    Great for these types of students

    Students that are interested in Sororities/Fraternities because they built a Greek village which has a ton of houses for the different sororities/fraternities. West Georgia has a great nursing program as well.
    Tips for prospective students

    As I have stated before, use your time wisely! The biggest change from high school to college is the responsibility. Set a pace for yourself and you'll do fine. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! Procrastination leads to the overwhelming feeling and eventually becomes your enemy. The website www.ratemyprofessor.com is really handy. Check it out.

    I like the fact that West Georgia isn't too expensive, and so do my parents.

    I am a commuter, just like a lot of other students that attend West Georgia, so for me, it seems almost like another job. It's hard to really interact with other students when you live 45 minutes away.

    There are always those easy classes, but for the ones that aren't so easy--learn how to use your time wisely.

    Great for all students! If you like to meet new people, try new things, have fun, and learn then West Georgia is right for you! Go West! West Georgia! Go Wolves!!!! Oowwwwwwww!! =) You will be hearing that a lot your first few weeks!

    Be sure to use your time wisely and study. Time management is very important when you get to college. Don't get me wrong it's good to have fun and hang out with your friends, but you must remember what you went to school for in the first place. If you play around your first year you will regret it in your years to come.

    UWG really has the bang for the buck. You go to all games for free, you can work out in the gym all you want and take all the classes they offer, you can eat at the Cafeteria or the Z-6 is what we call it. They have great food on campus and great spots to get coffee, or a smoothie. If you like rock climbing we got it. Enjoy games? Go to our game room! Like to golf? We have a day of glow in the dark golfing! Like to step, dance, sing, or act? We have it all here! You really get your money's worth at the University of West Georgia.

    I love being at West Georgia. It's a great school for me because it's not too far from home, but it's far enough for me to feel independent. They have so much to do here. They have plenty of clubs and activities so that you can get out and socialize and make new friends. They have a lot of things for freshman to do when they come here also. They have bonfires, step shows, talent show, poetry nights, Greek Strolls, haunted houses (only for Halloween), and so much more.
    Am learning a lot

    I seem to learn something new everyday! Whether it's in class or one of the many different clubs or events offered here, the University of West Georgia teaches its students something important everyday. They have an abundance of classes to take depending on your interest and the teachers are extremely helpful and actually want to help! You don't find that at every school.

    Outgoing students thrive in this community! Also, if you are looking for an exciting campus but a good little country town, UWG in Carrollton is where you should go!
    Tips for prospective students

    Don't skip classes and get involved in clubs and organizations on campus! I would also say that even if you don't have to, live on campus for at least one semester to get to know other students and to get involved more easily.

    The tuition cost is low and you get more than your moneys worth at UWG!

    I absolutely love the campus! It is a walking campus and everyone is sociable and generous! The faculty is very helpful and the students are also willing to help each other out!

    Make sure you attend every class and study for an hour outside of class for every hour that you are in class!

    My tips for possible students is get familiar with the campus before classes start. Once classes start begin studying, don't wait because you can easy fall behind. Last but not least join some clubs, get involved. These are you best years so have some fun.

    Not sure what Cappex meant by bang for buck, but at UWG you get what you pay for. The tuition you pay will take care of everything you could possibly need. Some colleges gives fees and you don't know what they are for, well UWG explains. For example health fee: if you get sick they will give you the medicine you need no charge you already paid for it, the flu shot no charge you paid for it already. you get what you get what you pay for.

    I love it here! There is something to do everyday. Residence life as well as other campus organizations has something planned in order to keep us busy as well as having fun. Not to mention the family environment they have. Because this is a college town the community is also involved in different things concerning the college, especially homecoming.
    Am learning a lot

    The professors here know what they are doing. The University is very strict on who the hire to teach each student. Each professor is different but all of them tend to care about the students their well-being.

    Too many to name...but recommend the Community Learning Organizations and the Peer Mentoring Organizations.

    For students who prefer small classroom size. Students who like one-on-one contact with Professors and Administration. Students who like a Small Town atomosphere.

    During Orientation the staff takes you on a Haunted Campus Tour...It was a pretty fun experience.

    Medium sized campus which offers a lot of bang for the buck. From the technology to the course assignments...you will not be disappointed.

    Many activities are planned for the students. The best part is that they are included in your University Fees.
    Food and Dining

    Excellent food service. Make sure you get the UNLIMITED meal plan.

    Beautiful dorms with many new buildings being added.

    Make sure you get any questions answered as soon as possible. Summer's full time is 9 hours for financial aid. Fall and Spring is 12 hours. This does make a difference! I learned it the hard way. Make friends with the faculty and staff, they will help you if you need it.

    This school is very accepting. It is great for any type of student from any background. We have all kinds of clubs and socials, so do not worry, because anyone can find a friend here!
    Tips for prospective students

    Go to every class! Alot of my teachers will give extra credit on random days just for being there. Sign up for scholarships early! Check out arbor view apartments if you want to live on campus.

    West Georgia definitely has that bang for the buck factor. It's such a nice campus with good facilities, and it is definitely worth each dollar! You get to use the gym whenever you want just by being a student. Definitely a plus!

    This campus is so beautiful, and West Georgia makes sure that there are always activities going on. Whether it's a play, intermural game, or just chilling in the quad there is always something to do and someone to talk to.

    I am definitely learning alot! There is such a variety of classes, and anyone can find one that will become a favorite. My teachers this semester have all been very helpful in many ways. Whether a class may be easy of really hard, you can do well and learn the material if you take the time to study. Don't forget to go to class!

    It is a smaller campus but it was a perfect size for me, so if you like to be able to go to class and know at least one person this is the place for you :))
    Tips for prospective students

    Be active and have fun!!!! You only go to college once so make the best out of your experience. Concentrate on making good grade because they do mean a lot, but also its the time to find your true friends and have fun.

    I have made so many true friends especially through my sorority, Phi Mu. I definitely recommend joining some type of organization to meet new people and keep busy.
    Am learning a lot

    The University of West Georgia has already helped me improve my GPA alot more than what my high school GPA was. They try there hardest to offer many options for every student to succeed.

    Campus Safety

    The worst thing to happen in the two years that I was there was a knife fight in which the guy who pulled the knife got stabbed in the butt with his own knife by the defender. Also, keep a good lock on your bike if you're going to be on campus over the summer. Bike thefts aren't common, but they happen most often in the summer when not many people are around. If your bike does go missing, make sure that campus police didn't take it thinking that it was abandoned. (This happens when a bike's seen in the same location for a whole semester or so.)

    Those looking to transfer to a more expensive school after getting core taken care of, and those in high school looking for a head-start.

    Definitely visit Adamson Square.
    What to do for fun

    There are ALWAYS events on campus. Just keep an eye out for posters for things that you might want to do. There is a full gym with rock-climbing, a basketball court, and yoga and zumba courses. There's a lake five minutes by car from campus that's a part of the John Tanner State Park. There's a movie theatre about 10 minutes by car from campus that's fairly cheap.
    Food and Dining

    The Z-6 Cafeteria was mentioned above, but the campus actually has a decent selection of on-campus and near-campus food. There's a Starbucks in the library, Chick-fil-a on campus, another Chick-fil-a near the Wal-Mart, a McDonald's and two Mexican restaurants just off campus, a Chinese buffet that serves sushi within five minutes on bike, plus a whole lot of nice places on the Square. Adamson square has a coffee shop, a place that's KNOWN for the sandwiches, an Italian restaurant.
    Dorm Life

    The only hall that I would suggest to avoid is Watson. Weird stuff goes down in Watson. But, aside from that, it's decent living on campus. I lived in Gunn and Tyus, so I suppose that I wouldn't know as much about the traditional dorms, but I never heard much negative against most of the trads.
    Academic Rigor

    I mostly took just core while I was there, so I didn't really get into any of the harder classes. I'm also a fine arts major, so I probably wouldn't take the harder stuff, if I'd stayed. Just keep on your toes, I suppose.
    Tips for prospective students

    If someone looks younger than 18, there is a good chance that they are. There is an early-entrance program on campus that has had a student that was 12. The youngest in a while had been 14, though. Most Academy students or Gunnies (as they're sometime's called) are 16 to 18 because USUALLY the program accepts only high school juniors and seniors. Make a high enough score on the A�¡T or SAT, there's a good chance that they'd ask you to come even younger. So, just make sure to be wary. You can get a bad rep for trying to date too many children. (There was one guy who became interested in a Gunn girl roughly once a year or once every other year. So far, each have had a Korean roommate.) Also, these Academites don't just come from the United States. While I was there, we had Koreans, Catalans (small, proud area of Spain around Barcelona), Indians (India subcontinent), and one Chinese American. The food at the cafeteria is not that bad until you've had it for seven months. The Z-6 is on the other side of campus from most classes and dorms, but when I was in my last semester there (Spring 2012), there was a rumor of a new cafeteria being put in on the busy end of campus. You'll probably still get sick of the food eventually, but at least it's not quite as much of a hike. Take honors Astronomy with Powell, if he's still there. The only difference is that you have a different book from standard astronomy and that the lab is required. UWG requires at least two sciences with a lab, so just get it out of the way. The lab's easy as well. Just don't get upset if a TA runs the lab. When Powell's in the class, though, try not to start stupid tangents because he will get offended. He won't do anything, but he may end up giving you weird looks whenever you even have a legitimate question. Also, he tends to tell a lot of anecdotes. Don't question it; you WILL get through the material. It's best not to take Powell for Physics, though. I didn't, but my roommate of the time did, and the way she made it through was to watch online lectures by other professors. She said that the way he explains it is rather confusing. If you ever have to take Economics as a core class, take Microeconomics with Murphy. He's funny, and he offers 10 points of extra credit per test if you're IN CLASS to fill out the super-easy hand-outs each day. The tests are easy, but those bonus points can make up for when you have a brain fart. No matter what the school says, the campus police WILL NOT give you a ride anywhere. They will send someone to walk with you, but that's it. So, if you're ill and feel like you're gonna throw up, walk slow or stay put.

