    Great for these types of students

    I think that UCA is great for almost any type of student! The campus is very diverse. It seems like this school offers something for just about everyone.
    Tips for prospective students

    I would recommend that you get a tour of the campus, from a student that goes there if at all possible. Also, go to SOAR (summer orientation advanced registration), it is an amazing experience. Last but not least, if you decide to attend UCA, GET INVOLVED!!! There is so much to do on this campus, you will always have something to do!
    Bang for the buck

    UCA is a wonderful school. As far as Bang for the buck goes, I feel like I am getting what I am paying for. Great faculty and staff, a wonderful campus, and a great college experience make me think i made the right choice to attend this school. In my opinion, UCA is so worth the price I pay to attend.

    I absolutely love it here! The environment, the campus, and the people are so welcoming! UCA has become a home away from home for me. There is always something going on around here to get involved in.I am having the time of my life here at UCA and I am so glad I got the chance to become a UCA BEAR!!
    Am learning a lot

    I am a second semester freshman. In the classes i have taken so far, I have learned so much! The science department here is a really great one. If you are struggling in any of your classes there are people, including your professors that are here and wiling to help you in any way they can. In my opinion, the professors here really seem to want to help you succeed.

    Bang for the buck

    Tuition is not the best but they do offer a lot of scholarships, and the scholarships are increasing as tuition increases, but you have to keep up your grades in order to keep them.
    Am enjoying being here

    The students at the school are very friendly. The school has functions that give new students the chance to interact with other students and faculties so that their stay at the University is good.
    Am learning a lot

    This school has so much you can learn from. Every class I have taken I have learned something from it. The teachers are very passionate about the topic they are teaching and do A good job at it.

    Great for these types of students

    UCA is a great place for people who love meeting new people. There are tons of people on campus who are eager to get to know new people and just have fun. It is also a perfect place for someone who is really serious about their studies. There are faculty members in every department with office hours just to help students who need help or to discuss interests with students who really apply themselves.
    Tips for prospective students

    The two most important things a student can do: Really get involved with organizations on campus, and really apply yourselves in your classes. The former will ensure that you are meeting new people and making the most of your time at UCA. The latter will make certain that you are earning the respect of your teachers and classmates and, most importantly, yourself.
    Bang for the buck

    Tuition is somewhat steep, but not unacceptably so. When you consider how much the campus has to offer (free concerts in the courtyard, a two story gym, free entertainment from some of the best comedians, many different food choices in the Student Center and cafeteria) the price is really worth it.
    Am enjoying being here

    First of all, the campus is gorgeous. Just going for a walk is an enjoyable way to pass the time. Beyond that, there are so many ways for students to get involved. There are student led clubs from Chess Club to Ballroom Dancing Club that allow the students to use their free time doing what they love to do with people who share common interests. There are also things like SAB (student activities board) in which students are encouraged to get involved with the planning and working of the events on campus.
    Am learning a lot

    I am a junior here at the University of Central Arkansas, and it honestly has been one of the best life decisions I've made. I've walked away from ever class that I've taken here at UCA with new knowledge, not only of the subject matter, but also of the world around me. The key is to walk into every class expecting to learn. Believe me, the professors are more than willing to give you the tools that learning requires.

    Great for these types of students

    UCA is great for students who are eager to learn, and especially for those who are going into the medical field. Be sure to be on your P's & Q's and it will take you far!
    Tips for prospective students

    If you are looking into attending UCA, you are already on the rite track. Although you are coming to obtain an education beware the temptation. Always remember to be on time for class and attend as MUCH as possible. Also study hard and remeber whats important, and lastly get involved in as much as possible and make new friends.

    Since i have been apart of the UCA family I have been exposed to the best! Never is there a dull moment. From the class room activities, to the dancing on the yard, even to the pranks in the dorm, it is all spontaneous.

    Hands down, UCA is one of the best schools as far as education goes. In each class you will feel the desire to learn because the instructors ensure that.

    Bang for the buck

    It is fairly expensive but it is also the only school in Arkansas that offers a Physical Therapy Doctorate, so in my opinion it is worth the money.
    Will enjoy being here

    Conway, AR. is a pretty big town with plenty to do.
    Will learn a lot

    I plan on getting my Physical Therapy Doctorate here, just the fact that they offer a Physical Therapy Doctorate tells me something about their emphasis on education.

