    Be proactive, if you ask for help from anyone in the faculty ( instructors, counselors, financial aid, work study) they will do all they can to help you. Any advise that they volunteer is generalized and will leave you frustrated. Learn to be a good note taker, this is a standard that most of the instructors expect from the students.
