Great for these types of students

Great if you could use a break and some easy college credit.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to go to RateMyProfessors.com before enrolling in classes.

    Bang for the buck

I get school for free because I do community service. If I had to pay I would be very disappointed in the quality of education. For some classes i don't even buy books because I know I wont use them.

    Am enjoying being here

I attend the Southeast Campus and thoroughly enjoy it. It is clean and they have a lot of cool activities. I haven't had any bad experiences while going here.

    Am learning a lot

I was an honors student in high school who came to TCC for the Tulsa Achieves community service program. I don't feel challenged at all but I am the kind of student who likes writing papers and doing homework. If your looking for easy college credit I would go here.

    Bang for the buck

Since the cost of attendance is much less than a tradition four-year college, there is no real issue here. Many of the classes are fully transferable, so its possible to get an associates degree at less than half the cost, then go to a college offering higher degrees knowing that the courses taken previously were sufficient.

    What to do for fun

There are sometimes events in the Y, but nothing very fun. It is interesting watching the ducks though.

    Food and Dining

There is only one restaurant. It is expensive for what it is. There are tons of vending machines and many of them have credit/debit card readers.

    Dorm Life

There are no on-campus living options.

    Academic Rigor

Much of the course material is fairly easy. The only thing that is important is turning assignments in on time and showing up to class to take notes. Studying is also important for tests and quizzes, but it is not too time consuming.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to attend class regularly because many of the instructors give out class participation grades that reflect attendance; not all instructors will let you make up work that was done in-class, so be weary. Make sure you check online to see what your instructor has posted. Most of the professors use the BlackBoard system to communicate with students and post important announcements, such as class cancellations and temporary or permanent room changes. This also includes using your TCC email frequently because that is the instructors' other form of communication. Be sure to keep on top of when financial aid deadlines are. Turn in any documents that are requested through the financial aid office before it gets too close to the beginning of the semester. Your enrollment in classes can be dropped if you do not turn them in on time. Be sure to enroll in classes early as possible to guarantee the most course options and times.

    In three sentences

Qualifying for admission is simple because there are no GPA requirements and ACT score is not required (a placement test can be taken instead). The cost of attendance is much less than a four-year university and they offer courses that are transferable to other colleges. There are helpful academic labs that provide assistance to students struggling on certain topics.

Great for these types of students

This college is great for anyone in my book; as long as the tend to work hard and put in the effort.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to read your syllabus every night because your homework is on there.

    Bang for the buck

The prices are really cheap compared to other campus I have looked at; so if you don't have much money try TCC first.

    Am enjoying being here

The activities here at the West Campus are fun. I have been staying in school longer to have some fun after classes and to do some weight lifting.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot more here at TCC then i did in High School. This college is giving me some challenges and I'm meeting them head on. That's the only way to learn to have a nice challenge and do your best.

Great for these types of students

Students who need a school schedule that will fit into their everyday life.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply as soon as possisble to avoid delays in starting classes and be sure to enroll in classes soon to ensure that you recieve your desired class times.

    Bang for the buck

Coming out of high school, I received a scholarship that covered all of my tuition, which was amazing and I feel that I received a great education.

    Did enjoy being here

Tulsa Community College campuses are clean and convenient. There are several different campuses that offer day and night classes that fit around student's schedules. I enjoyed the institution.

    Did learn a lot

Tulsa Community College professors are very thorough and professional. They helped to make sure that their students understood the coursework and being a community college, we were allowed more one-on-one onteraction with the professors. I feel very confident that I am knowledgeable and that I will be able to succeed at an institution.

    Tips for prospective students

Enrolling early for classes assures you would have the choice of picking your professor... A lot of classes fill up veeeery quick!

    Bang for the buck

That is a greeattt place to take your general education classes and pay much less than when taking them at big 4 year universities... It is worth to go there first, and then transfer to finish your degree somewhere else... Great for people in the Tulsa Achieves program, cause they do not pay the tuition!