    It's kind of hard to get your financial aid. I know that there is a lot of money out there for me to get. I have to find a way to pay for a wonderful school that I know I will love!

    I love this University! At first I thought that I wouldn't be able to leave home, but I feel very comfortable with this college. It is very important for me to be comfortable.
    Will learn a lot

    I believe that I will learn absolutely everything I want to know and more. UCA is known for a great academic program and that is what I was drawn too.

    I think UCA was a great college. They got a new business building and good environment around the campus. I have been attend their bear facts day and it was pretty awesome.

    UCA is good for students who want to be close to an urban area, but not necessarily live in it. It's also good for students that like a calm, relaxed environment.

    Don't skip class! Its a black hole to destruction.
    Bang for the buck

    For the most part, everything is worth it. Raised tuition for the new striped turf on the football field is slightly irritating, as well as some of the fees every student pays for things they will never use, but tuition is still relatively lower than those other colleges have.

    UCA is a wonderful campus that is calm, but not too calm, and all my classes have been comfortable environments with good professors.
    Am learning a lot

    All of the professors I've had (apart from one) have been extremely helpful and are excellent at teaching.

    Get bearbucks. The cafeteria is good, But can get tiresome. The student center has great food and places to eat, plus theres a starbucks.

    Pretty dang hard if you ask me, and I was a 4.0 honors student lol. But doesn't mean I didn't get help to pass.

    BUY RAINBOOTS! The campus floods pretty bad. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even after class. Always get help from the writing center for essays.

    The campus is absolutely gorgeous, perfect for those from a small town or a big town wanting to size down. If anyone is struggling in anyway the professors are always willing to help, but only if you ask.

    bang for the buck overall is pretty average at the university of central arkansas. the rental housing off campus is very well priced and the food is reasonable.
    What to do for fun

    the typical fun at the university of central arkansas includes student activities, such as greek life. there are many other activities one may get involved in, but overall, greek life provides great opportunities to make one's resume more hearty.

    the university of central arkansas has many food choices in many different areas around campus. the new college of business building even has a java city in the student commons. the food selection is diverse in all of the different places foods are served.
    Dorm Life

    although the options for dorm life are very diverse, the pricing and the placements of the dorms on campus are not great. the school requires the dorm students to purchase a plan as well that requires them to spend a certain amount of money on campus. this can be very frustrating, or it can be a good thing, based on your predicament.
    Academic Rigor

    most of the students that attend the university of central arkansas are geared towards earning their degree and building a hearty resume in the process via internships and school activities. like any normal college campus, there will be the occasional college student who does not have a care in the world about their studies. these are the people who drop out of school within the first of a few semesters.

    when attending uca, get involved in school related functions. the school activities allow one to make new friends and to build a hearty resume. community service and fun in one package can be hard to refuse.

    i don't really do much, i study. i never stay here on weekends because my friends are at different colleges.

    the food at the cafeteria is hardly good except breakfast. the student center has many choices to offer though.

    meeting people is okay but it's harder to establish relationships with the people on a daily basis.

    definite studying is needed to achieve a favorable gpa.

    be certain that uca is the college that you want to attend. the academics are very informational, but you need to be sure you have a support system if you are going to be away from home.

    i thought people here would be more friendly and easy to talk to but they aren't. i miss my friends and family that are two hours away and haven't been able to make any friends here. i changed my major and all of my credits got messed up and i can't keep my scholarship even with a 4.0 to study radiology here without transferring.

    I was afraid that when I came to college I wouldn't feel as safe here as I do at home. It turns out though that this can't be further from the truth. I feel super safe here at UCA! The campus is super well lit and I really don't mind walking around campus at night. I love how safe I feel on this campus.
    Greek Life

    I love being a part of Greek Life. We have a ton of different sororities and fraternities to fit anyone's needs. We have nice All Greek things like Greek Weekend and All-Greek Step Show. It's definitely a fun thing to be involved in.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are so many different things to be involved with here on campus. From greek life to sociology club. There are so many different things that you can get involved in with a ton of Registered Student Organizations like service clubs and religious campus ministries. You are sure to find where you belong at UCA.