    UWG is a very nice small school that is usually best as a starting point for more in-depth careers, such as environmental engineering or art. The only problem that I have found is that the school is trying too hard to seem like the college to attend, and it's advertising campaign is a bit embarrassing. The teachers are usually really cool, though, but do make sure to ask others who have taken them before about their teaching style.

    Make sure you have good study skills and that you attend all your classes. Develop a relationship with your professors so that they will be able to remember you when they are doing grades. You have a better chance of getting a good grade when the professor knows who you are.

    The tuition here is very cheap compared to other colleges. It's affordable for the average family.

    I enjoy being here because of the diversity and the new experiences that you get to partake in.

    Though I am a commuter and not as involved in the school as I like, you can still find a place/group of people that you belong to . There's a place for commuters to hang and if that's not enough you can join some clubs to get more involve and meet new people.

    This college will help you get far in life. They offer a lot of major and minors and it's your decision to pick what you want to do. If you can't decide then there are programs and people to help you. You will also need to balance social life and academic life if you want to get ahead and accomplish your goals.

    This college as a lot of clubs for students of all types and if you can't find one then you and your friends can create on. The school also has an awesome library which is right across the recreation center and near the Wolf Den where you can get a meal or a snack.

    You need to attend all of your classes if you want to do well. It doesn't matter if all your friends skip, stay in class...you'll always learn something the book never covers.

    Students who like entertainment, being outside, a large campus, students who like to party, and drink coffee (yes this is weird but theres pretty much alot of places on campus to get coffee). This school is also for students who arent afraid to be themselves and socialize.
    Tips for prospective students

    Attend class if neccessary, dont just rely on powerpoint, many teachers require that you go and buy a book for their class but you really do not need one. 90% of the class material the teacher says out his/her mouth. Also, do NOT let the campus activities distract you, there is always something going on around campus that it will really make you not want to attend class even if you tell yourself your only going to go for a few minutes, trust me that was everyones excuse!
    Bang for the buck

    UWG is not too pricy, but every penny you spend attending here is worth it. You get carnivals, campus parties concerts, rock climbing and so much more for way less than other colleges, plus the campus has a bus that takes you around campus so that you can be lazy and become educated.

    UWG has sooo much to offer here and keeps you involved. There is so much going on and flyers posted around the school to keep you updated and able to meet new friends that you'll never forget. Also, everyone here is friendly and loves to offer helping hands with a smile.

    The teachers here have a very strict policy about attending class only because they are dedicated to their work and want you to walk out on your last day of class knowing you have learned alot of valuable information.

    Do not be afraid to call the school and ask questions. Schedule a tour to view the campus. Make sure West Georgia is offering the major you desire and plan to go to orientation early. Making new friends is important and very essential for your success so do not be afraid to be yourself.

    Campus Safety

    Campus safety is great. There are always informing the campus about current events. For instance, if there is a storm they will trigger the weather siren. If there is a power outage they will email the students. Also campus police are everywhere in site.
    Greek Life

    Greek life is good at UWG. I am not officiated with the Greek but the organizations always have events on and off campus for students to attend.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are many activities UWG has. The activities range from recreations teams, concerts, tournaments, sports. Some celebrities I had a chance to see from the activities on campus at UWG was Ludacris, Travis Porter, Sammie, and much more.

    UWG is great for commuters. Majority of our school are commuters.

    The tradition is the only thing that kills UWG. There is no school spirit. Majority of the students are commuters once they are done with school they go home. Since they go home on the weekend the school is dead. Not a lot of people show up for the activities or sports games that UWG has.
    What to do for fun

    Last time I heard UWG is known for partying. That is what students do for fun. Also, many students play basketball at the recreation on campus for fun.
    Food and Dining

    Food is not so great. The only thing that is good is Chick-fil-A. I heard from many people who have meal plans that go to the Z-6 (which is the main dining area) state that the food is nasty. UWG is trying to add more food options to the menu.
    Dorm Life

    I haven't lived in the dorms but a lot of people who live in dorms do not like it. Many dorms at UWG are getting shut down because they need remodeling. UWG is building new dorms therefore once the dorms get fixed and they finish the new dorms it should be a better experience.
    Academic Rigor

    Teachers treat everyone the same. They are hard towards the athletes. Even if athletes have excuse letters some teachers do not excuse them. They do not care. That is one thing I do not like because athletes are representing UWG and playing for them. Some athletes do not like traveling because when they miss class sometimes they cannot make up the work.
    Tips for prospective students

    If you are a student who loves to go to games and cheers your heart out and is all about school spirit DO NOT go to UWG we do not have school spirit. That is the only knock off of UWG.

    What to do for fun

    Food and Dining

    Food is okay in the cafeteria, their pizza and hamburgers are good. Eat in the UCC often, that's where the good food is.
    Dorm Life

    Most of the dorms on campus aren't that bad, but it's not the best. If you're a girl, stay away from Watson Hall which is the all girls dorm.
    Academic Rigor

    Depending on your teacher, major, and class is how hard your academics are. Always go on RateMyProfessors.com to check your professors out before taking their class.

    For anyone who is attending West Georgia for their first time, make sure that you get to know your professors on a more personal level. It gives you more leniency when assignments are due.

    University of West Georgia is a great school for students who are want a campus that is a nice size, but everyone is tight-knit. Although there are a lot of students, West Georgia does a great job with making you feel comfortable. West Georgia is more like family, than a university.

    Campus Safety

    The campus has its very own UWG police department that 24/7 maintains campus safety. The only incident I have heard of in the past 17 years was a drunk driver crash, which cannot be prevented and happens everywhere. The college is very strict on its anti- drug and drinking policies for people under the age of 21!
    Greek Life

    Available but not in it.
    Clubs and Activities

    The college offers almost any club your mind can possibly imagine. If you want to learn how to duck call, sing Yankee Doodle, or dance the electric slide, we have a club for it. We also have great community service clubs that have donated hundreds of thousands over the past few years to the homeless and less fortunate.
    Great for these types of students

    The UWG is great for hometown lovers, poor geniuses, big college dreamers, etc. This college is great for anyone and it all comes for a great price.

    The football games are fantastic, packed, and loud. The pep- rallies preceding the games are always something to look forward to.
    Bang for the buck

    The UWG is one of the best bang for your buck colleges in the country. The tuition is modest and there are very few mandatory fees or other outrageous expenses. There are UWG policemen that love to blast you with a parking ticket but other than that there are no really surprise expenses.
    What to do for fun

    The campus provides so many fun activities to take up. Not even mentioning the 100+ clubs from kayaking to chess, the sports programs: both collegiate and intramurals are excellent. There is downtown Carrollton only 3 minutes down the road for great night- life and the big town Atlanta about 30 minutes away!
    Food and Dining

    With one starting and final price, the UWG offers all you can eat at the campus operated Z6. The food is mediocre but the quantities are massive, which is not that great of a thing for you dieters. There are also many fast food and sit- down restaurants around. Starbucks is always popular for that morning coffee crave as well!
    Dorm Life

    The dorm life is just incredible at UWG. The dorm managers oversee so many fun and exciting extracurriculars to make college a blast. It is not uncommon for our dorm to have a scheduled water balloon fight or marshmallow catapult fight. On the other-hand, there is always the silence you need to study in your room and the social life in the common room.
    Academic Rigor

    The UWG can award you with the degree without the sweat and blood it would cost at Georgia Tech. The classes are never truly difficult, and the campus and teachers offer several tutoring sessions for those seeking refuge.
    Tips for prospective students

    Some of you may feel like the University of West Georgia is just a back- up plan, but UWG makes a great primary college. They offer the extracurriculars that any college could offer while providing an effortless transition from high school to the college routine.