    Did enjoy being here

I think that due to the fact that the school is soo big there is no school spirit, like in different junior colleges... Adding college sports would definietly increase the student's interest in connecting more with the school...

    Did learn a lot

Just like every other school, how much you learn in each class depends on the professor. I had the best professors and some that were not too good... Overally it is a great place where you can take your basic classes, and if you enroll early enough (since there is more and more students each semester) also recieve great teachers!

Great for these types of students

Great for parents, adults with full time jobs, young students, or really anyone!

    Tips for prospective students

Wait til you go to class to buy your books!!! Many times you do not need them. If your professor says that you will constantly be doing work out of your book then it would be wise to invest in that book, but if you will only be studying and doing a few assignments don't waste your money. I am pretty sure that all the books are available in the school library to use. You cannot check them out, but you cn study and use them in the library. Also, some books will come with more than one book (costing extra) your professor may say the extra book is not needed. In this case, you can buy a used book, rent or purchase a book online. I made As and Bs my 1st semester in college and I didn't purchase any of my books.

    Bang for the buck

I am struggling to pay for the classes because I do not qualify for FASFA and I am paying for class on my own. TCC is doing little to help me out even though I am making great grades.

    Am enjoying being here

I LOVE the South East Campus! It is large, clean, and has the college atmosphere with super friendly people! I also attend West and Glenpool. West is to much like a high school for my taste. I don't enjoy walking into class and hearing people talk about someone's bad taste in clothes or if they went to the party last weekend. Honestly, I am in college to grow and mature, not spend my time around immature students that choose to party and make bad decisions. The Glenpool campus is a wonderful campus! It is very small and friendly campus! The classes are normally less than fifteen students and everyone is very kind. Glenpool is great if you feel uncomfortable about a lot of people and just want to feel comfortable!

    Am learning a lot

Honestly, most of the information I am currently going over is all review to me. That is not to say that there are not difficult classes. I am just in classes that are review from high school (history, math, biology) It is a great school if you are worried about getting back in the groove. The professors are generally very willing to work with you if you are struggling.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to get involved with your campus. There are so many things that you can do even simply volunteer with something that TCC suggests. There are many excellent classes that I was a part of and my all time favorite was a tie between New Testament at Metro Campus or Intro to Psych at West Campus.

    Bang for the buck

There are many things that you can get involved in for FREE at most campuses. Baptist Collegiate Ministry offers a free lunch Wednesday's at Noon at West Campus and allows you to be involved in so many activities that they offer for the basic 'I am bored and need new friends' college student. Also, you get a free gym membership, many contests to enter with the Student Activities, and so much more!

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy being connected to the West Campus. The other campuses are a lot larger so the small tight nit group at West is valuable for me. It brings a comfort when you see fellow classmates or instructors walking down the hallway asking how are you doing.

    Am learning a lot

I left high school and went straight to TCC on the Tulsa Achieves scholarship. This scholarship allowed me to not only go to school tuition free, but also allowed me and my family to have a stress free 5 semesters without having to worry about finances. There have been wonderful professors in my classes and I have learned more than I could ever ask at TCC.

    Tips for prospective students

Check out a lot of different colleges before you decide to choose just one. Make sure you listen and ask as many questions as possible and research the school before you go to the tours.

    Bang for the buck

I'm not ready to answer this question yet.

    Will enjoy being here

If I do choose to go to college here, I think I will most likely be happy with my choice.

    Will learn a lot

I think this is one of the better college tours I have been on. It isn't my top pick though.

Great for these types of students

High school dual enrolled. First and second year college. Students requiring one basic class because they have changed their major at another university. Non traditional students. Non degree seeking students and undecided degree seeking.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to your advisors and professors, they are there to help you. You can take classes at any of the campuses, don't let the campus location stop you from attending a class you want. That being said, use a 'home' campus: one campus you will take all of your financial aid questions to, bookstore (except online classes must use the Northeast campus bookstore) and facilities. It will make the campus easier to navigate and you will get to know the staff, which always makes for an enjoyable way to resolve issues should they arise.

