Around Town

Make friends and walking around campus, I have come to realize that socializing saves you from homesickness and boredom. Going out to eat in Merced, going to the zoo, fair and theaters. The theaters are almost always empty at night so it is just like a private screening or movie night with your buddies.

Going to the lake, bus ride to Merced Downtown. Road trip to Yosemite or San Francisco.

I am the artistic type so I love to go to Hobby Lobby and buy arts and crafts supplies. I buy canvas in bulk and bought some oil paints and brushes and make sculptures in my art class 3-D Studio Design. I make gifts for my family and friends that I miss back home with fantasy art and sketch anything around me while I wait for the bus to take me to school.

There is no much to do besides the going into town.

over 130 clubs and activities on campus and the downtown itself has standard entertainment in regards to movies and pool halls

There is a near by lake were many go to distress and have a dive.

Different activities are organized by the different clubs and organizations of the school. Some events include, water games, build-a-bobcat, and create-your-own-tshirt. Downtown Merced and Yosemite Lake are also fun places to go to.

For fun? What isn't there to do? The university offers students the opportunity and transportation to explore, to get in touch with nature. Want to go to Yosemite National Park? Just pack your things, hop on a bus, and off you go. Maybe, you want to spend your weekend at the beach? Then join a trip party and discover the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Baseball fan? If there is a Giants game, you can find yourself sitting and cheering on your team. From Circus du Soleil to hiking expeditions. There is plenty to do. The cozy downtown allows you to enjoy theater productions, movies, and diverse fine restaurants. Finally, to get rid of the stress, there are nightclubs for all kinds of people. Whether its some country you're in the mood for, or delicious salsas or cumbias, you can find a place to have fun safely.

In Merced, there is mall where students go often. In downtown Merced, there are two movie theaters, starbucks, coldstone, and lots of great restaurants.

There isn't much to do in Merced. But trust me you'll meet the most amazing people here that will help you enjoy your college experience.
