Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great if you could use a break and some easy college credit.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to go to RateMyProfessors.com before enrolling in classes.
Bang for the buck I get school for free because I do community service. If I had to pay I would be very disappointed in the quality of education. For some classes i don't even buy books because I know I wont use them.
Am enjoying being here I attend the Southeast Campus and thoroughly enjoy it. It is clean and they have a lot of cool activities. I haven't had any bad experiences while going here.
Am learning a lot I was an honors student in high school who came to TCC for the Tulsa Achieves community service program. I don't feel challenged at all but I am the kind of student who likes writing papers and doing homework. If your looking for easy college credit I would go here.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Since the cost of attendance is much less than a tradition four-year college, there is no real issue here. Many of the classes are fully transferable, so its possible to get an associates degree at less than half the cost, then go to a college offering higher degrees knowing that the courses taken previously were sufficient.
What to do for fun There are sometimes events in the Y, but nothing very fun. It is interesting watching the ducks though.
Food and Dining There is only one restaurant. It is expensive for what it is. There are tons of vending machines and many of them have credit/debit card readers.
Dorm Life There are no on-campus living options.
Academic Rigor Much of the course material is fairly easy. The only thing that is important is turning assignments in on time and showing up to class to take notes. Studying is also important for tests and quizzes, but it is not too time consuming.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to attend class regularly because many of the instructors give out class participation grades that reflect attendance; not all instructors will let you make up work that was done in-class, so be weary. Make sure you check online to see what your instructor has posted. Most of the professors use the BlackBoard system to communicate with students and post important announcements, such as class cancellations and temporary or permanent room changes. This also includes using your TCC email frequently because that is the instructors' other form of communication. Be sure to keep on top of when financial aid deadlines are. Turn in any documents that are requested through the financial aid office before it gets too close to the beginning of the semester. Your enrollment in classes can be dropped if you do not turn them in on time. Be sure to enroll in classes early as possible to guarantee the most course options and times.
In three sentences Qualifying for admission is simple because there are no GPA requirements and ACT score is not required (a placement test can be taken instead). The cost of attendance is much less than a four-year university and they offer courses that are transferable to other colleges. There are helpful academic labs that provide assistance to students struggling on certain topics.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This college is great for anyone in my book; as long as the tend to work hard and put in the effort.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to read your syllabus every night because your homework is on there.
Bang for the buck The prices are really cheap compared to other campus I have looked at; so if you don't have much money try TCC first.
Am enjoying being here The activities here at the West Campus are fun. I have been staying in school longer to have some fun after classes and to do some weight lifting.
Am learning a lot I am learning a lot more here at TCC then i did in High School. This college is giving me some challenges and I'm meeting them head on. That's the only way to learn to have a nice challenge and do your best.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who need a school schedule that will fit into their everyday life.
Tips for prospective students Apply as soon as possisble to avoid delays in starting classes and be sure to enroll in classes soon to ensure that you recieve your desired class times.
Bang for the buck Coming out of high school, I received a scholarship that covered all of my tuition, which was amazing and I feel that I received a great education.
Did enjoy being here Tulsa Community College campuses are clean and convenient. There are several different campuses that offer day and night classes that fit around student's schedules. I enjoyed the institution.
Did learn a lot Tulsa Community College professors are very thorough and professional. They helped to make sure that their students understood the coursework and being a community college, we were allowed more one-on-one onteraction with the professors. I feel very confident that I am knowledgeable and that I will be able to succeed at an institution.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Enrolling early for classes assures you would have the choice of picking your professor... A lot of classes fill up veeeery quick!
Bang for the buck That is a greeattt place to take your general education classes and pay much less than when taking them at big 4 year universities... It is worth to go there first, and then transfer to finish your degree somewhere else... Great for people in the Tulsa Achieves program, cause they do not pay the tuition!
Did enjoy being here I think that due to the fact that the school is soo big there is no school spirit, like in different junior colleges... Adding college sports would definietly increase the student's interest in connecting more with the school...
Did learn a lot Just like every other school, how much you learn in each class depends on the professor. I had the best professors and some that were not too good... Overally it is a great place where you can take your basic classes, and if you enroll early enough (since there is more and more students each semester) also recieve great teachers!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for parents, adults with full time jobs, young students, or really anyone!
