You can go to Franklin Street (that is the downtown), and you can walk there. Here, there are lots of restaurants and of course, there is shopping. Also, there are constantly events on campus from movies to comedy shows, to talent shows.

I'm personally not much of a partier, but there are usually parties going on Thursday-Saturday night near the fraternities and sororities. There are also a couple of dance clubs and bars on the street north of campus. If you're like me and not really into partying, every weekend the Union shows two movies. There are also always events going on like poetry slams, residence hall events, club activities, too many things to list. Also, the games are really fun to go to, especially basketball.