    The University of West Georgia is not just that local home- town college. Though this university allows for a small town experience where most students can drive 10 minutes down the road for a home cooked meal, it also creates many opportunities unlike the norm. For example, I am an above average student who knew no chance of paying for the highly appraised colleges of the day, but UWG took me in under a scholarship at 16 and is helping me by opening transfer scholarships to colleges beyond my very dreams,

    People who like to be involved. They also have lots of intramural sports, so you don't have to play collegiate and you can just have fun.

    Get ALL of your applications in on time to increase the chances of getting the housing/roommate(s) you want and do NOT procrastinate when it comes to signing up for classes or tutoring!

    The tuition isn't too bad compared to a lot of other colleges. The financial aid office is willing to help out if you don't wait too long to ask for the help you need.

    It is EXTREMELY easy to meet new people who share a common interest/goal and make a lot of friends here.

    Bang for the buck

    West Georgia is definitely the bang for the buck.The tuition prices are not that bad especially for someone who receives scholarships. What you learn and experience is worth the price you pay.
    What to do for fun

    There are many things to do for fun, you can attend football games at the new stadium during football season, see plays, and go shopping at the nearby stores in Carollton.
    Food and Dining

    They have all types of food for everyone. There is different dinning halls and there is a Chik fil A on campus.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are really nice, they are currently working on renovating and remodeling dorms that will be open during the 2012-2013 school year.
    Academic Rigor

    The academic rigor is pretty balanced as long as you pay attention, do assignments on time, and ask for extra help you will be able to succeed and maintain the HOPE scholarship.
    Tips for prospective students

    Look up the requirements for incoming freshman and make sure you meet the minimum, and apply early! There are many scholarships for students you just have to be proactive and serious.

    Go to class. Don't be that student that doesn't go to class, it will catch up with you. Most teachers have an attendance policy. Also use the syllabus, that thing will be your best friend. It tells you when all your tests are, when all the papers are due, and even when there are no classes.

    YES! This college is not that expensive and on campus and in the classes you would never notice it. You would think you're at a much more expensive college.

    My first semester was a bit of a challenge but most people's are. I do like being here now even if it took me a little while to get my niche in the crowd but now that I have I'm much happier in my surroundings.

    I actually do feel like I'm learning a lot at this school. The classes aren't that easy, well at least the ones that I signed up for, but they're not that hard; they're challenging.

    Go to class. Even if you don't feel like going that day. Also make friends in your classes that way if your sick and can not make it to class you will know what went on that day. Ask for help when you need it, people are there for you.

    Join an organization, they can help you to keep focused and they can also be that support system that you will need throughout your time in college. Stay focused and do not get caught up in all of the activities that are going on around campus. Most importantly have fun, its college!

    Take advantage of the AP and CLEP testing. The cost to test is relatively low compared to the price of taking the class.

    The campus is beautiful. Lots of trails and big trees. It only takes me 15 minutes to walk from one side of the campus to the other. The bus is always available if needed also.
    Am learning a lot

    The University of West Georgia has a high student to teacher ratio. Any time you need to speak with a professor there is one available. The Excel center is very helpful for completing assignments when a student has questions on how to do a particular math problem or to write a good essay.

    great for active students who are social and make friends easily, but also good if you like getting lost in a crowd. There are opportunities for both.
    Tips for prospective students

    Be flexible, but make your wants known. The people in admissions and registration are here to work for YOU, so make them. If you are ambiguous about what kinds of classes you want, you may end up in not-so-desirable classes. That doesn't mean you have to know your major, but look into your classes and get what you paid for!

    I get what I paid for! Events and organizations are largely free for UWG students, or at the very least discounted, and the classes are quality.

    Lots of hills...other than that there really isn't much to complain about. Easy to make friends in almost every class and field.
    Am learning a lot

    On the whole, professors seem to enjoy their fields and teach with passion. There are exceptions to every rule, especially in the core classes, but for the most part they're here because they want to be.

    This school is great for any type of student. They have the extra push for the under achiever and an over achiever should be able to fit in anywhere.

    My tip to prospective students is to stay focused. College is fun, but don't forget what you came for. You're there to learn. Obtain as much knowledge as you possibly can. Make sure you stay on top of your grades, and build a connection with your professors.

    The school is not that expensive. It's about the same price as all the other colleges in Georgia that I looked into freshman year.

    I love being on campus. It's very active. There's always something to do, except for on the weekend. Since we're so close to Atlanta after Thursdays, most of the students go home. However, the campus does a good job of providing fun activities for people to get involved in. The campus is really diverse and clean.

    The professors are easy to talk to. If there is something you don't understand they tell don't mind clarifying. On top of that, they have free tutoring for basic core classes, such as Biology or Pre-calculus. It's really helpful.

    Don't waste your time! You must manage your time wisely! In the beginning you may think all you do is study, but you don't. You are able to balance everything out if you set your mind to it. Its fun to have a social life, BUT be sure to STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! You don't want to waste freshman year and struggle to bring back your GPA.

    UWG is a really good place to put your money! They are very affordable and have many food options for students. We have many of our own places to dine! Games are free and you can get apparel at many events!

    West Georgia is a great school for me because it's not too far from home, but I can feel independent too. They don't have much to do around the city of Carrollton, but they've been working on trying to keep students on campus.

    Because I'm a freshman the things you learn are your core classes that you were taught in high school. There are an abundance of different clubs and events offered here which can help you learn a lot as well. There are clubs based on certain majors, which are always a plus when you want to network!

    -who want a small-town, energetic, everybody-knows-everybody campus experience and who like to get away on the weekends: Atlanta and their fabulous clubs and FOOD aren't far, as well as a host of other Universities that we love to visit (and they love to have us!)

    Get to know your professors. Here at UWG professors are a lot kinder and forgiving with the students who earnestly seek to know the vast information that their professors hold.

    Some people don't think highly of UWG and in most cases UWG is nobody's first choice, but when comparing the tuition of some of our surrounding schools, their campus environment, and what they are learning, I am glad that I chose to attend UWG. The campus is springing up as well as on-campus life.

    The campus is growing at a rapid pace and I'm really enjoying watching it. Plus, when things get too tension-y and stress-y, you can always go spend a night with a friend at Kennesaw or UGA or GA State- like a mini-vacation!

    We have some really amazing professors here at UWG which is shone, simply, in the fact that they have not received a raise in FOUR years! We are blessed to have them lead us in the next phase of our lives and I say that with all the sincerity that I posses. I love our faculty and staff!

    I enjoy being at this school because of the Mass Communication meetings that are available. Since it is my major going to the meetings give myself an opportunity to express my ideas.

    This college is great for all types of students. I have seen so many parties and events that range from such a wide variety that anyone can find a club or something that interests them.

    In picking a college every student should visit the campus and that is what I suggest about this college. Spend a day just walking around, asking questions and exploring. You will never know all the things this college has to offer if you never look for yourself.

    I know anywhere I go is going to be expensive but I feel the University of West Georgia actually uses my money in a very productive and useful way that benefits not only just the college but me as well.

    I absolutely love the atmosphere of college. I am never bored and I just love walking around the college during the fall and spring. I am a part of the theatre department and it has been such a pleasure to work with the different directors and fellow students who love the stage as much as I do.

    Each class I have learned more then I did in my entirety at high school. Each teacher is very willing to help if you only ask. Teachers like to see students who try and care and are willing to help if asked. I have learned to enjoy different people's company and get along with a wide range of students.

    I feel very safe on campus and I have not heard of any problems on campus. When researching UWG the only police calls that I could find were calls along the nature of checking security lights and verifying security at the dorms, etc.

    All I can really say is that it looks like they have some beautiful homes.

    UWG has plenty of student activities. There are intramural sports, a full workout area, greek life, clubs, societies, etc. If you are looking for something to do on campus, chances are, UWG has something going on for you.

    UWG has a wide variety of food all over campus to suit the needs of just about everyone.

    I do not live in the dorms, so there are very limited things that I can say about them, but from what I have seen, they take great care to ensure the safety of the students. Incoming freshman are required to live in the dorms unless exemptions are approved.

    Being a transfer student at UWG, I am still learning about the academic rigor, but from what I have experienced so far, UWG is anything but a joke.

