Get a tour of the school and spend a night if you can. Talk to a department head in the field of study you're interested in. Also, introduce yourself to an admissions officer; they're very nice and it will help you along the way. read full review

Bring clothing for any type of weather. Heatwaves and cold streaks can and do happen at any time. Also bring umbrellas and rain gear. And definitely a camera, there are so many great views that you'll want to capture, especially if you go down to Lake Champlain which I definitely recommend. The lake and Church Street are two of the best things Burlington has to offer, you can always find something to do there and it's within walking distance though you can still take a bus if you don't want to walk. So spend time exploring the city, it has a lot to offer. And get out there and get to know everyone you can, you probably won't like everyone you meet but there are a lot of interesting personalities and different perspectives you will find. There are downsides of course though, it tends to be quite noisy and not all the dorms are the most comfortable or roomy, but those are easy enough to adjust to. read full review
