Because of it's beautiful location North Georgia facilitates both a healthy outdoor lifestyle and a little more excitement on the Dahlonega square. With the close proximity of the appellation trail, and several parks and wildlife management areas to choose from, nature lovers can wander and explore to their heart's content. For those looking for a little more social interaction the square provides visitors with an area where they can enjoy learning about North Georgia's rich history, grab a bite to eat, or even enjoy a little small town shopping.

The student organization, NightHawk entertainment, schedules at least three events for students to attend each week. If one enjoys physical exercise, the recreation center and gym are open throughout the school week and select hours on the weekend.