    Tip one would be to make sure that you are fully prepared for college life. Make sure that you don't think of your education here as a game. And never forget that your GPA is everything in the wonderful world of college!

    for fun the university of west georgia have many activites. they can range from the biggest loser which is a program hosted to help you lose weight and get in shape to weekends west which is many amounts of activities for students that stay on campus on the weekends. all of the activities are free and you win lots of great prizes.

    campus safety is one of the most important priorities to the campus. we have so many resources for you know what's going on if anything occurs on campus as well as sources provided for you if you are in need of any help. police are on watch 24/7, literally. they take no breaks and there here for your safety and support.

    greek life is nice, we have a variety of sororities and fraternities for all who want to become apart of one.

    there are so many clubs and activities going on campus i really can't name many, but the activity that majority of the students tend to like the most is zumba. zumba occurs every night and a lot of the students (male and female) attend and always come out enjoying the experience.

    living in a dormitory at uwg was a life changing experience. i made friends that i still cherish today. it will introduce you to new things such as sharing a room and respecting the space and privacy of others. it will teach you patience and tolerance as well.

    depending on your major, a lot of classes can be tedious and stressful. some courses are designed to make sure that you understand all subject matter. other classes ensure that you at least know the basics. courses will definitely be challenging. there is no such thing as just getting by at this school.

    it's always a good idea to study. make sure that you take advantage of your professor's office hours. form study groups; sometimes it is easier to learn with your peers. organize and plan ahead (saves a lot of time). get involved on campus. most importantly, don't stress yourself; it's fine to relax and have fun sometimes.

    the wolves den is pretty good with dining dollars. the z-6 isn't all that great especially if they aren't serving what you like or if they run out of food.

    dorm life is awesome if you have a good roommate and awesome hallmates. it is so much easier to live on campus than commuting.

    the academics aren't that great and kind of hard if you don't have a high interest in it. also it depends on your professor what you exactly talk about in that subject or not.

    There are emergency stops every few yards in case you need to contact the police immediate. They also are able to keep track of you via cellphone, if you give permission to do so.

    The University of West Georgia has an endless amount of recreational activities to choose from including group exercises, rock climbing, an arcade room and plenty of student organizations.

    You can never get tired dining on campus. There's different choices for you to choose from everyday of the week including options for vegetarians students.

    Dorm life is set up to promote social health and establish life-long friendships.

    The level of difficulty for the courses you will take are fairly difficult, as is expected for college level classes. However, the professors present the material in a clear way that makes it easier to understand. This makes it easier to study later.

    The campus over all is very safe there are portables all over campus for emergency contact with the police station on campus. The police department on campus is very helpful and informative.
    Greek Life

    I'm not involved in Greek life, but all of my friends that are, love it. There is a whole neighborhood dedicated to Greek life, called Greek Village. Many fun things that happen there as well as parties and social events.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are tons of school activities and clubs to get involved in. They all have many events to attend and friends are always easy to make with the openness of the students.

    The diversity at the school makes the university such a great place! This is a school for everyone, young, old, or in between, everyone is accepted and finds their place to fit in.

    I don't think there are very many unusual locations on campus. The campus is pretty straight forward there aren't many places that students aren't aware of.

    This school is definitely worth the money. The campus is very beautiful and always kept very clean. It's a school worth bragging about for sure!

    Getting involved in school activities is very important. There are a ton of clubs and Greek life at the school. Events are always happening on and off campus, some of which are, sporting events, plays, and activities in the fitness center.

    There are several different facilities in which you can get food. There is the Z-6, which is the normal cafeteria, the UCC, which is more like a food court kind of feel and different coffee and snack places set up in some of the buildings. They are all pretty affordable and always clean.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are alright, there are several options which is nice! There are the regular dorms, suites, and then apartment style housing on-campus. Which ever one the student ends up in I'm sure will be suitable for them.
    Academic Rigor

    It's not the easiest school on the planet, but it is definitely do-able. Studying and making sure you know deadlines is extremely important. Also finding good friends to study with makes school fun!

    Stressing out about not knowing what you want to do when you're out of school shouldn't be a huge problem. School is to help you figure out what you are wanting to do. Come to school with an open mind and a willingness to learn and you will do great!

    The campus safety is amazing. There is a phone device, where you can call the campus police to walk you to your dorm at night, at almost every corner.

    The Greek life is just as it is at other university. There are a lot of different fraternities and sororities.

    There is a fountain in the middle of the campus. It is beautiful and has the school colors on it.

    The university has fast food restaurants and it has a cafe. The food in the cafe is okay on some days and not so okay on other days. The best meal to eat at the cafe is breakfast.

    The university of West Georgia has excellent dorm rooms. West Georgia has the traditional dorm settings as well as the apartment style dorm rooms. Living in a dorm at West Georgia is a great experience to anybody living on campus.

    There are many times during the day that teachers and students tutor or help with material that a student may not understand. The professors have different office hours to adjust to a students schedule.

    To any prospective student you have a study just as you would at any other university. I also advise you to go to class even when you do not feel like going. Also students should get involved in as many activities that they can handle while keeping up with school work.

    Greek Life is amazing and there is always something to do for everyone n the Greek Village, even if you are not in a sorority or fraternity.

    For any huge events on campus, they are always located in Love Valley, a huge space in the center of the campus where it is very beautiful and lots of space.

    Join plenty of activities such as: the SAC (Student Activity Council) program, attend the many diffetnt campus events, enjoy fun workout prgrams in the Campus Center, and so much more!

    Everyone planning to attend this school should come willing to learn and enjoy their college experience. Prospective students should just come ready to be a student and learn!

    I heard the Kappas are something serious. Greek life as a whole allows you to be apart a family.

    There are more than enough clubs for each student to be involved in and love. The clubs you think they might not have, they most likely have. That's just how involved they want their student body to be.

    If you are one of those students looking for an adventure, looking to meet different people from all over the map, then University of West Georgia is the place for you. Come west and enjoy the western side of living, with your own personal touch of back home living.

    So affordable. I have a sister that goes to UWG, so you can imagine my parent's stress over sending another child to college. UWG takes all of that away, because it's affordable before financial aid and scholarships, so its most definitely affordable after that.

    Just going to your friends dorm is fun!

    I heard The Z takes freshman 15 to 20 if you're not careful, but besides that food i pretty good. I ate there once and their omelets are splendid.

    Co-ed dorms i believe are the best, I've been inside Arbor View and it is really nice. Every time I'm there it seems something exciting was going on. Besides that there is a variety of dorm styles you can choose from: such as apartments style, traditional, or the suites.
    Academic Rigor

    The many times that I visited, students seem to be really eager to go to class which is a good sign of West Georgia's academic standing. They have most if not more undergraduate programs for students. Their library is beautiful, and their new bookstore is so inviting.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure to apply for financial aid early so that you can receive as much money as possible. If you have friends that are going to UWG, make sure not to room with them, there are so many cool and nice people at the school to room with and get to know.

    Greek life is Huge on campus. The have pride that's for sure. They even have Greek Village on campus.

    Nothing is really unusual here. Except Bonner Building is just a huge lecture hall not a separate building.

    Campus activities that are every other weekend are the most fun. Parties every Thursday (don't party too much). If you have a car the stores around campus will be fun. Some counties around the school are more fun then Carrollton. Campus is boring on the weekends unfortunately.

    The dining on campus is interesting. At first it will be fine, but soon you will become tired of the repetitiveness of the food. You can choose to eat at the Z6 or Wolves Den. At the Wolves Den there is Subway, Burger studio, Chic-fila, ect.

    The on campus housing on campus are okay. They are bearable. If anything is a problem it will be the people on your hall. The bathrooms are cleaned everyday except Saturdays. Of course the dorms are small so get ready for that, but like i sad it is bearable. The campus is expanding so there will be new housing available soon.

    The classes are mentally simulating. If you know and have declared your major the school does have weeding out classes. These classes are no joke. Especially if you are a Biology Major.

    If you are planning on attending the University of West Georgia be knowledgeable about the campus as soon as you can. You will utilize the campus thoroughly as a student. Also get to know your professors. The professors want to help you as much as they can, but you have to put in the work as well.

    Campus Police does an excellent job at protecting the students of West Georgia. They provide services on campus 24/7. The campus includes calling booths that will connectyou directly with the campus police and offer assistance. They also offer escorting assistance for those who don't feel safe or may be a bit paranoid while traveling at night.
    Greek Life

    Greek Village is a complex that is home to many students who belong to a fraternity or sorority. All of the fraternity and sorority houses are built with an artistic combination of modern and Greek architecture. The university is home to over 30 fraternities and sororites such as Phi Delta Musicus, Alpha Lambda Delta, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Delta, Tau Beta Sigma, Sigma Nu, and many more. t also includes the Divine Nine HBCU Fraternities and Sororities.
    Clubs and Activities

    The uvinersity has over 50 different clubs and organizations aside from its large amount of fraternities and sororities such as Art Student Union, The Sound That Lights The South Marching Band, Concert band Ensembles, Anime Club Otaku, multiple organizations for those with religious affiliations, and many more!

    This university is great for students who want close-knit relationships with students, professors, and other faculty, have limited funds for college and want a lot more for what they are paying, and students who want a great mixture of academic rigor, friendly learning environments, and student involvment.

    One unusual location on campus is the West Georgia Fountain which, at night, gleams and sparkles with the colors of Crimson, Azure Blue, and White from lights that are shown form the spraying streams of water. Another unusual area is Greek Village. Greek Village is a complex that is home to many students who belong to a fraternity or sorority. All of the fraternity and sorority houses are built with an artistic combination of modern and Greek architecture.