    Bang for the buck

Intending to transfer to another school I was suprised to find both my 4 year choice and this 2 year college have similar costs for classes. There are more options here than where I hope to graduate from as well as this is significantly closer, which, with todays gas prices equates to cheaper.

    Am enjoying being here

Each campus has various campus activities which everyone is always encouraged to participate. Events are held regularly and fun if you are able to attend; they are geared more towards daytime attendees rather than evening, but not exclusively.

    Am learning a lot

As a non traditional student, I can't relate this to high school. It was too many years ago to compare. The professors are extremely knowledgeable in their subject and available for consult if you need it. It is fantastic preparation for a transfer as well as an in-house associates degree.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't wait until the last minute, because something will go wrong.

    Bang for the buck

The books are REALLY expensive. With out sholarship or parental help most traditional students can not afford the things they will need.

    Am enjoying being here

Great for these types of students

Great for ALL students but especially for people who prefer smaller crowds and a small-town community feel. As an older adult student, I especially believe wholeheartedly that working adults or those who are first time college students and may be a bit apprehensive will benefit from the smaller campus size.

    Tips for prospective students

Feel free to walk around the campus, check out the library, computer labs and book store..browse the aid and job postings available..get a good feel for the class layout. Apply early for loans and grants and touch base with an academic advisor.

    Bang for the buck

I feel that the education one receives at TCC will definitely be worth the money. Tuition is very reasonable and the financial aid department is friendly and helpful.

    Will enjoy being here

I have taken a few spins around the NE campus and I like the updated look, the space, landscaping and easy access. I am signed up for freshman orientation next month and hope to get a proper tour.

    Will learn a lot

Being a community college I believe the stress level, competition and class size will be very manageable for a returning non-traditional adult student. This in turn will give an opportunity to focus on classes in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Concurrent enrollment High School students, Students who just want their basics before transferring, Home school students who are entering a public school for the first time, Students who do not like being in an extremely large class, Students who are on low-income budgets and simply need an education for less money

    Tips for prospective students

Definitely go to www.ratemyprofessor.com and look up the teachers before you pick them. Do NOT wait until last minute to sign up for classes because the best teachers go first!

    Bang for the buck

The books are very expensive but the tuition is pretty cheap.

Great for these types of students

If your determined about getting your basics and succeeding in school, then this is the college for you. Its very laid back and is a campus anybody from any background would enjoy.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you put the time in to talk to someone about what classes to take and make some type of schedule and a college plan for yourself. The administration is not going to go to you. You have to go to them.

    Bang for the buck

I heard that if you have lived in Tulsa your whole life college is free. I'm not sure about that, but since i just moved here, I applied for residency (out of state tuition was TOO much money) and all classes are affordable.

    Am enjoying being here

I like at TCC (southeast campus) Its very pretty and quite. I recently moved to Tulsa so i really didn't know anyone so i joined a club. The BCM club is a BLAST and so are the people.

    Academic Rigor

I'm learning a lot a TCC. Right now i'm taking an old testament class and its so interesting. I'm learning a lot about the bible then i knew before.

In the few semesters I've been enrolled at Tulsa Community College, I feel my eyes are opened up to new things that I never imagined I would accomplish. I recommend T.C.C. to anyone who wants to change their life for the better and have a great sense of accomplishment while doing so.

    Tips for prospective students

I would suggest that anyone who enrolls at Tulsa Community College to be sure and start their Financial Aid Process and apply for admissions as far as three months in advance in order to have plenty of time to prepare for courses and having your classes secured by the Financial Aid department to avoid delays on enrollment etc.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College is a great higher learning institution. T.C.C. has many different areas of study designed for the student to be able to enter the workforce upon completing and internship and graduation. Great for these types of students

anyone just beginning college or returning after being away for awhile.

    What to do for fun

there isn't much to do here for fun, but i have taken advantage of the gym membership. student activities desks are always giving away freebies or discounted movie tickets.

there is only a subway on campus, but it is rather tasty.

