» Read MoreSki!! Or snowboard, whichever you prefer. There are hella ski resorts super close to campus, and they usually offer awesome college season passes that you can get with your Wolf Card. In the summer, beautiful Lake Tahoe is less than 40 minutes away for swimming, hiking, biking, and kayaking. The Truckee River also goes through Reno, and everyone loves to get drunk and float down it. Reno also has awesome nightlife - the casinos are always open and they're pretty much the only place that actually cares if you're 21; the rest of the bars are pretty lenient when it comes to fake ID's. And people love to party here - there's always something going on.

Lake Tahoe is only a 45 minute drive away so it is always fun to either go up there to snowboard/ski or to lay on the beach and hang out with friends. Even though Reno is known for the casinos, there are a lot of things that college students can do that don't involve being downtown or near a casino.