    The University of West Georgia is an excellent choice for any type of student no matter the financial situation. You get to choose from a plethera of housing options as well as meal plan options. Not to mention all of the social events that go on and did I mention free T-Shirts all the time?
    What to do for fun

    There is always something going on at West Georgia, especially on the weekends when many of the students enjoy going home if they live nearby. On weekends, the SAC Program(Student Activities Committee) would always plan different social events to bring studnets closer and have many festivals and competitions to increase student involment. Some of the activities are taken care of by the CSI(Center for Student Involvement).
    Food and Dining

    The food at the Z-6 was good and they always were considerate of vegetarians and vegans. The Z-6 could use a bit more variety, but overall the food was okay. The campus also includes restaurants such as Subway, Topios Pizza, Papa John's, Burger Studio, Hot Bowls-Sushi Rolls,b Chik-Fil-A and many more alterative food options which are great for the student-on-the-go.
    Dorm Life

    I got to know a majority of my neighbors very well and my roomate was a very kind and considerate person. The dorms were always under the keen eyes of the R.A.'s (Resident Assistant) and the overall atmosphere was terrific. The bathroom were sometimes a mess, but due to the hard work of the Cleaning Crew and many considerate residents, it was no longer a problem.

    I had a rough time during my Freshman year if college at The University of West Georgia, but I have learned that no matter how capable a student is, it is always good to create a support system with your neighbors, friends, and professors because every now and then, even the best of us need help sometimes. I learned quite a bit from my professors and I discovered that there is always a connection between each class you take and you job is to find that connection and use it to you advantage in order to learn the subject matter more easily.
    Tips for prospective students

    To all rising freshmen who may decide to attend The University of West Georgia, I highly reccomend that you get to know your professors. Your professors are there for yopur education and want to help you in any way possible. Whether you are in a class that has 10 people and allows you to have one-on-one time with your professor or if it is a lecture class with 80 other people, getting to know your professor personally can become an indispensable tool in helping you to suceed in school.

    While the cafeteria is horrible, it does have a chick-fil-a on campus and other little places to eat. Plus the square has a few really cool places to eat.

    My dorm is amazing, but some of the other dorms are not as great. There are new appartments that are pretty nice. It just depends.

    It depends on which classes you take. It can be challenging when you take the upper level courses. Also honors classes are tough. However, the intro classes are pretty easy.

    Do not get a meal plan at the Z-6. Also if you really care about sports this place is not for you. Their sports teams are not good.

    For fun, my friends and i go to on campus weekend events, watch movies together, work out, or just hang out in each other's rooms.

    The food is pretty decent. There are days when it's really good and days where there isn't what you want to eat, but that's college dining for you.

    Well, dorm life, being that this is my first year here, but third year in college, i don't really like dorm life. The Resident Directors are sometimes unreasonable.

    I've only been here for one year, but their academics is pretty on point. They have a good amount of majors to choose from here, and i am satisfied.

    I recommend this school to any one. The school is neat, and organized and they genuinely care about their students.

    Commuter. If you are near the area, this is an ideal school for commuting. Easy access, cheap parking pass, and a sweet commuter lounge.

    Overall, a great deal as far as money goes. The meal plan is a little pricey but you are only required to get it for one year. Other than that, the teachers are great and the campus is beautiful.
    What to do for fun

    On campus there are endless activities to do. You can play sports, or go on the walking trails. There are planned events all the time whether it be a musical, concert, sports game, movie nights, outdoor games, outdoor movies. Whatever may interest you, they have it. Off-campus, downtown Carrollton has load of great shops and restaurants to hang out at.

    As a first year student living on campus a meal plan is required. You get a certain number of meals a week for the dining hall and a certain amount of dining dollars for the on campus stores. The dining hall is great when you want a quick meal and want some variety. Other than the dining hall you can eat at Starbucks, subway, chick-fil-a, a Bagel shop, burritos, Chinese, pizza, and a hamburger. Overall, the dining is a fun experience.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are really cool, and get bigger and better the longer you stay in them. There are always dorm activities and even friendly dorm rivalries and competitions. In a dorm hall themselves, you have an RA, room adviser; they can plan different activities for everyone to do. If something like that isn't going on, there is always your roommate. They tend to become your best friend and you end up doing loads of things together.
    Academic Rigor

    This varies by student but generally what I hear others say, and from my experience, is that they are able to handle their workload. The amount of hour you take is up to you and depending on when you sign up for classes you can make your own schedule and choose your professors. If you are having trouble in a core class, tutoring is offered on campus for all core classes, every day of the week. If you'd prefer a different method, all the teachers are willing to help you. They say they have office hours and they are there to help you, and they actually do. They even seem to enjoy help the eager student.
    Tips for prospective students

    This is a perfect school to live on campus, but it is also ideal for a commuter. There are so many different events going on that one is bound to catch your attention. As a commuter, you feel a part of the family as well, although you aren't there as often as a student living on campus, the staff and students find fun and creative ways to make you feel at home. For instance, last semester they made a field of snow (because it didn't snow on campus that year) so we could have snowball fights or build a snowman.

    The University of West Georgia caters to the students needs and really cares about your individual opinion. Although the number of students enrolled is fairly large, you still feel like it is a close-knit community where everyone is friendly and willing to help you. The campus itself is beautiful and covered with flowers; it is always clean and the staff is welcoming of everyone.

    University Police are alway around. They are quick to respond. They are friendly. They even unlocked my car doors for me when I lock myslef out. It was in the winter and I was freezing, so I appreciated the quick responce.

    Game Room, located in the Campus Center, is a place where you can hang out with your friends, play pool, PlayStation, Xbox, watch TV, play cards, table tennis and more. The University plays movies on the weekends, usually movies that are new to DVDs. There are parties every weekend in close by off campus apartments. Open court is always available for student that want to play basketball, tennis. There are fields to do what ever you want. Every once in a while there are fashion shows, dances, stand up comics, open mics, dunk contests, basketball tournaments, rock, rap and country concerts. Ludacris had a concert last year at UWG.
    Food and Dining

    All you can eat buffets during breakfast, lunch and dinner in the cafeteria!! With McDonald next door to campus, Starbucks in the library, Subway and Chick-Fil-A in the university community center. Many more places to eat, I'm not listing all of them.
    Dorm Life

    Some of their older dorms need to get torn down. Don't move to Downs, Bowdon, or Tyus. Greek Village, Arbor Place apt, University Suites are great dorms to stay in.

    Professors will challenge you. If you make an A in a course, you deserved it!!

    Know what you want from a univeersity: big, small, urban, rural, etc. UWG is a medium size university with small classroom sizes. It is also in a rural enviroment. Know what you are willing to pay: UWG is one of the least expensive schools in the state. More money in your pocket.

    The University of West Georgia has a competent police force that is constantly surveilling the campus. The university offers Wolf Watch which is a system in which students can text the police force at the time of their leaving campus up until they reach their place of residence or vehicle, if a confirmation of safety message is not sent, the police force tracks down the student to ensure their safety.
    Greek Life

    The University of West Georgia offers many different nationally accepted chapters of Sororities and Fraternities. During Greek Week competitions are held among the different sororities and fraternities.

    The University of West Georgia offers many student clubs with interests ranging from the sciences to sports clubs. There are many clubs and extracurricular activities in which every single student can feel comfortable and intrigued.     Campus police is no joke. They do not play when it comes to safety. There are emergency buttons surrounded around campus and they will come if you push it no matter what. You will always see an officer or the campus wolf watch (volunteers) somewhere on campus

    Some of the prices have risen do to addings and construction but I think that if you use everything to your advantage you will feel like your money is well spent. There is free printing, computer access, tutoring, and use all the money on the meal plan, and the activities are free. The games are all free, most activities give away free stuff like tshirts, and west georgia knick knacks. If you are in your room all day you will just waiste everything you pay for, but if you enjoy what the college has to offer you will feel that your money is well spent.
    What to do for fun

    There are alot of things to do here, you have to go and find them, they are not going to come to you. The campus center is always having something goin on in the ballroom, theres a gym, a game room, and rock climbing. The school has Weekends at West Georgia where the activity commitee plans different functions. Not to mention there are parties going on almost every weekend.. but dont party too much, know your priorities. Not to mention all of the sports games to go to, which you get into for free
    Food and Dining

    The on campus cafeteria, the Z6, does not really have a variety of its food choices and can sometimes seem as though you are eating the same thing everyday, but it is fun to go there and mingle with others and you may end up spending hours there just talking. If you do not like the food there are on-campus restaurants to go to which you can pay for using your meal plan, depending on which one you get. I believe more restaurants should be added that have foods that dont get served in the Z6. Overall you will always find something to eat, trust me you wont starve, but you may get tired of pizza.
    Dorm Life

    Living in a dorm is a fun experience that i think everyone should have. You get to meet new people, not just your roomate, but the dorm as a whole becomes like a little family. Of course there are downfalls, the bathroom may not always be as clean, and sometimes the RAs can be strict. But compared to other colleges the rules are more flexible.
    Academic Rigor

    The library offers students a place to study, there are 3 different floors, i would recommend the top 2 floors to not have any distractions. There is on campus tutoring for free, a writing center and all of the teachers have office hours where they can help out students on a one-to-one basis.

