I would not be able to attend Vandy this fall if I wasn't awarded such a generous financial aid packet. They really do do what's best for each student.

I mean just saying you go to Vanderbilt will give you high accolades around the Nashville area. Most things are within a 15-minute-walk walking distance around the campus. There are 10 various libraries to choose to study from. Many research opportunities that I cannot stress enough, and just the cultural influence and push from those around you.

Yes, it is expensive. However, VU is one of the top 50 schools in the world and currently ranked #17 in the nation. The program I'm in is ranked in the top 10 in the nation. It goes without saying that this private school is by far one of the best not only in the south, but in the country.

Vanderbilt students love complaining about the ridiculous price of our education, but honestly, we get a lot for our money. The food is pretty good, housing is tolerable, the student rec center is awesome and newly-expanded, and admission to all home sports games is free. We have our own police department that patrols campus, and the Vandy Vans that will give you a ride around campus between 5 PM and 5 AM. On top of all that, the city of Nashville is a ton of fun and just the right size. Most importantly though, you are not only paying for a great experience, but ultimately you are paying for job security- a Vanderbilt degree means something to prospective employers.
