    Campus Safety

The campus is very safe. Our security really care for the faculty, staff and students

    Bang for the buck

Vaughn is pretty expensive but that is only because it is a private college.

    What to do for fun

New York City is 10 minutes away. You are able to hop in a bus or train and experience the big apple.

    Food and Dining

The food is great at Vaughn. It is well prepared, tasty and affordable. Most kids enjoy the food there and the cafeteria is extremely clean.

    Dorm Life

I believe the dorm life is really nice. I am not familiar with it because I live at home.

    Academic Rigor

Vaughn College has a great academic staff that push you to the limit. It is up to you to be successful. They are not that strict but you must complete the work assigned to you.

    Tips for prospective students

Working hard is the key for success at Vaughn. Pick a field that you love because it will eventually get tough but once you are willing to sacrifice, you rewards would be high.

    What to do for fun

It's NYC and the campus is right by the airport. 'Nuff said.

    Food and Dining

There is a cafeteria located on campus. In all honesty, this is good when you only have a meal plan due to dorming, or if you need a quick pick-me-up. The food is good but if you want a real culinary experience, you're gonna wanna leave campus and explore all that NYC has to offer.

    Dorm Life

Perfect opportunity to make new friends and there are some great events and hangout times to gather and relax.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes can be hard, but they are all worthwhile.

    Tips for prospective students

Know where you are going to be staying. The dorms can be quite expensive, but also worth the money to know you have a secure place to live.

    In three sentences

Location is prime. Faculty is helpful. Many opportunities available.

    Campus Safety

Security cameras are every where. If you lose your phone, the cameras will get them for you. Security office is pretty active.

    Greek Life

    Doesn't exist.

    Clubs and Activities

The School has about 6-8 clubs. Again it is a pretty small schools. However, the faculty wouldn't mind students starting their own clubs.

Great for these types of students

This school is great if your passionate about the aviation industry and all it's derivatives. After all it is called Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The school is pretty much basic, but they have this control tower looks exactly like the one in the airport except it's lower. Once you go up to the tower, you get this great view of Laguardia airport and you watch airplanes taking off and landing all day.

    Bang for the buck

This is a good school, organized, clean, and full of energy. I judge a place by it's bathroom, and this school has very clean bathrooms. You also feel that the professors really do care about you. They want to help you, it's like they really love their job.

    What to do for fun

The school has a small GYM, and couple of pool tables by the cafeteria. That is pretty much it.

    Food and Dining

Cafeteria is fairly good. They offer fresh cooked food everyday, as well as cold subs. They also offer a verity of drinks and food. Sushi is a plus.

    Dorm Life

They have dorms, i do not dorm since i live in the city. Big Parking lot. 40% of students complain about it. 60% are fine with it. Can't provide any further details due to lack of knowledge.

    Academic Rigor

The school is pretty serious. It is all about achieving. Most of the students and classmates are pretty serious about their careers. Also most of them declare their major by their second semester. Classes are not overcrowded. Each class has a projector, clean White board, comfortable seats, and great lighting system. Professors love to help as well as staff. If you make one step towards them, they make two steps towards you.

    Tips for prospective students

Take your time reviewing the courses they offer. Before attending, meet the faculty, ask questions, and take a tour around campus. Try as much as possible to decide what major your going for, so time won't be wasted. Once attending the school, get to know everyone, be part of the family, ask as much questions as you like and study hard.

    In three sentences

Faculty members are beyond helpful. Small class rooms, thus be able to understand a lot better. Accredited by ABET for it's Engineering Courses.

    Campus Safety

high i guess, no really crazy stuff going on

    Greek Life

    nope

    Clubs and Activities

not many clubs but anyone can start one

    What to do for fun

Word of advice, get involved in everything, it will pay off: TRUST ME There are tons of ways to have fun, not necessarily on campus. Make friends and keep your ear to the streets and there wont be many dull moments.

    Food and Dining

Food is the same as most other colleges in the area, not really good and not cheap. there are a lot of food spots in the area though. As I said before, there are lots of events where food is involved. If your meal plan runs out, you wont starve for that long.. haha

    Dorm Life

For all the guys: probably a 10:1 or 15:1 guy to girl ratio... For all the girls: ^^^^ the guys who will hit on you are usually laughable though so yea...

    Academic Rigor

unless you're in the mechatronics degree program, I cannot see the academic rigor being that high. It depends on the type of person you are as well, I'm the type who got 1890 on SAT so not the sharpest tool in the shed but sharper than most here. Career services is also EXTREMELY present on campus. From freshman year career services shoves tons of networking and internship opportunities in your face, it's your choice whether to chase them or not. Later in your studies such as junior and senior year, I believe that job placement will be elementary. Why? because LaGuardia Airport is within walking distance and 4 years of career services' training will pay off.

    Tips for prospective students

Many students come in, misguided that they will be able to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering: absolutely not true. Most engineering degrees here are technology degrees with the exception of one degree program called mechatronics engineering (mechanical + electrical) it has a focus on robotics type stuff. Other than the misguided aerospace students, it is a pretty good small school. They try and accommodate all the students by having lots of on campus events such as party type things and social events that always have food. Off campus events include skiing trips and tickets to the baseball games and basketball games in the area (mets, yankees. nets and knicks). All in all they try to make campus as fun as they can even if they may fail a little bit. Either way manhattan isn't that far away. Challenge yourself and have fun.