    Make sure to go to ALL of your classes, get to know your proffessors, and though there are many distractions with parties, boys/girls, etc. just remember your main purpose of being there is to get an education and not to take it for granted.

    You have The Z6 which is the dinning hall which always serves something new every single day and the University Campus Center holds a food hall on the lower level for those students who are on the go.

    I stayed in both a traditional dorm and in the suites, if you are okay with sharing a bathroom with more than one person then you will be okay with a traditional dorm but if you are not then the suites are for you. In the traditional dorms you are more prone to making more friends than in the suites because people tend to be more reserved in the suites than in the dorms.

    The work is tough but as long as you apply yourself and do your best failing will not be an option.

    The university police are awesome. If needed, they take you to places you need to get to at night to ensure that you are safe, they respond quickly to any issues, and they overly protect the students from being harmed. They are constantly patrolling the campus. There are also many emergency buttons around campus that can be pushed in case of an emergency.

    There are many different Fraternities and Sororities that fit for different people. They are strong in their beliefs and morals. They hold different charity events for those who are in need. Greek Life is taken very seriously on our campus.

    There are so many different clubs. I believe that there is a club for every interest. Multiple events are held by these clubs on a daily basis. They have different activities as well. Tailgate parties before football games, Hawaiian Luau Dances, etc.

    If you are a quiet person that likes to keep to yourself then you would definitely enjoy the Ingram Library. It has 3 floors, the 3rd being the quietest. If you're a people person then you would enjoy other areas of campus such as the UCC and the Z6.

    On our campus we have the Bonner House, and the Kennedy Chapel. I think these two places are a bit unusual because of the interesting stories behind them. The art students have a lot of traditions where they do giant kiln burns and things like that.

    Everything is generally cheap. There are many stores within the city where the students can go to purchase things. There are also stores on campus where you can use cash and/or dining dollars (wolf bucks). These can definitely come in handy. They come with most meal plans.

    There are multiple events that go on, on campus everyday. There's never a time where there isn't anything to do. There's a gameroom that has Playstation 3, XBOX 360, Wii, pool tables, air hockey, etc. It's definitely a place you can go to wind down.

    Unfortunately, freshman have to live on campus their freshman year. However, this is good because you get a true college experience. However, sophomore year I would recommend staying in one of the many off-campus apartments that are for students only. On campus housing is usually about two thousand dollars per semester. Whereas, the apartments add up to be way less. Also during your sophomore year, I would recommend buying a cheaper meal plan. That way you still get good campus food whenever you please, but you can pay way less and use the money to learn to cook for yourself!
    What to do for fun

    Because West Georgia is somewhat close to Atlanta, many students visit there on the weekends. I would recommend staying on campus and attending sporting events and taking part in many other campus clubs and organizations.

    The food is decent; nothing is like home of course. West Georgia is also in the process of building a new cafeteria. Not only will we have two cafeterias, but we also have a very nice food court with Subway, Chick-Fil-A, and many other restaurants.

    Honestly, I hated dorms. I lived in a traditional dorm and was always sick because the dorms were somewhat old. Luckily, the campus is tearing those dorms down and all new students will have the opportunity to live in nice, brand new suites.

    I would say West Georgia is tough, but everyone is capable of doing well and making good grades. After all, it is college. However, if students put in the necessary study hours then they can expect to make good grades.

    Definitely get to know your teachers! Teachers are friendly, helpful, and really do want the best for you! I would also recommend getting involved with the many activities which West Georgia has to offer, and to also take advantage of the many resources provided on campus.

    Campus police are the best! There were times when my class ended late and it was dark outside, I would call campus police to escort me to my dorm. They also update you on things going on in the community as well as on campus. I get a phone call when there is a thunderstorm warning. Ladies, be sure to take the self-defense courses offered (for free, again) because knowledge is power.

    You have a choice of Historically Black National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Fraternities and Sororities, National Pan-hellenic Conference (NPC) Sororities, and Council National Interfraternity Conference (NIC) Fraternities to choose from.

    Clubs? We got it! Activities? We got it, too! From religious, to Greek, to political, to student governance, to service organizations, we have it all! Check the UWG website and look for CSI.

    You do get what you paid for. West Georgia is fairly inexpensive compared to most schools. We receive an education and so much more. The activities are vast and engaging. Movie nights and bonfires happen to be my favorite. Majority are free. Other activities like kayaking trips and whitewater rafting cost roughly $50.

    Check out concerts (free of course) offered by the music department, plays offered by the theater department, football games, basketball games, activities on the yard, and Zumba classes in the gym.

    The Z-6 is okay, but when it comes to breakfast it's good! People mainly go to the UCC for various food choices. Starbucks in the library have the best cake pops! Make sure you try rocky road. Note to freshman: you have to have a meal plan your first year on campus. It is greatly needed.

    Check out the dorms before you plan on living in them. We always have something going on in the dorms and apartments regarding social interaction. RA's are there to assist you and make sure your living is suitable. It's always nice to have an RA in the same class as you. Study Time!!

    There have been some safety incidents on campus, but we don't live in a bubble. People are always bound to get hurt not matter where he or she may go. I believe that the UWG Police has an amazing program set up to try and keep as many students and faculty as safe as possible.

    I'm sure that there are more difficult colleges, but UWG is not easy either. Be prepared.

    Turn things in on time. Don't burden yourself with too many classes at once. If you can afford to go for more than 4 years, take your time and take the bare minimum of credit hours.

    Located around all of campus there are emergency ports where you can report anything if you feel in danger. There are campus police for any students discretion at any time.

    There club fairs every semester that give you detailed information about all the clubs around you can become apart of and every month there is a full calendar giving you a run down of all the campus events going on.

    There is a open area called Love Valley where a lot of events take place. Around the campus are abstract works of art made by our own art students which are really cool.

    The cafeteria food is only good on certain days, but the breakfast is always good. The on campus restaurants are the best but slightly more expensive, but definitely worth it.

    There is always a police on stand-by if you are in trouble. Like if your car broke down on campus, they provide help. When there is a severe weather, they would always email all the students about the warning.
    What to do for fun

    They have a gaming room for students and it's free. They also have rock climbing and a gym for students who want to work out in one location. On some days they have programs, like Zumba for students.
    Food and Dining

    Everything is provided through the whole school. In every nooks or crany of the large campus, there is always a small place where you can find a coffee shop or bagel shop. They also give you a list of delivery services outside of campus. Just to make sure they are feeding you, they place many food places around campus and vending machines to snack on.

    Not really sure how dorm life is since I am a commuting student, but I heard that the rooms are big enough for one person and small, but the kitchen room is spacious.

    They provide students, who are struggling in certain part of their class, tutors. For students, who think writing an essay is not their strongest point, they also have a writing center to fix that problem.

    You should arrive early to grab a good seat in class. Don't be afraid to ask around. Make lots of connections with your professors and peers. If you are a commuting student from home, you should arrive to the campus to nab a good parking spot. Don't be afraid to make new friends.

    For fun there are sooooo many events on campus. There are different organizations and sports to join to stay active. Also, look out for parties thrown by your classmates on facebook and twitter.

    Dining dollars were most definitely a plus. The cafe food is ok sometimes.

    Depending on where you are living is how your dorm life experience will be. My freshman year I stayed in Strozier main which is one of the final traditional dorms on campus. It was very small and I had a very bad ant problem. I wanted to go home :) but I stuck it out.
    Academic Rigor

    Academics are rigor but most definitely useful and interesting. Make sure that your major is something that you are interested in so that going to class becomes something you enjoy.

    For prospctive students come with a ope mind because college is most definitely a big difference from high school. You have more freedom and more time on your hands, which could serve as a good and a bad thing. Just manage your time well and make the best out of everything. You may have to do stuff you never one before to enjoy your stay here because after all this is Carrollton (the country) and it's a big difference from the city.

    This campus is relatively safe. There isn't much to worry about as far as danger and crimes. Heavily patrolled by the police, West Georgia is probably one of the safest Universities that Georgia has to offer.

    I personally, am no involved in greek life. I do have friends and classmates who are and they seem to enjoy it.

    All of the clubs here at UWG are definitely to your benefit. I love spoken word and I love meeting new people. Joining the University Television club allowed me to volunteer in our campus news room. In addition to the UT-13 club, I joined Free Verse and hosted a local show that displays natural and artistic talent via spoken word song dance and etc.

    If you are the type of student who loves art, try becoming a dual major and take up some art classes.

    There is one place on campus where all of the freshmen go to kind of grace themselves on our UWG campus. Love valley.     West Georgia definitely offers its bang for its buck. This school is highly affordable especially if you have student loans and scholarships.

    Stay focused. Losing sight of what you are in school for is an easy thing to do. The detrimental cost however, is much greater than you can ever imagine.     The Student Center is centered around student activity. You can go to the gym with some friends. There is a rock climbing area. Events are constantly happening at UWG.

