The University is great at having activities to do for the students. From movie nights to live performances, I don't think there is a dull week here. Even if its blizzarding out and below freezing, upperclassmen will have their hot chocolate movie nights for those of us missing a cold day at home. If you want to venture out past the campus grounds, your closest destination would be the mountains, and either sledding, or participating in a snow sport. Lake Tahoe, which is about an hour drive from Reno is definitely a sight to see if you attend this university.

If you live in a dorm, it is super easy to find fun things to do. Events are always being put on by different groups on campus as well, such as Greek Life dances and Relay for Life. Just recently the medical group on campus put on a dance marathon event called Miracle Madness. On an everyday basis a person could join one of the many clubs on campus, or compete in intramural sports. The gym, Lombardi Recreation center, has classes such as cross fit, Zumba, cycling, and other cool things. A student at the University of Nevada, Reno should never be bored.

The Knitting Factory always has a lot of concerts from many different types of artists. Lake Tahoe is less than an hour away, and it's great for a weekend trip or just for a day to lounge around in the sun. In the winter, Mt. Rose is the place to go for snowboarding and skiing.

There are many activities to do on campus. One example of this is the Night of All Nations, which is an event that celebrates different cultures with food, musical performances, and more! There is also the Relay for Life, an event that takes place for hours on the football field to raise money for cancer. Many activities take place during Relay for Life, such as traditional ceremonies, zumba, performances by the Glee club, and more. During the winter the students can visit the outdoor skating rink or go to Lake Tahoe to snowboard or ski. During warm weather students can travel to the lake as well or visit the Truckee River. Something simple, but always fun, is to find different food places in the city- there are many! Students can join clubs and learn more about themselves; there are multiple clubs offered from religiously-based clubs, to sports-centered clubs, to community service opportunities, etc.

The Wal, Wolf Den and Corkscroo are the best local bars (good food too). Go to the sports games; they're always fun. Skiing and snowboarding in the mountains over winter, Lake Tahoe in the Summer.