Tips for prospective students Wait til you go to class to buy your books!!! Many times you do not need them. If your professor says that you will constantly be doing work out of your book then it would be wise to invest in that book, but if you will only be studying and doing a few assignments don't waste your money. I am pretty sure that all the books are available in the school library to use. You cannot check them out, but you cn study and use them in the library. Also, some books will come with more than one book (costing extra) your professor may say the extra book is not needed. In this case, you can buy a used book, rent or purchase a book online. I made As and Bs my 1st semester in college and I didn't purchase any of my books.
Bang for the buck I am struggling to pay for the classes because I do not qualify for FASFA and I am paying for class on my own. TCC is doing little to help me out even though I am making great grades.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE the South East Campus! It is large, clean, and has the college atmosphere with super friendly people! I also attend West and Glenpool. West is to much like a high school for my taste. I don't enjoy walking into class and hearing people talk about someone's bad taste in clothes or if they went to the party last weekend. Honestly, I am in college to grow and mature, not spend my time around immature students that choose to party and make bad decisions. The Glenpool campus is a wonderful campus! It is very small and friendly campus! The classes are normally less than fifteen students and everyone is very kind. Glenpool is great if you feel uncomfortable about a lot of people and just want to feel comfortable!
Am learning a lot Honestly, most of the information I am currently going over is all review to me. That is not to say that there are not difficult classes. I am just in classes that are review from high school (history, math, biology) It is a great school if you are worried about getting back in the groove. The professors are generally very willing to work with you if you are struggling.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Be sure to get involved with your campus. There are so many things that you can do even simply volunteer with something that TCC suggests. There are many excellent classes that I was a part of and my all time favorite was a tie between New Testament at Metro Campus or Intro to Psych at West Campus.
Bang for the buck There are many things that you can get involved in for FREE at most campuses. Baptist Collegiate Ministry offers a free lunch Wednesday's at Noon at West Campus and allows you to be involved in so many activities that they offer for the basic 'I am bored and need new friends' college student. Also, you get a free gym membership, many contests to enter with the Student Activities, and so much more!
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being connected to the West Campus. The other campuses are a lot larger so the small tight nit group at West is valuable for me. It brings a comfort when you see fellow classmates or instructors walking down the hallway asking how are you doing.
Am learning a lot I left high school and went straight to TCC on the Tulsa Achieves scholarship. This scholarship allowed me to not only go to school tuition free, but also allowed me and my family to have a stress free 5 semesters without having to worry about finances. There have been wonderful professors in my classes and I have learned more than I could ever ask at TCC.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Check out a lot of different colleges before you decide to choose just one. Make sure you listen and ask as many questions as possible and research the school before you go to the tours.
Bang for the buck I'm not ready to answer this question yet.
Will enjoy being here If I do choose to go to college here, I think I will most likely be happy with my choice.
Will learn a lot I think this is one of the better college tours I have been on. It isn't my top pick though.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students High school dual enrolled. First and second year college. Students requiring one basic class because they have changed their major at another university. Non traditional students. Non degree seeking students and undecided degree seeking.
Tips for prospective students Talk to your advisors and professors, they are there to help you. You can take classes at any of the campuses, don't let the campus location stop you from attending a class you want. That being said, use a 'home' campus: one campus you will take all of your financial aid questions to, bookstore (except online classes must use the Northeast campus bookstore) and facilities. It will make the campus easier to navigate and you will get to know the staff, which always makes for an enjoyable way to resolve issues should they arise.
Bang for the buck Intending to transfer to another school I was suprised to find both my 4 year choice and this 2 year college have similar costs for classes. There are more options here than where I hope to graduate from as well as this is significantly closer, which, with todays gas prices equates to cheaper.
Am enjoying being here Each campus has various campus activities which everyone is always encouraged to participate. Events are held regularly and fun if you are able to attend; they are geared more towards daytime attendees rather than evening, but not exclusively.
Am learning a lot As a non traditional student, I can't relate this to high school. It was too many years ago to compare. The professors are extremely knowledgeable in their subject and available for consult if you need it. It is fantastic preparation for a transfer as well as an in-house associates degree.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If your a first time freshman straight from high school, check out their Tulsa Achieves program.
Tips for prospective students Don't wait until the last minute, because something will go wrong.
Bang for the buck The books are REALLY expensive. With out sholarship or parental help most traditional students can not afford the things they will need.
Am enjoying being here Whenever I need help understanding something or have a question there is always someone to answer my question, (at resonable hours)
Am learning a lot Sometimes the classes are insanly easy but sometimes you really have to work for the A

