The surrounding areas of DC (where the metro can daily lead you) and Silver Springs (only a bus ride away) are great escapes too. A lot of on campus events are free too! You don't pay for any of the games, and I saw Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother free also.

» Read MoreThere are plenty of things to do for fun here! As I mentioned earlier, one thing to do is to go see a performance at CSPAC! Another thing that is great about this campus is that it is only 20 minutes away from DC and the College Park Metro is a 5 minute shuttle ride from campus. There are over 200 clubs and organizations on campus. I would say that only about 100 of the clubs are active. Most of them tend to throw either free or cheap events at some point during the year. Route 1 is right next to campus so a variety of good restaurants are available to eat at. We also have a great rec center on North Campus that has racquetball courts, an Olympic-size swimming pool, climbing walls, and basketball courts. The Stamp Student Union usually has events going on during the weekend as well. There is definitely always something to do on campus
