» Read MoreDavis is a super cute town. It's not huge and not extremely exciting, but there are always ways to keep occupied and stay involved. Best eats, I would say, are at Burgers & Brew, Woodstocks, Sophia's Thai Kitchen, and Old Teahouse for the sake of convenience and late hours. There are some nice convenient restaurants by the Amtrak station if you want to grab a bite before heading off to home and you don't want to get ripped off on the train. Paesano's is great for a nicer sit-down environment where the prices are reasonable. Best dessert place is definitely the gelato shop by Varsity Theatre. There are a couple movie theaters downtown, but they get crowded ever so often. There are lots of events year-round, and the sports events are all free for Davis students! It's fun to cheer with the Aggie Pack even if you don't know what the heck is going on in the game!
