When visiting the school, speak to students in the major that you wish to go into about the academic rigor, academic opportunities, and academic resources on campus.

    Most of the students are not too far from home and take weekend visits to get away from campus life. Those that live farther away have a harder time really feeling at home at this university.

    Although it is your first and easiest semester, don't think you don't have to try or study. A lot of freshmen's come in with this mindset, and regrets it very much at the end of the semester when they come out with a 3.0 or less.
