The Ghetto! Dayton also has a lot of unique opportunities if you get off campus, like Second Street Market, the metro parks and outdoor rec facilities and different classes and events in the Oregon district. On campus, you can check out a rec bike for the day or check out gear from the rec program, go rock climbing on our rock wall, go swimming or sun bathe in the warmer months.

The city of Dayton is rather close, so there is plenty to do.

Tim's is popular on Thursday's as it will allow 18 year olds to come in, the ghetto (student neighborhood) always has parties on the weekend where you can walk up to any random strangers house and mingle. Art Street will also have events going on and has the most delicious smoothies in their cafe. There are campus run events on random weekday's, and if you have a car or know someone who has a car, there are cinemas and clubs downtown.

The campus activity board (CAB) is constantly putting on things to do on the weekend. The Hanger is available for students to watch t.v. (sports games or movies...etc. ) in big comfy chairs or get in a game of bowling. There is rock climbing in the recently added rec center and a plethora of intramurals, which are played on the 4 turf fields out front of Stewart hall, on the 4 new basketball courts, or in the pool- equipped with large hot tub and diving board. Dorms are always putting on community events (free food, movies, or shows). In addition to University run activities, Dayton is known for its open house parties, where typically everyone is welcome free of charge. Also, it is free to attend all athletic events accept basketball (which is $35 a season).

There is a lot to do for fun around campus. Intramurals were my favorite. Not only that, but the school offers movie nights and other on campus activities for the weekend. However, if you're more into having the college experience, the student neighborhood gives you just that.

They are a lot of clubs and inter-murals to get involved in at Dayton. No one really leaves campus on the weekends, because everyone loves campus and there is plenty of activities to do that will keep you busy enough. There is a party scene, as like all schools, but you don't have to participate in it if you choose not to because there is already a lot to do.

Aside from the ghetto on the weekends, the RecPlex is a great place to go play basketball, dodgeball, etc. Stuart Field is usually available to play a pickup soccer or softball game. Brown Street is also a great place to grab lunch or dinner with friends.

There are plenty of different things to get involved in. Be sure to go to Up the Orgs every year. It is a great way to discover all that the campus has to offer.

The city of Dayton has events that university organizations provide transportation to throughout the year, but the majority of activities that students participate in are on campus, such as: free sports games, intramural sports leagues, clubs/ organizations, as well as responsible partying in the student neighborhood (campus-owned houses that upperclassmen live in).
