» Read MoreSo much to do! Go to Portland and enjoy concerts, musicals, clubs, and unusual restaurants, or visit the gorge and mountains, go skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer. On campus they have an organization that sets up campus music, fireworks, and many other activities on the weekend nights for those who don't want to go into the city.

The Campus Program Board holds events on weekends, including a movie in the auditorium every Friday and Saturday (except when other things are going on). Takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown Portland (Powell's books) by bus. There are also a few restaurants and shopping in St. Johns. Don't forget about the nature scene. Sauvie Island has the beach, Mt. Hood and other skiing spots in the winter, hiking, etc.

» Read MoreDowntown Portland is just minutes away by bus, and bus prices are not outrageous. Alberta St. has many fun, well-priced places to dine and lots of cute shops. Being separated from downtown is nice because you get away from the hustle and noise, but are close enough to get there if you want to go to a concert, shopping, or ice-skating.
» Read MoreThere are programs set up so that the students can get off campus and see stuff. I went ice skating just a little while ago actually. Downtown Portland is just a bus ride away. There is a great restaurant only a few miles away called the Kennedy School.
