“Its a great way to make lots of new friends. Plus you get to live near downtown Chicago. Big rooms with great views!…”
“Dorm life is amazing. It is the best way to create new friendships. …”
“Because I am a commuter, I don't live in a dorm, but from what I hear, the dorms in the Commons aren't that great. The only good dorms are located…”
“I haven't personally lived in the dorms, but lease an apartment near the school. It's mainly a commuter school so you'll meet a lot of people from the suburbs, but…”
“i was a commuter.…”
Variety of foods choices. School puts effort to create different meals everyday. Overall is great.
» Read MoreTypical cafeteria food. Nothing special with traditional menu and items.
» Read MoreFood at the school is just average. We have an Au Bon Pain in the Behavioral Sciences Building and a Dunkin Donuts in the Student Center. But all of the food AROUND the school is amazing. Lots of ethnic cuisine in the nearby neighborhoods, with Greektown and Little Italy surrounding the school. Go a bit farther and there's Pilsen for amazing and cheap Mexican food. And go just a little bit farther and there's just loads you can find in the city.
» Read MoreThere are not many healthy options available but the inner circle is nice for when it's cold and rainy outside.
» Read MoreNormally I would expect cafeteria food to be repulsive, but here at UIC that is not the case. Of course there are days where the meals are not at best quality, but in general the dining services here offer delicious food. Almost every week a different culinary theme is picked, offering a unique dish for students to try.
» Read MoreThe dining halls are good and offer a wide range of food. It is cafeteria food so you can't expect anything amazing, but it is consistent.
» Read MoreAgain, I almost never eat on campus but I've heard pretty good things.
» Read MoreThere's places for everyone around campus from cafes to restaurants, it's a matter of finding something you like.
» Read MoreGreat selection of fast food places in and near by the campus and other sit in food stops nearby as well.
» Read MoreLots of restaurants around campus and on campus we have cafeterias and little convenience stores that have sushi, fresh soup. Also in the inner circle we have Wendy's and Subway.
» Read MoreThere are some sororities and frats, a lot of them for business or ethnicities though. It's all about testing the waters are finding people you really connect with. I've heard some sororities and frats unofficially live together in rental houses or apartments, but they don't have official frat houses or anything on campus.
» Read MoreHaving personally joined a Fraternity here on campus, I can honestly it's one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Both brotherhood and sisterhood alike are rampant at this college. In general, the Greek community here at UIC offers not only a great social life, but also a chance to make friends that will last a lifetime.
» Read MoreThe greek life is existent, but it is not as big or apparent as it could be. This has to do with being a city campus school.
» Read MoreI am not a part of greek life but I know people who are and they love it here so go crazy!.
» Read MoreIt's exclusive once you get in, but it is open to all students who wish to join.
» Read MoreWe do have a Greek system but I don't think that we have Frat houses.
» Read MoreYes - I didn't get involved though so I don't have much to say there.
» Read MoreI do not participate in Greek activities.
» Read MoreThere is greek life but it's different than your ordinary greek life. There isn't usually a big house or a greek row but they will use someone's apartment (usually the president's) as a home base.
» Read MoreNothing I wanted to join.