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for ALL students but especially for people who prefer smaller crowds and a small-town community feel. As an older adult student, I especially believe wholeheartedly that working adults or those who are first time college students and may be a bit apprehensive will benefit from the smaller campus size.
Tips for prospective students Feel free to walk around the campus, check out the library, computer labs and book store..browse the aid and job postings available..get a good feel for the class layout. Apply early for loans and grants and touch base with an academic advisor.
Bang for the buck I feel that the education one receives at TCC will definitely be worth the money. Tuition is very reasonable and the financial aid department is friendly and helpful.
Will enjoy being here I have taken a few spins around the NE campus and I like the updated look, the space, landscaping and easy access. I am signed up for freshman orientation next month and hope to get a proper tour.
Will learn a lot Being a community college I believe the stress level, competition and class size will be very manageable for a returning non-traditional adult student. This in turn will give an opportunity to focus on classes in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Concurrent enrollment High School students, Students who just want their basics before transferring, Home school students who are entering a public school for the first time, Students who do not like being in an extremely large class, Students who are on low-income budgets and simply need an education for less money
Tips for prospective students Definitely go to www.ratemyprofessor.com and look up the teachers before you pick them. Do NOT wait until last minute to sign up for classes because the best teachers go first!
Bang for the buck The books are very expensive but the tuition is pretty cheap.
Am enjoying being here The southeast campus is amazing! It is clean, the staff is--for the most part-- nice and helpful, and the campus police are extremely helpful and definitely make me feel safe.
Am learning a lot This is my third semester at Tulsa Community College and I can honestly tell you that I am learning a lot.

