In three sentences The University of Puerto Rico in Humacao doesn't have the most beautiful campus, we don't have many of the basic needs. One thing for sure is that I feel at home when you I'm there, we are a great family. We have amazing educators and people hoping for an education, what could be better than that?

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus security is not what it used to be, although if you stay away from possible threats they will be able to help you. There have been a series of student aggravation and robberies reported. A list of emergency contacts and rules are given to students on the first day.
Greek Life There are no sororities or fraternities of any sort.
Clubs and Activities The clubs and activities available are usually the following: SIFE (for business and administration), Sports, ACS (for chemistry), Student council, volunteer work, etc. It depends on the amount of students willing to participate, but there will always be something to do when it comes to these because of how big the campus is.
Great for these types of students This university is great for students who are interested in research. Interestingly enough the U.S. always looks to recruit students from the department of science because of their innovative projects <--this in now recognized nationwide.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus As soon as you are accepted to study at said university it is wise to learn which classrooms to go to so that you can go directly to them, don't wear any new clothes that may call someone's attention on the first day, try and act as if you are familiar with the campus on the first day, learn the basic university format because sometimes the more experienced students wil be waiting for you at a certain area on the first day, never show your student card to another classmate on the first day unless they work there and the most important rule of all NEVER EVER openly admit that you are a freshman in an open area on the first day. If you ignore these basic instructions those of who have studied at the university will: throw water balloons at you, cover you in shaving cream and make you dance in the hallway while others film it. <--Thankfully when you go to the first college campus tour -after being accepted- they explain all these things to you and give you the necessary equipment.
Bang for the buck This is one of the most economic universities in Puerto Rico, with a cost of $800 maximum per semester.
What to do for fun A series of organizations always announce activities during the semester as well as during vacation time. They assign you a student email which they fill with announcements such as classes and seminars that will make you a more well rounded professional. As far as the surrounding area of the campus, there isn't much: only a few stores which means you may have to drive a bit farther to find something interesting to do. Although I doubt the part of being able to go outside the university. The students usually spend their time in study groups or taking tutoring lessons.
Food and Dining They have an excellent service with a lot of variety. They also have student specials in the cafeteria. A food combo is assigned for each day. There are also a series of restaurants in front of the university and close by.
Dorm Life They are localized outside the university campus from my understanding.
Academic Rigor You learn alot in this facility. My only complaint is that sometimes the reviews provided by the professors for the departamental exams are not always up to date or accurate.
Tips for prospective students Study is a key word in this university. The professors hand out a lot of work and the best advice anyone can give you is to STUDY: STARTING FROM THE FIRST DAY.
In three sentences It is considered to be a very hard and hectic university a person learns a lot just by attending the facility. Although, if you want to graduate somewhat quickly and you are a calm & studious person this university is not for you. Simply put, this university is not for everyone.
