Am learning a lot
Right now I am taking general classes, some are the same that I took in high school like psych, chemistry, and precalculus but the teachers cover the material in much greater detail.
Am enjoying being here
They people here are really friendly and provide a welcoming environment. Hockey is also a big thing up here and I love it!
Bang for the buck
Compared to other schools I looked at the University of North Dakota was way cheaper. You get unlimited meals (if you live in the dorms) and you get in to sports games for free (except for mens hockey, but it only costs $7!)
Tips for prospective students
Make sure you practice good study habits in high school because you really need them in college. If you study I recommend going to the library or to a coffee shop and don't bring your computer because you will just get distracted by facebook.
Great for these types of students
Every student!

I love the classes here, and the teachers are very willing to help you out in anyway they can.
Am enjoying being here
The atmosphere is awesome. People are friendly and kind. I was the only person to come here from my high school, and I found many new friends.
Bang for the buck
You can learn a lot here, and there are a ton of different class to take. They have many different major opportunities and something for every student.
Tips for prospective students
Try something new, and explore your options. Also, use your student advisers. My adviser has helped me a bunchvwith choosing classes based on my major and getting to know the campus better.
Great for these types of students
Health care professions and aviation are the biggest draws UND, but I think that anyone would do well here. UND has a lot to offer so why not give it a try.

I am definitely learning a bunch here at UND. The math classes I've had are better than any high school math, but the Chemistry classes I've had so far haven't been the best if you, like me, don't have a strong Chemistry background (thus the 4/5). A vast majority of the classes are well taught, but occasionally you will come across a dud.
Am enjoying being here
The campus is great, as are the people. There are many things to do on the weekends and it's very easy to keep busy. The campus is absolutely gorgeous, too!
Bang for the buck
College isn't cheap, but UND is reasonably priced. The classes are well taught, so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
Tips for prospective students
Be ready for the cold!! :) But really, bring a heavy coat.
Great for these types of students
I think that UND is great for almost anyone. However, if you need a big city, like Minneapolis, Chicago, or bigger, then Grand Forks, probably isn't for you.And if you're going into the sciences, it helps if you have a strong Chemistry background here. Also, I wasn't kidding about the cold, so if you are a beach bunny, you might want to reconsider your college choice.

The upperclasses in math are challenging but they will sure help you expand you knowledge on mathmatics.
Am enjoying being here
The living environment is nice, the food is excellent, and the people are just like any other ND citizen, always nice.
Bang for the buck
Room and board is a little on the spendy side for students on a budget, but for classes nothing will compare to the price you pay for the kind of education your getting.
Tips for prospective students
Look into all your options before you make a decisions.

The Univerisity of North Dakota has a great team of staff, especially in the Biological Sciences department. The biology teachers here take a lot of pride in their lecture teachings asa well as their research studies. If you have questions or have trouble in any aspect of the class they are more than willing to take time out of their schedule to help you to understand the material that they are teaching. All of my teachers are very nice and student orientated. School here has been very effective in helping me to understand the different categories of my major and where exactly I would enjoy further learning of my major.

I love attending UND. The school is very safe and practices its moral values with the students. It is a great school and it is becoming very diverse among different ethnic groups. The school is like a great big family with very easy going open minded individuals who are willing to learn a little more about who you are and why you are here.
Bang for the buck
You absolutely get MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK here. Teachers put more effort into teaching, the school is very affordable, offers many different grants and scholarships for students, and their athletic programs are fantastic. I am from california and the curriculum is just as competitive, organized, and proper for the majors that are offered.
Tips for prospective students
Remember to bring a thick jacket because it gets cold here, other than that, be prepared to enjoy a wonderful community of students who are driven to prosper in life.
Great for these types of students
Students who are football and hockey fans, or even play these two sports are in for a treat. UND has the #1 hockey program in the country along with AVIATION. Students who are also interested in law and biological sciences will reap a lot of success and education from this university

The professors are great and are willing to take the time to talk to you one on one if you need help or have any questions.

The atmosphere is great! When you walk to classes there are rabbits, birds, and squirrels running around :D

Be ready to have a great time going to college. There are many activities to do here and you will never be bored.