Tips for prospective students Do NOT apply if your not gonna be able to attend! I am paying for a class I never stepped foot in because their phones have problems, their website crashes half the time and was unable to go to drop my class!
Bang for the buck Its a community college, need I say more?
Did enjoy being here Everyone here is nice, the staff is great but the information desks and reception needs to get worked on, they were sending me everywhere.
Did learn a lot I had an o.k. teacher, didnt really go out of his way to teach.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If your determined about getting your basics and succeeding in school, then this is the college for you. Its very laid back and is a campus anybody from any background would enjoy.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you put the time in to talk to someone about what classes to take and make some type of schedule and a college plan for yourself. The administration is not going to go to you. You have to go to them.
Bang for the buck I heard that if you have lived in Tulsa your whole life college is free. I'm not sure about that, but since i just moved here, I applied for residency (out of state tuition was TOO much money) and all classes are affordable.
Am enjoying being here I like at TCC (southeast campus) Its very pretty and quite. I recently moved to Tulsa so i really didn't know anyone so i joined a club. The BCM club is a BLAST and so are the people.
Am learning a lot I'm learning a lot a TCC. Right now i'm taking an old testament class and its so interesting. I'm learning a lot about the bible then i knew before.

Bang for the buck I like that i don't have to pay back anything till 6 months after i graduate. It is very good for people who are tight on money.
Am enjoying being here I love that i can choose to be online or go on campus it is very nice.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have a great Campus police.
Greek Life Unknown
Clubs and Activities I know they have them but I am not involved in any.
Great for these types of students It is a great place for students starting there basics and wish to transfer. Older students just starting out. and those just refeshing their education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None that I am aware of.
Bang for the buck A very large selection of courses to choose from and not terribly expensive.
What to do for fun As an older Student I do not have alot incommon with all my classmates so I am sorry can not provide the best advise for this question.
Food and Dining Varies from campus to campus but not bad.
Dorm Life Not Applicable
Academic Rigor I found my first semester to be fairly relaxed yet some what challenging I have no doubt that things will become even more challenging in the future.
Tips for prospective students Metro Campus is the best canpus in my opinion for enrolling and getting all of your questions and concerns answered in one place. I like the bookstore at the Northeast Campus better so far they have more stuff. Do not limit yourself to just one campus be willing to commute if you can for more class choices.
In three sentences I have enjoyed TCC very much they have excellent resources for learning and are very helpful. I like the convenience of multiple campuses and the ease of finding a class schedule that works for you. So far it has been an excellent learning experience.

Categories Comments Campus Safety On Campus Security at all locations as well as convenient phones in the parking lots for easy access to Security officers by pressing 0.
Great for these types of students Great for International students, there are many classes where students from Spanish speaking countries may take Translation courses and receive college credit for doing so!
What to do for fun For fun, you can enjoy walking in the gymnasium or working out in the gym.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has the best burger and fries you've ever tasted! They also have affordable specials weekly.
Academic Rigor In the few semesters I've been enrolled at Tulsa Community College, I feel my eyes are opened up to new things that I never imagined I would accomplish. I recommend T.C.C. to anyone who wants to change their life for the better and have a great sense of accomplishment while doing so.
Tips for prospective students I would suggest that anyone who enrolls at Tulsa Community College to be sure and start their Financial Aid Process and apply for admissions as far as three months in advance in order to have plenty of time to prepare for courses and having your classes secured by the Financial Aid department to avoid delays on enrollment etc.
In three sentences Tulsa Community College is a great higher learning institution. T.C.C. has many different areas of study designed for the student to be able to enter the workforce upon completing and internship and graduation. I love being a student at Tulsa Community College, it is both a rewarding and helpful journey in my life to get this opportunity to accomplish my goals.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there have been no issues since i have been there, and i began in july of 2011.
Clubs and Activities honors society, fitness center, subway, i've seen games for free prizes, forensics team
Great for these types of students anyone just beginning college or returning after being away for awhile.
What to do for fun there isn't much to do here for fun, but i have taken advantage of the gym membership. student activities desks are always giving away freebies or discounted movie tickets.
Food and Dining there is only a subway on campus, but it is rather tasty.
Dorm Life there is no dorms available, so obviously they can't rank in this category.
Academic Rigor i love how the notes are posted online so that you can recap, or if you can't keep up with writing all of the notes in class, which is hard for me to do since my hands always cramp up.
Tips for prospective students i would definitely recommend tcc-northeast campus, especially to those who are just starting college. also, i have learned that the most important part of being in college is attendance and participation.
In three sentences i really appreciate the time that the teachers offer to their students, even though there are so many. in a class of nearly fifty students, all of my professors remembered my name, which means a lot to me. all of my professors so far have been very thorough with their lectures and make sure to post notes online to refresh each session just in case if you forget your material.

