Around Town

There is literally something to do every single night in college. If you're not into frat parties, there's always UPC events going on and tons of restaurants and cute shops to browse in Downtown Charlottesville.

Hit the Downtown Mall! The Downtown Mall is an historic pedestrian only area with lots of cute shops and restaurants. There are also lots of trails and other outdoorsy things to do around town.

The Downtown Mall is a great place to hang out! There's also shopping at Fashion Square and Barracks Road. And there will never be a day when there isn't something to do on Grounds!

Join student organizations, hang out at the corner, watch a movie at Newcomb, listen to acapella concerts, free dinner with professors.

The Greek scene is very strong, and host lots of parties and philanthropy events. Otherwise, the Corner has a solid bar scene. Also, most clubs are very social and throw their own parties. There is always too much going on every weekend!

There are sports competitions, bands, different outdoor clubs, and pretty much any other club you can think of--if it isn't there you can probably start your own because of how big the campus is.

Walk around on the lawn, and make new friends.

You can play ultimate frisbee, football or whatever in the Old Dorm quad or even on the Lawn

UVA has so many activities it does annually on its own: Lighting of the Lawn, Pumpkins and Puppies during the Fall, Pancakes for Parkinson's, and much more. The campus (or grounds) is so beautiful and you can always find some fun frisbee-ing or tightroping happening on the Lawn. It is never a boring time.