    People who want to go to college in a suburban setting, people from smaller towns (Conway is not that big of an adjustment after you have been here a while)

    Not anything unusual that I am aware of.

    Some people consider it too high. But for the amount of fun things to do, the quality of the teachers, and the scenery I think it's worth it.
    What to do for fun

    Sports games (We have a lot of different sports teams such as Football, Men and Women's Basketball, Softball, Baseball, et cetera. SAB activities, Student Activities Board puts on so many fun things all the time like Build A Bear and Spring Fling to name a few. Clubs, like Greek Life and Intramural teams. Going to Theatre shows put on by the theatre department.
    Food and Dining

    Lots of different places to eat on campus. Get the meal plan that will allow you to eat in the SC. Unlimited Cafeteria may sound amazing, but trust me you'd rather be able to eat in the SC too!
    Dorm Life

    Dorms are great, annoying sometimes, but I love my dorm family! It is definitely an experience worth having, don't get out of at least one year of it if you don't have to.
    Academic Rigor

    Some classes are harder than others, but you will be challenged in every course you take at some point. Teachers are amazing. If you study, you will succeed!
    Tips for prospective students

    Don't be a slacker, work hard! This is super important, it seems fun to party away your days, but you really need to focus on school as much as possible. Education first, fun later!

    This campus is very safe. There is always people around to help if you need it. Also, the campus police are always driving around making sure everything is running smoothly.

    There are lots and lots of Greeks. They are always seen on campus and on the yard performing. They are very friendly and like to try to recruit people. I would love to join one.

    There are so many clubs on campus( to many to name). They are filled with friendly people and they welcome you with open arms. Also, there is never a dull moment on campus there is always some type of activity taking place.

    I think the UCA clothing in the book store is a little over priced, but other than that the prices of everything else is normal.

    They have different shows on campus, movie nights, carnivals etc. Most of the time you will receive emails with different on campus activities that you can attend.

    The food on campus is great. There is food that we all love to eat like french fries etc , but they also have many healthy choices as well. I think a new student center should be added so the students will have a wider variety.

    The dorms are great. The rooms are bigger than the rooms of other colleges that I have toured. Also there are a variety of places you have to choose from.

    Some classes are difficult ,but not so hard where you are will to quit. I like the fact that the courses are a little bit of a challenge it makes me feel like I am learning something.

    Tips for prospective students are be open to meeting new people. There are a lot of people on this campus from different parts of the world that are very helpful and looking for friends. Also, stay on task and do not fall behind once you fall behind it is hard to catch up.

    UCA is definitely worth the price! I've had an amazing time here, and it just keeps getting better! You learn so much, meet so many new people, and the faculty, staff, and students alike here are so welcoming!

    There are so many activities going on around here all the time! It's so much fun and there are so many new people here for you to meet so have fun, meet new people, and get involved!

    So far, all my professors are really helpful and I've already learned a lot! The professors seem to really want to help you out if you ever need it and are so friendly.

    UCA has proven to be outstanding in all areas. Their financial aid office goes above and beyond to assist their students. They are the only college in the state of Arkansas to offer the Addiction Studies program.

    There is a police station on campus, so there's always help nearby! They are also there to help with car troubles. They will jumpstart cars and such and they respond quickly!

    Science majors will feel at home here, but business majors will also like the new business building just built.

    The Undie Run! Before midterms or finals, everyone strips down to their underwear and runs around campus and through the library!

    I think the University of Central Arkansas is a little pricey, it's no bargain, but you're also getting quality, so there's nothing to complain about!
    What to do for fun

    There are a lot of intramural sports teams, clubs to join, band concerts, movie showings, and festivities the campus provides! There's always stuff to do.
    Food and Dining

    The cafeteria rotated their food schedules a lot, but it was generally good! There are also restaurants on campus, Chick-fil-a, Quiznos, Pizza Hut, and a ton of choices around campus! So you're never out of options.
    Dorm Life

    I stayed in one of nicer dorms, but the dorms are always clean. Even though we had communal bathrooms, it was private and comfortable!
    Academic Rigor

    It's challenging, but in the best way! You study to review what you learned in class, not to teach yourself, which is how it's supposed to be!
    Tips for prospective students

    Study hard because the teachers expect you to learn, and learn well. If you're planning on getting a biology or science degree, go to the University of Central Arkansas because they are renowned for the science department.