I love the classes and professors here. All of mine so far have been very nice and helpful. I am an aviation student so there really is no better choice than UND.
Am enjoying being here
The city isn't the greatest but the campus and the people are great. there are so many intramural sports and student organizations you can join.
Tips for prospective students
This is an awesome school. I am currently a sophomore and i couldn't ask for a more fulfilling college experience. My advice is to be active and actually get involved in organizations. Go out and meet new people and you will have a much better experience
Great for these types of students
All students. Especially if you are interested in aviation. There is no better aviation school in the world.

For the most part, the professors here know what they're talking about. You can see that they know their stuff and really enjoy what they teach.
Am enjoying being here
The school atmosphere is great! Everyone is really nice and I feel like I'm in a small community. On the other hand, the weather here is terrible.
Bang for the buck
Compared to a lot of other schools, UND is relatively low cost. The state of North Dakota keeps their universities costs low. This can most likely be attributed to philanthropic oil field owners.
Tips for prospective students
Note: the weather is terrible. But don't let that scare you away. The school is great.
Great for these types of students
Aviation!! UND has one of the top aviation programs in the nation. Our flying team has won nationals for at least the past 4 years in a row and all the teachers have at one point been in the field that they are teaching.

accepted here and planning to attend soon

Great for aviation majors. Great for hockey fans. Get a warm coat.
Tips for prospective students
Take a lot of AP classes in HS to get out of many freshman classes. UND accepts a lot of/if not all AP credits. Visit campus. I fell in love with the campus and aviation program and it's why I'm headed to UND.
Academic Rigor
Any college is going to be challenging coming from high school. Again, take AP classes as they prepare you better for college level work loads than on level classes. You get out what you put in and UND has a lot to offer.
Dorm Life
Seemed nice enough. Looking forward to getting the college experience living in the dorms.
Food and Dining
Was pleasantly surprised by the dining hall during the visit. Wilkerson is new and was very nice. Seem to have a lot of options between the 3 dining centers and the smaller dining halls at the med school and airport.
What to do for fun
Hockey games. Football team is on the upswing.
Bang for the buck
OOS tuition is very low compared to many other schools. You can get in-state tuition after a full year living in ND. Aviation majors should check out the flight fees and be prepared for those. Flight fees are quite reasonable compared to other programs for a better quality of classes/instruction.
Great for these types of students
Aviation students, hockey fans, anyone really who doesn't mind the cold.
Clubs and Activities
All kinds of clubs and D1 sports.
Campus Safety
UND has it's own police dept and blue light poles around campus.

UND is a fantastic place to come and hone your educational foundation. Faculty to student ratios are commendable and professors are most always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to their students. In addition, UND's location is prime for many extracurricular happenings, including world class athletics, facilities, and entertainment.
Tips for prospective students
The general consensus may be that UND and Grand Forks as a whole just can't cut it, but the fact of the matter is that UND offers a world class education and all the delightful amenities of the big city/university while maintaining an atmosphere of a close-knit and safe community.
Academic Rigor
The professors here at UND come from an innumerable amount of differing backgrounds, but that is what makes them unique. The fair student to teacher ratio gives the student an opportunity to establish a relationship with his or her professor rather than being just another face. UND gives you the chance to further yourself for the absolute best through a challenging curriculum that can be conquered if the will and desire is there.
Dorm Life
Dorm life at UND is fun. Most if not all of the RA's are friendly and not stereotypical in the least bit. Within any given dorm the outgoing atmosphere is complimented nicely by friendliness. Many friendships are made throughout the course of dorm life, and these relationships last up until graduation and even after!
Food and Dining
UND offers a wide variety of dining options while on campus. The Memorial Union has many choices available to students, including a sandwich and coffee shop. Just across the street in the bookstore there is another coffee shop. Dining halls down university have a large selection each and every day.
What to do for fun
The possibilities for fun are endless. Apply early and get your Sioux hockey tickets. All athletics in general are fun with the world class athletic facilities UND has to offer. The Wellness Center is another shiny penny with numerous basketball courts, running tracks, and weight stations. Additionally, there are movie theatres, weekly events on campus, and night life downtown is fun as well.