    Dorm Life

there is no dorms available, so obviously they can't rank in this category.

    Academic Rigor

i love how the notes are posted online so that you can recap, or if you can't keep up with writing all of the notes in class, which is hard for me to do since my hands always cramp up.

    Tips for prospective students

i would definitely recommend tcc-northeast campus, especially to those who are just starting college. also, i have learned that the most important part of being in college is attendance and participation.

    In three sentences

i really appreciate the time that the teachers offer to their students, even though there are so many. in a class of nearly fifty students, all of my professors remembered my name, which means a lot to me. all of my professors so far have been very thorough with their lectures and make sure to post notes online to refresh each session just in case if you forget your material.

tcc always staffs a campus officer and if you need help to your car or changing a flat, the campus police are glad to help.

    Greek Life

tcc offers a sorority but from my understanding it is very limited and not well known.

    Clubs and Activities

i have only seen a few fliers around campus for any clubs or activities. over the two years i have spent at tcc i have never met a student involved in any club or activity.

Great for these types of students

tcc is great for those students that only need a couple classes to go on to a four year college.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

last semester they held a small independent films festival for adults that was a nice change of pace.

    Bang for the buck

i have not found a college that offers classes for as cheap as tcc but i have also had terrible counseling and the classes are too large to expect any one on one learning. also, the staff in the bursar's office and financial aid office are notorious for their crude acts at tcc.

    What to do for fun

tcc offers very few recreational activities but they do have a pool and arcade room.

    Food and Dining

    Dorm Life

they do not offer dorm living but the metro campus is near some wonderful apartments in tulsa.

    Academic Rigor

the majority of students at tcc that are also enrolled at a university have said the classes at tcc are simpler than those at their university.

    Tips for prospective students

i would advise prospective students to speak with couselors of different institutions over the counselors at tcc. tcc's counselors have misinformed my husband and i multiple times.

    In three sentences

tulsa community college is flexible for students that hold odd schedules. however, tcc is not as suitable for working students as other college's tend to be. many of tcc's online professors still expect each student to spend at least twenty hours a week on their class regardless of how many classes they are enrolled in.

Anyone who loves to meet people will thrive at TCC. The student population is extremely diverse, including people of all ages (some as young as 16 and as old as 75), and all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. For those who want to be invovled in Honors societies but still study in a relaxed environment will be glad to find that TCC does offer a Phi Theta Kappa chapter on every campus as well as a school-wide Honors Scholar Program.

    What to do for fun

TCC is a come-and-go school, but if one wishes to hang around for a time, there are recreational rooms on most campuses. These have arcade games, pool tables, and table tennis. Also, the Student Government and campuses themselves hold events like Wii tournaments, dances, and table tennis tournaments intermittently throughout the semester.

    Food and Dining

TCC has four separate campuses, and each one has one restaurant/cafeteria. Some of the food is restaurant-quality (for example, one campus has a Subway and another has a Bill & Ruth's) and there is a fairly large selection. Of course, since there is only one main place to buy food on each campus the prices are rather high.

    Tips for prospective students

Vet your instructors, make sure they are qualified and reasonable. Enroll early.

    In three sentences

I rate both the education and helpfulness of the administrative staff as fair/average. Instructors are less than dynamic, they know the material, but know less about the value of the material in it's application to real life . Administrative staff are knowledgeable, but could improve quality of customer service, i.e. communication to better understand student questions and needs.

    Clubs and Activities

Tulsa Community College offers a variety of activities and clubs. Also, gives students an option to start their own clubs and organizations.

Great for these types of students

Tulsa Community College is a great option for undecided students (who prefer not to waste money at a big university), parents of young children, adults seeking an associates degree or just picking up a couple classes for their employment, non-degree seeking students who want a certificate in a specialized program, or simply students who prefer to live at home while they earn a degree.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Since TCC is a community college there is not too many unusual traditions. One thing we do every year is a Halloween costume contest where all staff/faculty is encouraged to participate. Each department is urged to dress-up some with themes and others individually. A prize is given to the top dressed contestants.

