The beach is literally a 10 minute walk away. There's also downtown La Jolla to explore or downtown SD or Little Italy! Lots of places are easy to get to especially with the bus service that's already been paid for in the tuition!

The beach is right there, so surfing, hanging out at the beach, or even going for a hike is popular and very fun. The campus is enormous and has a lot of recreational facilities so you'll never find yourself bored at UCSD. Always an adventure.

San Diego is known for it's beautiful beaches! With that said, there are a lot of water and outdoor activities such as surfing, stand up paddle boarding, skim boarding, swimming, beach volleyball, etc. UCSD has two gyms and weight rooms with basketball courts and tennis courts. There's also a small rock climbing center located in Warren College that has free rock climbing every first week of the quarter. Lastly, San Diego is packed with fun places to explore such as Old Town, Sea World, Mission Bay, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, and more!

Being so close to the beach, UCSD has a lot of bonfires, beach events, and the like to do in time off. We also have a recreational gym to play most mainstream sports and even sports you didn't know existed. If you don't like having fun, then you could follow the rest of the campus's lead and study on Friday nights. There are rarely shortages of activities though; from clubs to RA's planning events, there's almost always something to do if you really want to do something.

Get involved in the multitude of organizations or create your own organization, and get out and see San Diego in your free time. Beautiful hiking/biking/beach areas within walking distance of the campus.

UCSD has numerous concerts and events to take advantage of throughout the year. Be sure to get involved and not miss out on all the free events! The beach is also less than a 15 minute walk away.

10 mins. away from the beach, what's also great about it is that there is a shuttle that will take you there.

Many frats and sororities if you are interested in them. Plenty of parties on the weekends, and even the weekdays. Because of the size of the school, there are all types of clubs for almost every interest.
