UMass is a big school, and it feels like it. Even with over 200 registered student organizations on campus, it can still be hard to find where you belong. The administration does not put students first, and often it feels like more of a corporation than a college.

» Read MoreUMass Amherst with its diverse campus and plethora of student activities really has something to offer everyone. There are just so many different types of students and opportunities available from honor societies to intermurals to an extensive Greek life program that it is very easy to find a niche and people with similar interests as yourself. Through hallway events freshman year and campus sponsored activities I have made some deep friendships and have enjoyed everyday of my college experience despite the coursework. The university really puts in effort to put on quality campus events such as Morning Mixers, activity expos, and various shows and dances that are really a blast if you take advantage of them.

There is pretty much a club for any type of interest you may have, and if there isn't, you can easily start one! There is never a dull moment on campus and always so many events to attend such as a volleyball game on Southwest Beach, a concert, or community service opportunity.
» Read MoreAlthough I always thought I would be going to a small school, after visiting I was no longer afraid, per se, of going to a school as large as Umass Amherst. It is almost like a city, in that there are always places to go and things to do, but it seems small and intimate enough that you will never feel lost or out of place. There are also two bustling, beautiful collegetowns nearby.
