Most instructors take attendance. Don't miss class. Constantly communicate with your instructors if you're like me, and you miss a lot of class. They will cut you a break if you are on top of your work, email work to them when you are sick, and explain your situation to them.

If you wait until the last minute to register, the classes that you want will be filled up, and you would have to check back to see if anyone dropped out of the class. Get familiar with buildings. You don't want to run around looking for the right building and classroom on your first day. Take advantage of the writing lab and the tutors there. Check with your school counselor often to make sure you are on the right path with your classes.