    The University of Central Arkansas has a dedicated staff, challenging curriculum, and a welcoming campus. It has taught me more than I could have ever expected, and I plan on returning next semester. I couldn't have imagine a better university experience.

    What to do for fun

    There are parties about every weekend, but there are also a lot of great RSO's that you can join and have fun with. As well as little scheduled events throughout the year.
    Food and Dining

    The Student Center always had good choices if you had prepaid money on your card, but the cafeteria was a good go to place as well. They had the basic staple items.
    Dorm Life

    My dorm experience was okay but I enjoy living in my own apartment much more. It was nice to have neighbors that you see everyday though.

    Classes aren't too hard, but some require a lot of work.

    Always go to class! Social time is important but the classes will get you into the real world!

    I ALWAYS feel safe at UCA.

    I am a little disappointed that the sports fees continue to rise each year for students (especially if you can't attend every game or if you don't play a sport) However, I know that the school has to have money to pay their own bills, it just seems to go up and up and up each year.
    What to do for fun

    There is a lot going on in and around UCA. From sports events to Conway life there are plenty of free activities for fun! You just have to pay attention to your inbox. SGA emails students daily about fun events and more often than not, the events are free!! Can't beat that!
    Food and Dining

    The BEST college cafeteria!
    Dorm Life

    UCA wants to make sure that students feel like they're a part of a community while in a dorm and they do a great job of that!

    We have our own campus police station with at least 100 cops.... NEED I SAY MORE???
    Greek Life

    I personally am not in Greek life but I am friends with many of the people that are and it is an amazing lifestyle. There are the fun parties and activities within Greek life but they also require you to have certain amounts of library hours every week so that you keep up with your academics. Greek Village is being built right now which is a new housing subdivision where all the Greek's will have houses right there together on like their own little campus instead of being spread out everywhere.

    SAB Greek Life Any christian organizations ETC.... There are so many activities that I cant even think of all of them.

    UCA IS GREAT FOR EVERYONE! YOU BELONG AT UCA is our slogan and it fits every student interested in attending.

    Every semester during exam week there is an Undie Run where everyone that wants to participate, strips down to their Undies and you run all around campus. Girls and Guys are allowed to participate. Its a fun break from studying for exams to just relax and enjoy a good laugh.

    You get a lot for your money. Though the college tuition is kind of expensive, it is worth it completely. Financial aid also helps you by giving you as much excess aid as they can to help you pay for a wonderful college experience. Don't let lack of money keep you from getting a good quality education, and a place to make friends for life.
    What to do for fun

    There is so many activities on campus to do so that you are never bored. We have SAB (Student activities board) that plans all sorts of fun movie nights and comedians to come and perform. There are lots of parties and Greek life activities also. The RA's of every dorm plan little activities that you can do within your residence hall.
    Food and Dining

    Their food is amazing in the cafeteria and in the student center! I reccomend the pasta lady in the cafeteria. She is so sweet and she is such an amazing cook. There is also a deli bar, a salad bar, home cooked food, pizza and much more to choose from in the cafeteria. In the student center we have quiz-nos, chick-fil-a, Grill works, pizza hut, and a sushi place. There is also an Einsteins Brothers, Starbucks, and Java City on campus.
    Dorm Life

    All the dorms are nice and clean. They are nice in size and they pick your roommates pretty well if you do random roommates. You also have the option of which dorm you want and also the choice of your roommate! It is an excellent place to call home

    The Staff is amazing. There are so many resources on campus that help you out when you're struggling in a class. We have tutoring labs, a writing center, and many other excellent sources for help.

    1. Get your financial aid done before school starts so that you are on time and don't have to wait for the aid to purchase your books. 2. Get your books as early as possible, it is okay to rent your books, its cheaper and easier! 3. Check student accounts and financial aid during welcome week so that you can make sure all scholarships, and aid are in order. 4. Make sure to go by the post office and rent out a mailbox. Its already paid for in tuition so you might as well use it.

    The campus police are everywhere you go. They also hold programs teaching you self defense and how to be safety smart on campus. I feel right at home because of them.

