    I would check to see if UAS can offer you all the classes you need for your major. Also if you are applying, look for scholarships where you can find them. It is better to have college paid then have to have student's loans I think.

    Be prepared for snow. In the winter there will be an average of 2-3 feet of snow on the trails and roads. Alaska is used to the weather, so they rarely call in a snow-day. Having a small class (20-30 students) it's easy to talk to the professors. UAS always follows deadlines. They are not lenient when it comes to deadlines, so always be on track with everything!

    This is a good place to go to start your degree program. I recommend getting as many of your generic classes out of the way and then actually talk to the teachers to see what sorts of classes are available that may take you through a degree program to help you find a job in the future.
