I have heard great things about this college and I have a friend who goes here, the teacher's enjoy their work. The college is small and gives students more interaction with the teachers. Well organized and very helpful in getting ready to attend.

    Campus Safety

This is an extrememly safe place; Villa has their own security that routinely patrol both in and out. The lab building has buzzer access and entry is monitored. There is also a counseling center available for students in crisis, a campus chaplain, a food bank, and assistance for students with disabilities.

    Clubs and Activities

Everything under the sun - music groups, poetry and literary readings, a yearbook of creative arts department work, fashion gallery and art gallery showings; interior design, campus ministry, Phi Theta Kappa, animation, art, graphic design, management, photography, drama, and education clubs; and students also participate in volunteer opportunities in the community.

    What to do for fun

Hang out in the dining hall during campus hour - you'll see students hanging around playing guitars and music on laptops, some days the students dj a little radio station setup and play music. There are also concerts in the Recital Hall, get togethers in the student center, and of course, you can always grab friends and head there for some foozball, pool, ping-pong, or B-ball in the gym.

    Food and Dining

Pretty good for cafeteria food! Their soups are wonderful, the meals are a very good value for the money, and they even have dunkin donuts coffee! My only real complaint is that they don't open til 9am, which is annoying on days when you have classes from 8am-11:40 straight through. They also have fit and fresh kind of options, such as granola, yogurt, salads, fruit cups, and fresh fruit. The bookstore also has all sorts of snacks and drinks, which is helpful when the dining hall is closed. The microwave in the dining hall is always available for days when you want to bring food or just reheat your coffee.

    Dorm Life

The one disadvantage is that there is no on-campus dorms. However, Collegiate Village is a great substitute! Less than 15 minutes from college, they have gated access, swimming pool and fitness center, lounge area with GIGANTIC tv, fully equipped apartments including washer and dryer, and even free shuttle service. I would have LOVED this kind of apartment when I was in college fresh out of high school! And it is shared by many college students from all the colleges in the city, so you really get to meet a lot of great people and friends.

    Academic Rigor

Some things are a little tough, but the instructors go out of their way to really help you understand the concepts. There are no fluff courses here; even if you have to take a course that you don't think you will really need, you find out later that it is all useful knowledge. And they have an Academic Success Center here with tutors to help you in math and english skills, course-field-specific tutors, and even people to help you stay organized and on time with your academics.

    Tips for prospective students

Come and visit this college - there are some really great advantages, but attending a small college isn't for everyone. There's no substitute for checking Villa out personally and seeing what it's all about. Make sure if you are leaving home for college that you check out Collegiate Village too - that's where most of our out-of-town students stay. It's affordable, has shuttle service, and great amenities and security.

This is a fantastic college, because all of the faculty and staff are so dedicated to helping students succeed. I have attended other colleges but here, the professors are so helpful, cheering us on when we do well. Even when it's hard, the staff here are very encouraging and I know that I will graduate ready to do well in my chosen field.

    Bang for the buck

Not worth the money, you pay nearly 20k a year for hardly any campus activities. There are no dorms, greek life, sports teams, and everything is closed after 5.

    What to do for fun

There are not a lot of activities on campus, unless you're a music student where we have open jam sessions in the cafeteria one a week. Other than that there isn't much to do, especially in the winter time.

    Food and Dining

Choice of food can be very repetitive, and the only cafeteria we have closes pretty early.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms, but there are student apartments not too far from the school.

    Academic Rigor

I you are interested in music or art then this school will definitely provide courses that correlates to your major. Class sizes are small so you'll get the attention and help you need from professors. Also the work load is reasonable, especially for incoming freshmen, and teachers are friendly and knowledgable in their area of study.

    In three sentences

Small campus, but great sense of community, everyone is inviting and friendly, so there is no problem making friends. Surrounded by a decent neighborhood. Few campus activities.