Categories Comments Campus Safety all you have to do is call campus police if you don't feel safe walking to your car at night. there is a visible presence. even at northeast in north tulsa i felt safe.
Clubs and Activities check out their website tulsacc.edu
Great for these types of students if you don't have a lot of money for school because your parents make too much for aid but not enough to really help. for students who may want to save money by living at home or aren't really ready to leave. you can get use to a college set up but be in the comfort of home.
Bang for the buck great education for a great price. if you live in tulsa county check out tulsa achieves. you great everything free except books. it's an awesome deal.
What to do for fun tulsa is not a college town but there's a lot of fun things to do. cain's ballroom is a great venue and there's all sort of clubs. you just have to do a google search.
Food and Dining the food is great and depends on which campus you go to. the southeast and metro locations has a bill & ruth's and the prices aren't too bad.
Academic Rigor this really depends of the professor and the class you are taking. if you are wanting to be pushed then take honors classes. ratemyprofessor.com is a great resource, as well as current students. if you want easier classes then just ask current students.
Tips for prospective students ask current students for professor recommendations. don't be afraid to take honors classes because they are small, the profs usually have their doctorates, and the classes are much more in-depth. get into the honors program, you can get 13,000 a year if you plan to transfer to university of tulsa.
In three sentences it's a great school with tons of great people. the price is great for the education you will receive. there are people of all ages there so don't be afraid if you are getting up there, age wise.

Categories Comments Food and Dining the cafeteria provides quite healthy food, and have a good variety.
Dorm Life there are no dorms at the tulsa community colleges.
Academic Rigor learning what you're taught is significant in the majority of your classes.
Tips for prospective students a community college does not mean you get an easy a. you do have to work for your grade so study, a lot!
In three sentences tulsa community college is an amazing first step for beginners. the teachers are friendly and helpful. another great thing is there aren't a lot of students in a class so the teacher would have more time for you.

Categories Comments Campus Safety tcc always staffs a campus officer and if you need help to your car or changing a flat, the campus police are glad to help.
Greek Life tcc offers a sorority but from my understanding it is very limited and not well known.
Clubs and Activities i have only seen a few fliers around campus for any clubs or activities. over the two years i have spent at tcc i have never met a student involved in any club or activity.
Great for these types of students tcc is great for those students that only need a couple classes to go on to a four year college.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus last semester they held a small independent films festival for adults that was a nice change of pace.
Bang for the buck i have not found a college that offers classes for as cheap as tcc but i have also had terrible counseling and the classes are too large to expect any one on one learning. also, the staff in the bursar's office and financial aid office are notorious for their crude acts at tcc.
What to do for fun tcc offers very few recreational activities but they do have a pool and arcade room.
Food and Dining the cafeteria is very basic and hours are not helpful for evening students; 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Dorm Life they do not offer dorm living but the metro campus is near some wonderful apartments in tulsa.
Academic Rigor the majority of students at tcc that are also enrolled at a university have said the classes at tcc are simpler than those at their university.
Tips for prospective students i would advise prospective students to speak with couselors of different institutions over the counselors at tcc. tcc's counselors have misinformed my husband and i multiple times.
In three sentences tulsa community college is flexible for students that hold odd schedules. however, tcc is not as suitable for working students as other college's tend to be. many of tcc's online professors still expect each student to spend at least twenty hours a week on their class regardless of how many classes they are enrolled in.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus police are very nice an helpful and i feel secure.
Greek Life not active in any sororities.
Clubs and Activities there are all sorts of academic clubs posted on message boards throughout the campus
Great for these types of students want to get an education without the dorm life
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus none
Bang for the buck tcc is very affordable
What to do for fun you can always join a club and be active in student activities
Food and Dining there is a cafeteria on campus
Academic Rigor everything you would get from a four year university without the high cost and staying on campus
Tips for prospective students take a tour, talk with advisors
In three sentences i give tulsa community college thumbs up