    There are lots of fast food places to choose from. There are some places for coffee. The college is located near several town restaurants for your convenience.

    Most of the dorms are your typical ones. New dorms are currently being built. They range in the $2000-$3000 a semester.

    The only hard classes I'm taking right now are College Algebra and U.S. History. You really have to be focused and motivated to succeed in these classes. You have to study every night, do the homework every night, pay attention in class, AND interact with the teacher during class.

    This has got to be the safest place I've ever been to! However, there are many security phones near bus stops, buildings and throughout campus in case something ever does come up. Most people walk or ride bikes throughout campus and are very helpful to all. Campus security is very present during the day and night and will offer assistance by walking someone to their car, dorm, etc. This is a very safe campus.
    Greek Life

    There is a very active Greek Life on campus, though I am not very familiar with them just yet. They seem to be very busy and have many gatherings often. They also have their own section on the campus for housing.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are so many clubs and activities to choose from including several different religious/campus ministries, academic clubs, study groups, sports organizations, etc. There is something for everyone and it's easy to start a new club.

    This is great for students who might be overwhelmed at larger universities. The campus and staff are so welcoming to everyone. This school is perfect for students who live in the Atlanta area and want to live on campus but not be too far from home - but actually great for everyone!

    I enjoy the large art statues all around the campus. The campus is very shaded with lots of walkways and makes for a nice bike ride or walk to all of the different buildings.

    Compared to other Georgia schools, the price cannot be beat! The tuition is less than many other schools and the extra fees include a lot more than others. Campus seems to be like a small mini-city within the city of Carrollton.
    What to do for fun

    It seems like there is some type of activity happening on campus all the time for I have not been bored since I've been here and have hardly left the campus! However, for those who do go off campus, there are a couple of nearby state parks for picnic's and hiking and downtown Atlanta is only a 45 minute drive. Carrollton offers many restaurants, a movie theatre and shopping opportunities.

    There are many dining opportunities around campus. The Z-6 is the main cafeteria where you can get nearly anything imagineable and the food is fair. There is a food court that houses serveral fast-food type restaurants such as Chick Fil A, Subway and a couple of others. In addition, there is a Starbuck and Einstein Bagles @ the bookstore which are always great!
    Dorm Life

    The new dorms are a little inconvenient to the dining facility, but they are very nice. Laundry facilities are only a few doors down from my room. The rooms are more spacious than they apprear.

    So far, my classes have been challenging, but not overwhelming. My professors are really great to work with and explain things well. There are many resources available when extra help may be needed.

    West Georgia offers things that other major universities may not offer (i.e. a writing lab). When reviewing other colleges make sure you compare the extra's. The new dorm rooms are super nice.

    The police are everywhere!! There was an incident in my residence hall and the police was there in like 2 minutes. Never walk at night by yourself because there are a lot of different pathways that lead into woods or behind buildings and that can be very dangerous. I never had a problem though with safety.

    There is nothing to do on this campus for fun unless you join a club or something. Other than that its boring.

    The food is pretty good. If you go to the cafeteria you need to go at like certain times when they are actually cooking food. If you don't go at those times then all you will be eating is pizza, salad, and waffles.

    I live in a traditonal dorm and the room is nice but those bathrooms are a different story. You share a dorm with two halls and some people are nasty. The bathrooms only stay clean during the weeks. On the weekend people act like they don't know how to keep a bathroom clean.

    The classes aren't really hard but I advise you to never take an online class because those are the classes that will get you. You will forget about the class and the teachers do not allow make up or extensions.

    There is a university police officer on almost every inch of this campus. If there is an emergency, the locals act immediately. They come so fast sometimes that you are so stunned at how fast they got there and forget your emergency!

    An event is held almost every weekend. Laser tag, poetry night, talent shows, comedy skits, bashes, raves, and much more are held here. There are over 150 organizations to choose from.

    I wouldn't say the food is excellent, but it works. Carrollton provides a lot of different food choices both on and off campus.

    This campus is best for its safety! Campus Police are actual Police Officers that are on campus working 24/7. Also they are always aware of their surroundings, one night I was walking back to my dorm from the apartments and I found a Police officer escorting a young man out from the woods, and the fact they these officers are willingly glad to take those extra measures so that everyone on campus can be safe, is really something of a miracle.
    Greek Life

    They party, and usually only stick to their houses, but they can sometimes be quite friendly and nice, when they all aren't together.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are plenty of exciting clubs on or off campus and as far as activities go, I feel that the school needs to start bringing their A game.

    There's an outdoor staircase near the Biology Building and there's a wall adjacent to each step where there is a continuous line of spray-painted, stenciled Pikachus!
    Bang for the buck

    All payments truly are necessary and throughout my short time here, has greatly helped. Whether I wanted to blow off steam at the gym or stuff my face at the cafeteria called the Z.
    What to do for fun

    There are parties, step competitions, theatre plays, or just hanging out with your friends at Starbucks.
    Food and Dining

    The food is not bad, for some it might take some getting used to, but they cater to everyones needs. Salad bar, tofu/vegitarian, pizza and pasta, home-style cooking, sandwich bar, omelet station and an endless supply of cereal.
    Dorm Life

    Each place you live will be different, you might get the crazy roommate or the obnoxious one, and there will always be the drunk loud mouths at 1:30 in the morning.
    Academic Rigor

    The professors, change your mind without over doing ,it to where you become overwhelmingly stressed.

    Don't procrastinate. Figure out your study skill, use it! The showers on campus won't always be able to stay hot. And don't go to college looking for love...you'll just end up heart broken.

    I think that the degree opportunities are very versatile for the variety of students. I do wish they offered more classes on their Newnan campus, but they are supposed to start offering more soon. I like that the campus is not really big and students can get where they need to go.

    Carrollton is a college town filled with restaurants and entertainment venues geared towards university life. The campus is only a few miles from downtown, where there is a variety of places to hang-out, eat, play recreational sports, etc.

    There are a plethora of dining options on and off campus, that college students will be able to afford and enjoy.
    Academic Rigor

    Core Classes are basic and help students review important information that will serve as the base for their degree. Major classes are very indepth and prepare the student for their future.

    Anyone looking for a good education will excel here. BanWeb is a great tool that makes registering for classes and staying in touch with teachers easy. Wolf Watch is another tool that breaks down your degree progress and helps you plan for the future. I recommend using these. Make sure you register for classes on time! And of course keep up with assignments (time-management) in current classes.

    You cannot go anywhere without seeing a blue emergency button. Campus police always answer the phone within two rings, and can help with anything from locking your keys in your car to a serious offense. They are constantly in a good mood and can just stand around and talk to students without seeming intimidating or rude, but they get their jobs done. They are constantly patrolling and are making sure everyone is okay. If you have to walk back from the library really late at night, you can call them and they can drive you back as your escort so you are safe.
    Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    Love Valley is a big open field/valley where you can go and have a picnic or play games, or where some events are held. It allows students to just sit and relax or study in the fresh air. It is nice to have a place to relax that is not always inside.
    What to do for fun

    There is ALWAYS something going on. A play, a concert, sports, cubs, etc. The sororities and the fraternities are constantly hosting events, and you do not always have to be in the sorority or fraternity to attend. Clubs are constantly holding fun events, (for example, one club just had a pumpkin chuckin where you donate your jack-o-lantern from Halloween and they catapult it to see how far it goes; They were testing different things about the activity with physics).
    Food and Dining

    The Z-6 is exceptional. They just recently changed owners and the food is amazing. They always have the basics: pizza, pasta, salad, and cereal, but the special of the day is different and is always good. I especially love that they have a Vegetarian section. I also love how they have Starbucks, Chickfila, Subway, Einstein Bagels, and other individual food places throughout campus. It gives the students a variety to choose from so that we do not always have to eat at the Z-6 like a cafeteria in a school.
    Dorm Life

    Each dormitory is different, but they are all exceptional, (even the ones with community bathrooms!) The RAs are wonderful and help you out a lot, and there are always get togethers within your dorm so you get to know your dormmates and have fun.
    Academic Rigor

    The classes are challenging but not too hard. Some of them take more work than others, (I.e: science classes). But the teachers are extremely helpful and it pays to go to the Writing Center, the Resource Center, or the Math Tutoring Center.
    Tips for prospective students

    Come and check out the campus. It is a fairly large one, but it's beautiful. Make sure you take the classes you need to take as well as the classes you want to take, and make a relationship with your professors. It helps tremendously and lets them know you're serious about their class and your grade.

    I absolutely love this University because of the campus activities and the teachers. The teachers do almost everything online and it is extremely helpful, as well as making schedules and applying for classes online. The campus itself is beautiful and relaxing.

    Go to all the campus activities your schedule allows you to go to. Get a job on campus. Be a social butterfly and join a club or organization. Go to the big gym, indoor rock climbing, zumba, and yoga !

