If you really want to have some fun, make some friends and hang out with them. But if you don't have any friends don't worry. You can take a trip down State Street and sample all the delectable restaurants the city has to offer. You can walk down Lakeshore Path and take in the wonderful scenery. You can even go down to Union South and watch a movie.

I am a member of the University's esteemed Greek Society, so I spend most of my time at my Fraternity's house! Hanging out with my brothers and friends on Lake Mendota is something you will never forget.

There is so much to do that I can't even begin to express it. There are free movies at the Marquee, football games, hockey games, all other sporting events, tail gating, theatre performances, poetry readings, free art classes, countless clubs that host many events with free food most of the time, bonfires at Picnic Point, dances, shoppping, and literally any type of restuarant that you can think of. My favorites place are Nepali and Korean food, which is something that I have never experienced before going to Madison. And if that isn't enough for you, I'm sure you could stop in on a party.

Rowing, scuba-diving, swimming, ice-fishing, hiking, [homemade] sword fighting, playing (or listening to) music, etc. Also party and drinking or chilling with friends.

Sporting events, from Hockey to Football to Basketball to Volleyball, you can't go wrong. Other than that, there are fun people who like to party, and in the older dorms, Sellery or Witte, people are so close they are almost forced to party and hang out together.

Spend time at either lake, Mendota or Monona very beautiful atmosphere. Spend sometime at the Rathskeller and the student union. Attend a sporting event, football, basketball, or hockey, my preference is going to a hockey game, even if you are not into sports you should still go. Eating at any of the many places on State Street.

Bars are pretty big in Madison. There are pre-bars and there are a-bars. If you can't get into bars during that middle period there is always a party somewhere. I promise. Tailgates, frats and parties by Camp Randall are HUGE on football gamedays. Best time of the year by far. Gamedays are unlike any other. Tons of places to see concerts nearby. Madison is a hub for good music so go check out your favorite artist with friends.

When it's not basketball or football season, the arboretum is a short bus ride away and if you're looking to release your inner child the Madison Children's Museum is close too.
