Events in the past have included brining a comedian to campus, movie nights, and special event nights just for freshmen. There are minor league hockey and baseball teams locally. Every Thursday night a movie is shown either on an inflatable screen in the center of campus or in Eykamp Hall if the weather is too uncomfortable. Different organizations sponsor activities on the weekend such as fashion shows, talent shows, choral concerts, international bizarres (where ethnic food can be sampled from around the world), rollerblading, etc.. Off campus there are an ice-skating rink, several movie theaters, a zoo, and a large indoor rock climbing facility where people go on the weekends. Of course there are also parties, but most people partake in other fun activities that do not involve the raising of your blood alcohol level.