    Bang for the buck

I am very satisfied with the education that I received from Tulsa Community College, especially with the price of tuition. College can get so expensive, but I have been blessed to have financial aid and scholarship opportunities that have kept me out of debt thus far.

    What to do for fun

All Tulsa Community College campuses have fitness centers that offer group fitness classes. The student activities office did a great job at offering activities such as: Wii Wednesday, BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) luncheon, and holiday events like pumpkin carving and cookie decorating.

Subway was our only dining option at TCC. Although Subway offers great food and prices variety is good also.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at this community college.

    Academic Rigor

This question is subjective. If you attend class because you are ready to learn and you are passionate about learning then academics are not rigorous. Academics, with the right attitude, are challenging-which is exactly how college should be.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not underestimate Tulsa Community College. Apply with an open mind and readiness to learn because you will be prepared for a four year college after attending school here.

Tulsa Community College is a great option for students looking to primarily work for a few years. TCC offers a great amount of online courses which allows for a very flexible schedule. I was able to work quite a bit my first two years, and save up for the school I'm transferring to.

    What to do for fun

One of the things I've enjoyed most about Tulsa Community College is the use of the fitness center. For me, I like to take the free aerobic classes for fun! Of course, there are many other opportunities to participate in, considering it's a public college.

    Food and Dining

Because Tulsa Community College is a commuter school, there is not much opportunity for food & dining. Although there is a small food court at the school's southeast campus, I never was a customer there.

    Dorm Life

Tulsa Community College is a commuter only school, so there are no dorms to rate.

    Academic Rigor

Tulsa Community College actually presented more of an academic challenge than I anticipated. Though I felt like I had control over my classes, the academics were challenging & proved to require dedication & hard work.

    Tips for prospective students

If you're pursuing Tulsa Community College as a potential student, be sure to always ask plenty of questions. One thing I've learned while being at TCC is that no one will just offer you information - you have to probe. Also, if you choose to take online courses (which I highly recommend) be prepared to put in the effort and work hard. Stay in touch with your professors and always keep the lines of communication open.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College offers many great opportunities educationally for students living in the Tulsa area. TCC allows for students who are Tulsa residents to receive full tuition, leaving them to only pay for the cost of course materials. Tulsa Community College is incredibly profitable because it offers very flexible course hours, allowing for the students to complete school at their own pace.

TCC is fantastic about offering their courses at an affordable rate for their wide variety of students. Students have the option of attending class or learning online and going to school part-time or full-time, and with programs like Tulsa Achieves and the Honors Program, students needing financial aid have greater access to TCC courses. Each campus also has a well-maintained fitness center, library, cafeteria, computer lab with free printing services, and several quiet and visually-appealing areas to study.

    What to do for fun

Tulsa Community College consistently offers a diverse set of options for extracurricular activities for the student body, as well as the surrounding community. From guest speakers, to kickboxing, to various clubs set-up on message boards by the students, any student wishing to join an organization just for fun. These activities also typically occur at different times throughout the day to accommodate all types of students.

    Food and Dining

Tulsa Community College does have a food court on each campus, offering a solid variety of options for students. Many students (especially those with afternoon classes) frequent the food court and most have positive reviews regarding the food. The seating areas in each cafeteria are large enough to accommodate a populous student body, and the varying style of tables allows for several dining options, such as eating in large groups or even eating alone.

    Academic Rigor

Tulsa Community College offers a wide range of courses from basic math to Honors Comp. and Statistics. Most classes rank about average with regard to academic rigor, but the honors classes do provide the opportunity for students to take classes with coursework slightly above the average. The professors are typically quite clear on their expectations for the course and all major assignments and exams, so the difficulty of the classes is not terribly high.

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students who live (and have lived in the Tulsa area for at least 2-4 years) should check out the Tulsa Achieves program for an affordable way to enroll at TCC. The Honors Program is also a great way for prospective students to get involved with campus professors and take courses with a more rigorous curriculum than the average class. Since much of TCC also operates online, students should also frequently check their email and Blackboard account to remain up-to-date on assignments and messages from professors.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College is a great junior college for students transitioning from high school to upper-level education. The staff is incredibly friendly and they always try to provide as much assistance to the student as possible. The facilities are easy to navigate and each one offers a myriad of course options for prospective and current students.

