near future. Plus, with a high GPA, everything is easier!

It can get boring on the weekends, so always have something planned out. Work first, party later. Live in a dorm your first year its fun and exciting that's when you will get to meet all of your classmates and really get to know them. Get to know some upperclassmen, they can help you out and give advice at times. The labs are your best friends when you don't have a computer or printer. Lastly, the library will be your absolute best friend when its time for finals or mid-terms, but make sure to take a jacket.