Categories Comments Campus Safety seems pretty safe to me. there's always police officers and security workers around campus and most areas are well lit or well in the open for other people to see if something bad were to happen.
Clubs and Activities they are out there but you have to look a little harder here than you would at other colleges.
Great for these types of students tcc doesn't have a whole lot of options for majors but they are good at allowing you to get your basics done before transferring to another school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus i can't really think of any.
Bang for the buck tcc is good about helping out where they can for paying for school. there's multiple scholarship opportunities and if you're a tulsa resident and have lived in tulsa county for at least a year you can go for free, except for having to pay for books, with this volunteering deal called tulsa achieves.
What to do for fun intramural sports are great! i'm playing volleyball and it gets pretty competitive yet its still really fun!
Food and Dining there's a subway on one of the campuses but other than that it's just local food restaurants.
Academic Rigor some classes are challenging but others aren't as much. the teachers do expect you to study ourside of class and to do your homework on time if there's any.
Tips for prospective students use ratemyprofessor.com! it's very helpful for which professors to choose from because while most are great, you occasionally get one that's not so great. and study a little each day, it'll help in the long run!
In three sentences good student to teacher ratio. every teacher i've had has always been willing to help out in whatever way they can to help you make the grade you want to in his/her class.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus safety could use some improvement. During night classes the lighting over the parking isn't up to date so there's barely any lighting for safety.
What to do for fun For fun the college hosts gatherings for children ,or the community to act in a variety of activities.
Food and Dining I wouldn't know if the cafe is good quality food , or not because i haven't ate there myself. But they do have a variety of vending machines throughout campus full of different beverages , and snacks.
Dorm Life Since Tulsa Community College is a junior college there isn't on campus residence available.
Academic Rigor The grading scale here is complicated. Sometimes the teachers like to curve the grades, i haven't really ever understood that process. But the professors are usually fair upon grades.
Tips for prospective students Try enrolling early , because the classes fill up quickly. In order to finish college soon make sure to take classes in your majors category.