Mentioned above, the SE campus (where I take my classes) is booming 90% of the time. If you can't manage your time well I would suggest choosing another campus, or taking online courses. Other than that, if you are motivated to succeed you will overcome any academic rigor.

    Tips for prospective students

The SE campus is the thriving campus for new students. If you like attending seminars, events, and volunteering then this is the campus for you. The other locations are nice, but you get to meet a lot of great people at this location.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College is underrated, in my opinion. Most people jump to conclusions that, since it is a community college, it is cheap low-grade education. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this college a 8.5.

    Campus Safety

There are police officers at each campus, but there are still plenty of crimes that occur at each campus, especially at the one located in downtown. TCC students receive emails for the reported crimes each week. Most of them are petty: larceny, harassment, etc. Nothing has ever happened to me, but I say that West and Southeast campus are the safest.

    Clubs and Activities

There are clubs at TCC, but since it is a commuter college I would imagine that they are small and limited in their activities.

Great for these types of students

The ideal personality/characteristics of someone going to TCC is a college-age/adult part-time worker who plans to transfer to a four year university while saving money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

TCC has five different campus spread throughout the Tulsa area so it iÂ?s fairly flexible in that regard. Southeast is an oval-shaped complex that oversees a brook/pond sort of thing and it's actually quite pretty. Metro is a 6/7 story building in downtown. Some parts of the building have old brick walls and wooded floors, which looks cool. However, the hallways are SO convoluted. It's easy to get lost. Northeast and West are fairly unremarkable, however, There is a new campus in Owasso, but I haven't ever attended it.

    Bang for the buck

TCC is extremely inexpensive for the education and opportunities you are able to receive. Furthermore, they offer a program called Tulsa Achieves. Basically, if you meet some minimum requirements (a decent GPA, for example) and do 40 hours of community service for every fall semester you attend then they will pay for your tuition and fees. Score!

    What to do for fun

The college has a variety of events, clubs, and fun things to do at the campus gym. Southeast, for example, features a full basketball court, running track, rock-climbing wall, and workout machines. It¢s a commuter college so there is fun to be had, but not too much.

    Food and Dining

Each TCC campus location has a Bill & Ruths, which offers subs and sandwiches. The food is not amazing, but it iÃ?Â?Ã?Â?s still fairly tasty.

    Dorm Life

TCC does not offer any student housing.

    Academic Rigor

The Academic Rigor of TCC depends on three primary factors: the teachers, the classes, and whether or not it¢s an Honors course. I'll elaborate on each. Teachers: Depending on the instructor, the classes can either be easy or difficult. Some professors will require more work than others so the difficulty is somewhat arbitrary. Classes: Some classes, Finite Math, for example, are going to be far harder than others like Nutrition or Personal Finance. It just depends. I've had TCC courses that were absolute blow-offs and others that were challenging, beneficial learning experiences. Honors: Honors classes are not necessarily more difficult, but they are more engaging. Hence, some students might consider that a difficulty. Overall, the TCC isn't too hard, but it does tend to lean toward the easy side (just a little bit).

    Tips for prospective students

Tulsa Community College is a great option for students who are looking for an inexpensive, quality education. The school has a huge variety of degree programs, campus locations, and learning resources. If you live in Tulsa and need an Associate's Degree, TCC is the place to be.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College is a great school for people who are looking for an inexpensive, quality education. It's a very flexible College in almost every way: degree plans, campus locations, schedules, etc. If you're looking for a solid school to attend in order to get an Associates Degree, then this is the place to go.

There are many different clubs going on at this school. With all the different locations there are different local things going on in the area.

    Food and Dining

Being multiple campuses there's really no food courts or anything, what places they do have are good though.