    I am not Greek but I have been to several Greek functions. Greek life on campus is very laid back. They really do make an effort to have fun events everyone can enjoy. They also are very helpful and friendy. The Greeks are just an overall good part of the student body.

    I think for the low cost of this college you are getting that big school feel on a smaller level. The classes aren't huge so you get more one on one time with your professors which really helps. Overall if you apply yourself the academic challenge is pretty manageable.

    Conway is a college town so it has alot of fun things to do. The college itself has alot of student life activities that range from intramurals to movie watching. There's something for everybody at UCA.

    In my opinion, the food is either really great or not good at all. For how much the meals cost, plain white rice is served far too often. Also, the cafeteria hours are not the best fit for college students. For example, you cannot enter the cafeteria after 6 pm on Fridays, which is when dinner usually starts for college students. However, one great advantage is the ice cream bar if you can catch it while it's open.
    Dorm Life

    There are always things going on in dorm life. I lived in the STEM Residential College which is for Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics majors and is located in Arkansas Hall. There were constantly events such as parties for the residents and community outreach projects to get involved.
    Academic Rigor

    I have had great professors and not-so-great professors at UCA, but the classes will be what you make of them. So far, I have had to work for an A in all of my classes, and I most enjoyed the ones in which I was challenged. The courses above general education courses that I have taken have been rigorous, and I have learned a lot.

    Do not take the easy classes. You're paying for a higher education, and you should get your money's worth. Challenge yourself, and grow while you're at college!

    The university has their own police department on campus, and four officers are on patrol at night. If someone needs to be walked back to their dorm, they just call UCA police number and an officer will escort them home. If you are concerned about an electronic device being stolen, you can register its serial number and a brief description with the UCA police department.

    Greek life is popular at UCA. Sororities meet on a weekly basis and they always have activities and parties going on.

    So, there's a cafeteria with a wonderful group of works that make amazing food, including what ever is on the special menu, 3 different types of pizza, excellent dessert, ice cream on certain times, a salad and fruit bar, and even drinks like soda from the machine or milk out of the machine. As well as that, there's restaurants you can eat at too! And a store, for when you just want something not in the center or cafe. Oh, and there's a Starbucks on campus!

At present, we have deferred recruitment, which means that you cannot go through formal recruitment (rush) until the second semester of your freshman year. This is such a positive thing because it really gives you a chance to assimilate to the UCA community, and make yourself feel at home before jumping into something that you may be on the fence about doing. Also, our football team is awesome! We have an all-around great athletic program. Come out to the football games and you can tailgate before with Alumni, Greeks, Clubs, and all of your friends!

    The food is really great! The only downside is that the hours of the cafeteria does not always work for everyone. I would say that the Block Meal Plan is definitely the best option for Freshmen, but keep in mind that you will not always eat every single meal on campus- Conway has great food!

    I am a Sophomore and still live on campus. I absolutely love the dorm and all of the people on my floor. I have had such a positive experience, even when I have had troubles with roommates. Everyone here is so willing to help you.

    You should definitely study for everything and always do your assignments on time. Teachers are willing to work with you, but you have to do your part.

    There are tons of options to choose from in the cafeteria, but it would be nice to have more healthy options. Not to mention the great options in the Student Center and Starbucks is on the meal plan (who could ask for more)!

    Greek life is not big here. It is very laid back and most the people that are greek are nice and just like everybody else.
    What to do for fun

    There are always games going down in the HYPR. Its fun to go watch or play. My dorm always has a fun activity going down in the common room, like movie or dance games. The Student Center shows movies that are not out on DVD yet, ever Sunday.
    Food and Dining

    The cafe is alright. There aren't very many choices for a hot meal. They server the hot meal and a veggie meal. There is a pizza line, salad bar, stir fry, sandwich bar, and desert line.
    Dorm Life

    I stay in Bernard right now and it is very clean and nice. It doesn't seem old at all. The rooms are pretty big for a dorm room and each room has its own sink, which is nice. The rooms come with a bed, desk and chair, and a closet. Definitely bring your own desk chair because the one UCA provides are like the school desk chairs you get in high school.
    Academic Rigor

    The classes at UCA are smaller than they would be at a bigger college. My biggest class is about 30 people. The classes are more engaged and I like that about UCA.
    Tips for prospective students

    You do not have to be nervous. No one will judge you and if you need help you can literally ask anyone around and they will help you. The school is strict about skipping class so don't come in thinking you can go to class once a week.

