At UCI, I like going to the school gym which is not far from where I live. The place is massive and there's so many things you can do there--dance, martial arts, swim, and lift weights are some of the things I like to do when I'm here. There are also many locations on campus with pianos, which I liked to use sometimes. There are also many numerous campus clubs to join. You can go to the library to read. You can also go running around the campus which is fun. Honestly though there is not much to do in the community so that's one thing that's lacking at UCI. You could go to the beach though. It's close to Newport beach--about 10 minutes drive away.

UCI has hundreds of extracurricular clubs that students should definitely take advantage of. Also, the school provides a huge gym free to students ( with paid tuition) that definitely motivates many to get in shape. There are sporting events year-round that students can attend to help represent that anteater spirit! When looking for a little outside fun Disneyland, Knott's, 2 shopping centers and Newport Beach are all at about 25 minutes away.

Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and the Angel Stadium of Anaheim are within a 20 minute drive --with traffic--! UCI is within 10 minutes from the coast, Newport Beach being the closest beach. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping areas, movie theaters and more to entertain oneself with.

Ride your bike, study at Starbucks, go to the beach, attend a few bars around the area, and take the bus. Also, the malls near this city are pretty fun and they have a small theatre close to campus. On Tuesdays you can eat at El Torito for Taco Tuesday, it's packed! And join a club so you'll have even more experiences.

Join clubs/organizations. Otherwise, I hope you have a car to get around since this is a commuter school.

I spend a lot of my free time with my friends. I've made amazing friends at UCI and I have the most fun with them whether we're making a run to Cha at 12:50 am, shopping at the Irvine Spectrum, or at a fraternity event in AV.