    Dorm Life

TCC does not have any dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Not entirely hard classes but depending on the teachers some courses can be challenging.

    Tips for prospective students

It a school designed to work around your schedule. Even if someone were too busy to take on a full load, it is a place you can take a class at a time because the cost to attend is very low.

    In three sentences

Good for people with difficult schedules. Many different major opportunities. There are multiple locations to make it easier to attend.

take really unique courses that may not even show up on the list. Internships in science are amazing there. JPL and in Superconductors.

    Tips for prospective students

Take advantage of Honors classes and the honors scholarship to TU. TCC is great for transfers out to OSU or TU.

    In three sentences

Lacks Job Real World focus but it has some of the most unique niche majors that when you add them to another degree, experience and internships you can get hired and stand out. Classes are generally pretty easy and lack difficulty. It is easy to make a 4.0.

Great for these types of students

    All students.

    Bang for the buck

It is not uncommon to walk out of a classroom building and see a random congregation of students with a boom box and break dancing on cardboard boxes while staff is handing out food and drinks. The theater department also has something always in store, as well.

    Food and Dining

The food there is amazing. I am personally a big fan of the biscuits and gravy in the morning! There is also plenty of healthy options!

    Dorm Life

There is not a dorm for one to live on but plenty of apartments near by with student discounts.

    Tips for prospective students

Go to class, you are paying for it. Ask questions and never feel upset for doing it. Take notes; it is basically like buying a personalized book to learn from, you can keep your notes forever to always keep up with or give them to a friend to help them understand.

    In three sentences

TCC has a great staff. Very clean campus with low crime rates. Small student to teacher ratio for better learning.

    What to do for fun

I love TCC's student activities committee! They always have great things for students, such as breakfast for finals week, fun games for St. Patrick's day, and cultural festivals at the Y.

    Food and Dining

Bill and Ruth's subs are located in the student union. They have a large variety of food and seems like the genuinely enjoy what they do.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't take things lightly just because you're attending a community college. The grades still count and so do the material that you'll be learning for your major. Take careful notes and keep up with homework assignments online. Most importantly, READ. Read any notes that your professor gives you, read your textbooks, and read any assigned chapters.

    In three sentences

Tulsa Community College provides a comfortable, but stimulating, college environment that truly promotes learning. I'm glad I attended TCC before transferring to a larger university because I feel that the professors and instructors really help students (either returning or fresh out of high school) transition into a higher level learning environment. I'll be transferring after the spring of 2014 and I really feel prepared for the university learning experience.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek life. It is a community college.

    Clubs and Activities

I know of the interior design club because I am apart of it. There is also a Phi-Theta Kappa chapter held there which can give leadership opportunities. There are also government clubs, business clubs, etc.

Great for these types of students

People who are trying to go back to school and get their degree, those who have families and need to take minimum number of classes, Single-parents, people who can only attend night classes, or just students like me who have financial issues and need a less expensive community college to attend first.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The Interior Design Club holds an open house every year and raises money for the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation.

    Bang for the buck

Tulsa Community College is definitely worth your money because it offers great benefits for those who can't afford a lot. They have a Tulsa Achieves Program that offers 63 credit hours or 2 years (whichever is met first) for free as long as you volunteer for 40 hours a year and live in the Tulsa County.

    What to do for fun

Since it is a Community College their isn't a lot to do besides get involved in community activities or join clubs. But I found interest in joining the Interior Design Club which was fun.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms. It is a community College

    Academic Rigor

The teachers are very hands on and understand that you have life going on outside of school so they are lenient with things. They also have kids of their own so they work around your schedule because they understand.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to always apply for things early no matter what it may be. If you need to talk to someone in the advisement office (which happens a lot) definitely make sure you give yourself enough time because the lines can get kind of long. Keep track of a schedule and try not to procrastinate.

    In three sentences

A very nice Community College to attend if you are looking for a college that offers financial benefits. Most of the classes are small and the teachers/professors are typically hands on, which I personally love. It is also great to be able to go here while managing your real life outside of it.
