Around Town

Hang around the quad, go to parties all down Milledge, go downtown to shop during te day or go to bars at night, go to performances at the arts building, go to greek events, see pre-screening of movies at Tate (I saw movies before they hit theaters!).

Go downtown! That's where all the social stuff happens! Go to the football games, and to school sponsored events!

Athens is full of amazing one of a kind restaurants. The University of Georgia is very enthusiastic about their sporting events such as football, basketball and gymnastics. Athens has many unique stores and there is always a concert to go to in town.

Join clubs, fraternities/ sororities, intramural teams, explore Athens

Intramural sports is a great way to have fun while also keeping active. You can even go off campus to go to the golf course on a nice warm day. You can even go see a movie at one of the theaters nearby. But fun depends on what your personality is. Downtown Athens attracts all kinds of people. Bars and music and a bunch of people having fun can be seen on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights downtown. Fraternities also host several parties throughout the year. Legion Pool also offers several events for people to attend with food and music. Fun can be found everywhere around campus.

There are so many activities connected to the school and so many different types of people. Ramsey is a good place to start for student activities!

Athens is so fun and lively -- even for underage students! There are so many thrift shops, theaters, festivals and planned activities, plus a HUGE music scene!

Go downtown, or join a sorority/fraternity.

This is RIGHT in the middle of a downtown. It's not too big though, and it's got a nice crowded feel...nothing New York-ish.

Whatever you want! From Intramural to studying, to reading on north campus. I never had a lull in my day.
