Am learning a lot
I had dreams of going to a giant college. In my senior year I destroyed my chances by failing math. I was devastated. TMCC was really my only option. My first day I walked in with the attitude of pessimism and negativism. I was so so surprised by the calibre of the teachers and the atmosphere of learning that surrounded the college. I learned more my first week there then I did throughout high school. I continue to be excited about what I'm going to learn each day.
Am enjoying being here
While I was attending I found out about a school competition called TMCC Idol. I got talked into trying out and not only got in, but got second place in the competition. I had so much fun! The school really invites you in and everywhere you go your surrounded by great people.
Bang for the buck
TMCC is ridiculous cheap, especially for the amazing services they provide. Most services are free, tutoring, printing, library services, academic advisement. My English teacher actually said she had never worked for a school that was such a bargain.
Tips for prospective students
TMCC isn't a very hard school to get into and if you take it seriously you will learn so much. Register early so you can get the classes you want. Don't be afraid to use the tutoring center, its completely free and there for the students.
Great for these types of students
Anyone who is strapped for cash and wants to be in a great environment for learning.

Am learning a lot
Getting out of high school I did not learn a lot and was confused in many subjects. This college helped me learn even the most basic concepts that I did not understand in high school.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy being here because I like small colleges. It is not a giant campus, but there is more than one. The only problem I face is being young in a community college can be intimidating. A lot of older people go to community colleges, so there is not a lot of young people around. I am not saying being older is bad, but personally I feel intimidated with me being 17 and the majority being, estimated, over 25 years old.
Bang for the buck
The pricing is not bad for a community college. I got a lot of knowledge out of it, and it is probably just as good as some other expensive colleges.
Tips for prospective students
Read the description of the class before you register for it. Listen to what other students say about teachers. See if you can figure out what teacher fits you type of learning because sometimes there is more than one teacher, but they teach differently. Register as early as you can to get the classes you want or need. Based on the teachers I have had so far, they are understanding and will try to help you as much as they can.
Great for these types of students
Anyone who has time, motivation, and needs a college that is not extremely expensive.

The teachers are passionate about what they do. They really take the time to help you and make sure you're understanding the material.
Am enjoying being here
The entire environment here is great. People and staff are polite and different campuses make the commute easier.
Tips for prospective students
Look up reviews on teachers on ratemyprofessors.com before enrolling in a class. It can really help it getting an effective teacher.
Great for these types of students
Any students really. You just have to be willing to learn. Also be independent and organized.

they are very helpful when it comes to helping with financial aid, picking classes, and academic advising.
the teachers care enough to help when you ask, they try to be as flexible as they can.
the staff and student workers are great, nice and dependable.
Tips for prospective students
always know that you can ask for help that you don't have to be afraid to ask anyone for help around the campus, everyone is friendly and nice. also take advantage of the tutoring center because one it is free and it helps a lot with math and writing. they have tutors that are dedicated to their job and that is helping us through the class.
Academic Rigor
the classes are a good quality size not too many students in the class room so it is a great learning environment and i have got great grades because i was able to learn with the small sizes in the class room.
Dorm Life
we do not have dorms on campus but there is an affordable housing down from the college for college students and it is a dorm style. with sharing kitchen and living rooms. they also have free wifi and an area with computers where you can do your homework. and the great thing about this living space is it is all college students.
Food and Dining
the food is at a reasonable price and taste great it cooked fresh and they have a variety of foods. they have a big area where you can eat and also have tables out side if you wanted to eat outside.
What to do for fun
i just talk with freinds or study with friends for fun.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Campus Safety
for campus safety they have school police. they also have a building where you can find them if you ever have a problem. around the campus they also have these big blue towers if you push the button it will alert the police on campus and someone will come to help you.

i have never been so impressed with a college and the variety of classes offered. the instructors are amazing and make every attempt to help you in any way possible. i have been to unr and i am so much happier at tmcc.
Tips for prospective students
do your homework with regards to the program you are seeking a degree in. an advisor can help you but ultimately it is your responsibility to verify the information given to you is correct. this is a great school with great people, great professors, decent prices and very flexible for any schedule. i would highly recommend.
Academic Rigor
depends on the class and which career path you choose. i considered my undergrad work to be pretty easy but now i am in the nursing program and it's the number 1 program currently in the state of nevada so it's definitely more rigorous.
Dorm Life
no living on campus.
Food and Dining
cafeteria is pretty amazing and they serve just about anything.
What to do for fun
they offer lot's of school events, clubs, and special days in the redmountain building on any given week.
Bang for the buck
cheapest in the area. i had to take a class at unr, because tmcc was remodeling their laboratories and boy did i pay for that class. at tmcc a class (depending on how many credits) is roughly around $220. i paid close to $800 at unr for one class!!!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
most people do not take advantage of the library but i highly recommend it. also the library offers internet but there are also 2 additional computer labs that most don't even realize are there in the sierra building.
Great for these types of students
if you are working full-time, single mom and dad's or if it's your first time in college and you are paying for it yourself this will be an excellent experience for you.
Clubs and Activities

Greek Life
phi theta kappa honor society
Campus Safety
police are on campus at all time and emergency buttons and lights are distributed all over