    UCA has lots of things constantly going on. They have all sorts of tournaments from basketball, dodge ball, flag football, and volleyball. They also have things like casino night, foam parties, and paint wars. For those that aren't as outgoing, they have events like poetry night, movie sunday, and concerts.

    UCA has a cafeteria and a student center. The student center consists of Quizno's, Chick fil A, Moo Yah Burgers, Pizza Hut, and Sushi Bar. There is also a convenience store and Einstein's coffee. Our cafeteria serves all day and the variety of food is great. They have their main serving line with foods that would be considered home cooked. They also have a pizza bar, salad bar, burger bar, omelet bar, sandwich bar, stir fry, and dessert bar.
    Dorm Life

    The dorm life at UCA is wonderful! My dorm is like our own little family. We keep our doors open for people to stop by and visit. Also we do activities, weekly, together and our RAs are like older siblings to us. Also, the dorms are kept well clean and not a lot of noise disturbance which is great.

    Everyone has been told that college is not like high school and it is true. The classes are challenging but UCA provides lots of help. They have college dorms that have learning assists to tutor. The library also has great resources for extra help and there is a writing center on campus. Also the professors are really open and encourage their students to come see them for extra assistance.

    If you decide to come to UCA, make sure you jump into all the things offered at UCA at the beginning. It gives you a chance to meet people and see what interests you for the future.

    The campus safety appeared to be quite good. I was told there are always cops on campus who also work in the community so they are real cops and not just security guards.

    There was a plethora of clubs and activities presented to me while i was visiting the UCA campus, i was very impressed with the way that there was basically a club/activity for any personality.
    What to do for fun

    On my visit i gathered that there are many clubs and organizations you can join in order to be more involved on campus and in the community. Also Conway is a pretty large town which probably has many things to do for fun and Little Rock is only about a half hour away.

    I got to eat lunch in the cafeteria when i visited the campus and the food was great! I am coming from a school with terrible food, but this food was very good. There was a variety of food to choose from and all of it looked quite tasty.

    The medical field i am going into requires a large work load and I know that it will be challenging to me, but I liked the fact that the school provides people to help you study and work on essays and stuff. The teachers also seemed skilled and helpful, they answered all questions me and my parents asked.

    UCA is a little sketchy at night due to being so close to Little Rock, but overall I've never felt like I was in any real danger.
    Greek Life

    I'm personally not involved in Greek Life, but they're about to develop a new Greek Village. There are currently off campus frat houses, but no sorority houses except the sorority dorm Carmichael Hall.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are over 300 Registered Student Organizations on campus. You can always create your own too!
    Great for these types of students

    UCA is great for someone wanting a smaller school with a great college atmosphere. It's very laid back, but still good for studying.

    There's a free observatory night every few weeks in Lewis. The football field is purple and grey striped.

    It's less expensive, and less preppy than UA. It is a much bigger college town than some of the other smaller schools in AR.

    Take advantage of all the free stuff that comes to campus! There's a bowling alley, movie theater, and several lakes near Conway. Little Rock isn't far for great shopping.

    Aramark is a pain. The food choices are great, but the lines get congested.

    I always lived in the Honors College dorm. Farris is AMAZING.

    The education program is very easy. Science classes are very tough. Competition for grad programs is high.

    Apply for scholarships! Live in a residential college, and go to the gym daily (They are currently renovating it)!

    You can choose either the cafeteria that is buffet style or go to the student center which has fast food restaurants and a c-store which is a small grocery store.

    UCA offers Residential College which are dorms which have classes inside them. This might not seem that important, but when you have to wake up at 8am for class, you'll appreciate it.

    I didn't really get out much, but there is a movie theater near-by. Mostly, I went to Bear's Den for the pizza and to hang out with my friends.

    It depends on what dorm you stay in. I stayed in Carmichael Hall and it really wasn't an enjoyable experience.

Their good letters and information guides have brought enthusiasm into me, that i decided to attend this university.