Dorm Life There are no on-campus dorms. There are, however, nearby apartments that are quite affordable for college students on a budget.
Academic Rigor The classes are small and personalized, so the relationship between teacher and student is potentially close. That being said, teachers are strict and fair in the most prestigious manner. Every class a student takes will absolutely reflect his or her performance.
Tips for prospective students Do not procrastinate while entering this college. It may seem easy at first but just because it is a community college does not mean it is a challenging educational institution. Form relationships with your classmates and your teachers, this friendly close-quarter college will provide you with every opportunity to make friends and further yourself.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are many organizations one can be involved in - the only challenge is finding them!
Great for these types of students Anyone who loves to meet people will thrive at TCC. The student population is extremely diverse, including people of all ages (some as young as 16 and as old as 75), and all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. For those who want to be invovled in Honors societies but still study in a relaxed environment will be glad to find that TCC does offer a Phi Theta Kappa chapter on every campus as well as a school-wide Honors Scholar Program.
What to do for fun TCC is a come-and-go school, but if one wishes to hang around for a time, there are recreational rooms on most campuses. These have arcade games, pool tables, and table tennis. Also, the Student Government and campuses themselves hold events like Wii tournaments, dances, and table tennis tournaments intermittently throughout the semester.
Food and Dining TCC has four separate campuses, and each one has one restaurant/cafeteria. Some of the food is restaurant-quality (for example, one campus has a Subway and another has a Bill & Ruth's) and there is a fairly large selection. Of course, since there is only one main place to buy food on each campus the prices are rather high.
Dorm Life TCC is a community college, and does not have dorms.
Academic Rigor The overall quality of education is average, but by researching professors before enrolling in their classes, one can obtain a higher-quality learning experience.
Tips for prospective students Utilize professor recommendations of previous students as much as possible to obtain the best education and learning experience. Get involved in one or several of the many student organizations that TCC offers - this is a great way to meet students who care about their schooling and professors who are enthusiastic teachers.
In three sentences TCC has a relaxed and extremely diverse environment. Overall, the education quality is average, but like at any other school one can pick out the best professors to improve the quality of education. TCC is an affordable college which also offers a large amount of financial aid.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Each campus has security, each campus has its own parking, and I have never felt unsafe at any locaton.
Clubs and Activities I belong to Phi Theta Kappa, but there are associations for every discipline.
Great for these types of students With classes offered in many forms TCC is great for any type of student. You can enroll in night classes, 16 week classes, 8 week classes, 4 week classes, weekend classes, and intersession classes, whatever suits your schedule and lifestyle.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Each campus has a fully equipped gym, which I never expected to find, that is available for each student to use at their convenience.
Bang for the buck TCC Northeast campus is my home campus, this is where the Facet Center is. The Facet Center offers computers, and tutors to help with Math, English, and Computers. Tuition is less expensive here than at a four year university, and many teachers come from real life situations.
What to do for fun On campus there are always fun things to do, like WII Wednesdays, knitting groups, and various clubs centered around academic groups.
Food and Dining * Each campus has a dining option, but I rarely take advantage of it.
Dorm Life Tulsa Community College does not have dorms.
Academic Rigor TCC offers classes in many majors, and has a range of options from certificates to associate degrees. I have enjoyed every class I have taken, and the teachers have been helpful and caring. They make it possible to achieve if you try.
Tips for prospective students Visit with the counselors, they can help you decide what classes to take and in what order to take them. Be prepared for each hour of class to require 2 to 3 hours of outside study each week. Utilize the tutors available at each campus.
In three sentences TCC is a fabulous alternative to a more expensive 4 year university, with great teachers, flexible hours, and several campuses. Categories Comments Campus Safety Tulsa Police is on campus. So no worries there. In the middle of the semester I accidentally left my book in a room and they unlocked it for me. I also heard that they'll escort you to your car if you're concerned about your safety.
Greek Life There are Greek organizations on campus, I'm only aware of one, though. It's for students who are interested in the Honors program. Call TCC or talk to an advisor, they're super friendly and caring!
Clubs and Activities There are dozens of Clubs and Activities. TCC has a catalog available, I'm sure you'll be able to find one that interests you. I am going to enroll into the Honors program, and have a few friends who are in a Hispanic Heritage group.
Great for these types of students TCC is great for students who either have less financial aid available to them or students who want to stay close to home. TCC's curriculum is transferable to almost every university in the state.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I haven't found any unusual tradition, YET. It's only my first semester, but I will keep an eye out!
Bang for the buck Completely worth it! I love TCC. While the atmosphere may not be as exciting as that of a University, remember, it's what make it out to be that determines your satisfaction.
What to do for fun They post monthly events all around the school and on their website. Each campus has an activity center, and one even has a rock climbin wall but I'm not sure which. You can attend all activity centers if you're a current student.
Food and Dining Each campus has a cafeteria. I attend both the Metro and Northeast campuses. Metro has a Bill and Ruth's in their cafeteria and not to mention all the restaurants that are in Downtown Tulsa, most of which are just a few minutes away (walking).
Dorm Life It is a community college therefore no dorms are available. The are however apartments and other forms of housing near almost every campus. TCC may have some information regarding available housing establishments.
Academic Rigor Again, it depends on the professor. Ask around. If you want a more challenging setting, take Honors courses. I took one this semester and it was great!
Tips for prospective students Ask around about professors or even visit RateMyProfessor.com. This way you'll know what to expect or you'll be able to find a teacher that better caters to your weaknesses.
In three sentences The atmosphere at TCC is great, especially at the Metro Campus. They have a wide variety of opportunities and fun events every month. My professors this semester were all brilliant and exciting.

Tips for prospective students Vet your instructors, make sure they are qualified and reasonable. Enroll early.
In three sentences I rate both the education and helpfulness of the administrative staff as fair/average. Instructors are less than dynamic, they know the material, but know less about the value of the material in it's application to real life . Administrative staff are knowledgeable, but could improve quality of customer service, i.e. communication to better understand student questions and needs.

Food and Dining Cafe food has yet to let me down, I bounce between Metro and Northeast every other semester it never fails with me taking engineering courses and even though I love the food from Metro, Northeast shakes it up with a subway. lunch and dinner hours over? There's gas stations all around!
Dorm Life There is none, but many campuses have the same hang out spots as the floors in dorms at other colleges so its nice to go and check those places out (especially at Metro).
Academic Rigor Its not easy, but it not hard. As long as you have got your head in the game you're set. Oh and don't forget to check and write reviews at www.ratemyprofessor.com helps a lot and most people will tell you to check it before you get into the class.

