There's a lot to do for fun. Orange Krush and Block-I are great way to get involved with the sports. There are a lot of clubs and organization that you can join to make friends and have fun. Of course there are parties and stuff which is always fun. You will never be bored unless you stay inside.

Go out to the bars, which are 19 and up. Hang out at the Greek houses. Bowling alley, pool tables, gaming consoles and arcade games are all down in the Union. The University also hosts movies on the quad and concerts. Can't forget the tailgating during football season!!

Like I said earlier, take advantage of the free things that U of I has to offer. Join clubs on Quad Day because they always give you free stuff. You can unjoin later. Most of my close friends I gained by joining an environmental club. One of my favorite things to do as an escape from campus was to go to Kickapoo state park. You can kayak, tube, hike, and ride horses there! As a note of caution, the bars in Champaign will let you in when you turn 19, but be careful. This means it is really easy to get a drinking ticket. A cop can give you one in a bar for just being within arms reach of a drink. Being able to get in at 19 does give you access to a lot of fun venues though, like dance bars and great pubs to hang with your friends.

Some of the activities to do for fun are joining an intramural sport team, go to the gym, join clubs, or just relax on the main quad and communicate with others.

For fun, most students like to go out on the weekends to the local bars and just let loose. There are many bars that are 19+, so many freshmen can even go to them. Other fun activities include rock climbing, swimming pools, hot tubs, bowling, and an arcade at the Union.

You can hang out on the quad on a nice day, go bowling in the union, grab a bite to eat on Green St, hang with friends in someone's dorm, rent video games or movies from the library, and much more!

GO OUT AND HAVE FUN! Meet new people. You will never have another time in your life to do this, enjoy it while you can, but don't get carried away. That Monday exam may seem far away when there is a huge party on Friday night, but trust me, Sunday cram sessions NEVER work. Stay in and study, I promise there will be plenty more opportunities for fun next weekend.

Get involved in RSOs (Registered Student Organizations)! I've gone on really fun trips with clubs, such as going to Curtis Orchard with the Octobers Lovers Club. Of course, there is also going to bars (you can get in if you're at least 19), but my best memories have been through hanging out with my friends I met through clubs/doing club activities.

There are many things to do here for fun. There is the Illini Union building where you can find a game room, pool tables, and bowling. There is also a skating arena, soccer fields, gym courts, tennis courts, and the list goes on.
