Berkeley is a great school chock full of award-winning, book-publishing, enthusiastic professors who really know their stuff. If you take classes you're really interested in, you'll learn more. Don't forget about office hours, tutoring sessions, and study groups. Besides the required curriculum, there are a whole lot of opportunities to expand your view of the world - theater, symposia, films, lectures, and of course the occasional crazy person giving a speech on Sproul.

    Berkeley challenges you to learn and be proactive about learning by providing rigorous courses. Unfortunately competition within large classes and the challenging course materials often make students focus too much on their grades rather than learning. Nevertheless, I love the diversity of the student body at Cal.

    UC Berkeley is such a diverse campus with so much going on all the time. The students are dedicated to their campus, involved in countless student organizations with the ASUC. The professors and graduate student instructors are all so passionate in their teaching.

    Great campus and nice people, combine that with a top class education and the location and it is a hard school to beat. I visited the campus and even though it is a big school it had a close nit feel to it. The school is just full of school spirit.