Greek Life Phi Theta Kapa (PTK) is on of the few greek options at TCC.
Clubs and Activities Tulsa Community College offers a variety of activities and clubs. Also, gives students an option to start their own clubs and organizations.
Great for these types of students Tulsa Community College is a great option for undecided students (who prefer not to waste money at a big university), parents of young children, adults seeking an associates degree or just picking up a couple classes for their employment, non-degree seeking students who want a certificate in a specialized program, or simply students who prefer to live at home while they earn a degree.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Since TCC is a community college there is not too many unusual traditions. One thing we do every year is a Halloween costume contest where all staff/faculty is encouraged to participate. Each department is urged to dress-up some with themes and others individually. A prize is given to the top dressed contestants.
Bang for the buck I am very satisfied with the education that I received from Tulsa Community College, especially with the price of tuition. College can get so expensive, but I have been blessed to have financial aid and scholarship opportunities that have kept me out of debt thus far.
What to do for fun All Tulsa Community College campuses have fitness centers that offer group fitness classes. The student activities office did a great job at offering activities such as: Wii Wednesday, BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) luncheon, and holiday events like pumpkin carving and cookie decorating.
Food and Dining Subway was our only dining option at TCC. Although Subway offers great food and prices variety is good also.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at this community college.
Academic Rigor This question is subjective. If you attend class because you are ready to learn and you are passionate about learning then academics are not rigorous. Academics, with the right attitude, are challenging-which is exactly how college should be.

Categories Comments What to do for fun One of the things I've enjoyed most about Tulsa Community College is the use of the fitness center. For me, I like to take the free aerobic classes for fun! Of course, there are many other opportunities to participate in, considering it's a public college.
Dorm Life Tulsa Community College is a commuter only school, so there are no dorms to rate.
Tips for prospective students If you're pursuing Tulsa Community College as a potential student, be sure to always ask plenty of questions. One thing I've learned while being at TCC is that no one will just offer you information - you have to probe. Also, if you choose to take online courses (which I highly recommend) be prepared to put in the effort and work hard. Stay in touch with your professors and always keep the lines of communication open.
In three sentences Tulsa Community College offers many great opportunities educationally for students living in the Tulsa area. Categories Comments Campus Safety There are always campus police walking around campus. They also routinely practice emergency drills as a precaution.
Clubs and Activities Many clubs are offered at TCC, such as Honors Program, RISE Organization, and Phi Theta Kappa.
Great for these types of students TCC is a good school for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are four outside balcony locations at the Metro campus. Tow of these are located in the student activities building while the other two are located in the Center for Creativity. These places make great outdoor study spots!
Bang for the buck TCC offers high-quality, professional instruction at a low cost compared to universities. This is why many students take their general education classes at TCC before transferring to a university.

Academic Rigor The classes can be very challenging; however, there is always someone around to help students out. The professors are usually much more helpful at TCC because class size never exceeds forty students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Average. It is uncommon for something bad to happen. Notoriously know to be in north Tulsa but it is opposite of what the normal population make it out to be.
Bang for the buck Definitely cheaper than four year colleges. A lot of students from four year schools attend a couple classes here due to less expensive tuition and fees.
What to do for fun Not much around the Northeast campus. Wii game console on wednesdays, occasional free items such as cotton candy and stress balls during finals.
Food and Dining Subway at the Northeast campus is decent. The employees are polite and helps to serve students well.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to talk to more than one person about concerns in future.
In three sentences Good for classes and cost wise. Computers are okay not the best but reliable. Financial aid and tuition questions are hard to answer at certain campuses. Overall good school. Make sure to talk to more than one person about concerns in future.

Categories Comments Food and Dining I haven't ate at the school yet, but smells good..
Dorm Life There aren't dorms, you must live off campus.
In three sentences I have only attended here a week, but I enjoy my classes and think my teachers have been helpful. I don't feel like I have gotten much help with my financial aid issues and never get a straight answer, I'm always told to just check back. In a whole, I rate Tulsa Community College with a 7.5, only because I haven't attended long so don't have much knowledge on school yet, but feel like they could do better job helping new students figure everything out.
