I recommend becoming involved with the school and joining a club. If you're not interested in the many different clubs they offer, then at least be sociable. Making connections with your peers is very important. You can form study groups within your major and also make friends! Make sure to also speak with your advisors as much as possible, so you are taking the right steps to achieve your short and long term goals in your college career.

Stay ahead of the game don't wait until a teacher assigns reading to do it if you already know which subjects are going to be covered from your book. Make lots, I mean a ton of time, to study for some classes like chem and bio the exams from almost all of the teachers are extremely difficult. Keep trying, don't give up on a class over 1 or 2 bad grades, it's not over until it's over. Talk to your professor if you have learning difficulties.

Get involved and try something new! If for a moment you think a club or event might be intersting go to it! And don't be afraid to ask for help because afterall people are there to help you and willing to help you. Just ask! Also get out there and talk to people. Strangers are only friends you haven't said hi to yet.
