    Don't be upset that you are going to a community college. Looking back, I am glad that I went here first. I was not ready for life when I was supposed to. Now, a graduating senior, I can honestly say that going to Vol State was the best decision of my life by far.

    Treat your classes with the utmost importance. If you miss too many days or slack off, as they say, you will fall behind and your professors are not as willing to help you if you've missed continuous days or shown a lack of interest. It is your responsibility to make up any missed work and to make sure everything is turned in and to keep track of your own grade. Your professors aren't there to baby you.