    Yum, Yum ! the food here is above average, especially when comparing it to high school lunch. There is a food court and the z6( ( all you can eat). There are also great spots to eat around off-campus.

    I am a commuter but my friends who has experienced the dorm life wants me to live in a dorm, so that can only mean the dorm life here is exciting, new, and something you want to experience. Also, I have visited many of my friends on multiple occasions at their dorm, thumbs up.

    Every weekend they have an activity in our campus center that range from having games to karaoke and other things we can for prizes. Our football games and basketball games are always entertaining. we have a gym that does weight lose activities every day as well.

    The residence halls are just like any other dorms. one room that you share with another person. but this is only for freshmen, the upperclassman dorms are a lot better.

    We do have our own police that patrol here. They have their own number and they even can send out weather alerts to your phone and email, if you sign up for it. You can also set up an account with wolf guardian and it will turn your phone into a map, this way if you are in trouble, you just call the number and they will help you.
    Greek Life

    Greek Life is wonderful whether you're a guy or a girl. The fraternities and sororities all get along with each other. It can get a little pricey but usually the finance person in your fraternity or sorority will help you with it.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are TONS of clubs and activities to do, such as Campus Outreach. There are tons of people you can meet during these activities.
    What to do for fun

    There are many different sports to watch, including football, baseball, basketball, softball, etc. There are intramurals that anyone can participate in. You can work out at the gym, rock climb, play tennis, go for a run, etc. There is ALWAYS something going on.

    On campus we have Starbucks, Einstein Bros and Bagels, Chick-fil-a, Subway, The Burger Studio, a pizza place, and the Z-6 Cafeteria. The Z is where your meal plan is; the food is okay. They have a variety of things there.

    The dorms are nice. They are currently building new ones and tearing old ones now to make room. The new ones are extremely nice but a little expensive due to how new they are.

    There is a variety of classes to take at UWG. There are even Honors classes for the students who really excel with their studies.

    The University of West Georgia has around the clock campus police service. All the cops are actual cops and not just security people. I feel pretty safe here!

    I do not participate in Greek Life, but I have heard great things about it! I hope to one day become apart of the Greek Life here at West Georgia.

    There are so many clubs here that it is hard to keep up with! Activities are always happening here! You can always count on at least one thing to be happening throughout the week!

    The dorm life at West Georgia is exceptional minus a few problems. The dorms are usually kept clean and the cleaning staff is very nice. The people who live in the dorms are usually the problems and the RA's aren't always the best.
    Academic Rigor

    The majority of classes here at West Georgia are somewhat difficult, but definitely manageable. Students just have to put forth the effort and study for their classes. If they do that, they should not only pass, but exceed expectations.
    Tips for prospective students

    Prospective students should always apply early for everything whether it is housing or financial aid. The faster all applications get completed, the more options that student has to pick from usually.

    Depending on where you stay living sucks. I moved off campus to near by apartments, but when I was on campus I lived in Bowden; which is now being renovated.

    The work isn't hard and the teachers aren't either. College is all about time management.

    Don't come in wanting to just party and have fun, because this is an easy school to do that at. Also, become involved.

    There's so much to do at UWG. Go to a sports game (in the newly built stadium). The gym offers not only sports courts and a running track but a 3 story rock wall as well. Join a club. Go to housing events. Or leave campus and go shopping and to the movies. Atlanta, Georgia's capital city is less than an hour away for a short road trip.
    Food and Dining

    UWG offers a number of dining experiences, from the campus dining hall to more popular food and coffee chains, there's something for everyone. Good food for a quick snack in between class as well as numerous choices for those who choose to live on campus.

    Get to know your RA. They will definitely be checking in. Dorm life is a major part of making friends. Sharing space with strangers takes some adjusting but what better way to get to know one another than to dive right in and say hi?

    Just like at any other school, some professors are better than others, but even the largest classes at UWG don't make you feel like you're a fish in an entire of ocean. Most are personable and helpful and want nothing more than to see you succeed.

    Set in a town with both urban appeal and rural charm, the University of West Georgia was the perfect place to begin my college education. Its scenic campus was a mix of both historic and new learning facilities that set the foundations for my education and became home to me very quickly. I would recommend UWG for anyone wanting to experience a larger school that is more about education than numbers.

    Dorm life is great, I stayed on campus my freshman year in one of the new dorms, Downs Hall, and had a great experience.

    Apply early to get accepted and to get in the best dormitories or campus apartments.

    What to do for fun

    I go to activities on campus during the weekends which is called Weekends at West. We have 1 famous musician come to perform and its really fun.
    Food and Dining

    We have this thing called dining dollars where you can order pizza from Papa Johns, go to Chik-fi-a on campus, Burger Studio, and an Asian place! We have 1 dining hall and building a new one and the new one will be open for 24 hours. The Z-6 is all you can eat.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are really nice! We are now in progress in building a new dorm and remodeling an old one. Most of the dorms on campus are new!
    Academic Rigor

    They professors are tough, but if you study you can make it through that class!
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure you go to class but no matter what if you have a problem with any class go to that professor. They are really helpful. Take an advantage on the free tutoring! It really helps!

    There are police poles and a police station on campus. If you need ant help all you have to do is push a button on one of the poles and the campus police will be there shortly.
    Greek Life

    I dont know to much about Greek life myself other than the houses are very nice.

    There are many clubs and activities. Especially if you have picked a major and go to that building there will be a place for you.

    Great for students who are looking to get through school without struggling under the weight of demanding classes.

    There are no unusual traditions that i now of which disappointed me.

    There is a convenience store on campus that gives you all the basics for your dorm and your school day.

    There are tons of things to do on campus. Watch movies in the commuter lounge or join in a movie night. Climb the rock wall or work out. Take exercise classes. Play video games or pool in the game room and so much more.

    Very nice choices and options. Not only is there a food court area with things like pizza, chick-fil-a, and sushi but there is also a cafeteria. A added plus is the Starbucks on campus which is a favorite.

    I never lived in the dorms.
    Academic Rigor

    Not bad as long as you are paying attention when you need to be.

    There are many focus students but there are also many side-tracked students so be careful.

    The campus is huge and spread out which I like. If you want to join in there are lots of different groups and options for you. The food selection is nice and became very important.

    Tuition is a lot cheaper than other schools, I just hate all of the university fees for things I didn't even use.

    There is not much to do in Carrollton unless you like to go out or are in a sorority or fraternity.

    There are a good number of dinning options, I just didn't partake in them because I lived off campus.

    I didn't ever live in the dorms because I transferred in as a Junior.

    I though it was ridiculously easy especially for the final two years where you focused in on your major.

    Don't go out every night. Get a meal plan. Go to the campus events.

    West Georgia is the perfect place for people transitioning from high school. Its small but not to small, and easy place to stay focused. The employees and professors are extremely helpful too.

    The campus police are on the job 24/7 . We have a very safe campus !

    There's plenty to do. We also give students the opportunity to start their own club if there isn't already one.

    The University is mostly ran by the students. Apart from the professors, all office employees are students, from the cafeteria to the deans office .
    What to do for fun

    They have many events from, concerts to fashion shows !

    There are numerous places to eat from here at West Georgia ! We have fast food restaurants, an on campus market, and two cafeteria's.

    The dorms here are beautiful ! Having a roommate for the first time really opens your eyes to new aspects of life. Also each residence hall has plenty of events to bring each student closer to one another.

    The work is pretty fair, as long as you put forth effort.

    The best tip I can give to a future student is to balance your time wisely. There is plenty to do at West Georgia, but always be mindful of your school work.

    Campus police is always around. They run 24/7 and is always ready to protect and serve. They keep campus a great place and allows students to be comfortable and be themselves.

    Greek life all great. There are so many events to attend and it's also so easy to get involved and provides so many great opportunities.

    They have anything and everything you could think of, and the best thing is that if they don't you could simply get help on creating one yourself.

    UWG is great for the students who want a balanced college experience. You could do it all study, party, work, and/ or join an extracurricular activity or make your own.

    In the center of campus we have the 'Love Valley'. Here is were a lot of campus events are held and is just a great spot to relax.

    UWG is the best bang for your buck. The university has one of the states best business and mass communication program which is so helpful being so close to Metro-Atlanta.

    There's so many things to do on campus year around. Free admission to all athletic events and you also get the best priced tickets on on-campus concerts.

    The food is great the Z-6 cafeteria has the best food and as all different varieties of foods.

    I love the dorm life they have everything from apartment style dorms to traditional dorms. And next year they are building and renovating the majority of the dorms on campus.

    The academic rigor is just right. Of course every school you go to they have the laid back teacher and the tougher ones, but at UWG the criteria is set and all the professors strive for academic excellence.

    Prospective students, apply early! Even though UWG is a smaller school, more and more students are starting to apply, making it more competitive to be accepted.

    UWG is one of the best affordable schools in Georgia. I love the student to faculty ratio. And tutoring, career counseling, and other services are always there to help.
